00:00:00 00:00:03 hey guys i'm just toking about um how
00:00:02 00:00:05 to develop video how do you use video in
00:00:03 00:00:06 your video marketing and i had one just
00:00:05 00:00:08 like what are the different types of
00:00:06 00:00:09 videos why you should use video because
00:00:08 00:00:12 it's relational a bunch of stuff now
00:00:09 00:00:14 what i want to tok about is um
00:00:12 00:00:16 the last video i made was about if you
00:00:14 00:00:17 write down your core you know kind of
00:00:16 00:00:19 your mission your purpose or values but
00:00:17 00:00:21 really if you get your one liner the
00:00:19 00:00:22 stakes and the benefits
00:00:21 00:00:24 kind of written out and if you write
00:00:22 00:00:25 those out you'll be able to create
00:00:24 00:00:28 better videos because you'll be working
00:00:25 00:00:29 from a core you will have a foundation
00:00:28 00:00:31 from
00:00:29 00:00:32 which you can draw upon to speak
00:00:31 00:00:34 extemporaneously because it's just who
00:00:32 00:00:36 you are and that'll equip you so that
00:00:34 00:00:38 you can go into a
00:00:36 00:00:41 a networking environment and really you
00:00:38 00:00:43 can cast this vision for you know what
00:00:41 00:00:45 i do taxes bookkeeping and accounting
00:00:43 00:00:47 for small businesses so you always say
00:00:45 00:00:49 that quick i always say what i do for
00:00:47 00:00:51 whom be really clear but really what i
00:00:49 00:00:53 do and then what you get into is problem
00:00:51 00:00:55 solution result you're going to say i
00:00:53 00:00:57 help people go from here
00:00:55 00:00:59 to there i help them from one crappy
00:00:57 00:01:01 situation where they're stuck and you
00:00:59 00:01:02 describe the here and then you describe
00:01:01 00:01:04 the there and the more you can and
00:01:02 00:01:07 that's called vision casting right so
00:01:04 00:01:08 visioneering andy stanley is a great has
00:01:07 00:01:10 a great book called visioneering that
00:01:08 00:01:12 you should read that toks about how to
00:01:10 00:01:15 cast vision and and again you want to
00:01:12 00:01:16 describe to the here so much that they
00:01:15 00:01:17 understand
00:01:16 00:01:18 that you understand where they're at
00:01:17 00:01:20 right and so it might be that you're
00:01:18 00:01:22 overpaying in taxes it might be that you
00:01:20 00:01:24 you have a bookkeeper that's really not
00:01:22 00:01:25 that good that you have on for 25 an
00:01:24 00:01:27 hour and it never it always seems like
00:01:25 00:01:29 you know your cpa is fixing stuff and
00:01:27 00:01:31 you kind of get this intuition that
00:01:29 00:01:32 maybe she's not that great or he's not
00:01:31 00:01:34 that great and boy it'd be better if it
00:01:32 00:01:36 wasn't or maybe you're stuck that you
00:01:34 00:01:38 never get financing you know every time
00:01:36 00:01:39 you go to the next real estate deal they
00:01:38 00:01:41 look at your books and they just kind of
00:01:39 00:01:42 pass over it and why is that it's
00:01:41 00:01:43 because you don't understand your cash
00:01:42 00:01:45 flow because you don't work with a
00:01:43 00:01:47 proactive tax planner a bookkeeper that
00:01:45 00:01:49 works with real estate professionals
00:01:47 00:01:50 right whatever that is um
00:01:49 00:01:52 maybe it's that you cast a vision of
00:01:50 00:01:54 you're trying to build a new house or
00:01:52 00:01:55 new construction and it seems like
00:01:54 00:01:57 there's nowhere to go to really
00:01:55 00:01:59 understand who are all the companies out
00:01:57 00:02:00 there and who do i actually build a
00:01:59 00:02:02 house with what we want to do is we want
00:02:00 00:02:03 to help you understand
00:02:02 00:02:05 how to build a house here in the south
00:02:03 00:02:07 metro with the different types of
00:02:05 00:02:09 builders we want to describe who we are
