Making Easy Dollars - Advertising Your Link (updated)
because this is City and this video. I'm going to tok to you about advertising new link. this is the main thing that you need to do in order to start making money in your business and I go through the whole advertising section of the website and show you where everything is. there are other things in the back office that you do not have to do. you know, I highly suggest paid craigslist ads for doing this business, because that is where you're gonna get your most leads from. I do have sources where there are some free places that you can post. there is some training about Facebook, but, again, you do not have to do any promoting on Facebook if you don't want to. the training is just there for those who do. but my main source of getting leads for this business is paid ads in the job section for Craigslist. so I'm just gonna go over here and I'm gonna click on training and I'm going to show you all the advertising section and so it's under training: training info in videos, and then you're gonna go and you're going to click where it says advertising and then, once you're over here, you're going to see all of the different aspects of advertising. like I said, you do not have to have Facebook. this right here is a list of some advertising sites that you can advertise one. some of them are free, some of them are paid. there are things like being there's classified ad classifieds for free, which is a site that I do have some more traditional training about, because this is a decent place to post. I just don't know what kind of traffic you get there, and I know that you get traffic from Craigslist, but you're what you're willing can post it any of these places that you want. I do know back in the day that Pennysaver was a really good one and there was another one called dog. I think it's on my list here somewhere, or maybe not, but that's a list of places that you can post if you want to. um, we're gonna go over and you'll see. we could go back up to training, training in fun videos, but we're already into the section. so the next thing is Craigslist information, and this is basically all of the information that I have regarding Craigslist: where to post your ads: jobs, customer service and sales. you can post in services, but if you post in services, you're not going to get the kind of leads that you're going to get if you post paid ads in the job section. it's crazy the amount of leads you can get from posting in jobs because most of the time people that are on Craigslist they're there for one of three reasons: they're there to buy something, they're there to sell something or they're looking for a job. and they're not going to be looking for a job in the community section. but you can post there if you want to get in this business, you want to get your feet wet, you don't want to put out a bunch of money to do a lot of paid advertising. start small, start with a ten dollar ad in the Craig's land, Craigslist. and I'm going to show you. if you scroll down this page a little bit more, you're gonna see that I have all of the cities separated by how much it costs to post an ad there. so you know you can start with a ten dollar City. however, if you do start with a ten dollar city or a fifteen dollar City, my suggestion is to also do free ads and you can post three ads per account on Craigslist every 48 hours. so what I suggest if you're going to start for, do like a 10 or 15 dollar ad, is that, the day that you do that that that ad is, that you also do a couple of free ads so that you're doing those three, those three ads per day. then 48 hours later, post three more free ads and then 48 hours later, post three more free ads and what that does is that supplements you getting the leads that you're not getting from doing a higher paying city. those that are making the big money are posting in 25 and $35 cities which are down here, but you know it's your business. you can promote it however you want to, so I will leave that with y'all and y'all can decide where you want to post. um. second section of this is sample add titles and these are just subject lines that you can use in your Craigslist posts and you can copy and paste them or you can look around and, you know, make, make your own, look on Craigslist. that's how I did. a lot of these was. I looked on Craigslist at some of the subject lines that kind of stuck out to me and I kind of made these from there. the same with classified- a sample classified ads, and you have sample ad templates that you can go through and copy and paste. you can change them around. you can, you know, make your own. I highly suggest, if you make your own, to please email me at Catwoman tu-16 at livecom and just let me look at your ad and make sure that there isn't anything that might stik out that might cause it to get flagged. so that is that part. again, using Facebook to market your business. you do not have to do this if you do not have Facebook, obviously, or if you're not interested in doing Facebook. the other section of advertising that I'm gonna go through: books. I didn't need to go all the way back. that is all at the advertising. um, after advertising, you have your training videos. it's so when you go over to training videos, you're gonna see these different videos that I have for training and there are there's training on YouTube. again, you do not have to do YouTube. if you do not want to Craigslist, definitely watch the Craigslist training. you need it. Facebook, if you want to classifieds for free, is just a free place to post ads. again, you know you don't have to. I don't know what kind of traffic comes from there because I normally do all Craigslist, but if you want to try it, you can with I do training. this is just a website similar to Facebook where you can also do advertising and connect with other business owners. so that is the training set. that is the training section on advertising and that's the most important section, because that's what's going to make you your money. so if anybody has questions, um, if you're on in the Facebook group, press in the group. if you need order help, just know me again at catwoman 2, 1, 6 at livecom and I will get get you the help you need or answer whatever questions you have, and I'll see you guys on the next one. bye.

