We Sent Garlic Bread to the Edge of Space, Then Ate It

This is not a normal video. We are sending garlic bread to the edge of space. Many people have sent objects into space using balloons, usually as a marketing stunt. However, contrary to what many press releases say, these objects have not actually reached space. Most standard organizations agree that space begins at the arbitrary 100 km-high Kármán line. These balloons only reach about 1/3 of this height, and they definitely do not orbit the Earth. Orbiting the Earth requires speeds of tens of thousands of kilometers per hour. That's what rockets are for. Today, we are using a weather balloon. It's quite large, and we are going as high as we can with this payload.

- Weather balloons only reach about 1/3 of the height considered as space.

- The temperature gets colder as you go higher, but it gets warmer as you reach a certain altitude.

- The idea that marketing stunts have reached space is due to the use of fisheye lenses, which exaggerate the curvature of the Earth.

- We are calling it the edge of space, which is a marketing term, but the atmosphere is so thin up there that it's good enough.

- We chose garlic bread because it is delicious and someone has already sent pizza into space before.

Creative Inspirations paint is good . . . except 2 things

Alright, today I'm going to review Creative Inspirations acrylic paint specifically for use in acrylic paint pouring. Creative Inspirations is made by a company called Creative Mark, which is a Chinese art supply company. They generally sell this paint at Jerry's, Adorama, online, Walmart, and Amazon. I have not found it in a local store, so if you have, please let me know in the comments below.

Now, this paint is a student-level acrylic, which means it's not the highest quality of paint. But with acrylic paint pouring, I don't think wasting your money on the best quality of paint is necessarily the best option, so that is perfectly fine for what we're doing with this art form. One of the prominent acrylic pour artists that uses this paint quite a bit is Molly's Artistry, and if you know Molly, you know she creates amazing artwork. So, I know that this paint is great for acrylic paint pouring. We're going to go into some details about lightfastness, pigments used, how well it mixes, and how well it dilutes in different mediums, so you can get an idea if this is the type of paint you want to use for your acrylic paint pouring.

First thing we want to get into is pricing. Now, I could only find this online, so if you have found it in your local store, please let us know in the comments below and let us know what the price is where you're at. The pricing is different based on metallic or regular paint. I found that you can get it in a 1.5-liter container, which is about 61 ounces. For metallic paints, it's right around 49 cents per ounce as of December 2021 when this video was done. For regular color paints, it's about 31 cents per ounce for that 61-ounce container. Now, if you go to the mid-size container, which is about 17 ounces, these are the nice squeeze bottles that have the cap that you can recap and just squeeze out of the top rather than just having a screw-on top. These bottles for metallic paints are about 58 cents per ounce, and for the regular paints, it's about 41 cents per ounce. And then you can buy them in regular four-ounce tubes, which came out to be about 87 cents per ounce for both metallic and regular colors. Although not all the metallics were in the smaller amounts. Now, pricing-wise, this is actually a spectacular price per ounce. Most of the acrylic paints, the Amsterdams, the Liquitex, and things like that, are going to be more like a dollar per ounce, even in bulk. So being able to get that much paint for 49 cents or 31 cents per ounce is pretty amazing. So, in that regard, I'll give it a big thumbs up.

Now, let's talk about the pigments used in this paint. The first thing I want to show is each one of these paint tubes actually has the pigment name right on them. So, you can actually look up what pigment that is, and for the sake of layering paints, you can decide how thick or thin that paint will be. So, hopefully, you can get some movement and maybe some cellular action from that. The one thing that they don't have is the lightfastness and transparency information on the back. Most higher quality paints will have a lightfastness and transparency rating on the back, and these don't have that. Which, I'm going to assume means that they are probably lightfastness 3, 4, or 5 on the ASTM scale. I'll link to that scale in the description below, but essentially, that just means that in direct sunlight, these colors are probably going to last months. In regular normal display conditions, like on your wall in your house where it's not getting direct sunlight, for a paint that has a lightfastness of three, most people say it's going to last 15 to 50 years. So, it's still going to last a long time. And if you put a good varnish on top, it's going to last even longer. So, personally, I wouldn't worry about that. I think this is going to last potentially multiple generations. For the transparency, because it doesn't tell you what it is, what you can do is just print out a sheet of paper that has black lines or draw black lines with a permanent marker on it and take a little bit of your paint, paint over the black line, and then see how much the black line shows through once it's dry. The more it shows, the more transparent it is. The less it shows or it doesn't show at all, that means it's very opaque. So, not having that information isn't a deal-breaker because it's so easy to test for these paints.