00:02:07 00:02:10 and who even our competitors are so that
00:02:09 00:02:12 you know what you're getting with each
00:02:10 00:02:13 one um because our goal is that you
00:02:12 00:02:16 would be we hoped that you would come to
00:02:13 00:02:17 us um but we want you to know who we are
00:02:16 00:02:18 as a builder because if you understand
00:02:17 00:02:21 who that is then you want to take a step
00:02:18 00:02:23 with us um anyways so you cast vision
00:02:21 00:02:24 like that now what i want to get into is
00:02:23 00:02:26 if you're not good at speaking
00:02:24 00:02:28 extemporaneously and you can never spit
00:02:26 00:02:30 you're never going to have
00:02:28 00:02:32 the ability to do that okay
00:02:30 00:02:34 um
00:02:32 00:02:37 in fact maybe i restart this nah we'll
00:02:34 00:02:39 just go um if you can't do that just
00:02:37 00:02:41 write a script write a script and what
00:02:39 00:02:42 you should do is do the initial intro
00:02:41 00:02:44 real quick and the initial interest
00:02:42 00:02:46 should just be hey everybody my name is
00:02:44 00:02:49 rob and we do we have a little tax firm
00:02:46 00:02:51 we do taxes bookkeeping and accounting
00:02:49 00:02:52 for small businesses
00:02:51 00:02:54 but really what we do and then you have
00:02:52 00:02:57 this transition of some sort and what we
00:02:54 00:02:58 specialize in or what we really do or
00:02:57 00:03:00 you know what we really try to work on
00:02:58 00:03:02 and our main thing that we try and push
00:03:00 00:03:03 whatever that is and then just go into
00:03:02 00:03:06 presentations where it's just it could
00:03:03 00:03:08 be b-roll stok video that's a b-roll a
00:03:06 00:03:10 stok video or video that goes along in
00:03:08 00:03:14 the background and then what you can do
00:03:10 00:03:16 is write out the thing word for word
00:03:14 00:03:17 word for word and write it the way you
00:03:16 00:03:19 speak it
00:03:17 00:03:22 and and transcribe that and then just
00:03:19 00:03:24 absolutely say it 15 20 times in a row
00:03:22 00:03:26 so that you can just spit it and do it
00:03:24 00:03:27 effectively
00:03:26 00:03:30 that's how you do it if you're not good
00:03:27 00:03:31 at video okay you write a script right
00:03:30 00:03:33 the other thing that you'll see is if
00:03:31 00:03:35 you're not good at speaking or if you
00:03:33 00:03:36 get kind of
00:03:35 00:03:38 here's some things that i want you to do
00:03:36 00:03:40 number one um
00:03:38 00:03:42 you are who you are and people listen to
00:03:40 00:03:44 your voice and they know
00:03:42 00:03:45 perfection is not the goal
00:03:44 00:03:46 um
00:03:45 00:03:48 certainly you want to make sure that
00:03:46 00:03:49 you're engaging you don't want to be
00:03:48 00:03:52 unprepared you don't want to look super
00:03:49 00:03:54 unprofessional right that being said so
00:03:52 00:03:57 many people i watch try and do videos
00:03:54 00:03:59 and they're so worried that they never
00:03:57 00:04:02 actually create okay you just have to
00:03:59 00:04:03 swing the bat you have to make a video
00:04:02 00:04:05 and as long as you're trying to add
00:04:03 00:04:06 value to people you're trying to help
00:04:05 00:04:10 people go from here to there as long as
00:04:06 00:04:12 you're doing that then fail forward make
00:04:10 00:04:14 10 videos put them on youtube and
00:04:12 00:04:15 facebook and instagram and tiktok
00:04:14 00:04:18 right take them put them onto youtube
00:04:15 00:04:20 and just create and then get feedback
00:04:18 00:04:22 okay you have to learn from what you're
00:04:20 00:04:24 doing right and take it with a grain of
00:04:22 00:04:25 salt right in a way it's the most
00:04:24 00:04:27 vulnerable thing in the world this is
00:04:25 00:04:30 what you just got to get over with you
00:04:27 00:04:32 have to get over the thought that if you
