00:00:24 00:00:29 obviously later on there they realize
00:00:27 00:00:30 that it's worth money to spend money on
00:00:29 00:00:32 advertising but at the beginning stages
00:00:30 00:00:34 at least for most people I think they
00:00:32 00:00:37 want to do as much of the free work as
00:00:34 00:00:38 they can and I think that's fine so I
00:00:37 00:00:41 want to answer all those different
00:00:38 00:00:43 questions these are the top 15 ways that
00:00:41 00:00:45 I've personally found to be best if
00:00:43 00:00:48 you're doing marketing and you don't
00:00:45 00:00:50 want to spend a penny so number one SEO
00:00:48 00:00:52 and we've already done two episodes on
00:00:50 00:00:54 SEO so I'm not gonna belabor the point
00:00:52 00:00:55 here if you want more information on

00:01:00 00:01:05 up in Google for different keywords
00:01:02 00:01:08 number two content marketing so funny
00:01:05 00:01:10 enough this kind of goes in with SEO and
00:01:08 00:01:12 we're gonna tok about this in depth I
00:01:10 00:01:15 think in the next episode or pretty soon
00:01:12 00:01:18 in a future episode here the content
00:01:15 00:01:19 marketing is very important for a number
00:01:18 00:01:21 of different things but it relates to a
00:01:19 00:01:24 search engine optimization or SEO
00:01:21 00:01:26 because of the fact if you can create
00:01:24 00:01:29 really cool content pieces people will
00:01:26 00:01:33 find you through Google so an example of
00:01:29 00:01:36 this might be seven kedo friendly snacks
00:01:33 00:01:38 so you want to rank in Google for keto
00:01:36 00:01:42 snacks and you'd write an artikle on top
00:01:38 00:01:44 seven keto friendly snacks and then it
00:01:42 00:01:46 gets picked up by Google or it gets
00:01:44 00:01:48 picked up gets a lot of links to it and
00:01:46 00:01:51 it ranks is number one artikle for keto
00:01:48 00:01:53 friendly snacks so this drives traffic
00:01:51 00:01:54 to your website and people read the list
00:01:53 00:01:55 and they say oh number four is
00:01:54 00:01:58 performance nut butter which is
00:01:55 00:02:00 obviously that's my company and then
00:01:58 00:02:02 they decide to buy it so it's probably
00:02:00 00:02:03 not the most effective way to drive
00:02:02 00:02:06 content and there's a ton of different
00:02:03 00:02:09 traffic excuse me there's there's a ton
00:02:06 00:02:10 of different content plays that you can
00:02:09 00:02:12 do spotlight marketing which I toked
00:02:10 00:02:13 about briefly I think in the last
00:02:12 00:02:16 episode I'm gonna tok about
00:02:13 00:02:19 in depth in a future episode which is
00:02:16 00:02:21 basically interviewing your potential
00:02:19 00:02:22 customers a lot of different ways to do
00:02:21 00:02:25 this but the whole point of content
00:02:22 00:02:27 marketing is to make content pieces and
00:02:25 00:02:31 get people to come to your website to
00:02:27 00:02:34 read or whatever yeah to consume the
00:02:31 00:02:36 content and then they happen to somehow
00:02:34 00:02:38 relate to your business and they'll end
00:02:36 00:02:39 up wanting to buy your product so we're
00:02:38 00:02:42 gonna go in-depth and I believe in the
00:02:39 00:02:45 next episode on content marketing number
00:02:42 00:02:47 three YouTube and for half the people
00:02:45 00:02:49 listening to this podcast you're
00:02:47 00:02:50 probably watching it on YouTube so a lot
00:02:49 00:02:52 of people are watching this on my
00:02:50 00:02:55 youtube channel effective e-commerce and
00:02:52 00:02:57 I get way more views way more traffic to
00:02:55 00:02:59 my youtube channel then I do to my
00:02:57 00:03:01 website hands-down and the reason is
00:02:59 00:03:04 there's a lot of reasons actually but
00:03:01 00:03:05 people prefer to consume videos a lot of
00:03:04 00:03:07 people refer to consume videos not
00:03:05 00:03:10 everybody some people prefer to read but
