"Updating Your Shopify Theme Version" - Shopify Tutorial

hi, my name is lauren and i'm a software engineer here at sunrise integration. in today's video we're going to tok about updating your shopify theme and how. it might be a little more complicated than you'd think, especially if you've already updated or edited any code. but not to worry. in today's video we're going to go through two ways you can update your shopify theme without losing any of your customizations. [Music]. if you haven't edited any code, you will actually find that shopify lets you know when there's an update for your theme. there's a drop down where you can see your current theme and view release notes to see what bugs are being fixed and what new features are coming, and then you can just say add theme to library and it'll create a copy of your new theme and merge over your customizations. however, if you have edited any of your code, that drop down will actually disappear, and this is what makes it a little bit trickier to even know if your theme has an update ready. for you to do that, you will have to go straight to the shopify theme store and look at your theme to see the release notes and know if a new theme is out and if you should copy and download it. [Music]. you can use shopify's code editor to find the differences between your current theme and the theme update. these little dots on the side indicate that a file has been changed and you'll want to look at your sectionsliquid files specifically to find what customizations need to be brought over to the theme update. shopify also offers a drop down so you can see older versions, and this is a good tool to use to find the changes in your code. but you still have to go through and inspect to really find what changed, so this could be difficult if you've made lots of big changes to many lines of code. if you've made changes to multiple files and lots of lines of code, then you can use github integration with shopify to be able to compare to the updated theme and your current theme and merge all of those changes together. this is the safest way to ensure that you're not going to break your live site or any of your customizations. the shopify github integration is such a powerful tool for version control and being able to see a backlog of all of your commits, and this is definitely the solution i would recommend for your customized shopify theme and trying to update it. i hope today's video gave you a better idea of how to update your shopify theme and manage your customizations. and if you still need help, our ecommerce experts and developers here at sunrise integration are ready to help. don't forget to hit subscribe for more ecommerce solutions coming soon. Make Your Shopify Product Page Look PROFESSIONAL with Color Swatches, Tabs & Metafields!

in today's video we are going to transform your shopify product pages from this to this. no coding required, no app purchases- anyone can do this. before we get into the video, if you like videos about winning products, drop shipping, shopify themes, apps and tutorials, do us a favor and hit that subscribe button and turn notifications on. now let's get into the video. all right, so i'm using shopify's free theme sense and, by default, here's how the product page looks. it's not bad, but i feel like it's missing a lot of elements such as trust badges, a star rating and customer reviews. all right, first things first. we are going to create a few meta fields. if you look at vessi's website, these little things here are what we're going to be creating. it's a way to organize and store product information without putting it all in your product description box. so things like materials, care instructions, ingredients and etc. vesis has put their product description in these little tabs as well. i have mixed feelings on that, but for this tutorial, we are going to do the same. from your shopify dashboard, click settings, meta fields, products and click add definition. the first one we're going to create is materials, so type in materials, then click select content type and click text. shopify made an update on april 6 where you can now add medified lists. so previously, if you had a list of ingredients, for example, you would type them like this, but with the update you can now type your list like this: to activate that new feature, all you have to do is click this right here: except list of values, click save and we are going to create our next one. click add definition again, start typing care and then care guide should pop up here. click that, then click save. last one: click add definition type description. click select content type, select text, select multi-column text and save. if you're new to meta fields and want to see some more examples of what you can do with them, check out this video here. all right, now let's go to our product listing and if you scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page, you will see the new meta fields here. i'm going to go ahead and copy and paste what i currently have in the description box to both organize my information and save space. the last one here is materials and you can see the list feature in action. all you need to do is click add item to add more lines, or you can click the minus here to delete any you don't need. all right, let's save our work and then we're going to add it into our product page. you'll see here if i view my product. all the information i entered is nowhere