if you're just starting out with drop shipping, you probably ask yourself which payment gateway should i use- shopify payments, paypal or stripe- or maybe you're from a country where one of those options i've just mentioned are not available, or you have faced the worst case scenario, which is one of those platforms so to hold your funds for like six months, and it doesn't matter in which category you currently fall into right now, at one point you will get into a worst case scenario where one of those platforms will start to hold your funds and you want to be prepared. i mean, i've heard stories from people that had fifty thousand dollars locked up by people for like six months- and because i don't want you to end up in that situation, with thousands of dollars locked in in some kind of payment processor that simply doesn't give you your money, i'm going to show you the best alternatives for shopify payments, stripe and paypal you can currently use. now, at this point, i'm not going to ask you to like this video and subscribe to the channel, because, first of all, i want to provide you value. first of all, i want to give you the information that helps you prevent all of this and then, after you've watched this whole video right here. you can decide if you like this video and you want to subscribe to this channel for more information like that. with that being said, let's dive right in, and the first thing i want to tok about is: why do they even hold funds like? what's the advantage for them? and if you understand why those companies hold funds like white stripe, paypal and shopify payments, decide to hold your money for a certain amount of time, you can prevent the 90 of the problems you're going to run into, and the number one thing that you're looking at is the customer satisfaction. see, what they want is the customer coming back over and over again because this way they are earning their money. they are getting their payment processing fees from you because the customers spend money with you. now here's the thing: how those companies act nowadays is like a middleman between you and the customer, and they are making sure that both parties have been treated fairly and with respect and both have been getting the thing they want: you, that you get your money, and the customer- they got your, their products. now the problem is if there's anything not right, most of the times the customer is the one that's getting the advantage and you are the one that's being screwed over by the payment processor, and the reason for that is that drop shipping is classified as a high risk business model by most of these payment processing companies. and the reason why dropshipping is classified as a high-risk business model is pretty simple: a lot of dropshippers they don't care about how long the shipping times are. most of the times it's more than four weeks. i mean, if you go to aliexpress right now and click on one random product, i bet it will arrive in late september, early october, and right now it's end of august at the time of recording this now. the second reason is poor product quality and the third reason is they have really to know customer support, and those three main reasons is what pisses customers off and why they want their money back. this way, you have an unusual amount of claims and refunds, and this is the reason why drop shipping in general is classified as a high-risk business model. i mean, just think about yourself how you'd feel if you would order a product online and after the confirmation email there was no further information for you, like for three weeks you would hear nothing from the company. then you try to reach the customer support and nobody answers you and after four to five weeks, you receive a product package in a dirt bag that smells like garbage and, when you pack it out, like it doesn't look like a high quality product. i mean, you would want your money back as well, right? so what we're going to do now is i'm going to show you exactly how you can prevent your funds from being held by those payment processors. i'm going to rank those payment processes for you and then i'm going to show you all the alternatives. you can use paypal's drive and shopify payments. now let's take a look at the payment processors individually and how likely they are to hold your money, and number one is paypal. it doesn't matter what you do, at one point people will start to hold your money. that's why they are the last place. they are not pleasant to deal with as a seller. as a buyer, it's amazing, but as a seller like you're basically screwed if you are drop shipping and they find it out in some way. so what happens? at a certain point, maybe after five thousand dollars in revenue for paypal, maybe up for ten thousand dollars in revenue for people, they will start holding your money and they will start asking for company documents, and you should be prepared to show them the company documents. they will ask you for proof of inventory. they will ask you all those things. as a dropshipper, you most likely won't be able to answer. so paypal is the last rank of this ranking. right here next up is stripe and, honestly, i never had any problems with stripe. what they're doing is they're processing your credit card payments and then they're simply paying it to your bank account, and i never had any problems, besides one time where i had a slightly higher refund rate than usual. that's because i had problems with my supplier. and what they did is they held like five percent of my money for one month and after the