00:04:30 00:04:34 try to do this people are going to tell
00:04:32 00:04:36 you bad things yeah they will people are
00:04:34 00:04:37 going to be mean online whoop do you do
00:04:36 00:04:39 that's a them thing not a you thing
00:04:37 00:04:42 right and
00:04:39 00:04:44 ultimately you're creating right and you
00:04:42 00:04:45 think about how much
00:04:44 00:04:47 guts it takes
00:04:45 00:04:49 you know my grandpa when he got older
00:04:47 00:04:51 when he was about 70 years old decided
00:04:49 00:04:53 he wanted to paint he's a farmer he
00:04:51 00:04:55 never painted in his life and when he
00:04:53 00:04:57 died his paintings were kind of you know
00:04:55 00:04:59 they were what they were you know was it
00:04:57 00:05:00 rembrandt no
00:04:59 00:05:01 they looked like my grandpa learned how
00:05:00 00:05:04 to paint people
00:05:01 00:05:05 now his paintings are funny because from
00:05:04 00:05:07 far off they look really good and then
00:05:05 00:05:10 as you get closer like okay but the
00:05:07 00:05:11 other day one of my my co-worker byron
00:05:10 00:05:14 um he was doing his funeral so my gran
00:05:11 00:05:17 my grandpa died at the age of 93 or
00:05:14 00:05:19 whatever what i can't even remember now
00:05:17 00:05:20 um and he was looking at the videos that
00:05:19 00:05:22 i had done of his art of his painting
00:05:20 00:05:24 and my my grandpa became a prolific
00:05:22 00:05:25 painter he just painted and painted and
00:05:24 00:05:27 painted
00:05:25 00:05:29 when he died he wasn't a perfect painter
00:05:27 00:05:33 he wasn't even a great painter he was a
00:05:29 00:05:34 decent painter but from where he started
00:05:33 00:05:36 it was totally different
00:05:34 00:05:38 and the bottom line was
00:05:36 00:05:40 is that now he did painting to enjoy
00:05:38 00:05:42 things right now if you're creating
00:05:40 00:05:43 videos to help people
00:05:42 00:05:44 people will
00:05:43 00:05:47 come along with you in this journey
00:05:44 00:05:48 right now the key if you really want to
00:05:47 00:05:51 get better at something is you have to
00:05:48 00:05:54 seek mastery of it and one of the things
00:05:51 00:05:55 in seeking mastery is to get feedback
00:05:54 00:05:57 now you don't want to get feedback from
00:05:55 00:05:59 just anybody they should be somebody
00:05:57 00:06:00 that kind of understands it but the
00:05:59 00:06:03 values you and your relationship and
00:06:00 00:06:05 values and what they're for you they're
00:06:03 00:06:06 not a wicked person or a foolish person
00:06:05 00:06:08 you don't go to fools you don't go to
00:06:06 00:06:09 wicked people people that'll hurt you
00:06:08 00:06:10 don't do that
00:06:09 00:06:13 you get a small group of people that you
00:06:10 00:06:16 respect that have some insight they have
00:06:13 00:06:18 some credibility in this and ask for
00:06:16 00:06:20 good honest feedback
00:06:18 00:06:21 don't look for people to tell you what
00:06:20 00:06:23 they like it doesn't matter they should
00:06:21 00:06:25 tell you what what they actually
00:06:23 00:06:27 specifically like about your video and
00:06:25 00:06:29 then you should give them permission to
00:06:27 00:06:32 eviscerate it
00:06:29 00:06:34 scale each part of your video scale one
00:06:32 00:06:34 to ten what would you actually change
00:06:34 00:06:37 right
00:06:34 00:06:39 and what's funny is to a degree your
00:06:37 00:06:40 metrics on youtube would tell you
00:06:39 00:06:42 whether or not you're doing a good job
00:06:40 00:06:44 of that and so will your sales calls and
00:06:42 00:06:46 stuff but
00:06:44 00:06:48 if you can just create and create and
00:06:46 00:06:50 create and create and then invite some
00:06:48 00:06:52 people to speak
00:06:50 00:06:54 full truth to you
00:06:52 00:06:57 like full truth hurt your feelings kind