to be seen. these tabs here are included by default- the sense theme, but as you can see, they are empty. so click customize on your theme. click on this drop-down menu here. click products- default product. as i mentioned, these tabs here are included with the sense theme already. but if you're using a different theme and don't have these under your product information, click add block and click collapsible row. since these are already here, we are just going to edit them. so click on ingredients. first we are going to change the heading to description and then you can click the drop down here to change your icon or you can just select none. if you don't want any icon, then under row content, we're going to click this right here: insert dynamic source, and we're going to select description and click insert. i'm going to do the same now for care instructions and materials. all right, return policy is just an extra. so i'm going to go ahead and delete this block, then save your work and here you can see that all of our information is now tucked away within these tabs. one last thing before we move on. you're going to notike a bit of a gap here. this is where our product description would be, but since we've moved it all into tabs, we can go ahead and remove that block while we are here. if there's any other blocks that you feel are unnecessary and are just taking up space, feel free to remove them. for example, this one at the top where it says ecom geeks. is that necessary? for me, no, so i'm going to go ahead and remove it, and same with the share button. you might decide to keep these blocks. it's totally up to you. but, as you can see, we've already condensed our information quite a bit and it's looking a lot more clean and organized, and it's also making more room for more essential pieces of information. this leads me to our next step, which is adding our star rating and our customer reviews. these both hold a lot of weight with potential buyers, so let's go ahead and add that in now. click add block star rating. i'm going to drag this up right underneath my product title, [Music]. i'm going to change my alignment to left and, if you want, you can play around with the size of the stars here. next, we are going to add in reviews, so click add, block. click reviews, and i'm going to leave this one at the bottom here. if you don't see reviews as an option to add, you'll need to add the product reviews app by shopify. the next thing we're going to do is add our trust badges. so save your work, if you haven't already, and then exit out of here. click apps, customize your store and search for ultimate trust badges. here's the one we want by conversion bear. it's 100 free, no trials or anything. you can just use it. click add app, install app and then you will be brought here. if you click select badges, you're going to see hundreds of payment providers to choose from and as you scroll down towards the bottom, you're going to start to see things like this, where you have money back, guarantee, authorized dealer, fast shipping, and as we scroll down even more, they have things like cruelty free, not tested on animals, vegan and more. i'm going to select my badges in a minute, but really quickly, i want to show you that you can change the appearance of these badges, which i highly recommend doing, so that they all have the same appearance. you can select monochrome or have a card outline, whatever you like. you can also change your alignment and the size for both desktop and mobile, and then up here, you can choose to erase the text or change it, and you can also change the alignment as well as the font, if you want. here's what i did for my badges. i chose free shipping, money back guarantee, 24: 7 customer support and secure checkout. i removed the title that was here, and here are my badge settings. i forgot to mention this before, but you can choose an animation for your badges when they load. i set mine as none, but it's another feature you can explore and play with if you want. once you're happy, make sure to save your work and then let's head back to customizing our store so that we can add this in. to add it in: click, add, block, select the trust badge widget and then i'm going to drag mine up right below the add to cart buttons. we are going to change one last thing, which is my favorite upgrade, and that is to change our color variants from text to nice circular color swatches. for this one we are going to need another app. this one is called global color swatch [Music]. when you get here. you can select how you want the variations to display for size. i'm going to leave it as button, but you could choose drop down or any of the other ones shown here. the important part here, though, is that for your color variation, you should select color or custom image swatch. when you're happy, click next steps. here is where we can choose the template we want for our product pages. you can click through these and select whichever one you like best. this next page has a lot of options for you to go through. i personally didn't adjust anything here, but it's there if you want to. our final step is to select which theme we want to install this on. once you've selected your theme, click install. now it's going to ask you to preview your product page to see if the swatch worked. you will see that it doesn't, but that's okay. we just have to configure one more thing. so go ahead and click. i see the swatches under color. click config, and then you're