month, i received a message from them where they told me like hey, we've seen that your refund rate is back down and we will stop holding five percent of your money. so this is everything that happened. and the last thing is shopify payments. now here's the thing. uh, i personally don't use a lot of shopify. i personally prefer clickfunnels over shopify, but i also did not hear that many bad things about shopify payments. okay, so this is kind of the ranking. paypal is on place number three, unfortunately, then strive and then shopify payments, but only because i don't have to say that much about shopify payments, because personally, i haven't used that much. now, really quickly, before i show you the other options to paypal stripe and shopify payments, i want to tok about how you can prevent those companies in the first place from holding your funds in ninety percent of the cases. now, if you don't care about how you can prevent this from happening right here, and if you don't want to save a ton of money, then you can jump right to the topic. if you haven't seen it, yes, i have chapters inside of this video so you can jump right into the part where i tok about the alternative payment processors. if you're interested in learning how you can prevent your funds from being held in 90 of the case and how you can get happier customers, let's tok about it right now. now those tips right here i want to promise you, at no partikular order. all of them are going to help you universally, and the first tip, and most important one, is: get quick shipping. okay, and i hope you can read it and all my hand drawing sucks, but you want to get quick shipping times. see, we are not in 2017 anymore where it's pretty hard to get like 14 day shipping times. all you have to do is go to like: either go to aliexpress and search for suppliers that already have the product stored in the usa. you can go to cj drop shipping. they have quicker shipping tanks. use a drop sand drop there. tons of options out there on how you can get the product delivered in less than 14 days to your customers. this will alone reduce your refund rate tremendously, because the anger of people is growing exponentially long. they have to wait for their products. okay, so this is the first tip i want to give you right here. tip number two is: give people their tracking numbers. see, people love to see where their product is and they want to see the progress on how long it will take for them to arrive at you. and i can understand why people don't want t.

in this video i want to tok about the important topic of payment gateway. specifically, when you are making six figures, seven figures and more, you start to have problems with your payment processors, the companies that help you make money, like stripe and shopify payments and paypal. you probably heard the horror stories about them banning your accounts, and i'm going to show you exactly what to do to get rid of those payment processors, which ones should you use. and let's say that you're from a country that is not supported by any of these- stripe paypal- you got nothing. i'm gonna show you the workaround for that and how you can get a really strong payment processor, specifically if you're making a lot of money. let's go now. first thing to note is that stripe, shopify payments and paypal are essential in the beginning. when you are starting your business. a lot of people they hear the horror stories of paypal. hey, i got a hundred thousand dollars stuck in my paypal account for six months and they don't want to deal with this thing well in the beginning. a lot of your customers are actually going to pay with paypal. they're going to pay with stripe. they like the interface. it's going to get you sales easier, so it's going to be hard for you to start your business, get your first couple of sales if you are not utilizing any of those tools. so, even though they are pretty bad processors, when you're scaling, when you're starting in the very beginning, you want to take advantage of those and actually use them. now, once you start scaling to, let's say, your first 20 000 up to 50 000, that's when you should start exploring better payment gateways. the one that i personally recommend is called easy pay direct. i actually use them. we make 100 000 per month with them and they're absolutely amazing. so easy pay direct: what they do is they're essentially a middleman to what's called a mid, which is a merchant processor, a merchant bank, however you want to call it. so easy pay connects you to a bank. we have multiple banks that we have inside of our easy pay direct account and they actually process your payments. so, let's say, you're making a hundred thousand dollars a month, you might get easy pay as your middleman or as a company that's helping you get a merchant, and then you'll have five merchants, twenty thousand on each. now the problem with easy pay, or the problem with all these middle men payment gateways, is that it takes longer to get approved. the application process is a little bit more annoying and they also to connect you to these merchant banks connected to these merchant processors. each one has a different application, so you can't just go and apply for like 20 of them. you need to apply one by one, by one. but once you get it, it's absolutely amazing, especially from if you're from the us or canada. once you have one of these merchant processors, you are going to be absolutely golden. the other awesome thing that they provide is chargeback protection. now, they did not pay me for this- it's not an