Lay's.
Potato chips are fun to eat, come in several flavors and they taste delicious, So it comes as no surprise that they are one of the most popular snacks in the world. One brand of potato chips that have become widely loved for their wonderful snacks is Lay’s Potato Chips. After dropping out of college, struggling through the great depression and receiving almost 200 job rejections, Herman Lay, the founder of this popular snack brand, went from selling potato chips in his car with just a few dollars in his pocket to be the head of what is now a multibillion-dollar corporation. This is the story of Lay’s Welcome to Planet Biz. Herman Warden Lay was born in 1909 in Charlotte, North Carolina. His father worked with International Harvester, an American manufacturer of agricultural equipment and machinery. At first his father was a bookkeeper with this company, but later on he became a commercial salesman and the entire family moved to South Carolina. In 1920, the Lay family was living in Greenville, South Carolina. It was around this time that Herman Warden Lay embarked on his first business venture – selling Pepsi-Colas. Just 11 years old at the time, Lay set up a makeshift stand in his family’s front yard and sold the soda for 5 cents a bottle. The ballpark across the street from his house was charging twice this amount, and this price difference made Herman’s Pepsi-Cola stand a hit. His business became so successful that he opened a bank account, bought a bicycle and even hired other boys to run the soda stand, while he ventured into the business of delivering newspapers. Lay seemed to have been born with an entrepreneurial spirit, which he later traced back to his father. Herman’s father had succeeded in selling farm machinery to farmers who were so accustomed to using horses that the horses may have as well been part of their families. In Herman Lay’s words, “It was a pleasure to watch him work because he did it so well”. When the ballpark moved from Herman’s neighborhood, reducing the amount of business that his Pepsi-Cola stand got, he wasn’t deterred. He went ahead and moved his business as well into the ballpark. this time He began to sell peanuts during the games and soon succeeded in that too, becoming one of the top snack vendors in the park. Unfortunately, in 1922, two years after his family moved to Greenville, the Lays were dealt a devastating blow. Herman’s mother died of cancer. Despite this sad event, Lay went on to attend and graduate from high school, winning a scholarship to attend college. There he made a decision that he was going to regret…. Apart from being a hardworking businessman, Herman was also a great athlete. He attended Greenville High School, where he lettered in three sports: baseball, basketball and track. Herman was an impressive athlete and was awarded an athletik scholarship to attend Furman University. While at college, Herman Lay played baseball and basketball for his school’s team. But despite his love for sports, his athletik skill and his college scholarship, Herman spent just two years in college. His passion for sales won him over and he dropped out of Furman University to begin a career in sales. Herman would soon come to appreciate this decision that he made, but first he was going to regret it. The journey to becoming the successful salesman that Lay dreamed about was filled with road bumps and storms. It was the period of the Great Depression, and Herman couldn’t have chosen a worse time in his life to venture into the world of business. He struggled to find a career and was met with disappointment after disappointment. Once in 1928, during the Democratik Convention in Houston, Herman and a friend of his invested 100 dollars into ice cream. This was a lot of money, especially considering that it was during the Great Depression. They planned to sell ice cream along the route of the convention parade. Unfortunately, this plan was ruined. There was a last-minute route change for the parade and the friends were left with no customers for their ice cream. However, Lay couldn’t give up at this point. He had dropped out of college, abandoning a scholarship. He had no choice but to face the struggles of building a career during the worst economic downturn the industrialized world has ever experienced. On his quest to find the career of his dreams, Lay worked several jobs at different points in time. He traveled across the country in search of gainful employment. His journey began in the West, where he worked in the Midwestern wheat harvest. From there he moved on to Washington where he worked as a lumberjack. Eventually he returned to South Carolina. There he worked a few more jobs. Between 1930 and 1932, Herman worked as a salesman in a jewelry store, a trainee for a farm machinery company and later on at Sunshine Biscuits, where he was eventually laid off because of the poor economic situation of the country. Lay was 24 years old and had only a four-year-old Model-A Ford vehicle and a few dollars in his pocket. The future must have looked bleak, but he continued to give it his best. He placed several classified ads in newspapers and sent out about 200 letters applying for different jobs. All his efforts yielded only one positive response. The response was from a company named Barrett Potato Chip Co. They were an Atlanta-based distributor of Gardner’s Potato Chips. After the job interview, Lay himself turned the job down because he felt it wasn’t right for him, even though he wanted to be a salesman. In his words, “The idea of driving a truck from store to store selling potato chips wasn’t my idea of a job”. However, Herman Lay soon had to face the reality that he didn’t have much of a choice when it came to working opportunities. A week after turning down the job offer, Herman returned to Barrett Potato Chip Co in the hopes of being able to get the job back. Upon getting there, he was met with the sad news that the position had already been filled. Fortunately for him, he didn’t leave empty-handed. The company took him