00:00:22 00:00:26 there's lots of stuff in there and the
00:00:24 00:00:26 problem with that is it can be difficult
00:00:26 00:00:28 to see
00:00:26 00:00:30 all of the information that you need in
00:00:28 00:00:31 one easy view
00:00:30 00:00:33 so that you can make decisions to
00:00:31 00:00:35 optimize your campaigns the good news is
00:00:33 00:00:37 that there's a tool in the google ads
00:00:35 00:00:39 interface the reporting tool
00:00:37 00:00:40 that'll allow you to customize reports
00:00:39 00:00:42 to see pretty much whatever you need to
00:00:40 00:00:45 whether it's in a table
00:00:42 00:00:47 or a chart format so today i'm going to
00:00:45 00:00:48 go through the google ads reporting tool
00:00:47 00:00:50 show you how it works and give you some
00:00:48 00:00:51 examples of reports that you can start
00:00:50 00:00:53 building today
00:00:51 00:00:55 when you're in the google ads campaign
00:00:53 00:00:57 manager interface and if you're in
00:00:55 00:00:58 the campaigns tab ad groups tab wherever
00:00:57 00:01:00 you are over
00:00:58 00:01:02 in the left-hand navigation there are
00:01:00 00:01:03 going to be ways that you can customize
00:01:02 00:01:05 the data you want to see
00:01:03 00:01:07 either by adding different columns or
00:01:05 00:01:08 choosing your segment but this is one
00:01:07 00:01:10 example of
00:01:08 00:01:11 a problem that we have with pulling
00:01:10 00:01:13 reports within
00:01:11 00:01:15 this builder as opposed to the reporting
00:01:13 00:01:15 tool if i click on segment let's say i
00:01:15 00:01:18 wanted to
00:01:15 00:01:19 segment this data that i have here this
00:01:18 00:01:21 view by
00:01:19 00:01:23 week or by day if i come down to time
00:01:21 00:01:24 you'll notike that day and week are both
00:01:23 00:01:26 grayed out
00:01:24 00:01:27 because the segment needs to have a
00:01:26 00:01:28 shorter
00:01:27 00:01:30 date range for you to be able to see it
00:01:28 00:01:31 there's too much data because i'm
00:01:30 00:01:33 looking at january 1st
00:01:31 00:01:35 through april 23rd and there would
00:01:33 00:01:37 simply be too many rows so this is
00:01:35 00:01:39 one quick example of why you would need
00:01:37 00:01:41 to use the reports builder rather than
00:01:39 00:01:43 just pulling the data in the interface
00:01:41 00:01:43 so now that we've got that quick example
00:01:43 00:01:45 out of the way
00:01:43 00:01:47 there are a couple of ways that you can
00:01:45 00:01:49 access the reports builder in google ads
00:01:47 00:01:50 but i'm going to show you one now and
00:01:49 00:01:52 i'll show you the other
00:01:50 00:01:53 at the end of the video even though you
00:01:52 00:01:55 probably already know where it is the
00:01:53 00:01:56 first one is going to be up here in this
00:01:55 00:01:57 main navigation
00:01:56 00:01:59 you can just come up here and click the
00:01:57 00:02:01 reports icon you'll notike that there
00:01:59 00:02:02 are some predefined reports and for
00:02:01 00:02:04 those of you who have been around
00:02:02 00:02:06 in the industry for quite a while like
00:02:04 00:02:08 myself this used to be the dimensions
00:02:06 00:02:10 tab that's why there's dimensions in
00:02:08 00:02:12 parentheses for us old folks there are
00:02:10 00:02:12 lots of preset reports that you can find
00:02:12 00:02:14 here
00:02:12 00:02:15 but if you want to go to the full
00:02:14 00:02:17 customized report builder
00:02:15 00:02:19 you simply come down to reports and
00:02:17 00:02:22 click on that now we're on the
00:02:19 00:02:24 reports manager portion of the interface
00:02:22 00:02:25 this is where you will have all of your
00:02:24 00:02:26 saved reports
00:02:25 00:02:28 there are some predefined reports
00:02:26 00:02:29 available here as well but what i'm
00:02:28 00:02:31 going to do
00:02:29 00:02:33 is start off with a custom report
00:02:31 00:02:35 because i want to show you the builder
00:02:33 00:02:36 first and then we'll go through some of
00:02:35 00:02:38 the predefined reports and how you can
00:02:36 00:02:39 use some of those to your liking
00:02:38 00:02:41 so to get started i'm just going to come
00:02:39 00:02:42 over here and click custom and we'll see
00:02:41 00:02:44 the first
00:02:42 00:02:45 way that we can start to customize our
00:02:44 00:02:47 report is by choosing
00:02:45 00:02:49 the type of report that we want to see
00:02:47 00:02:50 table is going to be
00:02:49 00:02:52 probably the most common that you're the
00:02:50 00:02:53 most familiar with it's effectively like
00:02:52 00:02:55 seeing an excel report
00:02:53 00:02:57 or the data that we just saw in the
00:02:55 00:02:59 interface we can also create