00:03:07 00:03:12 videos are easier quicker for 99% of
00:03:10 00:03:13 people and they're entertaining they're
00:03:12 00:03:15 a little bit more entertaining so you
00:03:13 00:03:18 can use this your advantage similar to
00:03:15 00:03:21 content marketing you can create videos
00:03:18 00:03:22 about different content pieces and put
00:03:21 00:03:25 those on YouTube put those on your
00:03:22 00:03:28 website and create a following so you
00:03:25 00:03:31 could do the same 7 top Kito friendly
00:03:28 00:03:32 snacks as a YouTube video instead now
00:03:31 00:03:34 I'm giving away all my secrets I haven't
00:03:32 00:03:36 even done this yet but you could do
00:03:34 00:03:38 something like that or for instance for
00:03:36 00:03:41 be dance or my dance clothing company we
00:03:38 00:03:43 use DIY dance costume videos so we'll do
00:03:41 00:03:45 a video on how to rhinestone a dance
00:03:43 00:03:47 costume and we'll say you know if you
00:03:45 00:03:49 need some dance pieces we sell the
00:03:47 00:03:51 basics at BJ's for calm so we'll show a
00:03:49 00:03:53 whole video on how to rhinestone a dance
00:03:51 00:03:57 costume which is only loosely correlates
00:03:53 00:03:59 to what what we sell but yet we will let
00:03:57 00:04:02 people know about our business make them
00:03:59 00:04:04 aware and we'll also do a email opt-in
00:04:02 00:04:06 an email capture so for effective
00:04:04 00:04:07 ecommerce for instance the reason I'm
00:04:06 00:04:09 giving away all my secrets once again
00:04:07 00:04:12 the reason I have the e-commerce success
00:04:09 00:04:15 pact is twofold one I want to give
00:04:12 00:04:17 people really good quality stuff and I
00:04:15 00:04:18 do I have some great stuff in the
00:04:17 00:04:19 e-commerce success pack I have the

00:04:19 00:04:24 I have marketing ideas so if these free
00:04:22 00:04:27 is 15 free marketing ideas aren't enough

00:04:29 00:04:32 that's only half the reason why I do it
00:04:31 00:04:35 the other half is so I can get those
00:04:32 00:04:37 emails and I can send out emails now for
00:04:35 00:04:39 the most part I'm personally sending out
00:04:37 00:04:41 emails about other videos and I'm trying
00:04:39 00:04:43 to make my videos more popular it's kind
00:04:41 00:04:45 of this whole cycle and I recommend
00:04:43 00:04:47 doing this with YouTube trying to get
00:04:45 00:04:49 email subscribers from YouTube and then
00:04:47 00:04:52 using those emails not using them but
00:04:49 00:04:53 sending to those emails more YouTube
00:04:52 00:04:55 videos that will help those YouTube
00:04:53 00:04:57 videos rank higher and it's this kind of
00:04:55 00:04:59 virtuous cycle here so YouTube's
00:04:57 00:05:02 extremely powerful the last thing I'll
00:04:59 00:05:04 say about it is I believe YouTube is the
00:05:02 00:05:06 second most used search engine and at
00:05:04 00:05:09 least in the United States so it goes
00:05:06 00:05:11 Google and then YouTube but yet YouTube
00:05:09 00:05:13 has way less material than Google does
00:05:11 00:05:16 you Google has trillions of pages where
00:05:13 00:05:17 YouTube only has billions of videos so
00:05:16 00:05:20 your chance of standing out on YouTube
00:05:17 00:05:22 is much better and in fact it's a lot
00:05:20 00:05:25 harder to make a good quality video so
00:05:22 00:05:26 YouTube well it's a lot harder but it's
00:05:25 00:05:28 also easy at the same time YouTube
00:05:26 00:05:30 anyways that's a free marketing idea
00:05:28 00:05:32 number four tok to everybody never
00:05:30 00:05:34 waste an opportunity go you can go to
00:05:32 00:05:36 conventions which usually cost money
00:05:34 00:05:37 or you can go where your consumers hang
00:05:36 00:05:39 out and just tok to them and let them
00:05:37 00:05:41 know about your company I'm not gonna
00:05:39 00:05:44 tok too much about this one I know
00:05:41 00:05:46 that's a little ironic but basically
