Bulk Update Cost Per Item for Shopify Products

so Shopify has this new feature to store the cost per item for pricing, and I'll show you how to update it using excel file for your products. there are a couple of ways to do it and I'll show two of them. so first of all, typically your products come from some kind of window and if you have a file from the vendor with, like here, for example, with the SKU and the cost of your product, you can do it simply like that: rename the SKU column to variant variance queue and the cost of variant cost cost, and that's it, save the file and import it with with the excel file. and now let's check meanwhile if we will have this queue in our file. so this product SKU is 104, so here it is, and if we refresh now it should be already updated. yep, here it is. so the excel file update is just just this one column by the SKU, and when the import finishes you can download the import results file as usual, and in that file you will see exactly now here are the same SKUs, but since Shopify can have several, like several products having the same SKU, so here you will have all the product ID, handle and variant ID for all the products where the SKU was updated, as you will see the input result and command what happened to it. so even if your products see several products have the same SKU, you can still run this import and you still see all the updates across all your products. this was one method. the other method is that let's say you already have those products in your store but there is no file but skew from your window. so in that case you can just do the export of products with inventory variants and variant SKU, just so you have that column there. now let's do the export now. one important aspect is that you see, here we have a separate checkbox for the variant cost and when you enable notiked how the estimate changes. it's basically because exporting takes longer, because it has two requests for each variant what the cost is. so use it only when you really need to export the cost. if you don't need, just don't check this checkbox. but for now we had it on. so the export is completed. and now, if we look at this file, of course we'll have there all the product basic information along with the variant columns, and so in this case, if we just want to update the cost and nothing else, you can basically delete the following columns, or all these primary columns, including the variant inventory item ID. we don't need it, but keep the variant ID, because those two are used to identify the product and the variant ID will be used to identify the variant. then we don't need those other columns, unless you you want to see what is what. but essentially, here for the next to the prices, we have this variant cost column with already the values which we imported earlier. so we can essentially just, if you don't want to update those, you can delete them like this from from the file. oops, don't just don't just clear the values of the columns, but really delete the columns. don't do like this, because this means that you are setting this value to the empty one. but if you really delete the columns like this, then it means you are not changing anything about them. you are just changing these values. now, here again, similarly as before, but we have all the ways, how to identify the product, a variant, and now we specifically change the cost of of those values and if we want to clear them out, we can just delete those values and and then they will get removed from the Shopify. okay, now let's save the file as unread: cost import. that the cost press import. and let's see one sample. okay, this was what we changed. cessna citation longitude, while the important is working. we can just find that product okay, and the cost is already set to 50. obviously it it's already finished. so, yeah, that's how you update the variant costs. in case you have any questions, feel feel free to contact us. our support will help you. bye you. you.