ad, but i absolutely love them and, as you can see, i actually have my own account here and this is how the back end looks like, so i'm going to show you a little bit over in the back end, you have the credit cards here for if you want to take a payment manually, you have electronic checks, recurring payments. if you're getting somebody on a subscription, you have your customer vault, which is all of your customers, invoices, apps, collect, checkout. if you're gonna get like a draft order or somebody's gonna buy from you at that something that's not on your shop, you got the product manager for your products, other services and transaction reports. you can click on that and see how much money you're actually making with your easy pay account. now the other cool thing that they provide is chargeback protection. so chargeback protection- let's say that in one week you get three chargebacks. instead of those chargebacks posting as chargebacks, they post as a as a request for a chargeback, and when you get those chargebacks, you either tok to the customer or you decide just to refund the payment and then it doesn't get posted as a chargeback as it would on stripe or paypal, like a dispute on paypal, so it actually just gets posted as a request. you can refund it, it's refunded and you're done and your merchant, which is the one that easy pay connects you to. they don't actually put that charge back through and affects your account and can get you potentially banned. so also that chargeback protection is absolutely amazing. their support is also really good. so if you have any questions, you can just email them or call them, and their team is very small, so i don't want to really pressure them too much by sending them too many people, because their team is like two to three people. they're actually dealing with a lot of clients. they're great, i love them and if you're looking for a much better solution, specifically for scaling. easy pay is definitely something that i recommend for you. now, let's say that you're from a country that does not support stripe paypal and maybe you applied for easy pay and they told you: yeah, we don't accept people from algeria. let's say then you kind of are stuck in this limbo of what do i do? i want to start making money, but i don't have a payment processor. there's also other payment processors like to checkout, which is pretty terrible. so what do you do in that moment, thinking, what am i going to do? well, the the thing that you might want to do, and that i highly recommend you to do has worked for a lot of my students- is to actually incorporate a company in the united states. you can do that with a company like legalzoom. it's a huge company, billions of dollars they make and, for example, i'm in the united arab emirates, in dubai, right now, and when you go to the website to legal assume it'll populate to your website- us legal help for businesses and families in whatever your country is. specifically if it's a country that is not a stripe uh country or as a paypal country, you can definitely just start an llc. you can go to the llc tab right here and then, after you click on the llc, you just put what you want to call your llc. so let's just put um youtubers united or youtube viewers united, check availability, and then you want to put an estate. i would recommend you do a lot more research on this. the best states depend on your partikular situation. so you might want to choose wyoming if you want to have a little bit of an anonymous aspect to your llc. you might want to choose arizona if you want more of not being anonymous but having a lot of protection. so it depends. let's say we put it in arizona, which is one of the best states to incorporate a company, unless you live in arizona. if you live in arizona, then it's it's a different deal. but let's say that right here, youtubers viewers united appears to be available and then you can click on get my llc and actually pay for it. so if you pay- i think it's around 200 to 300 for the slow moving process- you get your own llc, your own legal company in the united states. now this doesn't help you that much because you don't get a bank account, you don't get a stripe account, nothing like that. Pros: they use a flat rate, pressing structure, they have Global reach and they support a wide constellation of payments. what about accounts? well, this verifone service is not available is not available, for it is now available to Shopify store owners who sell products considered to be high risk. okay. now, if you want to know more about the high-risk products, you want to contact the viral phone and they'll let you know. number eight we have here. I'm referring to Visa, JCB, Discover, Mastercard, dinners Club- okay and uh. I mean downers Club, downers Club in the American Express- okay and uh. so it is very secure, also, okay, and they have a great pricing structure. usually they want you to. they have a set of fee of 49 and a 2.9 plus 30 cents fee per transaction. here are the pros and cons. pros: they do cover a wide constellation of currencies and payment options. okay, they have a robust fraud protection, fraud prevention and security system and they have excellent customer service. here are the cons: the think here is that authorize that and that may be a little more, a little bit more expensive for some store orders. okay, and as a Shopify store owner, you may find it that they're all in one option confusing, but that if that's what you want, hey, go for it. foreign nine over ten. so when you think about Square, I want you to.