on as an extra salesman. During an interview, Lay described the nature of the work he did: “I would get a weekly allotment of potato chips and a cash allowance. There was no salary, just an advance against whatever commissions I earned on sales”. He was assigned a specific area to make his sales – northern Tennessee and southern Kentucky, including the city of Nashville. Herman took up his new job with his trademark zest. He enjoyed the control he had. Lay fondly called the areas he was assigned his territory and took the work as his business. According to Lay, he would be on the road all day and half the night selling his goods to grocery stores, filling stations, soda shops, road stands, schools and even hospitals – all from the trunk of his car. He would later say that it was the sense of independence the business offered that kept him going. Lay’s determination and persistence finally began to pay off. Within a year he became a distributor in the Nashville office of the company he was working for. He borrowed $100 and founded a distributing company which he named HW Lay Distributing Company. He began to hire employees and in just three years Herman Lay’s distribution business had grown so much that he had 25 employees working in his territory, which had also expanded by then. In 1938, Lay was offered Barrett’s Atlanta and Memphis plants if he was willing to buy. The asking price was 60,000 dollars. Herman was interested. He tried to raise the money in all the ways he knew how. he looked for friends and business associates to invest. He even asked a life insurance broker and a gas station operator With all his eff.

Navigating the Government Marketplace with PTAC SC
all right, everyone, let me just turn my camera on for a second. uh, good morning. my name is sonya barkley. i am the small business outreach manager here at south carolina department of commerce and i welcome you all today for our webinar. we're featuring ptac sc, that's the procurement tiknical assistance assistance center here in south carolina, right here in columbia, and they're here to help you um, just branch out into another um avenue for your business, to help you grow your business, toking about contracting, whether it's local, county, state or even federal. they're here to help you and to know. felder is joining us this morning. she is the marketing and communications manager at ptac sc and she's going to answer all your questions too at the end. before we begin, just want to go over a few uh house rules. i'll just let you know that this webinar is being recorded so you will receive a copy at the end, and also we ask that you keep your mics off and your cameras off and we can use the chat box for your questions um for today, and we'll answer them all at the end. like i said, everything will be sent to you at the end, so you will have those as a point of reference and we'll go ahead and start with miss tanell now. all right, thank you, sani. so much for that, for that introduction, and hello, everyone excited to be here with you today. let me go ahead and share my stream and we'll start. we'll start with um. start with the show. okay, and you're good, awesome, great, thank you, okay. yes, well, um, again, as sony said, my name is tanell felder and i am the marketing and communications manager for the procurement tiknical assistance center of south carolina, also known as ptac sc. i am so happy to be here today on behalf of our organization, and today i'll just be um explaining how ptac sc can help to position south carolina businesses to compete for government contracts. so that is what we will be going over today. um, briefly, uh did mention um questions and we received those questions. i tried to include the answers to many of those questions within our presentation, um, and at the end i will be addressing some of those questions that have not been touched on in the presentation. so, um, just keep that in mind and let's get started. [Music]. okay, so, um, i like to start these presentations by asking a question, and that question is: why would a south carolina business want to consider becoming a government that want to consider becoming a government vendor. well, the federal government is the largest purchaser of goods and services in the world and, as we can see here- um, let me move this over there we go. okay, and as we can see here from on this headline from the small business administration, the federal government awarded a record-breaking 145, 45.7 billion dollars in in contracting to small businesses, and this was um from fiscal year 2020, and of that amount, small businesses with socioeconomic certification- so like your hubzone, women-owned businesses, etc. made up about five percent of those contracting dollars. well, in december 2021, the biden administration came out and they- um, they introduced a new challenge to- well, actually executive order to um federal agencies and saying that they would need to increase their goals so that contracting dollars awarded to small disadvantaged businesses would go from that five percent that i just spoke about to 11, and the goal is to get it to 50 by 2025, which, um, hugely and actually this will um, this will translate to about 100 billion dollars in contracting dollars that will go to small disadvantaged businesses, and so, in december, we alerted our clients to this, um, as you can see here, this headline, we just wanted to let our clients know that if they qualify as a small disadvantaged business, um, that they would need to go ahead and make sure that they are registered so that they would be eligible for those contracting dollars? um, and in the next slide we will look more into what qualifies as small disadvantaged business. okay, so is my business a small business? um, people wonder that. they say: you know, am i, um, am i able to qualify as a small business? the answer is most likely, and this is really because about 99 of the businesses in the united states are classified as small businesses. so in order to qualify as a small