Customize your Shopify Theme FAST | How to Design Shopify Store 2021

let's be honest, your store design matters, and if you have a really ugly site, people are just going to leave and they're not going to purchase from you. so in this video, i'm going to show you exactly how to customize your shopify store design. as soon as someone comes to your site, they only have about seven seconds before they decide if they want to look longer on your site or leave. so those seven seconds really matter and design matters when it comes to that. you want to make sure that your site is eye-catching and it really speaks to your ideal customer. so how do you do this? you really need to pick out your shopify theme and make sure that it works based on what kind of imagery you have. if you have a lot of really great big images, then pick a theme that's going to highlight those. but if you don't have a lot of great product shots, then you want to make sure that you pick a theme that's not going to be heavily reliant on that. once you've chosen your shopify theme, then it's time to customize it, and this is where it's important to create different assets, choose your fonts and colors to make sure that it's appealing for your ideal customer. so this is super important, but a lot of times people kind of overlook the design step. so i'm going to show you really quickly how to actually customize your design in the back end of shopify for both your home page, collection page and product page. so to get here, you're going to click on online store and then you'll see themes there from the list. so now that we are on the themes page, you can see your live theme here. this is what your customers are actually seeing whenever they come to your site, as well as your online store speed. we've done another video on how to speed up your site, so i will link that in the description below and in the info cards above as well. and you can also see the theme library so you can upload your theme if you've purchased it somewhere else, or you can explore the different theme options available. so, for example, if you click on explore free themes, you'll actually see a pop-up of all of the different free themes that are available here. the one problem with this is, if you click into it, you can't really see how the site overall looks, as well as how it looks on mobile. you can just kind of see the different styling aspects. so what i do recommend that you do is actually visit the theme store. so if we just click on this here, you can see the full theme store, and this is both free and paid themes. so what i like to do whenever i'm trying to decide on a theme for a shopify store is i'll actually go to all themes up here at the top and then you can see the sidebar here of sorting options so you can actually sort through and you can see. you know, based on you just want to see themes that are just for single products. so if you click on that, then it shows you just that product or specifications on the right hand side so you can better narrow down what kind of theme that it is that you are looking for. so if we unclick this, let's just go ahead and go with a free theme and we can click on free here and now we can see all of the different free themes. that, again, we did see in that pop-up already. but the difference is now we can actually click on the theme, we can again see the different styles that it includes as well as we can view the demo. so if we click on this here, we can now actually view the demo of the theme, see exactly how it looks, as well as a really important feature, which is seeing how it looks on mobile. so if we click on this mobile phone device, we can then see how it looks on mobile devices. so we also just posted a video about how important it is for mobile devices and stylizing your site. so i'll also link that below if you want to get a little bit more information on how to make sure that your site is really performing well on mobile devices. so if you decided that you wanted to go with this theme, you would just hit add theme here. let's go back to our shopify store backend and we're just going to go ahead and use the default brooklyn theme that we already have set up. so you have a couple options. you can click on actions. you can rename the theme, duplicate it so that that way you have a copy of the original. you can also download the theme file and edit the code. so this would be if you knew exactly. you know specific things that you could edit in. or if you were a developer, you could go in and edit the code. you just want to be careful here because you don't want to make any changes that you're not going to be able to fix, and then it's going to edit your site and you're going to have issues. you can also change the languages of how things appear on your site, so this would be more tiknical terminology. so you can go in and do these different options. but what we're going to be doing in this video is we're going to be customizing this theme. so i'm just going to go ahead and click customize here and now we can see here we've got some default things added in on the left hand side that we can customize as well, as this is the default setting. so we're going to start going through and doing these different options. i do want to mention real quickly that this is just a test site that i'm using for this video. so all of the images and products that i'm using are from a company called rifle