5. Define your general campaign settings: Give your campaign a name that reflects exactly what you are advertising. Deselect Display Networks to avoid wasting money on useless clicks. Enable the Search Network if you want to show your ads on the standard Google search engine. Define a start and end date for your campaign and set up an ad schedule if needed.
6. Define your target audience: Use Advanced search to find the locations that you want to target. Select United States if you ship your products only to the US. Change the target from presence or interest to presence to make sure that your ads will only be shown to people who are actually physically located in the United States. Select a language of your customers (in our example, English).
7. Set your budget and bidding strategy: Decide on the currency that you want to use to pay for your advertising costs. Decide on your average daily budget (in our example, $10). Set your maximum cost per click bid limits (in our example, $1). Enable conversion tracking using Google Analytics to change your bidding strategy later to maximize your conversions.
8. Use ad extensions: Add sitelink extensions that lead to different pages on your online store. Add some callout extensions. This will increase your click-through rate and lower the price that you have to pay for each click.
9. Define the search terms that you want your ads to show up for: Dedicate one ad group to one keyword group to make your ads as relevant as possible for your keywords. Use exact match, phrase match, and modified broad match to trigger your ad.
10. Create compelling ads: Use your keyword (in our example, standing desk) in your headlines and display path to make your ad more relevant to your target search term. Use your keyword once or twice in your ad description and use up as many characters as you can to boost your click-through rate. Create three different ads per ad group to find the ad that works the best for your specific keyword.