business, you need to meet the sba's numerical standard for a small business, and there's actually a tool on their website where you can go and you can type in, um your industry and the number of employees that you have, and it will let you know: do you qualify for a small business? like i said earlier, it's more likely than not. you qualify as a small business. um, you want to be a for-profit business of any legal structure and that just means, um, your limited partnership, limited liability, partnership, llc, incorporated things of that nature. um, you need to be independently owned and operated, not nationally dominant in your field, so not like a mcdonald's or a chick-fil-a or something of that matter, and you want to be physically located and operate in the united states or its territories, and so we're actually going to look now and seeing about what qualifies as a small disadvantaged business. i'm gonna drag this over here, okay. so we just toked about small disadvantaged businesses and how, um the biden administration is really, um, they have, they are requiring that federal agencies increase the number of contracts going to small disadvantaged businesses. so i just pulled this up from sbagov. they have great information. we will be visiting that website um often during this presentation. um, but just here you can see the um, the definition of small disadvantaged businesses, and so the firm must be 51 or more owned and controlled by one or more disadvantaged persons. um, they give you links here where you can go and explore that a little bit more. so i just wanted to pull that up to show you all. put that back over here, all right? okay, so you might hear all of this and think, okay, you might be convinced that government contracting provides financial opportunities for small businesses. but you might be thinking, does this translate to south carolina small businesses? and the answer is yes. um, as you can see here, a large chunk of those dollars are coming into south carolina, and so this is a screenshot from usaspendinggov and we will be um going into that website and looking into that a little bit more. but, as you can see here, this is um. let me first explain the search, the search terms that i use to find this information. so this is from fiscal year 2021. um, i search for all contracts: small business and small business set asides. so these are contracts that were specifically going only towards um people who met those set aside criteria, and these are all south carolina businesses as well. and so since we have that, there we go. since we have that established, um, we can see that the department of defense was by far the largest, the largest contributor to these, to these businesses, and they almost spent around. they almost spent 15 billion dollars with south carolina small businesses. um, and then here we look at the department of education, and you might look at this bar and look at this bar and think, well, that's nothing. well, actually, that's 500 million dollars with the department of education. so i think we've established that for the federal level. so now let's look at the local level, in the state level, um, what opportunities do we have for small businesses at that level? so this is a screenshot from the south carolina business opportunities, which is with the procurement scgov, and again, i think this is one of the websites we also will be looking at a little later in the presentation. um, but this screenshot just shows that there are many business opportunities available in the state are coming from the state actually, and here you can see these are all solicitations that are open. um, right here we can see there's 123 ads out for construction, 151 ads out for looking for services, and those services include food services, vendor setu.
For Sale By Owner - Greenville SC - List2Move
my name is Tim garmin, I'm Tim SCADA, we're from lips to move calm and we're going to review a quick tutorial on how this whole site works. first thing you're going to do is you're going to register. there's three different ways from the front page once you pick the city in the state that you want to list your property- and here's one up here, the register button. there's another big gray button here and there's another one right down here. so I'm going to go ahead and click one of these buttons and it's going to take diet n. yeah, it's just worth noting this. we're in the Greenville, South Carolina, site, but this is the exact same for any city that you're in. so you can feel free to follow this tutorial from anywhere, and i'm just going to just fill this in pretty generic, so if i forget something, sorry, well, we'll try to work it out. ok, password. now it's important you remember your security answer because you're going to be asked once you get to your forms that you need to fill out before you list. you're going to be asked what's your secret answer. that's your security answer. ok, so the security question would probably have something to do with that, and i'm going to say: please rate your food, food, and my answer is going to be hot dogs. so remember that. okay, and that is case sensitive. so if you put an uppercase H and a hot dog, you'd have to put that in this dancer. and with, what am I going to do for you? na, demo, yeah, demo, at list move, and we're going to put our little too. i wa, is that case sensitive, Tim? I believe it is 52. ok, so I'm going to do that, right, and i'm going to. was asking me if I want to remember that password. i'm going to say no, okay. so you just heard. i just got an email. i'm going to go to my email and i'm going to hit check email there. it is ok. so here is our registration. one thing that our site does is it verifies the email. so we're going to go ahead and we're going to click on it. it's going to take us right back in to account verification and I'm going to go. what was it, Tim? demo and hot dog. yep, if i spelled it right, hot. i'm going to log in. we're just going to start building our listing and if you