How To Set Sales Prices To Products and Variants || Shopify Help Center

Setting a sale price on products and variants is a way to discount items without using a discount code. This method shows both the original price and the sale price, so your customers can see the price comparison. For example, if you are having a sale and want to discount all fitness trackers, set the sale prices on your fitness tracker products so it shows both the sales price and the original price. The sales price is called the compare at price in Shopify. Seeing both prices helps offer an incentive for customers to purchase as they see the bargain. This video shows how to set the sale price on a product and product variants. First, how to set the sale price on a single variant product. Start in the Shopify Admin Click Products. Click on the product you’d like to set a sale price on. Scroll down to the Pricing section. In this example, the Waterproof Fitness Tracker has a Price of $30.00. Take the original price of the product and enter it in the Compare at Price section. Then adjust the value in the Price field to show the new sale price. In this example, the new sale price is $20.00.The customer sees that this product is now $10.00 off. The value in Compare at price must be higher than the value in Price to show a sale. If the Price is higher than the Compare at price, then the item will not appear as though it’s on sale. Click Save. Click View to see how the product appears on your online store. Next, how to add a sale price to a product with multiple variants. On the All Products tab, click on the product you’d like to set a sale price on. Scroll down to the Variants section. In this example, this tracker has ten variants. Click Edit next to the first variant that needs a sale price. This opens the variant product page. Scroll to the Pricing section. In this example, the Bracelet Fitness Tracker in the color black has a Price of $40.00.. Add the original price of the product to the Compare at Price field. Then adjust the Price field to show the new sale price. In this example, the new sale price set in the Price field is $30.00.. Click Save. Click on the next variant that you need to edit and adjust as necessary To do this quickly. this can also be done in the Bulk Editor. Watch the video linked above to learn how to use the Bulk Editor. Click the arrow to go back to the product page. Click View and select the variant you made changes to to see how this product’s price appears on your online store. The theme you have published determines how the sale price displays on the online store pages. Some themes, like Pop, have badges that display the item is on sale. There are also Apps in the Shopify App store that can add sale badges. For single-variant products, the sale’s price often displays with both the Compare at price and Price. have you ever thought about how to customize shipping for your, for your shopify store? have you ever thought about that one products maybe cost more to ship than the other one, but in the general shipping policy you have only one um shipping price that you put for all your products. you're not alone. hey, it's adam from shopify wordpress, tik uh. today in this video, i'm gonna show you how to customize your shipping based on on on single products. if you have different products, you can set shipping rules for every products that you have. so instead of you making a general shipping policy or shipping rules for all your products and then at the end, one of them end up costing you more money to ship to the customer than the other products. so we're gonna solve that today. so we go log into the uh shopify store and we're gonna click on settings and from the settings page we're gonna choose shipping and delivery and from here we're gonna leave it. and then we go to aliexpress. look for products. so if you notike, we have our oberlo app is open as well, so we're gonna need the overlaw for some settings here. so first we go to aliexpress. i just made another video about the? s pocket and the comparison between aliexpress and s pocket. so you need to check that out before you subscribe to s pocket, because s pocket is a lot of money to pay on a monthly basis. so check that video first. so from aliexpress, again, my website, or this partikular store, is about um pets supply. this store main page is kind of nice, isn't it? so i have um pets, collars, pets, toys, pets bits or house and grooming, so we're gonna choose um we're gonna import a toy as an example to our store, so we're gonna do it together. so let's go to alexpress and then we're gonna file. let's find um docs toy in the search bar and if you are selling to customers in the united states, so from this page, from the search page it was an available dog's toy but it gave me option of dog toy is kind of the same. so from this page we're going to choose ship from only us and while we do that, on the other video i explained in details that some of some of aliexpress products, if not most of them, are based in the united states. so if you're selling, selling your products to people residents of the united states, is it better to buy the products that are based in the united states, the shipping time will be less than import them from aliexpress. so we're going to look for a toy. it's kind of nice. it has 4.8 stars and 347 salt. this one has once, um 1697, sold 4.7. but let's go this one, the first one. it's on sale too, so we're gonna click on it. and then again, from this page, we're gonna choose