00:05:44 00:05:48 I'll wear a shirt a lot of times the
00:05:46 00:05:49 performance nut butter shirt and I'll go
00:05:48 00:05:51 where my consumers would be and I would
00:05:49 00:05:52 just tok about my product so that's an
00:05:51 00:05:55 easy way to spread the word about your
00:05:52 00:05:59 company number five make phone calls
00:05:55 00:06:00 call your potential customers so four be
00:05:59 00:06:02 dancewear we'll call dance studios and
00:06:00 00:06:04 for performance nut butter I plan on
00:06:02 00:06:07 calling gyms and letting them know about
00:06:04 00:06:09 our product now when you're doing this
00:06:07 00:06:11 you probably shouldn't just do like a
00:06:09 00:06:13 cold pitch because people are just gonna
00:06:11 00:06:14 hang up on you ignore you you should try
00:06:13 00:06:16 to come up with some kind of unique
00:06:14 00:06:18 thing of why you're calling them I use
00:06:16 00:06:21 spotlight marketing which is where I
00:06:18 00:06:23 interview them and post it on my blog
00:06:21 00:06:26 you can do whatever you want but the
00:06:23 00:06:28 whole idea is a free way to start
00:06:26 00:06:30 getting traffic to your website and
00:06:28 00:06:31 really good traffic at that is to make
00:06:30 00:06:34 phone calls
00:06:31 00:06:36 number six influencer marketing now this
00:06:34 00:06:37 isn't necessarily free you'll probably
00:06:36 00:06:40 have to give away some products but go
00:06:37 00:06:40 on Instagram find influencers in your
00:06:40 00:06:42 niche in son
00:06:40 00:06:44 some projects so it's not a hundred
00:06:42 00:06:46 percent free but it only costs you your
00:06:44 00:06:48 products really easy we'll do an episode
00:06:46 00:06:51 on this one for sure so I won't tok too
00:06:48 00:06:54 much about that number seven guest
00:06:51 00:06:56 blogging and this is where you go to
00:06:54 00:06:58 someone that has a blog and you write a
00:06:56 00:07:01 guest post on it I will tok in depth
00:06:58 00:07:03 about this in the next episode but the
00:07:01 00:07:06 quick answer is people already have
00:07:03 00:07:09 these huge audiences out there so I also
00:07:06 00:07:10 say guest podcasting guess youtubing
00:07:09 00:07:13 like all these different things be a
00:07:10 00:07:16 guest on other people's platform number
00:07:13 00:07:19 eight start a podcast it's it's not
00:07:16 00:07:21 necessarily free but it can be free
00:07:19 00:07:24 there's ways to do it for free I think I
00:07:21 00:07:26 spend 50 cent 5 to 15 dollars a month on
00:07:24 00:07:29 my hosting which is so cheap that it's
00:07:26 00:07:31 basically free I mean realistikally all
00:07:29 00:07:33 you have to do is work for one hour and
00:07:31 00:07:35 a minimum wage job and you've basically
00:07:33 00:07:38 got your hosting paid for so it is so
00:07:35 00:07:39 cost effective I included it as free but
00:07:38 00:07:41 it's a great way I mean you're listening
00:07:39 00:07:42 to a podcast right now unless you're
00:07:41 00:07:44 what unless you're watching this on
00:07:42 00:07:46 YouTube you're listening to this is a
00:07:44 00:07:49 podcast right now and if I was toking
00:07:46 00:07:51 about a topic that I could sell a
00:07:49 00:07:53 product eventually the idea is with the
00:07:51 00:07:55 podcast you gain people's trust and you
00:07:53 00:07:58 let them know that you only give out
00:07:55 00:08:00 quality information and then you tell
00:07:58 00:08:01 them about your product so for

00:08:53 00:08:55 being said only one
00:08:54 00:08:57 out of a hundred people that listen to
00:08:55 00:09:00 this are gonna ever buy a course for me
00:08:57 00:09:02 that's okay my goal is to help as many
00:09:00 00:09:04 people as possible so I'm getting off on
00:09:02 00:09:06 a tangent here the goal the point of
00:09:04 00:09:08 this is a podcast is a great way to
00:09:06 00:09:11 spread your message and tok about your
