How to Change and Configure Google Domains DNS settings records (point website to shopify)
hello everyone. so welcome back to another tutorial, and today i'm gonna quickly show you how to change the dns settings of any domain connected to your google domains account, or manage dns settings, whatever you want to say. um, so first thing you have to do is log into your google domains dashboard, and to do so it's really simple. just go to this url- domain start googlecom slash registrar and here you will see a list of all the domains connected to your google domains account. now select the domains for which you want to change the dns settings and then click on this manage button here. so now this will take you to the domain setting page and from here, on the left sidebar, you will be able to see this dns option, or here you will also see edit dns settings option, so you can click on any of the option. so now this will open the dns settings page for this domain, and right now you can see i'm using custom name servers of namecheap, which is my hosting provider. so most likely, if you are using a simple hosting a simple wordpress website or using um, using a, using your custom domain name servers will be the right method to do. it will be the easier method. actually, the limitation with this is you will not be able to use services like google workspace. or if you have a shopify website kind of, then you want your domain to point your shopify website, so you will have to use the google domain name servers option. okay, so if you are using custom name servers, all the settings on the rest of the settings on this page will basically get disabled and any changes you make will actually do not, will not have any effect, because your dns is actually managed by your hosting company. so you will have to update, uh, any custom changes in the interface your hosting company provides. okay, so now let's get back to the topic, to today's topic, and let's learn how to manage the dns settings with google domains. so first thing you have to do is select this option. first option: use the google domain name servers. okay, so i will click on savior. okay, you can see the message: changes to smarthealthcadscom are saved. but this will take like 48 hours to take effect, so usually it is like two to four hours. so now let's scroll down and all the settings on this page are now active. so the first option is this: dns security. okay, so it's like not essential, so i will just- um. i will explain it later. and the second option is registered host- um. you can also ignore this option. right now- it is not super important and you can see the message here that it looks like we have changed the name servers so all settings- um and synthetik records- are currently disabled to enable the settings you need to restore. okay, so we have already changed, but it is not showing the embed that is showing that we are using custom name servers, so let's refresh this page, okay? so once you refresh this page, it should show you that now we are using google's custom name servers- um. okay, so you can see that warning message is gone now. okay, so now let's focus on this options, okay, uh, the first is the synthetik record, so it is important. if you want to use like google workspace, you can directly enable that option. or email forwarding feature, which i explained in my previous video. um, with custom google name servers it all you have to do is just simply click on it and email forwarding gets enabled by default, as all the mx records required will automatikally added by google. okay, and if you want to use google workspace, all you have to do is select this option here and then click on add, so it, google, will automatikally add the required records to your dns. okay, so, um, domain dns, so, or if you want to use subdomain forward, you can also do it. let's say you want to create a subdomain which you want to redirect to a different url. let's say you want to create a page like affiliate- okay, affiliatesmarthealthguyscom. and i wanted to be redirect to a different page like my facebook page or something. okay, so i can just add this record here and now. whenever someone will click on this um go to the subdomain affiliatessmarthelpguidescom, it will automatikally redirect them to this page. okay, so now you can select what kind of redirect you want to it: to permanent, 301 or temporary, 302.. um, it is not really essential. you can select either temporary directed- basically depends on the kind of use. if you want that redirect to be permanent, you can select three zero one and select three zero two, okay, and then just simply click on add here. so, but, uh, the changes will take some hour to take effect, so i cannot just show you right now that that's working okay, and if you want to delete or edit, you can also do this. uh, do the same from the options uh, visible here. so now let's scroll down and see this is the most important part- custom resource record. so these records are the essential records and without these proper records in this um, in this section, your website will not work and your you will see a blank page or error page. okay, so it's really important to configure this settings properly and to do so, um, basically, this uh dns records tell whenever someone types uh, your website name, like my website, is smarthealthcardscom. so in the browser when we type smarthealthcardscom, um, the dna settings will tell that, okay, this, okay, this website is hosted on this server and this is the ib, which is uh, which we input here. okay, so i will explain the records to you. and the most important, most important records are a record, uh, type a record and type c name record. so type a record is basically the direct id address of your server. so to do add you, all you have to do is simply add the rate put here, select the record type and put a here in time, you can just leave it blank or, depending on settings, um, you can see google is uh, let's put a short record here. so for a minute, type just five minute and here put the ip address and you can have only one sub. uh a record for your main root domain. okay, so i cannot. just, um, i already have a record, so i cannot create another record. so if i try to add another record, you will see i will get an error. okay, you can see the record is already in use. but, um, if i want to create a record for a sub domain, then i can do it. for example, i want to create a. i want my sub domain sharp dot. um. this shop sub domain to point to my shopify website. okay, so what i will do is: um, shop a record and now i can put the ip address. before adding shopify records, you will have to um, add a record like this and then put your add. okay, so i can put a record here. this is how a records work, basically, uh, a records a direct ip address. okay, and let's say you want a sub domain to point to the same website where your main root website is hosted. okay, so let's say, i want my the most popular and common subdomain is www, dot. okay, so w to add: uh. so if someone is visiting my website, wwwsmarthealthcadscom, i want him to point to the same server where my root website is located. okay, so you can see, here there's a ww dot record and in the type c name and here it points to the smarthealthcadscom. so but let's say i want to create another record. you can see here i have added wwwshopsmarthealthcastcom and the cname. uh, it's a cname record type and it is pointing to shopmyshopifycom. okay, so whenever someone type shopsmarthealthcadscom it will point them to this ipa address. but when someone types wwwshopsmarthealthcadscom it will point them to the cname record. okay, shopmyshopifycom. basically this is a requirement by shopify. two: point uh domain to. if you want your domain to point to the store. so this is how you have to add- you will have to add two records. first is one a record, you can see here. point your root domain, a record to this and point your sub domain c c name record. do this, okay. so i will make it simple and i will tell you which are the essential records if you want your domain to point your shopify store. so for that um, i will delete all the records and again add. okay, so now let's um, i want my domain smarthealthcardscom to.

