Issues with site security:
One of the main concerns we have with DrudgeReport.com is that when you type it into the address bar, you are sent to the unsecured version of the site, even though there is a secure version available. This is bad for user security, as it makes it easier for potential hackers to access private data.
Identification of ad placements:
Using the Web Developer add-on, we were able to identify ad placements on the site, including native ads and top banners. However, we also discovered that there are many more ads that are fully rendered out of view.
Techniques used by web developers:
Web developers often use this technique to falsify impression figures and earn more revenue, but advertisers are the ones who lose out in this scenario.
Evasions used by the site:
DrudgeReport.com has implemented various evasions, such as removing all the ads from the page when the inspector is open. However, we are still able to capture all the packets with our session analysis tool, so we can still detect their tactics.
