today's topic is building a brand versus
a store when it comes to shop buy drop
shipping so let's jump into that one so
most people just slap together a store
and maybe put up a few products and make
a Facebook and Instagram but they don't
actually know how to build a brand but
building a brand takes a lot more than
just products a store and a name has to
tell a story now I'm not gonna dive into
all the practikal aspects of how you can
actually build a brand versus a store
I'm just gonna tell you why you should
focus on a brand versus just a product
in a store all that basic stuff that you
see most people doing with Shopify
dropship I've been getting a lot a lot
of people asking me if it's saturated
and the answer is no but it is saturated
if you're doing the same thing as
everyone else I don't know if you've
read I forget the name of the book but
it toks about creating your own blue
ocean so what this means is you need to
find your own little niche your own
subcategory you drop down get different
than everybody else and then you have
your own blue ocean to feed on
eventually people are gonna come in it
gets saturated then it becomes bloody
water then it's like a red ocean but
that's not the point if you're different
and you build a brand versus a store
you're gonna have a lot more success if
you ever want to sell your storage I
don't know you've probably seen people
offering stores for sale you've seen
websites like flipper or you can buy
sell flip ecommerce stores Amazon FBA
shop fight all these different things if
you have a brand versus just a store
with revenue a brand is gonna sell for a
lot more money but what is the key
difference what's the difference between
a brand and a store okay a store has
customers a brand has fans a customer
they'll buy they might buy again you
know through the email list if you send
them a special offer on the back end put
a fan an actual fan someone who loves
your brand that are raving about it to
their friends they're waiting when you
drop something new they're waiting on
their page on the website refreshing
waiting to get it and immediately sell
something like that that's where you see
all the high-end brands and all the
stuff like supreme all these I'm not
gonna put out in names I don't want hate
in the comments but people with brands
who are selling out immediately
that's because people tell a story those
people resonate with their audience and
build a fan base around that and you
want that hype that's what you need to
go for so you need to have a quality
social media page don't just post about
the products you have for sale tell a
story what I try and do my favorite
thing make people laugh entertain people
be their source of daily inspiration fun
get them to smile something like that
brighten their day give them a reason to
tune back into your content whether
that's a blog post Instagram an email
you send out Facebook whatever it is
depending on your niche or storm what
you're most comfortable with do it you
just really really need to separate
yourself and a lot of people I think
focus on building a store and they don't
actually know about brand building but
I'm not here to sell you some course
tell you to go get a book I've read a
lot of different books on this stuff
taking courses tok to mentors on I
don't even remember the names of these
books but I remember what I learned in
that the key takeaways that I took and
that I've implemented and I want you to
go searching for that information you
need to understand brand building versus
just a store and I think 99% of people
maybe more when it comes to Shopify
dropshipping just build a store with
products they do everything they think
they need to do but they don't
understand the actual difference between
a brand in the store which is like I
said a brand has fans whereas a store
only has customers this video is super