How To Setup Shopify Payment Gateway (Easy)

hello guys, welcome back to another step-by-step video tutorial on how to create your payment Gateway for Shopify. so of course you'll be um on the shopifycom website and homepage. of course, to start just log on to your site. if you've not actually made an account yet and you're just Gathering some information, of course you can start your free trial over here and create your account by clicking and entering your email in the Box over here. I've got an account so I'm going to quickly load. now here we are on our um admin page, um on the the home page of your Shopify store and if you've obviously created um your products and your your details, you'll see that all of these I've tiked and that you've completed that and for the sake of this video, I'm going to skip it to the payment option. of course, if you're just starting out, please make sure that you obviously um click through these options and get them all set up before you get to the top of them. set up your Shopify payments. now to obviously set up the payment Gateway, just you can skip ahead and click the settings at the bottom left corner. here you'll see there's some options on the left hand side and you can click from a bit just to fill that out. but, um, for this video, we're going to click to the payment option on the left hand side, so you'll see it straight away that there is some options to click through and we'll briefly run through them all before we pick one and I'll show you how to set it up. but, just in case, there is the option to do manual payment methods, and at the bottom here you can actually click certain specific options, for example, a bank deposit and a money order or cash on delivery or Co do Cod, and so you can use that in case that's the partikular method you want to use. or you can, of course, create a custom payment method. um, for example, maybe if you're wanting to trade something, Shopify has approval payment at providers, for example, and PayPal and Amazon pay. so you can actually just um set these up as well by clicking these options and just um having your store correct paper and collect PayPal payments or Amazon and pay as well. so all I'm going to do is see all other providers, um, just to get this started, and look at the alternative options and straight we'll we'll load up all third-party payment providers. so these are providers outside of the Shopify and you can scroll down. you see there's a big um, big selection of different options. they're really all. they're all there always is um. some are unavailable in your country, so you'll see if it's. if that's the case, it'll be um stated just underneath the um the provider. so it says here: unavailable in your country. but over here there's a big selection of other options to use. uh, generally speaking, you want to go for the one that does provide um the most availability. so um, for example, these ones here are very good. so it provides a lot of different options. um, um, and the big ones in partikular, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, are all the big ones, but also has some additionals like discover, DCB or Diners Club, the two. Checker is a popular one, so I'll be clicking that um to begin and you'll see straight away that there is um some steps to do just to get this all set up for your Shopify business. so we will be going through each step and one by one, to show you how this all works, because it looks a bit complicated. to begin, you of course need to create a checker account, and so if you just click this um, a new tab will open up and it'll teach this website here. so of course, we just need to sign up for free and it does say as well below intricate with cards like Shopify and Wix, so let's just set up the account. so it is free. so all you need to do is fill out these details and with your business, okay. so I've then put through some details just now. it does ask you for your website. now you can just use the, the website that your Shopify. it gives for you so you can see it's um created here, and so I'm just going to click that and copy this for just now and you'll have a custom website yourself. I've got to paste that in and just collect, make sure the country is correct for you and then just do your captcha and then get started. I had an issue using Chrome and it kept loading the login and the create user options, so I actually did this on Microsoft Edge and that seemed to fix a problem. the next page: it comes to our number two. it says create your two check and check out account and I know and whatever product you want to sell. so of course there's the option for digital projects, online services, retail, physical products. offline, of course you'll be doing Drop shifting Shop and Drop shifting on Shopify and so we're going to be clicking this option here and they're going to click again create account, and that took a minute to load. but, um, once it has done, it takes you to this website here and you can log into your account. so it is new to the very phone website where you can type in your yeah username and your password to get this set up. now, here we are on to the um kind of home page for you for your two checkout account. now, if we go back to the Shopify, it says now login and activate your to checkout account and then access Integrations, um web Hooks and API section in your cpanel. so let's go over here to the start activation and then essentially just going to fill this out step by step and to get sorted. and you do have to have some identification documents and Company documents to complete this process. so just make sure you have that handy um, but go through each option step by step. so of course, you also have to add in some of your um information here at your company name, your business type, um, for example, there's individual partnership, private Corporation, public corporation, company registration date and similar details here. um, there's options as well for some Financial details and your stakeholder details, in case you have any a bit of information about your product. so, again, of course, if it's Digital Services, retail and Drop Shipping, for example, you can click that option here. have your process, online transaction for this type of business, of course you can enter that and you can do a product as access instruction for review and next tab is, of course, the account settings. so again, um, you can click through this as well. over onto the documents tab. you have to input your Company ownership documents, tax identification documents and valid proof of address and any additional documents here. after you have done that, there's the option M for somebody and this will just verify everything that you have. um, you filled out. anything that you've left blank already you need to have filled out. it will be highlighted in rent read. anything that is mandatory you will have to fill out, and once you've done that, of course you can then submit it over here in the bottom corner and that'll take a couple of days for it all to be verified and accepted. um, but once that has been done and you will be notified for some information that you don't quite have just yet, of course you can save it for later and come back once you have all the information that is required and that is mandatory. so back to the Shopify tab. um, it says now for step three, we need to access Integrations, webpooks and API section in your cpanel. so, going back again to our very phone or to checkout um website, there is um a tab over here for integration- integration, so you can see here, web Hooks and API. so we can click that option here and it'll start displaying some of our information. it says now, under the API section, copy the merchant code and paste it in the merchant code file field on this page and in the secret word section. so down here we can see over here. so if we click back we'll look for our metric code, which is this option here, so I can copy that and paste it in here. it will ask to ask as well for the secret word. so over here we can see the secret word down here. so, uh, with the secret word or the ins, we can just generate it, we can copy it and then just make sure we.