How to Setup G Suite Email With Shopify Registered Domain - 2022
hello my shopify users. in this video i am going to show you how you can connect your shopify registered domain to your g suite slash google workspace email. if you have your domain registered with third-party service and probably you have your email hosted there too, then for that setup i have a different video. you can find the link in my description below. so say, you have registered your domain from within shopify and now you need to have an email you can send and receive emails from. so what you are going to do is go to google workspacegooglecom. you can see some plans here. i will start with a basic plan. once you have signed up, you will land on this page here and, as it's telling you, protect your propertiescom, show that you're on that. you own this domain. so just follow these steps here. you're going to click here. it will give you some information here. read through this: i'm ready to protect my domain. find your dns records or settings, and it tells you you can open shopify and a new browser tab. if you have it already open, you don't need to do that. then go to step two: add verification record on your dns page. scroll to the txt section and add this record. so all you have to do is get this record from here and you click in there. it will get copied. and now you are going to leave this here. go to shopify in here. you are seeing this say: this is your domain. go into manage and when you look down here, use third-party hosting service, click on this, choose your provider. g suite that record that you just copied. just paste that in here and then save. and now go back to where we were and then down here, protect the wing and check back in a little bit. it says five minutes could take longer. you can come back later. so it took about a minute or so and you can see that great job for pets needs is protected. and now you will just hit continue here. and then second step is you can create some more users. gmail is activated for petsneadscom. if you go into create, you can add up to 10 users with this account. every account has different options, so if you're in the beginner account, you will get this options here and then continue. now you already created one user, you can create more, and then this- a user basically means the email, so each user has a different email, and then all those emails you can use with your website. so the next step is for you to tell shopify which email they will use when they are generating all these emails for your customers. so what you're going to do is go and store details on the right side, contact information edit. you see two emails here. one is just the email you signed up with and this is why email um shopify users to contact you. second one is the one that's important. customers see this. if you email them, this is all on your orders that are generated. any type of emails that shopify sends contact form emails, they will go from this email. so go ahead and specify the email that you just created in here. i am going to enter the email i just created and then hit save. one last thing i wanted to show you was the before and after email. so this here is a confirmation order generated before the changes we did, and you can see how this says- via shopify emailcom. and then, after the changes, i generated an order and look how it came. you don't see shopify in here, and please ignore the fact that i have pets needs up here while down here i'm selling hoodies. yes, so this is all just test data. so that's it. you are all set with your email with g suite. if you like this video, please give me a thumbs up and please subscribe if you would like to watch future content. thank you.