paper company. if you like any of the products or images that are featured here, definitely go check out their site at riflepapercodecom. so back to our site here. let's just start off first with the header area. so you can see, here this header area is going to be default and standard throughout our entire site and that's right here, with the logo that we will change out, as well as our navigation. also, if we scroll down to the bottom, you can see here there is a footer area that's going to be the same throughout our site as well, and then all of these areas in between are specific to this home page design. so we'll go ahead and do the header and the footer first, and then we can come back to the home page design. so let's click on header and then we can see all of the options that are specific to this header. so first off, we can add in an image here so we can hit select image, and i've already got a few added in. but you could just click upload and upload that from your computer as well. but i'm just going to add our logo in, click on it and hit select. we can then see that we can change the width of this so we can make it bigger if we wanted, or we could make it smaller. all the themes are going to have different options based on the theme that you choose, so you're not going to see exactly what i'm seeing in terms of the options here, so you'll just want to go in and play around a little bit. we can also change the color for links and icons and have a transparent header. so right now we have- this is our big slideshow image and we have our logo and stuff laying on top of it. if we didn't want to do that and we wanted it to be a white bar behind it or another color, we could just click on this here and now we can see that's a little bit more prominent. so let's go ahead and leave it like that. if you were going to have your logo over the homepage slideshow, this theme does have additional options, like you can add a white version of your logo or change the header, links and icons, just to make sure that it shows up a little bit more. we can also see here we have different types for navigation. if we wanted it to how we wanted the navigation to display, we will just keep that as it is. we can also see we could change the menu out, so we just have one menu for the main menu area here, but we could go in if you had multiple different types of menus and you could change that out. and there is a secondary sidebar menu which would, i'm guessing, show on mobile devices. so we'll just keep that at the footer menu for now. and lastly, we have different things here for the announcement bar. so that's this up here at the top, so we can choose to only show this on the home page. change out the text.

How to Add Shopify Shipping Rates - Free Shipping, Flat Rate Shipping, & Weight-Based Shipping

hey guys, sam here from keycommercecom. in this video, i'm going to show you how to set up your shipping settings in shopify. we're starting on the shopify dashboard. you're going to start by going to settings down the bottom in the settings panel. here we're going to go to shipping and delivery. now this is where we adjust all our shipping rates. first thing i'll say is that there are three main ways that you can set up shipping, and this depends on your products, your store and how you're fulfilling your products. how do these products actually get to the customer? it's gonna depend on your store, so you need to think about this for your products, what suppliers you're using, or if you're shipping them out of your own warehouse or your garage or wherever. okay, the three main ways are free shipping, where any order that comes through, you don't charge the customer for shipping. the second way is a flat price. this might be a fixed price that you charge, say, 10 on every single order. and the third way is weight based- okay, and you can set this up too. you can hook it up with your carrier so you can have an integration there so it calculates the weight of all your products and works out the shipping rates. you can do that too. another thing, before i dive into the details, is that you can set up profiles. okay, profiles are ways for you to categorize different products and give them different shipping rates. for example, maybe you're drop shipping and you have a bunch of products from that supplier that have a certain shipping rate, or you can add a profile and group those products together, charge a specific rate for those products and charge a different rate for other products. we'll go through that in a little bit, but firstly we're going to go through how to actually set up your shipping overall for your entire store. so on this page here you'll see it has shipping. here it says general shipping rates, all products. we're going to click manage rates. okay, so we have our products here and be aware that when you use this general profile, this is for all the products on your store. then any new products you add are generally going to be added to this profile as well and this shipping information is going to be applied to them. we're just going to scroll down and go to shipping 2 and we're going to create a shipping zone. this is an area that you're going to be shipping to. you can use this for countries, or for entire continents, or the whole world, depending on what you actually want to charge your customers for shipping. so i'm going to set this for australia. i'm going to search for australia here, select australia, and