hey everybody, welcome back to another video. it's trevor here, and in today's video i'm going to give you six different alternatives to shopify payments as a payment gateway for your shopify website. now, um, we're going to jump into some of the alternatives to shopify payments. main reasons why we want to steer away from shopify payments is that shopify payments does put holds in the beginning for new people, new drop shippers or new people making sales on shopify and receiving payments via shopify payments. usually there's holds of 25 to 30 percent of your total balance and when scaling this could be massive and could be a bigger headache than paypal holding your balance for 21 days. so we want to stay away from shopify payments in the beginning and then we can move back to shopify payments if we do choose to. once we establish some sales history with shopify, or if you have a larger budget, then you can use shopify payments. so all these gateways inside of this video are not going to be all available in your country. i will be leaving some links to the actual gateways in the supported countries and if your country isn't supported there, unfortunately there isn't much i could do, but i'm going to leave a link: uh, shopify payment gateways that they support. so on screen here, if you go to shopifycom payment dash gateways- i'll leave a link to this as well inside the description and you want to scroll down and find your designated continents- or i'm in north america and we're going to click on united states- you can get a list of different payment providers or payment gateways that are supported with shopify and you can basically just look one up and do a bit of research, uh, maybe find some um threads on reddit and some forums and read up about the actual payment provider and if they have any problems or not, and then try them out and see for, but always have a backup payment gateway just in case. so the first alternative alternative to shopify payments is going to be stripe. now, personally, i really like strike stripe. their user interface is really easy to understand. i'm not going to log in right now, but they are supported by shopify in a lot of different brands. the main benefit of stripe is that they don't hold your money like paypal or shopify payments does. um holds are usually only two days in most cases. um stripe just has pretty decent customer support and doing uh disputes. they have a really easy way of actually filing evidence for that dispute. now, if you go to- i'll bring it over here- strikecom global, you're going to be able to see the supported countries for stripe. now, if your country's on this list, go ahead and use stripe. this is by far my number one recommendation for your payment gateway that you should use besides um shopify payments. so, if your country is on this list, go ahead and use stripe. i highly recommend them. they're really easy to work with and use and this is my number one recommendation for any new shopify store that i open up, i'm gonna straight install stripe right away. super easy and been really liking stripes so far. now the next one on the list is is one that i don't really recommend you guys use, but for some people, they want to do it anyways, and it's gonna be paypal. right, paypal holds your service, holds your money. sometimes in the beginning, after you provide tracking, they should be released within 24 to 48 hours of the tracking, showing that it's delivered. now what paypal? like i always said, proceed with caution. paypal isn't a company that i despise. um, i try to try to avoid them at all costs because they hold your money, they give you problems and for drop shipping, paypal is a definite nightmare and trust me on this- and you don't want to be using paypal if you have to. but for some people they want to use paypal anyways and it's for those people that have large, established brands. they might want to try to use paypal just because customers feel secured when they see the pay with paypal button on the checkout screen. but if you don't use paypal, that doesn't mean that your customers isn't going to trust your website. um, you may lose a few conversions but overall it shouldn't affect your conversion rates um too much at all. but if you do want to use paypal, make sure you withdraw your money every single day. you don't want to get locked up for 180 days because that's a big problem with paypal and e-commerce in general. three is going to be authorizednet now authorizenet- and personally i've seen a lot of people use not just in e-commerce but actually in local businesses like restaurants, bars. they use authorizenet. so i do have a little experience with authorizednet and i would recommend authorizenet if you can't get approved for stripe or you have problems with stripe. now, authorizenet isn't supported in every single country. they're only mainly supported um, they're supported actually in the united