00:02:57 00:03:01 more visual charts in this report
00:02:59 00:03:04 builder whether it's a line chart
00:03:01 00:03:06 column bar scatter or pie chart and i'll
00:03:04 00:03:08 go through a couple examples of those
00:03:06 00:03:10 but as you can tell there's already a
00:03:08 00:03:10 lot of ways we can customize the data
00:03:10 00:03:13 that we're going to see
00:03:10 00:03:14 we can make it visual not just have a
00:03:13 00:03:16 big table worth of data but for right
00:03:14 00:03:18 now let's go ahead and start off with a
00:03:16 00:03:20 big table full of data
00:03:18 00:03:22 this is what the reports builder looks
00:03:20 00:03:23 like within google ads
00:03:22 00:03:25 so there are a few different ways that
00:03:23 00:03:26 we can customize our report and i'll try
00:03:25 00:03:26 and hit each one of them as we go
00:03:26 00:03:28 through
00:03:26 00:03:30 the first thing you can do is name the
00:03:28 00:03:31 report just by clicking the pencil here
00:03:30 00:03:33 you can rename it to whatever you want
00:03:31 00:03:35 but then the way that you read
00:03:33 00:03:37 this section of the interface is that
00:03:35 00:03:39 effectively this section over here is
00:03:37 00:03:40 going to be the report itself so you can
00:03:39 00:03:42 see in real time
00:03:40 00:03:43 what your results are going to be
00:03:42 00:03:45 whether you want to get the data
00:03:43 00:03:47 in the interface and start to make
00:03:45 00:03:49 decisions or if you want to customize it
00:03:47 00:03:51 so that you can either download it
00:03:49 00:03:52 schedule it what have you you can
00:03:51 00:03:54 customize the date range for whatever
00:03:52 00:03:55 you want it to be just like you can in
00:03:54 00:03:56 any other portion of the google ads
00:03:55 00:03:58 interface
00:03:56 00:03:59 then the second section over here is
00:03:58 00:04:00 going to be the tools that we have to
00:03:59 00:04:02 actually build it
00:04:00 00:04:04 so for a table you're going to end up
00:04:02 00:04:05 needing different rows
00:04:04 00:04:07 as well as different columns so think of
00:04:05 00:04:09 this as the
00:04:07 00:04:10 different segments or levels of the
00:04:09 00:04:13 account that you want to see
00:04:10 00:04:15 whether it's campaign keyword audience
00:04:13 00:04:16 device a length of time
00:04:15 00:04:18 whatever that is you can have those as
00:04:16 00:04:19 the rows and then the columns are
00:04:18 00:04:21 probably going to be mostly the
00:04:19 00:04:22 performance metrics that you want to
00:04:21 00:04:23 have so you can see the different
00:04:22 00:04:26 performance metrics
00:04:23 00:04:27 by the rows that are in here all of the
00:04:26 00:04:29 different options for the information
00:04:27 00:04:30 that you can put in the report are going
00:04:29 00:04:32 to be over here in this little light
00:04:30 00:04:33 gray box so as you can tell there's a
00:04:32 00:04:35 lot of
00:04:33 00:04:36 options already and these are just the
00:04:35 00:04:38 high level segments
00:04:36 00:04:40 you'll notike that each one of them has
00:04:38 00:04:42 a little down arrow next to it so if i
00:04:40 00:04:44 come up here and go to level of detail
00:04:42 00:04:46 i can click on that and it opens up all
00:04:44 00:04:48 of the different levels of detail that
00:04:46 00:04:49 you can add into this report so you can
00:04:48 00:04:50 see campaign
00:04:49 00:04:52 ad group add it's going to then
00:04:50 00:04:54 highlight the row section because this
00:04:52 00:04:56 is where this would go
00:04:54 00:04:57 you would not add campaign as a column
00:04:56 00:04:57 so if we just click on campaign really
00:04:57 00:05:00 quick
00:04:57 00:05:01 it automatikally applies it to the rows
00:05:00 00:05:02 and then you can start to see that there
00:05:01 00:05:04 are some
00:05:02 00:05:06 different changes that come down in here
00:05:04 00:05:07 like this one is now gray
00:05:06 00:05:10 because this field is incompatible with
00:05:07 00:05:13 campaign you can't have the campaign
00:05:10 00:05:13 label and the campaign name in the same
00:05:13 00:05:15 report
00:05:13 00:05:17 there are going to be many different
00:05:15 00:05:19 instances where certain metrics
00:05:17 00:05:21 or levels of detail all the different
00:05:19 00:05:22 breakdowns are incompatible and google
00:05:21 00:05:24 will gray those
00:05:22 00:05:25 out to tell you that it's incompatible
00:05:24 00:05:27 you can also come up here to the
00:05:25 00:05:28 customization section these three little
00:05:27 00:05:30 dots
00:05:28 00:05:32 you can hide anything that is
00:05:30 00:05:33 incompatible if that makes it easier for
00:05:32 00:05:35 you i personally don't like to do that