it's going to be for all of australia: click done. now that we have our zone ready, we're now going to add in our rates. click add rate. now, like i said before, you can set up integrations and apps to actually calculate your rates for you and, depending on what fulfillment service you're using, if you're using a different carrier, you can actually let their app calculate the rates for you, because they might have their own tables depending on dimensions or weights or what have you to start off with. we're going to set our own rates. if you want to set up free shipping for all your products, which is quite a common thing, you can set the rate name to just be free shipping. add that in. the price is going to be free. click done and there you've got free shipping for australia. it's that easy. it's super, super easy. but say: we want to add a flat rate as well, we can add a new rate, or we can actually edit this one and change this to standard shipping, whatever you want to call it. this is what customers are going to see at checkout and i'm gonna put ten dollars per order and click done. now all customers, when they go to your checkout, they're gonna see standard shipping for ten dollars. now what if you wanna segment your products and charge different rates depending on their weights, the product, their price? well, you can do this by just clicking the buttons here and go edit rate. we can now add in conditions clicking this conditions button here, and we can add in conditions based on the item, weight or based on the order price. now we can actually set the range for the weights for this order. so if the minimum weight is 0 kilograms or pounds, and up to 10 kilograms it's going to be, say, 10. we can then add a new rate here. i'm going to call it heavy shipping and it's going to be twenty dollars at conditions. it's gonna be weight, minimum weight: ten dollars up to 50 kilograms. so now here we have a standard shipping for ten dollars, zero to ten kilograms, and then twenty dollars for ten to fifty kilograms. that can be pounds. you know, this is just the metric that we're using for this store. that's how you do it, based on weight, but you can also do it based on price. let me delete these. change the rate name. so standard shipping it's going to be 10. add conditions based on order price and i'm going to set the range for the pricing for zero to fifty dollars. see what i do here: i'm gonna add a new rate. what i've done here is i put in the rate name free shipping on orders over fifty dollars with a price of zero dollars ad conditions: order price. minimum price: fifty dollars. so now if people spend less than fifty dollars, they're going to pay ten dollars in shipping, but if they spend over fifty dollars, they get free shipping. this is a great way that you can encourage people to spend more on your store, increase your average order values and make more profit per customer, as long as that makes sense for you in terms of how much you're actually paying for your own shipping yourself. now that we've added it for australia, you can add other shipping zones here by going create shipping zone and repeat the process, depending on what countries, continents, what areas you're actually shipping to. if you're doing free worldwide shipping, you can also do that too. create shipping zone rest of the world for all the people that are not in australia, you can set a new rate just for them as well, so you might have one rate for just the us customers and then a different rate rest the world for everybody else. it's really up to you and how you want to run your store. now that's how you set up shipping. if you want to do free shipping, fixed rate shipping or based on weight or price, if you want to set up shipping for specific products, you can go back and go to create new profile. what this allows you to do is create a whole new umbrella at the top which is for specific products. for example, if i just want to show a certain shipping rate for surfboards, because surfboards are very bulky and they cost a lot more for me to ship them, then i can create a profile called surfboards and then when i click add products, i can just add in only the surfboards, so this wetsuit here doesn't get added to this profile. once i do that, i can create the shipping zones and all the different rates, just like i did earlier. guys, when you set up your shipping, make sure you think about for your own store how you're shipping to customers, but also keep in mind how you actually want to sell. what i mean by this is, just like i showed you, that you can have free shipping for orders over 50. you can use your shipping as a sales and marketing strategy. a lot of people don't want to pay for shipping. that's the long and short of it. that's how the world works these days. people love to see free shipping, even if they know that it's built into the actual price of the products. so i recommend really thinking about your store. think about your customers. what they would really like to see. do they expect to pay for shipping? if they're ordering something like a surfboard, people are more likely to be willing to pay for shipping because they understand it's a big and bulky item. but if it's something smaller, adding free shipping can be a great promotional tiknique that you can show on your ads on your website. even encourage people to spend more money on your store by having free shipping over a certain amount of the order value. so t.