00:06:54 00:07:01 of truth right rob you got to shave look
00:06:57 00:07:03 at you you look like you look ugly right
00:07:01 00:07:05 okay i want to hear that you got to work
00:07:03 00:07:07 on your lighting your audio is trash
00:07:05 00:07:09 right your visuals need to be better
00:07:07 00:07:10 now again a credible person who cares
00:07:09 00:07:12 about you and loves you not a wicked
00:07:10 00:07:14 person or a fool a fool is just ignorant
00:07:12 00:07:15 don't go ask your dumb drinking buddy to
00:07:14 00:07:17 come and give you feedback on your well
00:07:15 00:07:18 maybe you do um you know the goal would
00:07:17 00:07:20 be to get
00:07:18 00:07:23 a good credible person to help you so
00:07:20 00:07:25 anyways if you just create
00:07:23 00:07:26 and if you move forward you can script
00:07:25 00:07:27 it you can move forward but i'm telling
00:07:26 00:07:29 you
00:07:27 00:07:31 if you just
00:07:29 00:07:32 create that's going to help you right
00:07:31 00:07:35 now the other thing that you should know
00:07:32 00:07:37 is that if you get a good editor
00:07:35 00:07:40 and as long as you can say something and
00:07:37 00:07:42 go and then come back
00:07:40 00:07:43 and say something and go you can
00:07:42 00:07:45 you can get an editor to help you you
00:07:43 00:07:47 can do it in post production where you
00:07:45 00:07:48 lay it down and you just cut out all the
00:07:47 00:07:50 parts
00:07:48 00:07:52 um and that's where you might have to
00:07:50 00:07:54 teach yourself video editing so that you
00:07:52 00:07:55 understand it really well but
00:07:54 00:07:56 again you're gonna do well if what
00:07:55 00:07:58 you're doing is you're helping people
00:07:56 00:07:59 with a real problem
00:07:58 00:08:00 help them move upward and forward the
00:07:59 00:08:03 problem could be that they need to be
00:08:00 00:08:05 entertained or they want you know
00:08:03 00:08:06 there's a lot of big youtube channels
00:08:05 00:08:06 out there where it doesn't seem like
00:08:06 00:08:09 they're
00:08:06 00:08:10 actually solving a problem but one of
00:08:09 00:08:13 the problem could be that they want to
00:08:10 00:08:14 be entertained they want to have a smile
00:08:13 00:08:16 they want to have a smile that's clean
00:08:14 00:08:18 and it's not dirty or maybe they want to
00:08:16 00:08:19 they have a problem that they love
00:08:18 00:08:22 visuals and they want to be engrossed in
00:08:19 00:08:23 a story right there are all sorts of
00:08:22 00:08:25 problems i tok about core business
00:08:23 00:08:27 problems but there might be an array of
00:08:25 00:08:29 problems that the problem is that they
00:08:27 00:08:31 want to smile right they want more joy
00:08:29 00:08:33 in their life right and so what you want
00:08:31 00:08:35 to do is poke fun at things and be a
00:08:33 00:08:37 comedian whatever that is right um but
00:08:35 00:08:39 if you don't just start creating you're
00:08:37 00:08:41 never going to have any work to work
00:08:39 00:08:43 from and and you will learn 10 times
00:08:41 00:08:45 more by creating 50 videos in our own
00:08:43 00:08:47 getting good quality feedback and
00:08:45 00:08:48 adapting and learning and adapting and
00:08:47 00:08:52 learning and make those changes be
00:08:48 00:08:54 nimble and don't get defensive when you
00:08:52 00:08:56 get this feedback
00:08:54 00:08:58 there's no need to defend it sometimes
00:08:56 00:08:59 you need to clarify what you're trying
00:08:58 00:09:01 to do
00:08:59 00:09:03 and ask them is that a good thing right
00:09:01 00:09:06 if i were to go out to a random person
00:09:03 00:09:08 and ask in fact i made a tik-tok video
00:09:06 00:09:09 one time and this gal and it was i was
00:09:08 00:09:12 making a point like i think that public
00:09:09 00:09:14 education is not that helpful and i hope
00:09:12 00:09:16 that their monopoly ends right so i was
