SHOPIFY SHIPPING RATES? EXPLAINED FOR BEGINNERS 2022
Hey guys, welcome back to my YouTube channel! Today, we'll be discussing the different shipping options on Shopify and what they mean for your small business. Shipping can be confusing, but don't worry, I'm here to help. I'll be giving you tips on how to set up your shipping rates and what works best for your customers.
Types of Shipping Methods:
1. Free Shipping - This option is self-explanatory. Customers don't have to pay for shipping, but the item price may be higher to compensate for it.
2. Calculated Shipping Rate - Shopify automatically calculates the shipping rate based on the weight of the item, the destination, and the shipping carrier.
3. Variety of Shipping Options - Offer your customers different shipping options like USPS, UPS, and priority mail.
Shipping Rates:
1. Handling Fee - Charge your customers for packaging your items. It's always a good idea to add a handling fee to make sure you're covered for shipping costs.
2. Spend Over a Certain Amount for Free Shipping - Increase your overall cart value by offering free shipping for customers who spend over a certain amount.
Tips for Starting Out:
1. Stick to United States Shipping - It's easier and less of a hassle than international shipping.
2. Use a PO Box or Suite for Your Return Shipping Address - Don't give out your home address for safety reasons.
There are many shipping options available on Shopify, so it's important to figure out what works best for your small business and customers. Remember to add a handling fee and consider offering free shipping for customers who spend over a certain amount. Stick to United States shipping and use a PO box or suite for your return shipping address. Good luck on your small business journey, and let me know if you have any questions!

Local Delivery and Local Pickup:
There are also a couple of other delivery methods now that Shopify has added in. You can see here that there is also a local delivery and a local pickup. We won't be going over those in this video, but you can add delivery options or pick up options if you want to.
General Shipping Rates:
In the shipping area, we have a general shipping rate which all products are going into automatically. You can also go in and create a new profile.