notike, we invade anything yet. all right, so we've got a little bit of a note up here tells you what to do, and we're going to start one, two, three. so this is going to bring you into the actual MLS profile form and it's going to be customized to the city that you are in. so it might not look exactly like this, but what you're going to do is just continue through the process and fill out all of the available steps and once you're finished, you'll get to an actual button that says finished and it will take you on to the photo upload. yeah, and everything that's in yellow here. I don't know the local area. i'm from Fairport, New York, but I don't know it, so I'm just guessing at some of these things. all right, so I'm guessing my house is going to go pretty cheap, that's right or not? 120,000, if that's cheap for the area. but everything in yellow here with a red asterisk is a required field, so we have to fill those things in. so i'm gonna say greenville and just copy and paste this, because again, i don't know the schools. i just want to get through that. where did you get the idea? and if there's any field that has one of those blue question marks next to it, that's going to help you out if you're not sure what the field is. for example, if you hover over list price, it's just going to tell you no commas, no dollar signs, but some of the fields it will tell you you know specific things about what data can go in there or where you can find the data. so if there's a field you're not sure about, just hover over that icon and it will help you out. okay, i'm just guessing at some of these things. i'm going to hit the next button to go to second page, to page 2 of 9 here. commission %: i'm going to offer, say, 2.5, and I'm going to do. I'm going to do 0 on the, on the flat fee, and there's a little. these are little mouse over here, but that's what I'm going to put it down for. commission: yeah, ok, we're going to skip over the rest from here and we'll pick it up on the public remarks. okay, public remarks, this house. you know this is where you put your, your sales pitch. okay, um, this is where you put your directions to your house. so if somebody needed directions, they could read them. typically, it's a real estate agent that might need some help getting to your house, find, getting buyers to the, to the house. um, now going back. actually I'm going to go previous real quick. here you'll notike, on the public remarks there's a maximum of ten, twenty four characters. that changes now that's specific to greenville, south carolina. in rochester, new york, ours is 600 character spaces. so make sure you, you know you can't go over it. the site won't let you go over it, but just be aware of that. you know, if you've already typed something up, you you're going to have to adhere to mls rules on that text. year 1994: closure: no short sale now. HOA now. and we're just going to go again and finish, ok, so the next thing you're going to do, once you finish your profile form, i still upload the photos. now let me- um, we'll meet, browse see, I messed up here and there, browse and I'm going to go, let's see here, want to go to my photos and pull some off and then in here so you can actually see a whole bunch. here's one of my rehabs, ok, so I'm going to put my number one here and I'll blow the photo and that number there really is just basically assigning a sort order. so number one will appear as the first photo on the property, huh, and then as he adds more he'll increment that number again. you know i'm just going to use the thing here to here again rehab and a real estate investor. so i keep a lot of pictures of houses that we've done. okay, so you get the idea there once i'm done and you can upload a number of different photos. and again, it's going to be specific to the mls that you're going into. do you know what her, her maximum is here? not me either. okay, i usually all about 25 year, that's 18 to 25, 5, and you know, in rochester, new york, he used to be 16 but they up, they upped it to 25, like in the last year. so here's an agency disclosure. this is um, this is pretty much state required in all states. they're going to be just basically saying that you're, you understand that you're going to be doing. you know, you know who works for who. so an agency relationship in south carolina, you know, tells you how you can become a client. you know what single agency, dual agency is disclosed, dual agency, etc. but you guys are doing it by yourself. so what you're going to do here and what was my thing? demo, mo, yep, and my favorite food is hot dog. so i need to sign this in the state law and I think, right, as the lowercase H I did. but I'm going to test it out, see if it goes through. and it did not work, ok, so I'm going to change that to lowercase H- very important to remember that security. ok, and here's. here's the agency listing agreement. it's got my name on it already. the broker's name is on there, ok, and again, this is going to be customized to the city that your listing in. it'll be something similar, but it might not be exactly like this, right, exactly. so, say, read through this and again, down at the bottom, you're going to electronically sign it again. demo: when you said lower case, hot dog verified that the information is good and are finished. ok, so here what we're going to do. this is where we're going to check out. the last thing you do on the list of move sites is check out. ok, so here we've got the option to unlimited listing package with or without a sign. so I'm going to do with the sign. I'm going to do an MLS rider with the listing because I want buyers to know what the, what, the, what, the mls number is. I'm going to do a phone number with the listing. I'm going to add the. i'm going to add the street directions and i'm going to skip the fat box. i'm going to do the open house electronic lockbox. i don't need it. enhance reader com was like that idea, so I'm going to do it. and virtual tour: I think I'm going to hold off because my h?