00:09:08 00:09:14 company anytime you can get people's
00:09:11 00:09:15 attention it's a marketing tool anytime

00:09:15 00:09:18 niche all you have to do is tell them
00:09:17 00:09:21 about your product and if your product
00:09:18 00:09:24 is great and really good they will the
00:09:21 00:09:28 flock to it alright so number nine send
00:09:24 00:09:30 personal emails to everyone I mean you
00:09:28 00:09:32 can to send it to anyone and everyone
00:09:30 00:09:34 don't be spammy about it but what you
00:09:32 00:09:38 can especially do is send it to people
00:09:34 00:09:41 who sign up for so two things people
00:09:38 00:09:42 that sign up for your email if you sign
00:09:41 00:09:44 up for the e-commerce success pack for

00:10:58 00:11:02 pitch me on this and that or trying to
00:11:00 00:11:04 get me to buy their product and I don't
00:11:02 00:11:06 care if it's a personal email I'm gonna
00:11:04 00:11:08 delete it alright so we're going quick
00:11:06 00:11:10 here I know but I
00:11:08 00:11:13 get out all this information number 10
00:11:10 00:11:15 social media pretty much all social
00:11:13 00:11:17 media is free Facebook Pinterest Twitter
00:11:15 00:11:20 now I don't think Facebook is the best
00:11:17 00:11:21 Avenue for most people to go if you're
00:11:20 00:11:23 advertising for a business I think
00:11:21 00:11:25 Pinterest is much better and so there's
00:11:23 00:11:26 some different examples that I can use
00:11:25 00:11:29 let's use performance nut butter as one
00:11:26 00:11:30 example I might do recipes I might say
00:11:29 00:11:32 here's some different recipes using
00:11:30 00:11:34 performance nut butter here's some paleo
00:11:32 00:11:38 muffins here's some keto friendly cake
00:11:34 00:11:41 and then I would do also with that some
00:11:38 00:11:44 of the things I do I do I might do a pin
00:11:41 00:11:46 of top keto friendly products or
00:11:44 00:11:49 whatever all these different things I
00:11:46 00:11:51 could also just do really cool pictures
00:11:49 00:11:53 using performance nut butter then for B
00:11:51 00:11:55 dance where what I've done is a few
00:11:53 00:11:59 different things but one of them is DIY
00:11:55 00:12:01 pins a long pin showing how to DIY a
00:11:59 00:12:03 dance costume very similar to what I do
00:12:01 00:12:05 with youtube but in Pinterest pin form
00:12:03 00:12:07 now there's some quick tips on Pinterest
00:12:05 00:12:08 and we're gonna do a full episode on
00:12:07 00:12:12 this so I don't want to tok too much
00:12:08 00:12:15 about it right now but long-long pins I
00:12:12 00:12:17 think a hamburger and like lengths are
00:12:15 00:12:20 better than wide pins or hot dog style
00:12:17 00:12:21 and just look at the way that's just the
00:12:20 00:12:25 native way that pins are made on
00:12:21 00:12:27 Pinterest and tend to do better so look
00:12:25 00:12:29 at that and then let's see what else
00:12:27 00:12:32 Facebook probably not the best Facebook
00:12:29 00:12:34 doesn't work as well for spreading your
00:12:32 00:12:35 marketing message Twitter can work if
00:12:34 00:12:37 you have a big audience but I think
00:12:35 00:12:38 Twitter is dying personally so I
00:12:37 00:12:42 wouldn't spend too much time on that
00:12:38 00:12:45 number eleven contest I will probably
00:12:42 00:12:48 eventually do a whole episode on how to
00:12:45 00:12:50 run a contest but this is a great way to
00:12:48 00:12:52 spread the message so you might do
00:12:50 00:12:55 something via Twitter via Instagram via
00:12:52 00:12:56 Facebook saying doing a post about your
00:12:55 00:12:58 products and saying share this product
00:12:56 00:13:02 or share this post for a chance to win
00:12:58 00:13:03 free product then people share it and it
00:13:02 00:13:06 gets shared with their friends and it
00:13:03 00:13:08 turns into a whole viral thing so that
00:13:06 00:13:09 is a great way of doing it you can also