ship from united states. and this one. it says the shipping time between five to seven days. so it's not about the shipping time, but the shipping costs 12.63. let's see if they have different options for shipping, and they have another option from 47, but it costs 15. so you're not going to make any money out of that. close it. let's look for another one. i don't want to make the video very long, so we're going to choose any products just for the um, for the sake of the tutorial of this video. so we're going to choose this product again, because most of my- my customers are in the united states- are going to choose ship from the us. i'm going to see the price and the shipping time. so today is january, i think 12.. no, okay, uh, today, january 11, at nine o'clock, and this is: they should be delivered before february 13. that's about 30 days up and it costs five dollars. so, nope, let's choose another one. let's choose this. one has only 25 items, items sold. let's choose that and again. so you have different options. either ship from china, united states, spain, russia and france. so if you choose any of the other ones, it's gonna. the shipping time is gonna take longer and longer, but since our customers are in the united states, we're going to ship. we're going to choose ship from and again delivered before february 13. that's a lot of time, that's over 30 days. so, nope, we're gonna choose another one. let's choose this one here and again. ship from us. the shipping costs nine dollar. let's see if they have different options. the shipping time is not bad: from 4 to 13 days, that's great. that's like amazon. so no more or no other options, because 9. so we have another option that we didn't choose in the beginning, so let's go to free shipping. so one of the options: it says free shipping and we're going to choose the free shipping. so it's going to give us all the products that are shipped from us to us for free, and let's choose any one of these. so for sure, you kind of get the idea that what i'm doing is we find a product that ships for free from us to us residents and that the shipping time doesn't take more than um 13 days- from 4 to 13 days, that's the average. so we're going to choose united states. again, january 24th it's free shipping. let's see if they have more options. nope, they don't have more options. so january 24 it's about uh, today the 11th, uh it's almost the 12th, because by midnight it's going to be 12. so it's um. so that's about 13 days. so 13 days delivery is not bad. so we're gonna import this products to our obilo app and then from our below we're gonna import it to the shopify store. so for the, for those people that do not know the orbital extensions, i will be making another video about it. so it's easy to um have an extensions and then when you go to aliexpress, it's automatikally showed up um a button here and then when you click on it, it's imp will import it to your um uh oberlo app and then from the upper low, you're gonna import it to your shopify store. uh, either you can import in bulk or you can import in um one by one. so we're kind of done with aliexpress. i'm going to close it. now we go to obilo and then we're going to refresh your page. there you go. this is a product that we just uh imported from aliexpress. so this kind of long title- so long title- is not good for the seo search optimization. then we're going to change it or we're going to call it interactive catch toy for cuts and ducks, and then we're gonna choose our collection, so it's a toy. so, for those people that do not know how to create a shopify store, it's- uh, i'll put it in the description- uh, one of my videos toking about how to create a shopify store. but i'm gonna make another video. that's kind of old video that i i made it a while ago, i think a year or more. so i'll be making another one soon, in the near future, and show you from a to z how to open it from the beginning, from buying your domain, connect your domain, all that uh, customizing your store, importing your um products and setting up all the apps and the payment processors. so we chose the collections toy. that's where they go, and we're gonna take a look um the description. it's not bad. so origin is from china. so, um, 99 of the products in the world are from china, so there's nothing wrong with that. and the materials, plastik set type: yes, interactive toys, blah, blah blah, feature one and two. it looks good. so we go to the varian and if you notike our oberlo set, the shipping to canada automatikally, because that's where i live, but i'm not shipping it to canada, i'm shipping it to us, from us to us. so we're gonna choose united states. again, there are different options. uh, the first one is free from nine days to 19 days. you remember, a couple minutes ago, from aliexpress, it says it may take up to january 24, which is 13 days from today. now, it's not, it's if it may ship less than that. so it's, uh, nine to nine days. so in 10 days we're gonna choose that, we're going to click ok and then we're going to see the price, our profit. this is call this, this cost, this is the price of the products and this is the price that we're gonna list in our store and this our profit: nine dollar, nine dollar, seven dollar, seven dollar, seven dollar. but remember, we're not shipping from china, australia- excuse me, united kingdom or france or anything, because then it's going to take longer to reach to the customers. so we are only choosing from united states.