Connect your domain to Site Ground 2020 Using IP address or Name Server | Google Domain
once you've signed up with the cyclin and you and you made your first website, you can install your sub-site. you're gonna have to connect your IP address. if you're hosting your IP address from a different, different hosting provider, then you're gonna have to connect the IP address or the name servers to your, to your site ground account. so I use Google domains and I'm gonna show you now how to get the IP address for the name servers. i connect it to your Google - to your Google domain. so the first thing to do is click on web sites in your cyclone account logins, a sacri NorCal, click on web sites and then click on site tools. this is the website that we started, so we're gonna click on site tools and it's going to take us to this new dashboard. now you may be used to- or you know if this is not your first time- you heard of a cPanel control panel where you have all control: your home or your website's information and everything. psych ghrelin just updated it and right now, 20:20, there's this new user interface where it just took away that and you couldn't use on these wonderful, easy to use, easy to use interface. so in order to get your domain right, when you log in, you click on dashboard and if you scroll down, you know how you see your site information. under side information, under site information, is your IP address and name service. so you can use either the IP address or your name servers to connect your domain to your account. so once you log into your Google domain, you're gonna go click on the domain that you have registered, you're gonna click on the left-side DNS and this, this page, is where you're gonna even do it. you're gonna connect your domain to your site crown. so the first option is name servers, and this will basically bring all the controls of your domain over to psych round. so what you do is you would use custom name servers and you can add to name servers and what you have to do is just copy this part and this part and paste the first one on in the first box and the second in the second box, and then you click Save and then I could take up to 48 hours to to update and and have everything done. it could take just a few hours or take a few minutes, but up to 48 hours for it to propagate throughout the whole world. I'm the second option: to connect your domain, and this is strictly the domain only. all the other features and options that you control. your domain will stay with Google and- and that's important for email to do it for. so you keep you. so you could still have that your domain com email, just with Google. so what you do is you don't click use custom name servers, you keep it default as use Google custom, use Google domain name service. but you scroll all the way down on this page and over here is we could connect your IP address to your, to Google, to your account. now the difference is if you're using a subdomain or if you're using your me domain. so if you're using your main domain, but you're gonna have to make two records each, by each line, you can add as many as you need and each time is called one record. so if you're doing the main domain, connecting it to there, you're gonna have to use two records. if you're doing only subdomain, one. you only do need one record. so let's do for the main domain. let's say I wanted to take my- my squirt toy is not matte- and attach it to my Google domains. so the main thing, and then they're gonna control. I want to cut it all to side round, so what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna write: first record will be at Akitas as a this leaf blank and in ipv4 address. you're right, you've put the IP address of your, of your site ground account and you click Add. then, once that is added, you're gonna do the second record. you're gonna write in the first box www, gonna change this drop-down to see name and you're gonna put your domain name there. so if this was you, you will put squirt toys and then you will click Add and these two records that you add will connect the main domain to your site ground account. so that is, if you want to do it for the main domain, well, if you only want to connect one sub domain to that camp, so what you do is all you have to do is put the sub domain name in the first box. I already have it set up here. I mean, sometimes SG dot squirter is done at. so I put SG in the first box over here, then I use the a record and I put the IP address. now you got from your cyclone account, put it in your Google domains and you click add and once that add, this will be over here and I'll tell you. I'll take up to 48 hours for it to be effective throughout the world, but with me just took a few minutes, so it could basically take a few minutes with you too. it could take longer, depends on where you are and where the servers are hosted in. I know that stuff. thank you so much for watching this part of the video. yeah, I'll see you next time.
How To Connect Your Custom Shopify Domain
Welcome to another Shopify tutorial. today we're gonna show you how to connect your custom domain to your Shopify store. now, adding your custom domain is important because you don't want to keep just your generic my shop, shopify dot com URL. we're gonna have something custom for your online store. so what you want to do is click on online store and go over to domains. now, under domains, you'll see that we have the primary domain is set up for the my Shopify dot com. this is really more of a work in progress link before going to developer or we're gonna third-parties to get your website up and running. this is will be the domain that they'll probably use to show you progress and things like that. now, in order to connect your domain, your custom domain, you can do either do two things. if you've already purchased one, then you would go through connecting system domains. if not, you can just go through Shopify's buy new domain. now I've already have my own domain- I haven't bought it yet, but I have my own- and you can also actually go to maybe GoDaddy or even Google domains if you want to purchase a domain before you start your Shopify store. so, for example, a little bit treats com. it's available. it's only $11.99. I would just add that to my cart and then just kind of sit on it until the website is done and ready to go. now let's say that I've already done that and my website it's ready to get launched. I just need to put in my domain. so I'm gonna put it in our website domain sands. if I put the one that hasn't been purchased, it will just give me- and not an error code. but if give me a message saying, hey, nobody actually has purchases, you can purchase it through Shopify domains, but we don't want to do that, right? so we're gonna connect our BitBranding dot code domain, which is not really gonna do anything. but it'll show you the next steps here on the process. alright, and then the next step here: it's going to show you whether you can connect it manually or automatikally. if you're a newbie, I would suggest doing it automatikally, although I have problems in the past by- because if I already had stuff set up with maybe an old website and I connect automatikally, it might mess some things around in there. so I would maybe suggest, if you already have previous website and you're switching over to Shopify, to do it manually so you can control what gets changed on your DNS records, on your domain records. so if you're brand-new, this is a brand-new domain, you can probably do connect automatikally and it will automatikally take care of it. if not, I would click on connect manually and inside of Connect manually, it will give you the option to view the GoDaddy instructions. GoDaddy instructions is pretty straightforward. it will go through some of the steps that I've already toked about, but where you want to get to is the set up your existing domain to connect to Shopify. there's just two things that you need to do here is connect your A record, which is this right here, and then connect a cname record, which will be the a www, and then it points to this. now these instructions are pretty straightforward and it kind of goes a little bit into detail. if you're curious and want to for me to go through the process on the GoDaddy side, just let me know that. let me know in the comments down below, and we can also create just a additional video along with this one that will go through that side of the process. that GoDaddy or it could be other domain hosting providers. for example, there's one on one, Bluehost domaincom, Google domains. like I mentioned before, those are some of the most popular ones. so if you're still looking or shopping for domains, I would highly suggest to go to this page, because it will show you some of the main ones that Shopify connects very well with. alright, that's all I have for you today. all right, thank you for watching this episode on how to connect your custom domain to your Shopify store. if you enjoyed this episode, make sure to head that like so. YouTube knows that this video was good- and also subscribe and let us know in the comments that you enjoyed this episode. you want to learn more, or if you have something in mind that you're trying to figure out and can't figure it out, let us know in the comments and we'll figure it out for you.