00:09:14 00:09:17 poking a little bit at teachers because
00:09:16 00:09:19 this gal was complaining about her pain
00:09:17 00:09:20 i think teachers could be paid what but
00:09:19 00:09:22 this gal came in she's like oh i know
00:09:20 00:09:25 why you don't have very many views
00:09:22 00:09:27 because you're ugly and i'm like
00:09:25 00:09:29 yeah you're probably right
00:09:27 00:09:31 yup i think if i had an hourglass figure
00:09:29 00:09:33 and it was super handsome i think this
00:09:31 00:09:34 would be a lot easier right but i have
00:09:33 00:09:36 two and a half million views on youtube
00:09:34 00:09:37 for a reason it's because i'm trying to
00:09:36 00:09:38 help people and the reason why i'm
00:09:37 00:09:41 trying to help people is because it's a
00:09:38 00:09:43 calling for me right and so what's funny
00:09:41 00:09:45 is if i ask fools that are just trying
00:09:43 00:09:47 to be entertained or who like to dunk on
00:09:45 00:09:49 people on the internet is this video
00:09:47 00:09:50 accomplishing what it is they're not
00:09:49 00:09:52 going to give you qualified credible
00:09:50 00:09:54 feedback but if i approach people that
00:09:52 00:09:56 understand what i'm trying to accomplish
00:09:54 00:09:58 and have an appreciation so it could be
00:09:56 00:10:01 peers it could be outsiders you need to
00:09:58 00:10:02 get a group of advisors around you where
00:10:01 00:10:04 every time you make something you send
00:10:02 00:10:05 it out you gather some feedback
00:10:04 00:10:07 and be all right
00:10:05 00:10:10 sharing your 6 out of 10 video right see
00:10:07 00:10:11 what happens share it take the risk just
00:10:10 00:10:13 do it and create because no matter what
00:10:11 00:10:15 as you create you're going to get better
00:10:13 00:10:18 from feedback you're going to get better
00:10:15 00:10:20 from learning what happens right um
00:10:18 00:10:22 my story on youtube is kind of weird i
00:10:20 00:10:23 made videos and nothing happened then
00:10:22 00:10:25 all of a sudden a couple of them took
00:10:23 00:10:28 off and it's because i was teaching what
00:10:25 00:10:30 an s-corp in an llc was and because i
00:10:28 00:10:32 made it a dec it was working in person
00:10:30 00:10:34 that was funny i was making hay off of
00:10:32 00:10:35 these presentations i put it on youtube
00:10:34 00:10:37 did nothing for it and it sat there for
00:10:35 00:10:38 a year the tax difference between elsie
00:10:37 00:10:40 and escort video just sat there for a
00:10:38 00:10:42 year all of a sudden one person watched
00:10:40 00:10:44 it two people ten people a hundred boom
00:10:42 00:10:46 ten thousand a day and uh and then their
00:10:44 00:10:49 business blew up from it ours theirs
00:10:46 00:10:50 because they cheated me but and i left
00:10:49 00:10:51 but
00:10:50 00:10:53 long story short folks
00:10:51 00:10:55 if you want to get good at videos
00:10:53 00:10:57 again know the types of videos that are
00:10:55 00:10:59 out there for your business make sure
00:10:57 00:11:02 that you establish your one your brand
00:10:59 00:11:03 scripting and everything like that
00:11:02 00:11:05 make sure that you internalize that so
00:11:03 00:11:06 that you could just spit and speak
00:11:05 00:11:08 extemporaneously that's going to serve
00:11:06 00:11:10 you really well then if you make sure
00:11:08 00:11:12 that you just help people go from here
00:11:10 00:11:14 to there if you're helping people no
00:11:12 00:11:15 matter what you're going to know what to
00:11:14 00:11:17 tok about to a degree
00:11:15 00:11:19 then the next thing is is to just create
00:11:17 00:11:20 just move forward just try it you got to
00:11:19 00:11:23 i would say practike practike practike
00:11:20 00:11:24 practike practike spit spit into the
00:11:23 00:11:26 camera make 20 videos that you don't
