A schedule is something that many Facebook advertisers and clients request because they may only want their campaigns to run at specific times. This can be especially important for lead generation campaigns, where you want to be able to contact leads immediately. So, let's dive in and see how to set up a schedule using Facebook Ads rules.

First, let's talk about a simple way to do this using lifetime budgets. However, I'm not a fan of lifetime budgets because they require you to constantly create new campaigns, which can disrupt the learning phase. Instead, I prefer using daily budgets, which allow you to keep your campaigns running as long as you want.

Now, let's see how to set up a schedule with daily budgets. Open your Facebook ad account and go to the ad set level. This is where most advertisers want to set their schedule. However, you can do this at any level. Click on Rules and create a new rule.

Rules in Facebook Ads automate certain activities, and we'll be using them to set our schedule. Select all active campaigns and choose whether you want to turn them on or off at specific times. For example, you might want your campaigns to only run during regular business hours, like 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday.

Set up a custom schedule and select the days and times you want your campaigns to run. In this example, we'll choose Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm. Once you've set up your schedule, give the rule a name and create it.

Now, to turn off the campaigns at 5pm, create another rule with the same settings, but set the time range to 5pm. Name this rule accordingly.

And that's it! You've successfully set up a Facebook Ads schedule using rules. You can manage and edit these rules as needed. This is a great tool for businesses that want to run their campaigns at specific times for better results, such as lead generation campaigns.

Secondly, the variable to success is now largely a matter of ad copy. Advertisers all have access to the same Facebook ads platform, so the game is won through good old-fashioned copywriting. Learning from copywriting masters like David Ogilvy and Eugene Schwartz is crucial.

To create custom audiences, go into your Facebook Ads Manager, click on audiences, and create a custom audience. The four audiences to create are video views, retention, lead form, Instagram, and Facebook page. Each audience should have a retention period of 90 days.

Once you've created your custom audiences, it's time to put it all together in your ad campaign. Choose your objective and create your campaign and ads as usual. At the ad set level, select all four custom retargeting audiences. Leave age, gender, and detailed targeting alone, as the custom audiences will take care of that.