Lt. Governor Republican Debate
TONIGHT REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR AND NOW YOUR MODERATOR DEAN OF USC'S COLLEGE OF MASS COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION STUDIES, CHARLES BIERBAUER. >>. GOOD EVENING AND WELCOME TO TONIGHT'S PRIMARY DEBATE AMONG THE REPUBLICAN CANDIDATES FOR LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR. JOINING ME TONIGHT TO ASK QUESTIONS OF THE CANDIDATES ARE MAYA PRABHU FROM THE SUNDAY NEWS AND ANDY SHAIN OF THE STATE. CANDIDATES JOINING US ARE MIKE CAMPBELL OF COLUMBIA, RAY MOORE OF COLUMBIA, PAT McKINNEY OF CHARLESTON AND HENRY McMASTER OF COLUMBIA. BEFORE WE BEGIN TONIGHT, BRIEF GROUND RULES. EACH CANDIDATE WILL HAVE ONE MINUTE TO RESPOND TO THE QUESTIONS AND, IF NECESSARY, I WILL ALLOW A 30 SECOND REBUTTAL. WE DO NAMES WHEN THE CANDIDATES WE DREW NAMES FOR THE ORDER OF QUESTIONING. WE'LL START THEN WITH THE FIRST QUESTION. ALTHOUGH A QUESTION TO EACH OF YOU, BUT I'LL START WITH MIKE CAMPBELL. GENTLEMEN, YOU'RE RUNNING FOR AN OFFICE THAT MAY BE EMPTY FOR THE NEXT SIX OR SEVEN MONTHS. THE LAST ELECTED LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR WAS FORCED TO RESIGN HIS SUCCESSOR, LEAVING FOR APPARENTLY GREENER PASTURES THE NEXT IN LINE, THE PRESIDENT PRO TEM, HAS DECIDED TO STEP DOWN. RATHER THAN BE FORCED TO BE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR. AFTER THIS ELECTION, THE OFFICE WILL NO LONGER BE INDEPENDENTLY ELECTED. IT IS A PART TIME JOB AND THE PAY IS ONLY SO. SO, WOULD YOU ASK RESPONDENTS IN THIS SENSE. THE OBVIOUS QUESTION IS: WHY DO YOU WANT IT? THE MORE RELEVANT QUESTION IS: WHAT SINGULAR THING WOULD YOU DO TO LIFT THIS OFFICE ABOVE MARGINAL RELEVANCY, MR CAMPBELL >>. WELL, FIRST OF ALL, I THANK ETV FOR HAVING US HERE THIS EVENING AND FOR JOINING MY OPPONENTS. YOU KNOW I RAN IN 2006 AND WE RAN FOR THIS AT THIS OFFICE. RAN FOR THIS OFFICE AT THAT TIME. ONE THING THAT WE WERE RUNNING ON AT THAT POINT WAS GOVERNMENT RESTRUCTURING. WE WANTED TO SEE THE GOVERNOR AND LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR RUN TOGETHER ON A tikET. THAT WAS SOMETHING I CONTINUED TO ADVOCATE FOR AFTER THE CAMPAIGN WAS OVER BUT TODAY, SOMETHING HAPPENED IN 2006 THAT REALLY MADE THIS OFFICE A LOT MORE RELEVANT. SOMETHING THAT WAS BASICALLY A CEREMONIAL POSITION BECAME MORE RELEVANT WHEN IT TOOK ON THE OFFICE ON AGING- THE OFFICE ON AGING WITH DEALS WITH ALL OF OUR SENIOR'S ISSUES IN THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA. AS WE ALL KNOW, OUR SENIORS AND POPULATION OF SENIORS IS GROWING. WE HAVE SO MANY RETIREES MOVING INTO THE STATE, HAVING SAID THAT THEIR ISSUES WILL BECOME MORE PREVALENT. HAVING LOST MY FATHER TO ALZHEIMER'S AND DONE SOME WORK WITH THE SOUTH CAROLINA AS ASSOCIATION IS SOMETHING I HAVE WITH THE SOUTH CAROLINA ALZHEIMER'S ASSOCIATION- IT IS SOMETHING I HAVE SOME EXPERIENCE WITH. >>. IT IS THE LAST ELECTION FOR LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR IN 2018, THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR WILL RUN WITH THE GOVERNOR, SO THIS ELECTION HAS A LOT OF SYMBOLIC VALUE. I THINK, AS WELL, I'M RUNNING ON A STRONG PLATFORM OF SCHOOL CHOICE, TRYING TO GROW PRIVATE OR CHRISTIAN OR HOME SCHOOLING AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO GOVERNMENT SCHOOLING. THAT WAS WHAT GOT ME INTO THE RACE, AND GLENN McCONNELL ANNOUNCED HE WASN'T GOING TO RUN AGAIN. IT IS AN ELECTION ABOUT TRADITIONAL VALUES. I THINK THE VOTERS WOULD HAVE A CHANCE IF THEY WERE TO SUPPORT ME IN THIS RACE, TO EXPRESS AN OPINION ABOUT TRADITIONAL VALUES, ABOUT OUR CHRISTIAN HERITAGE, ABOUT THE FUTURE OF OUR CHILDREN, THE FUTURE OF OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM, AND I'M THE CANDIDATE FOR EXPRESSING THOSE VIEWS. SO THIS IS A SYMBOLIC ELECTION AS MUCH AS AN ELECTION FOR THE OFFICE. >>. MR McKINNEY >>. YES, AS THE PERSON WHO HAS SPENT 43 YEARS IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR, I'VE NEVER REALLY ASPIRED TO A CAREER IN POLItikS, BUT I DECIDED TO RUN FOR THE OFFICE OF LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR BECAUSE I HAVE A PASSION TO SERVE. THE THINGS I WOULD LIKE TO WORK ON AS A LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR ARE PRO BUSINESS POLICIES THAT WILL HELP OUR SMALL BUSINESS COMMUNITY THROUGH LOWER TAXES, REDUCED REGULATIONS AND TO BE- AND THEN TO BE- THE STRONG ADVOCATE FOR OUR SENIORS. OUR OFFICE ON AGING IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR, AND IT IS SOMETHING THAT I TAKE VERY SERIOUSLY AND THAT'S WHY I'M THE ONLY CANDIDATE THAT HAS ACTUALLY PUT FORTH A PLAN TO ADVOCATE FOR OUR SENIORS. THAT PLAN INCLUDES NUTRITION AND WELLNESS. IT INCLUDES SUPPORT FOR OUR SENIOR VETERANS- VERY CRItikAL ISSUE THAT'S BEEN IN THE NEWS A LOT LATELY, FINALLY TO OFFER THROUGHOUT OFFICE OF LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR INNOVATION SO THAT WE CAN PROMOTE OUR NONPROFITS THROUGHOUT OUR COMMUNITIES. >>, MR McMASTER >>. WELL, WE DO HAVE FOUR YEARS, AND THE NEXT FOUR YEARS ARE CRItikAL FOR ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT IN THIS COUNTRY AND ESPECIALLY SOUTH CAROLINA, AND WE'RE GOING TO NEED EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP AT THE STATE HOUSE TO WORK WITH THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY AND THE GOVERNOR IN GETTING THINGS DONE, AND I'M THE CANDIDATE WHO HAS HAD THAT EXPERIENCE. I WAS RONALD REAGAN'S FIRST PROSECUTOR AND THAT PREPARED ME TO BRING THE OBAMACARE LAWSUIT. I STOPPED NORTH CAROLINA FROM TAKING TOO MUCH WATER OUT OF THE CATAWBA RIVER, STOPPED THE ACLU FROM SUING AND THREATENING TO SUE THE TOWN AND CITY COUNCILS WHO WANTED TO OPEN MEETINGS WITH A PRAYER TO JESUS. ALSO A CONVICTED TO SIX PEOPLE WHO TOOK THE $278 MILLION AND SQUANDERED IT IN CAROLINA- INVESTORS. SO I'VE HAD THAT KIND OF