00:11:24 00:11:27 release send them out to people get
00:11:26 00:11:29 feedback send them out to people get
00:11:27 00:11:32 feedback get feedback the other thing
00:11:29 00:11:34 get mastery go watch good presenters you
00:11:32 00:11:35 know what who is it that actually
00:11:34 00:11:37 creates excellent content out there i
00:11:35 00:11:38 would say go listen to the pastors of
00:11:37 00:11:41 this world you know there's only a
00:11:38 00:11:44 couple groups of people that speak 52
00:11:41 00:11:47 days 52 times a year and it's pastors
00:11:44 00:11:49 preachers right go pay attention to
00:11:47 00:11:50 preaching and training videos because it
00:11:49 00:11:52 will show you how to communicate for
00:11:50 00:11:54 change in fact there's a book by andy
00:11:52 00:11:56 stanley called communicating for a
00:11:54 00:11:58 change communicating for a change by
00:11:56 00:12:00 andy stanley you should go read it in
00:11:58 00:12:00 fact in there is this whole idea that
00:12:00 00:12:02 you know
00:12:00 00:12:04 essentially preaching
00:12:02 00:12:07 so i'm a jesus boy or i'm a jesus father
00:12:04 00:12:09 i think jesus is i believe 100 in the
00:12:07 00:12:11 bible like i'm about as on that as you
00:12:09 00:12:14 can possibly get actually i am
00:12:11 00:12:17 and jesus said you're stuck in your sin
00:12:14 00:12:19 but i have new life for you in fact if
00:12:17 00:12:22 you just believe in me and follow me
00:12:19 00:12:24 you will have eternal life a b i want to
00:12:22 00:12:25 give you life here now i want to give
00:12:24 00:12:26 you more love joy peace patience
00:12:25 00:12:28 kindness goodness faithfulness
00:12:26 00:12:30 gentleness and self-control and what
00:12:28 00:12:31 jesus did was essentially do what i'm
00:12:30 00:12:34 toking about in fact this whole idea
00:12:31 00:12:36 that he came and said you're stuck here
00:12:34 00:12:38 i can show you with there in fact all it
00:12:36 00:12:41 costs you is everything
00:12:38 00:12:42 but also just simple faith right and so
00:12:41 00:12:44 what's weird is that a preacher is
00:12:42 00:12:46 usually trying to help us each one of us
00:12:44 00:12:47 are stuck in so many different sins in
00:12:46 00:12:48 different ways and every day we get
00:12:47 00:12:51 stuck in a different sin and what
00:12:48 00:12:54 they're trying to do is to show me we
00:12:51 00:12:57 god you we me i personally have a prada
00:12:54 00:12:59 problem of sin don't we all have the
00:12:57 00:13:01 same thing here's what god said to solve
00:12:59 00:13:04 this problem here's here's the problem
00:13:01 00:13:06 we all have it here's a solution and
00:13:04 00:13:09 here's the result me we got you we so
00:13:06 00:13:10 it's me i have the problem we don't we
00:13:09 00:13:13 all have it here's what god said here's
00:13:10 00:13:16 the solution and then imagine
00:13:13 00:13:17 a result if you changed it and i changed
00:13:16 00:13:19 it in our life the result and then
00:13:17 00:13:21 imagine a world the big picture of all
00:13:19 00:13:23 of us do it right so that's all from
00:13:21 00:13:25 andy stanley's communicating for a
00:13:23 00:13:27 change he also toks about how to
00:13:25 00:13:29 how to prepare people to switch and and
00:13:27 00:13:30 it's excellent but i would pay attention
00:13:29 00:13:32 to preachers if you want to be a good
00:13:30 00:13:34 youtuber you want to be a good video
00:13:32 00:13:36 maker go get some training and preaching
00:13:34 00:13:38 whether you believe that or not i'm
00:13:36 00:13:40 telling you these people speak 52 times
00:13:38 00:13:42 a year who else does that
00:13:40 00:13:43 not many people do that and they have to
00:13:42 00:13:45 do it to people that and then invite
00:13:43 00:13:48 them in to volunteer and give you money
00:13:45 00:13:48 that's crazy good luck god bless