00:13:08 00:13:12 do contests for people into their email
00:13:09 00:13:13 and then you email market to them number
00:13:12 00:13:15 12
00:13:13 00:13:16 guerrilla marketing so guerrilla
00:13:15 00:13:19 marketing is really any idea that's
00:13:16 00:13:22 outside of the box an example of this
00:13:19 00:13:24 might be going to a trade show
00:13:22 00:13:26 or a convention with a funny hat so I
00:13:24 00:13:27 might was performance enough but I might
00:13:26 00:13:30 go with a hat with a bunch of nuts like
00:13:27 00:13:31 glued to it and just walk around and
00:13:30 00:13:33 people are gonna be like what the hell
00:13:31 00:13:35 is that guy doing and I can say oh and
00:13:33 00:13:38 people will say oh he's toking about
00:13:35 00:13:40 his company performance nut butter you
00:13:38 00:13:42 could go down to a busy intersection and
00:13:40 00:13:44 give out samples of performance nut
00:13:42 00:13:48 butter for be dance where we could go to
00:13:44 00:13:49 a dance competition and interrupt the
00:13:48 00:13:51 show I wouldn't do this cuz it's just
00:13:49 00:13:53 rude but interrupt the show and hold a
00:13:51 00:13:55 big sign that says be dance we're dance
00:13:53 00:13:56 wearing 200 plus colors you get the idea
00:13:55 00:13:59 I'm gonna let you come up with your own
00:13:56 00:14:01 I do have in the e-commerce success pack
00:13:59 00:14:02 some examples of some other guerilla
00:14:01 00:14:05 marketing things you can check that out

00:14:13 00:14:18 google I think it's horri dot org just
00:14:15 00:14:20 Google Haro and you can join that and
00:14:18 00:14:22 basically what happens is you get emails
00:14:20 00:14:25 from reporters that say hey I want to
00:14:22 00:14:26 tok about X Y & Z topic and they're
00:14:25 00:14:28 looking for experts in that so they
00:14:26 00:14:31 might say what we're looking for small
00:14:28 00:14:32 businesses to tok about their struggles
00:14:31 00:14:34 with marketing and you tok about it and
00:14:32 00:14:35 they might put a link to your website or
00:14:34 00:14:37 they might just tok about your company
00:14:35 00:14:39 they might say you know we're looking
00:14:37 00:14:41 for a company that does ketogenic
00:14:39 00:14:42 friendly snacks and obviously that'd be
00:14:41 00:14:44 perfect for me and performance nut
00:14:42 00:14:46 butter and I'd say you can write up you
00:14:44 00:14:49 can write a whole artikle about
00:14:46 00:14:51 performance nut butter you can also do
00:14:49 00:14:55 the outreach yourself you can contact
00:14:51 00:14:56 newspapers magazines etc and just try to
00:14:55 00:14:59 pitch them on why they should tok about
00:14:56 00:15:02 your company number 14 spotlight
00:14:59 00:15:04 marketing so I already kind of briefly
00:15:02 00:15:06 mentioned this basically spotlight
00:15:04 00:15:09 marketing is interviewing people
00:15:06 00:15:11 interviewing people that might be your
00:15:09 00:15:13 potential customers and spotlighting
00:15:11 00:15:14 them on your blog on your YouTube
00:15:13 00:15:17 channel on your podcast
00:15:14 00:15:21 basically toking about how great people

00:15:49 00:15:53 stuff and it led to thousands and
00:15:51 00:15:55 thousands of dollars of sales for me so
00:15:53 00:15:57 that was huge hugely helpful so
00:15:55 00:15:59 spotlight marketing is a great way to
00:15:57 00:16:02 connect with influencers and potential
00:15:59 00:16:05 customers number 15 get repeat customers
00:16:02 00:16:06 the best free marketing method you have
00:16:05 00:16:08 is to get someone that's already a
00:16:06 00:16:10 customer to come back and buy again give
00:16:08 00:16:12 them a call on the phone if you need to
00:16:10 00:16:14 send them an email do whatever you need
00:16:12 00:16:16 to give them coupons whatever do
00:16:14 00:16:18 whatever you need to to get those repeat
00:16:16 00:16:22 customers because those are hugely