Shopify Fees 2020 | How Much Does it Cost to Sell on Shopify?

is it actually cheaper to sell on Shopify than Etsy? let's find out. hey guys, welcome back to confessions of a girlboss. my name is Kristy and I help women turn their passion into their business. today we are gonna find out if it's actually cheaper to sell on Shopify versus Etsy. I have a few videos toking about Etsy fees, how it's broken down my biggest Etsy bill ever- so I will leave them linked up in the right-hand corner. I believe it's up here. yeah, I believe it's up here for you to check out in case you have missed them. but today we're going to go through Shopify fees and kind of break down the different pricing structures that they offer and we're really gonna find out if it is cheaper to sell on Shopify vs Etsy. if you haven't already and you do like these types of videos, and be sure to hit that red button down below and subscribe to my channel- I post new videos every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, all about turning your passion into your business. if you are still on the fence about opening a Shopify store, be sure to sign up for my free five-day crash course in migrating from Etsy to Shopify. it'll walk you through absolutely everything you need to know to get your Shopify website up and running all of my hints and tricks that I used when I opened my Shopify store, and it's really chock-full of so much information that it's totally free. so click that link in the description box down below to get access to that crash course. so Shopify's fee structure is very different to Etsy's. first of all, there are no listing fees, and I was so happy when I figured this out because I was paying so much to Etsy in listing fees every month and it was just a huge chunk that was taken off of my bill in my finances. it was awesome. but basically what Shopify does is they charge different transaction fee rates based on what plan you have. so I'm gonna come over to my computer now and walk through the different plans that Shopify offers- kind of the different perks of having each plan- and then we're gonna come on back and tok about an example of how much money I've saved if I was using Shopify 100% the biggest year of my business. okay, so we are currently on the Shopify pricing page. so, as of right now, they are actually extending their free trial to 90 days. so if you are on the fence, now is the perfect time to try Shopify out 90 days. it's like amazing. so basically, Shopify has three fee structures and these are all monthly prices. so you have basic, which is 29, regular, 79 and advanced- $2.99. so for this first section, you basically get all of these same features with each tier. there's just a few discrepancies, like in the staff accounts. you get some more with the more expensive plan and with the locations for the Shopify point-of-sale you also get more locations with the more expensive plan. but each each plan features an online store, unlimited products and no listing B's, staff accounts, 24/7 support, a sales channel, locations, manual order creation, discount codes, free SSL certificate, abandoned cart recovery and gift cards. so abandoned cart recovery is one of my favorite features and I don't believe this was available in the basic plan when I had my store. but basically what you can do is if somebody adds stuff to their cart and they go to check out but they abandon the checkout process, you can send them an email a certain amount of time later saying, oh hey, did you forget this was here? and hopefully bring some more people back to your store to finish that purchase. so the biggest difference in this section is the reports. so you do get some more detailed reporting with the to more advanced plans and you get the advanced report builder with the most expensive $2.99 plan. and then the $2.99 plan is the only plan that has the third party calculated shipping rates. okay. so as for shipping, again, basically, all the same, you do get a bit of a bigger discount when you go up to that 299 plan. I didn't really use Shopify for shipping. I toked about this on Monday's video, but I used a different app to do all of my shipping on. so stay tuned for Monday's video to take a look at that. but the app that I also use to give you a discount on shipping too. and then the two advanced plans are the only ones that have the Priority Mail Kubik pricing- okay. so payment and fee structure is probably the biggest thing you're here for. so basically, all plans will get the fraud analysis, which is awesome. Shopify will basically tell you if you should be on the alert for a fraudulent order or if it is safe to ship it. so basically, a Shopify has a Shopify payments platform, so it's a built in platform within Shopify. it's very similar to Etsy payments. it's kind of how they capture orders and how they process orders. so if you sign up for that, which I do, suggest you do sign up for it if it is available in your country, because it is really easy to use and it is a lot cheaper to use that with Shopify. so if you sign up for that, you don't have any additional processing fees for your orders, which is huge. you literally only have the credit card rates that you see here. so the online credit card rates are again pretty comparable: 2.9 percent plus 30 cents, and then that goes down to 2.4 percent plus 30 cents. I believe the 2.9 percent plus 30 cents is also what you would pay on PayPal. it is really comparable to all e-commerce platforms. and then you do have the in-person credit card rates that go from 2.7 percent down to 2.4 percent, and then this is the fee that you will pay if you decide not to use Shopify payments. so this is the fee you will pay, plus the additional fees from that third-party vendor, if you decide to not use Shopify payments. and then, last but not least, is the point-of-sale. so all plans are compatible with the point-of-sale and they are all 89 dollars a month if you want to do the point-of-sale Pro or you can try it out until the end of October 2020. so that is everything. they also have a Shopify Lite plan for nine dollars, which means you could just sell on Facebook. so if you're into that, maybe give that a try, and then they also have Shopify plus, but that is basically everything. if you are on the fence, like I said, I would definitely take advantage of this because that is huge. ok, so hopefully that breakdown made sense to you. I will leave a link in the description box down below to that page I just showed you in case you want to dive into it a little bit deeper, but I feel like it is pretty straightforward. so now let's go back and do a comparison. so if you watched my biggest Etsy bill ever video, which I will leave a link up here or up here, I honestly I have no idea. I have no idea which site I should really get that down, but if you watch that video, you will know that when I made 108 thousand dollars, I paid Etsy eleven thousand one hundred twenty dollars in fees, which is nuts. so for fun, I had to go back and I have to see how much money I would have saved if I had that same here with my Shopify site. one hundred percent. so, since a Shopify doesn't charge card processing fees and they also don't charge listing fees. that is a huge chunk that is taken off of my bill already, because those were three thousand one hundred ninety-eight dollars and four thousand four hundred dollars respectively. so that's a lot. so I went through on. I just did the calculations manually. so for that year I had a four thousand two hundred and twenty seven orders. so for those orders I did the thirty cents which is part of the transaction fees for Shopify, and I did calculate this on the basic plan and I am looking down because I have my computer here with the numbers. I calculated this on the basic plan, so the two point nine percent, so just wait. so for the transaction fees I would have paid a four thousand four hundred and seventeen dollars in transaction fees for my one hundred and eight thousand dollar-a-year. now I didn't want to just forget about the monthly fee, so I did just do the twenty nine dollars a month. this is give or take because, as you will see in Monday's video, the

