Editing Collection Pages on Shopify
Published on: June 4 2023 by pipiads
In this article, we will be discussing a Shopify secret on how to organize and remove or add collections from the built-in collection page within your Shopify store. We will also discuss how to change the order of the collections displayed on the page.
Steps to Organize and Edit Built-in Collection Page:
1. Go to your Shopify administration and navigate to the online store.
2. Click on navigation and create a new menu called All Collections.
3. Add the collections you want to display on the built-in collection page as menu items and link them to their respective collections.
4. Save the new menu.
5. Check the built-in collection page to see if the collections have been updated according to the new menu. You can reorder, add, or remove collections from here.
If the above steps don't work for you, then your theme might not be compatible with this change. In that case, you need to make a code edit in the HTML CSS editor of your theme.
Code Edit:
1. Look for the line for collection in collections in the list collections liquid.
2. Replace it with the new code for linked in linked lists or collections and assign collection equals to linked object.
3. Save the changes.
With this Shopify secret, you can easily organize and edit the built-in collection page of your store. You can add, remove, or reorder collections as per your requirement. If your theme is not compatible, you can make a code edit to make it work. Give it a try and make your built-in collection page look more organized and user-friendly.

Shopify 2.0 Templates Tutorial - Create Different Layouts for Product Pages & Collection Pages
Hey guys, in my recent YouTube poll, Shopify 2.0 was the most voted topic. Today, I want to discuss page templates, an underrated feature of Shopify 2.0. One common question I get is how to add a feature to one product page without affecting the rest of the products. This is where page templates come in handy. It's also useful for creating different designs for flagship products. Allbirds is a great example of this with their different product page templates. You can also use page templates for collections and static pages. The process is the same, duplicate the default template and create a new one. Remember to assign the template and be conscious of the content you're putting on there. Metafields can be used for the same template with different content. I'm also launching a members-only community on Discord where you can get consultation from me and a 30% discount on my services.