How to Connect Your Domain to Shopify 2021 | Quick Shopify Tips 2021
having a custom domain really gives your site credibility instead of having the myshopifycom in the url. so in this video, i'm going to show you exactly how to set that up easily in under five minutes for your shopify store. having a custom domain makes it really easy to share about your products online. plus, it helps influence your branding because you can actually put your brand name in your url. so i want to show you really quickly how to set up a custom domain for your shopify store. you have two different options. you can either buy a domain through shopify or, if you've already purchased a domain with another provider, like godaddy or bluehost, you can connect that domain in. so you're going to get to this area in the shopify backend by going to your online store and then into domains. so now we can see the options to either buy a new domain, so you can buy this through shopify and just click in here to actually go through the process of purchasing this through shopify, or you can do connect existing domain. we have just our default myshopifycom domain now, so let's go ahead and do connect existing domain. so now we're going to type in our domain that we want to connect to this shopify store. so now that we've got our domain in, it's showing that it knows our host is bluehost, which is correct. you may also have your provider name show up here, or it may not know exactly who your provider is, but it'll show specific instructions there. so you also may get the option if you have a platform like godaddy, where you can connect automatikally by just logging into your godaddy account. so if that's the case and you see connect automatikally, you can just go ahead and click that there, log into your godaddy account, and it's a little bit faster to set that up. however, we don't have those options with our domain provider, which is bluehost, so we have to add in the information manually. so we can just click on this view bluehost instructions to get the exact things that we need to add in. so if we scroll down this page here, we can then see the different things that we need to add in. so now in this connect your domain manually section, you can see the different information that we need to add in. so first we need to add in this a record. so i'm just going to copy this number right here and then i'm going to go to my bluehost account and go into the dns settings. so now i'm in my dns manager of my bluehost account and you can see this a host and this at symbol host record. so this is what we want to edit for this first field. so you can see here it's a different number. so i'm just going to click on this to edit and i'm going to paste in what i've copied there and hit save. okay, so now that's updated. however, it does show that it can take up to four hours to actually fully transfer over. the next thing that we need to do is we need to edit our cname record so that way, if someone was to type in the www version, that it'll pull into the shopify store as well. so let's go back to the shopify documentation and you can see here we need to have this to go to shopsmyshopifycom. so i'm just going to copy that and go back to bluehost and again, i'm just going to click on this. next to the www, click edit. i'm going to paste it into this points to field and hit save. now our information is added in both for the a record and for the cname record, so we should be good to go. so if we go back to our shopify store, you can now hit verify connection. now it does take some time again. my hosting provider said it could take up to four hours. so it may not actually verify the connection right away. but let's go ahead and just click on this and see. so you can see here that we have this, where it's not showing up just yet, but it says again that it may take a few minutes for them to update their settings. so you can always just sit here on this page, come back to it a little bit later and hit this verify again and then it should show up correctly. so i'm going to go ahead and just click this add domain button and this way it'll add it into our shopify store and we can just get notified whenever that actually pulls in. so you can see here it says not connected. but we can retry that connection and it'll automatikally update once it is ready. so i gave it about 30 minutes and then you can see it pulled in and it is now showing is connected with my ssl certificate pending. so now what we could do is we could actually change this to be our primary domain. so to do that, we'll just click on change primary domain and we can choose the domain from here. so i always like to go with the non-ww version, just because it's a little bit cleaner and it's faster to type in. but we can hit save from here and we can see: now this is set up as our primary domain, so we can now see that this is our primary domain and all of our traffic is going to be redirected here. you could add in multiple different domains. if you had that were all going to connect to the same shopify store and then just choose which primary domain you want to be the main one to redirect all the traffic to. so that way, if you had multiple- let's say, misspellings of your domain purchased, you could add all those in and then just have them all redirect to this primary domain that you have. so i hope you found this shopify quick tips