How to Add Shipping Cost on Shopify (SIMPLE)

in this video I'll show you how you can add shipping costs in your Shopify store. so for that you want to sign in and click on settings right there, and they'll then send you to the settings page, where you should be able to find shipping and delivery. so click on shipping and delivery. they will then send you over to the shipping page. so right there you'll find shipping and shipping rates as well. so first of all you want to click on manage rates. this will then send you over to that page, which probably has some presets installed already. so right there we have shipping to the Netherlands, which is five euros, almost five euros, right now. you then have shipping in Europe, almost 14 euros, and right there, rest of the world, 20 euros. so basically, what you can do, you can add different shipping zones. so the Netherlands is the shipping zone, Europe and then the rest of the world. if you want to add one, click on create shipping zone and you can- and choose a country. so let's say that you want to add shipping for the United States. you basically type in United States, right there, and then right there as well. so basically select the country or zones that you want to add. there we go. you can then scroll down and click on Add rate right there, and then you can actually set this up. so there are a few different ways and different things you can do so you can set up your own rates or use the carrier- use carry or app to calculate rates. so I'll just go off my loan for now. you can go to standard one now, for example, that could then be: if you base this on your order price. you could be, let's say, minimum price: zero, just like that, and then basically the fees and the shipping rate would be five euros. okay, so from zero go, I mean euros, in this case from zero. your, as on, they'll have to pay five euros and shipping. so with this you always have shipping. now the maximum price could also be, let's say, 50 euros, and if you didn't click on done, you've just added your first shipping rate. now let's say that you want free shipping after, like I mean, yeah, after 50 euros. so minimum 50 euros is no shipping rate. you can then do free shipping right there. you can then click on add conditions based on order price- minimum price: 50 euros- and then add zero euros shipping. click on done and you now have zero shipping from 50 euros and up. so that's pretty much how you can add shipping costs on your Shopify store. if this video helps you out, make sure you go ahead and leave a like on the video. that would help me out, and then I'll see you in the next video. have a good day.

Shopify Data Reports: Gross Sales, Net Sales, Total Sales and updating cost per item

at. hey guys, welcome back. today we are going to look at the shopify admin panel and, uh, let's look at a few reports. so this is one of the reports which shopify shows for all stores: the sales over time. it basically tells you the number of orders that were ordered in your store and also shows you the cross sales, the net sales and the total sales. so we're going to look at how shopify actually calculates these amounts. what is gross sales, what is net sales and what is total sales? to calculate gross sales, you've got to multiply two figures, that is, the number of items that were sold, into the cost price of each item. so you can see here that the gross sales is 34 880. and if i actually just go into these two dummy orders which i created, you can see that the first order has a total of twenty nine thousand three hundred thirty four, and the second order has a total of eleven thousand one ninety five. so if you add these two, it comes to, uh, thirty four thousand eight eighty. so this is how shopify calculates the gross sales. the discount is is pretty straightforward. it's, it is: uh, it shows the discount which you gave on an order. so in this case i gave a discount of 199 for this order and it shows correctly that the discounts were 199.. the returns is it if a customer actually has a problem with the order and actually returns the order, or if the customer couldn't fulfill the payment for some reason? now you can mark that as return. in this case i have no returns. the net sales is the sum of the sorry. the net sales is the gross sales minus discounts, minus returns. so 34 080 minus 199 comes to 34 680 and the total sales is the net sales plus shipping plus tax. so in this case you can see that the net sales is 34 680 plus 1400 for shipping, plus 4479 for tax, which comes to forty thousand five fifty nine, and the shipping it's again. these two numbers are pretty straightforward. if you go into your orders you can see that you charged a tax of 4479 over here, which correctly shows over here, and if you go into this order you can see that the shipping cost was 1400, which shows rightly over here. so this is the sales over time. this is a really useful report. what you can do is actually put a goal for your total sales. say you want to hit two extra sales in one month. put that as a goal and keep tracking this report every day to see how far you are from achieving that goal. another important thing to note is that you have to enter the cost price of each product variant on the shopify admin panel. that's the only way you can see these numbers. if you don't actually enter the cost price, shopify won't be able to calculate the gross sales and the net sales and the total sales. so let me just show you how you can actually enter the cost sale of each product if you actually go into the products, go into the product and then go into the variance. so in this product, uh, nike air force has seven variants and if you go into the variant, you can see the field for cost per item. so you can see that the price- this is the selling price, this is the cost price. and there is an easier way to actually update your cost per item than going to each product variant. what you can do is actually go to all products and select all the products which you want to add the cost per item and you click on edit products and then you can add the fields which you want to edit the details for. in this case i want to add the cost per item. so you can see that the cost per item is added over here. so this is an easier way of updating the cost items for all your product variants in one go. you still have to manually enter the product cost per price for each item, but it's easier than going to each product variant page and doing that manually. that would take much more time. so that's it for today. in the next few videos we look into more reports and we'll analyze what are the important reports that you, as a shopify store owner, should focus on. thank you, have a good day.