Adding a Custom Block in a #Shopify Theme

hi, i'm jonah with sweet honeycode, and today we're going to dive into how to code a custom block for our shopify theme. so let's get started first, the suggestion for this theme came from a comment, so i do read your comments down down below. so let's dive into this. what are custom blocks? well, custom blocks essentially add additional blocks we may want to use to within our theme. so what i did here is- in a previous video i already done a clone of the dawn theme, which is the proper way of handling this to create our own little theme. and so i've gone to templates and then to productjson, which i have open here. perfect, so over in this area, we want what we want to find is where the sections begin and where the blocks section is defined. since this is a json file, it uses the json side text to for formatting and we want to follow those rules. so what we want to do is i'm going to scroll down here to where the last block is defined. that way, i have a mental marker for where i'm going to be defining mine. so i'm just going to add a comma here and start typing my definition, which will be custom dash block. of course, you can come up with your own name, but make sure it's one that you will remember. and then we do curly brackets and say what type of it is. so this type is not saying if it's a text block or things like that. this is more of a type in terms of what type of block we will be looking for in our code later on. so i'm just going to call it custom block just again for example's sake. so there we go, we can save that. so now that we started the definition, or at least told our theme that we are going to have this block, we now need to write the logic code to help this block be discovered and to render any code we need to to our theme. and for today i'm keeping it very basic, but you could definitely explore other ways. go here, for example: i can go down to block order and say what order this appears, for example, so i can do a comma custom block. that way it is appearing in my selection of options in a certain way. perfect. so now we're going to go to sections and then main dash: product dot- liquid. this file already has a lot of liquid code. it can get be really hard to find at first, but what you're looking for is- no pun intended, this for loop. so what a for loop does is it will go through a certain loop depending on the number of items it finds based off of what you tell it. so in this example, we have a for loop that says for block- that's our variable there- and sections: dot block. we will now tell it what to do with the case selector of blocktype. now we can say what types of blocks are we rendering code for? so this way we're filtering through the for loop a little bit better, and so the type we are looking for is the type we defined here in this spot. so now that we know that, i'm going to tell it following the same code format. here i'm going to do curly brackets, percentage the dashes and put a space here, and we're going to do when single quote: custom dash block. so i am telling it when you see this type that i created, now we're going to do something. so what are we going to do here? well, first i'm going to fix the indent there. perfect. so now we're going to output whatever that code is- if it's html, things like that- because i have an idea how i want to use this field. one of the things i want to take consideration is what happens if the field is blank. if it, once, it has values, what do we do there? so the first thing i want to do here is with curly brackets and the percentages here, which is liquid code, again, i'm going to do an if statement. what i want to look for is if this block has a value. so, more specifically, if a user puts some text in here, then it should output. if it's blank, then it should do nothing. so we're going to do block dot settings, dot custom dash block, just like that. so we will be defining an id for our block later down in the schema and you'll see that in a moment. but because of this f block here, i like to make sure it's closed with a percentage and if, which is also liquid, and so now we want to output this. so paragraph tag here, close our paragraph as well, and then an, a tag with quotes and a text here: view collection. so i'm just going to play with an idea of that a user who commented gave me, which is having a text field that goes to a collection that they type the name for. so in this case i'm going to hook into the url by using collections like that, and then we're going to do double curly brackets. so what this does is this will output the value from this block specifically. so this is again more liquid code here. and so we're going to do block dot settings, dot custom dash block. so we will output that value that is set there and it's being attached. make sure there's no spaces at least before these curly brackets. okay to space in here. it will ignore that. so if all works, this block will only display if there is value there. so now we just want to go down to the schema, which is at the very bottom of this theme. so this is another reason why i encourage offline coding. that way you can save and test your features that way. so i already have place text for here, but i'm going to tok through it. so first, in this case for schemas, we look for this tag called schema. there is going to be a blocks array, so you're going to notike that in some areas they there may not be an array, but in other areas there are, and that can get a little confusing. do your best to follow the format there, but the same thing happens. we have to start our definition for the block between curly brackets here this time. so we first do the initial curly brackets here separated by a comma. then we can begin by typing in type. so we are now telling it what block type this schema attaches to. so that type we defined here is being used again here just to link everything together. then we have a name. so this is a text name that's displayed to anyone who uses this theme. at some point we would want to look at the language schema that's available in themes so that we can actually do proper language translations. for now, but i would want to note that in my developer to-do list here we have a settings, also an array. so we have settings, colon and array here. so in this array block as well, encapsulated by curly brackets this time, the type here for settings is what type of block are we presenting to the user? so in this instance i'm just going to use a single line text. but for example, if i want the rich text, i would just type in here: rich text, and there will be a link in the description so you can explore other types to experiment with as well. and this time the id. so this was the id that i was calling at or calling with up above in the code where i did block dot settings, dot custom dash block. so in that case i was telling liquid: look for this block id and output its content. the last thing that is also rec mandatory is a label. so this label should be some sort of instructions, or why is this input box here? basically, again, at a future point in our development we will need to also create a language definition for this so that way it can be translated to other languages as well. but this is okay for at least a starter point. so once everything looks good for us, i'm going to do ctrl s and i'm going to use shopify cli here to do shopify theme serve. so what this does is it will sync up a development version of this theme to my shop, which i already logged into before starting this recording. perfect, it gives me a link here: hold down control click, wait for it to load. there we go. so this is my new theme i'm working on. let's go to catalog: click on a product here you are going to see it, because i did a test run video. but where would we find this block? it will be under product information for all intents and purposes, i'm going to remove this for a moment here. click save. so now if i go to add block, i can see this new custom block i created. click on it shows up as a single line text field. i can even add a dynamic single line text. made a field here. i can see that it's app.

