To turn off ads, follow these steps:
1. Open up the settings for Windows 10. You can easily do that by going down into the bottom left to the start button and right-clicking it. In the menu that comes up, select settings.
2. Go to System and select System. In the left sidebar, select Notifications and actions.
3. Under Notifications, turn off Get notifications from apps and other senders.
4. Turn off Get tips, tricks, and suggestions as you use Windows.
5. Go back to Home and select Personalization. In the left sidebar, select Lock screen.
6. To disable ads on the lock screen, select Background, then select the drop-down and go to Picture. Scroll down and turn off Get fun facts, tips, and more from Windows.
7. In Personalization, select Start. Go down until you see Show suggestions occasionally in Start and turn that off.
8. Open up the File Explorer for Windows 10. To open that up, go down to the Windows start button, right-click it, and then go to File Explorer.
9. In the top menu, go to View, then select Options.
10. From here, select the View tab, and then scroll down until you see Show sync provider notifications. Turn that off and select Apply and then OK.
11. Close the File Explorer.