EXPERIENCE. WE'VE CONVICTED THEM. WE'VE GOT TO MAKE THE SENIORS SAFE AND SECURE IN THEIR HOMES AS LONG AS POSSIBLE. WE'VE BOT TO BE AN ADVOCATE FOR SMALL BUSINESS AND WE'VE GOT TO STOP DC, STOP WASHINGTON, STOP WASHINGTON FROM INTRUDING ON OUR RIGHTS IN THIS STATE. >>. THANK YOU. ANDY SHAIN HAS THE NEXT QUESTION. YOU'LL START WITH MR MOORE. >>. GOOD EVENING. THERE'S BEEN A LOT OF DISCUSSION IN THE CAMPAIGN ABOUT FAITH AND RELIGION. MR MOORE, YOU BROUGHT UP CHRISTIAN SCHOOLING. MR McKINNEY, YOU RAISED YOUR FAITH IN ONE OF YOUR CAMPAIGN ADS: WHAT IS THE APPROPRIATE ROLE OF RELIGION AND RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS IN THIS STATEWIDE OFFICE? >>. I'M A PASTOR, AS YOU KNOW. HAVE NEARLY FOUR YEARS IN CONGREGATIONAL MINISTRY, ARMY CHAPLAIN, CHRISTIAN MINISTRY. I BELIEVE CHRISTIAN VALUES BELONG IN GOVERNMENT. I DO NOT BELIEVE, I DO NOT ACCEPT THE CONVENTIONAL VIEW THAT MOST A SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE, THAT VIEW HISTORICALLY ONLY MEANT THAT WE WOULD HAVE NO CHRISTIAN OR DENOMINATION, THE GOVERNMENT WOULD NOT RECOGNIZE OR SPONSOR ONE CHRISTIAN DENOMINATION. THAT DOES NOT MEAN THAT WE CANNOT HAVE CHRISTIAN VALUES PERMEATING PUBLIC POLICY. SO IF I'M ELECTED I WILL TRY TO BRING CHRISTIAN VALUES INTO PUBLIC LIFE. I WILL NOT SEPARATE GOD AND GOVERNMENT. EVEN THOUGH WE DO HAVE A VALID VIEW OF SEPARATION OF CHURCH AND STATE IN THE SENSE THAT WE DON'T HAVE A SPONSORED DENOMINATION OR RELIGION? >>. MR McKINNEY, CAN YOU RESPOND TO THAT QUESTION? >> CERTAINLY YES, THOUGH, I AM A BUSINESSMAN AND THAT'S THE PRIMARY REASON FOR MY RUNNING. I'M VERY PROUD TO SAY THAT MY FAITH IS THE COMPASS THAT GUIDES ME AND, GOING BACK THROUGH OUR COUNTRY'S HISTORY, FAITH HAS BEEN AN IMPORTANT PART ALL THE WAY FROM THE FOUNDERS UP UNTIL TODAY, AND I'M VERY PROUD TO SAY THAT I SIMPLY WILL CHOOSE TO LIVE MY FAITH IN ELECTED OFFICE. >> MR McMASTER, >> I HAVE BEEN THE TOP FEDERAL PROSECUTOR, APPOINTED, FIRST FEDERAL PROSECUTOR, RONALD REAGAN, APPOINTED WHEN HE BECAME PRESIDENT, EIGHT YEARS AS THE CHIEF PROSECUTOR FOR THE STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA. I UNDERSTAND THE CONSTITUTION, AND THE CONSTITUTION GUARANTEES A RIGHT TO FREEDOM OF RELIGION. THAT IS WHY, WHEN THE ACLU SUED GREAT, THE TOWN COUNCIL OF GREAT FALLS, I STEPPED IN AND TOLD THEM: YOU GO AHEAD AND PRAY TO JESUS. IF THAT'S THE WAY YOU PRAY AT HOME, YOU PRAY THAT WAY IN PUBLIC, AND WE'LL FIGHT WITH YOU TO STOP THOSE PEOPLE FROM SUING YOU, AND THE SUPREME COURT HAS FINALLY STARTED SEEING IT OUR WAY. >>. MR CAMPBELL, >> WELL, OBVIOUSLY, IT GOES BEYOND JUST POLItikS tokING ABOUT SOMEONE'S FAITH. YOUR FAITH IS WHO YOU ARE. IT DESCRIBES YOU AS AN INDIVIDUAL AND IT SHOWS THAT YOU HAVE SOME CORE CONVICTIONS AND CORE PRINCIPLES ABOUT YOURSELF. SO MANY TIMES TODAY YOU KNOW WE LIVE IN SUCH A SOCIETY TODAY THAT EVERYTHING HAS TO BE POLItikALLY CORRECT AND PEOPLE WILL JUMP.