How to add a new product with Digital Downloads || Shopify Help Center

Today, I’m going to teach you how to create a new digital product with the free Shopify app Digital Downloads. Now let’s get started. Hey, everyone Casey here, Before we get started, you need to have the Shopify free app Digital Downloads available on the Shopify app store. To find the link for that, check out the description below. Starting in your Shopify admin, click “Products” and then click “Add product”. Enter the information for your digital product, like the Title Description, Media and Pricing. Fill out anything applicable in the organization section, like product type, vendor collections and tags. To see a step-by-step video of what details to include when adding a new product, click on the link above. In this example, I’m adding an ebook. After you add the product information, scroll to the Inventory section of the page. This section might look different if you only have one location for your business. In the AlyAthletiks store, there are three locations available to track inventory. If you have multiple locations, like in this example, then you need to keep the box “Track quantity” checked And you need to set the inventory level in at least one location. to save the product properly, I suggest adding inventory for all shipping locations. This will prevent checkout issues later on if you’ve created custom Shipping Profiles. For more information on shipping profiles, click the link below. I’m adding a quantity of 500 in all of our locations, but if you want to limit how many digital products you sell, then edit the quantity to suit your partikular business needs. If you don’t have multiple locations, then this is what you see in the inventory section on the product page. You can add inventory quantity. in the same way. I also select “Continue selling when out of stok” because I want this product to always be available. Next, in the shipping section, uncheck “This is a physical product”. You only need this checked for products that you need to package and ship. You might also want to include individual variants for this product. This is useful if you sell digital art and offer different resolution sizes, or if you sell individual songs. I’m not including any variants in this product because I’m selling an ebook in one format Script. To make sure this product isn’t purchased without the digital file attached, toggle to “Draft” under “Product status” at the top of the page, Then click “Save”. Now it’s time to add your digital file to your new product. Under the product title, click “More actions” and then click “Add Digital Attachment”. Remember, you only see this option if the Digital Downloads app is installed in your store. When you click this link, it takes you to the Digital Downloads app page. Before you add the digital file, you need to make sure the file is saved and ready for upload. When you prepare the digital file, here’s a few things to remember. The maximum file size you can upload is 5 gigabytes. You can only upload one digital file per product variant. You can’t upload file folders, so if you need multiple files, then you use a zip file or another archive file. From here, click “Upload file” to select the file that you want to attach to the product. If you attach a large file, then it might take a little longer to upload. If you have multiple variants, then you need to upload a file to each individual variant. After you’re done uploading all your digital files, click “View in your Shopify admin”. This takes you back to your product details page. Now that the digital file is attached to your product, you need to set the product status as “Active” so customers can purchase it. Remember to click “Save” when you’re done, Your new digital download is now available for customers to purchase and download Script. Click “Preview” to see the new product in your online store.