states, um, canada, the uk, europe and australia. so if you're in any other countries, like in south america, um, or different other countries, then unfortunately you can't use authorizenet. but you are in any of those, then go ahead and use authorizenet. if you can't get approved or get stripe working, because i, my number one recommendation is just to use stripe right off the bat. now, authorizednet does charge 2.9 plus 30 cents, and this is pretty standard. this is the same rate as paypal, but actually paypal is raising their rates as a very recently, but that was paypal's old rates and i believe that stripes rate as well. so the rates you're not going to be paying extra for authorizenet- and authorizenet is a very trusted um payment gateway, not just from e-commerce owners, but by a lot of other people as well. all right, so let's jump on to payment gateway number four, and it's going to be coinbase commerce. now, coinbase commerce is something new and and you're not going to be receiving payments in fiat, and what fiat is is just basically us dollars, um, great british pounds, australian dollars, canadian dollars, um, you're gonna be receiving it into in crypto. it could be bitcoin, could be, um, i'm pretty sure it's going to be only bitcoin or ethereum, but um, coinbase commerce is basically- it shows a demo right here: you customers can use crypto to pay on your website. now, see, it looks like it showed a bitcoin ethereum in usd coin. so those are the coins you most likely be receiving into your coinbase wallet. now, one thing with crypto is there's going to be hefty fees with withdrawing them. um, now, the fees depends on the platform that you're withdrawing. so this is going to be coinbase. um, you're going to be needing to research the coinbase fees and now i do know there is coinbase pro, but i don't know if they support coinbase ecommerce. um, so you may need to do some research and do that, but you should only use coinbase commerce as a second alternative. um, let's say, you have stripe and you want to add a coin based commerce. you shouldn't have just coinbase commerce, because that limits your potential reach. um of how many people actually know about crypto and are able to pay with crypto in general. so you can add coinbase commerce, um. is it recommended? um, i wouldn't use it right now, but it could be relevant in the future as cryptokurrency gets more, gets more adoption. this is coinbase commerce and feel free to use them if you would like to. just don't use them as your primary payment gateway. now on to the fifth one, and it's gonna be twocheckoutcom. now to checkoutcom, something that i don't really use or have heard of until recently. um. so to check out, the transaction fees are a bit higher than stripe. in authorizenet it's gonna be 3.5 percent um. i'm pretty sure it shows on the website right here under pricing, yet it shows 3.5 percent plus 35 cents per successful sale um. so it is a bit higher than you know, authorizenet, but this with uh, to check out, they do support a lot more countries, over 200 countries, i believe, compared to just 40 with stripes. so if you're, if you, if your country doesn't support stripe, you could.

But Stripe requires a little programming knowledge to customize. the transaction fee is similar to Paypal's - not very cheap. Everybody knows Amazon, the giant tiknology company that just doesn't stop growing. Amazon Pay is their own payment gateway, which means that people who are familiar with the brand will trust it. In the US alone, Amazon Prime already has 112 million users, and it's growing every day. Amazon Pay is convenient. consumers can just log into their Amazon account and use their pre-saved payment information to buy your product. However, there are still cons. Amazon Pay share the same level of transaction fees as Paypal. If you are not a Shopify store owner, then you need to have some programming knowledge to set up Amazon Pay on your online store, And sometimes you will have to pay extra fees like domestik processing fees and cross-border processing fees. Google Pay is another trusted and well-known payment gateway. if you've ever used Google Pay yourself, you will know that it is a very fast, easy and convenient payment method- low transaction fees. it also can save your credit card on your Google account, which makes paying online for a product faster. Although it's cheap and convenient for some phones and countries, the features of Google Pay are still limited. the number of people using Google Pay is still relatively low. So, to draw a conclusion, find out which countries you would like to sell to and what the most popular payment methods in those countries are. Then pick the most popular payment methods, like Shopify Payments or Paypal. If you have trouble with those, you can always try and test some of the smaller ones. Also, if you are just starting up, try not to look at things like pricing too much.