The next thing I wanted to do is just try to mix a few of the paints to see how well they mix. We're going to mix an orange with yellow and red, and we're going to mix a purple with crimson and phthalo blue. So, let's see how that goes. This is the cadmium orange hue. I didn't mean the orange to be here. We're going to mix orange with yellow and red, and same thing with the blue and red. So, let's see how that goes.

Now, let's talk about how this paint mixes with different mediums. I'm going to mix it with pouring medium, glue, and Floetrol to see how well the colors hold up. I'm mixing 5 grams of the purple paint with 10 grams of Liquitex pouring medium, which is a 2 to 1 ratio. I'm doing the same with glue and Floetrol. Let's take a look at the results. The Liquitex mixing went great, and I didn't lose much of the color. The glue mixing also seemed to mix quite well, and the color remained nice and vibrant. The same goes for the Floetrol mixing. It mixed well, and I didn't have any issues with the colors. When comparing the three together, the Floetrol mix looks slightly lighter, but it's not very distinct. Now, let's try a 10 to 1 ratio of pouring medium to paint. This will take a little longer to mix, but overall, the pigmentation looks decent, even with the higher ratio. So, I would give this a thumbs up for how well it mixes and a thumbs sideways for its pigmentation. It's not the greatest, but it's not bad either.

Now, let's do a pour using the straight colors from this kit. We have permanent red, cadmium orange hue, cadmium yellow hue, and titanium white. Let's see how this pour turns out. A few quick comments about how this looks. I really don't like how the white turned out. Some of the inferior whites out there are prone to have splotchy colors. So, I don't like the white. The other colors, on the other hand, I think are great. I mean, I get some nice definition, and the red looks nice and vibrant. The orange is always rough, so I'm not too worried about that, plus there was a ton of orange there. So, color-wise, it's a student-level acrylic, so I'd give it a thumbs up and a sideways. Overall, for the price, you really can't go wrong. Molly's Artistry uses these colors quite a bit, and she has some fantastic pores. So, there are definitely some very good things going on for this paint type.

In conclusion, Creative Inspirations acrylic paint is a great option for acrylic paint pouring. It mixes well with different mediums and offers vibrant colors. While the pigmentation may not be the greatest, it still performs well for the price. The availability of this paint online makes it easily accessible for artists. However, the lack of information about lightfastness and transparency is a drawback. Overall, this paint provides good value and is suitable for acrylic paint pouring projects.

Creative Ideas Painting with Tactilcolor 3D Bubble Finger Paint Pebeo

We are going to hold a workshop with children where they will create a mural on the theme of the sea and marine animals. All the children will work together on this project, which is quite special because we will be using 3D bubble tactile color paint. This foam paint allows for finger painting and working in volume, using different techniques such as brushes and spatulas.

So, this is the project we will be working on. Now, children, you can come and sit around the table and we can begin. For this workshop, we will need a large canvas to draw and paint the sea and the sky. We will also need a large piece of sturdy cardboard, scissors, and a pen to draw and cut out the marine animals. The children can use wide brushes, spatulas, or even brush brushes. We will do this part first, which will be the sea, and here will be the sky.

Now, there are two ways you can work with the brushes. You can use the 3D bubble tactile color paint on the entire surface, or you can use your fingers to paint the sky and create nice volume effects. But first, we will finish the sea, and then we can use a small spatula to make little waves in the water.

The children have just finished the background canvas, and in the meantime, we will move on to the second step of the project. Each child will receive an animal and can paint it in the color of their choice.

So, here you have different shapes and you can see all the colors. We will open the paint pots, and then you can use your fingers to apply the paint on your animal. You can use all the colors you want, it will make it even more beautiful.