00:05:33 00:05:37 because i want to know what i can still
00:05:35 00:05:39 use and i want to know which
00:05:37 00:05:41 fields it's incompatible with because as
00:05:39 00:05:42 you can see here it tells you that it's
00:05:41 00:05:45 incompatible with campaign
00:05:42 00:05:47 which for my example right now i only
00:05:45 00:05:48 have campaign chosen but imagine that
00:05:47 00:05:50 you already have
00:05:48 00:05:52 20 different options here you want to
00:05:50 00:05:54 know which one it's incompatible
00:05:52 00:05:56 with so you can rethink re-strategize
00:05:54 00:05:56 your report and still get the data that
00:05:56 00:05:58 you need
00:05:56 00:06:00 for the sake of example today i'm just
00:05:58 00:06:02 going to make a very
00:06:00 00:06:03 basic campaign level report because it's
00:06:02 00:06:05 going to take
00:06:03 00:06:06 far too long for me to go through each
00:06:05 00:06:08 of the different fields that you have
00:06:06 00:06:09 available but there are some high level
00:06:08 00:06:11 looks that i'll show you
00:06:09 00:06:12 so you can utilize any of the different
00:06:11 00:06:15 performance metrics in here
00:06:12 00:06:16 clicks impressions click-through rate if
00:06:15 00:06:17 you scroll down you can see that i'm
00:06:16 00:06:20 still
00:06:17 00:06:20 in that regular performance section and
00:06:20 00:06:22 we've got
00:06:20 00:06:23 all these different metrics that are
00:06:22 00:06:25 available and then we start getting into
00:06:23 00:06:27 the other fields that are down here
00:06:25 00:06:28 so there are lots of different options
00:06:27 00:06:30 that you can add to the
00:06:28 00:06:32 reports that you're building and you can
00:06:30 00:06:34 either go through and scroll through
00:06:32 00:06:36 these individually open
00:06:34 00:06:38 them up and see what's available or if
00:06:36 00:06:39 you know what you want to add in
00:06:38 00:06:41 like for this example i'm going to add
00:06:39 00:06:42 in clicks and impressions you can come
00:06:41 00:06:44 up to the search field and just type
00:06:42 00:06:46 them in i just typed in click
00:06:44 00:06:48 you can see all of the different options
00:06:46 00:06:48 of metrics that you can add that have
00:06:48 00:06:50 click
00:06:48 00:06:52 in it all of these are also eligible
00:06:50 00:06:54 because they're not grayed out so i'm
00:06:52 00:06:55 just going to click on clicks
00:06:54 00:06:57 and add it to the report now like i said
00:06:55 00:06:58 i'm going to do a very basic example of
00:06:57 00:07:00 a report for this so i'm going to go
00:06:58 00:07:02 ahead and get that set up and then we'll
00:07:00 00:07:03 tok through how we can customize that
00:07:02 00:07:05 report moving forward
00:07:03 00:07:07 i have a pretty basic report here that
00:07:05 00:07:09 is effectively just looking at
00:07:07 00:07:10 campaign performance for clicks and
00:07:09 00:07:12 impressions
00:07:10 00:07:13 by month so all of my data is going to
00:07:12 00:07:16 be broken out by monthly
00:07:13 00:07:17 breakdowns and the campaign level just
00:07:16 00:07:18 to show me the clicks and impressions
00:07:17 00:07:20 that i had
00:07:18 00:07:21 over the first quarter effectively of
00:07:20 00:07:22 this year
00:07:21 00:07:24 although i have the campaign names
00:07:22 00:07:26 blurred out you can tell that a lot of
00:07:24 00:07:28 these campaigns don't actually have any
00:07:26 00:07:29 performance for this time frame so i'm
00:07:28 00:07:31 going to start to filter
00:07:29 00:07:33 the reports that i have a little bit and
00:07:31 00:07:34 customize them so let's say i want to
00:07:33 00:07:36 come in here and i want to just get rid
00:07:34 00:07:38 of any campaign that doesn't have any
00:07:36 00:07:39 clicks associated with it i can click on
00:07:38 00:07:40 the drop down here
00:07:39 00:07:42 i can click filter and now you can say
00:07:40 00:07:45 that clicks need to have a value
00:07:42 00:07:46 of greater than zero you can customize
00:07:45 00:07:48 whatever you want this drop down to be
00:07:46 00:07:50 so if you need it to be
00:07:48 00:07:51 greater than or equal to does not equal
00:07:50 00:07:53 whatever you want to have
00:07:51 00:07:55 i just need it to be greater than zero
00:07:53 00:07:57 click apply and now my report is
00:07:55 00:07:59 filtered only for campaigns that had
00:07:57 00:08:01 clicks within each given month
00:07:59 00:08:02 of the report that's on here as you can
00:08:01 00:08:03 tell there were other filters that we
00:08:02 00:08:05 could apply
00:08:03 00:08:07 so basically we can come down and we can
00:08:05 00:08:09 sort by either high to low
00:08:07 00:08:10 or low to high or you can add some
00:08:09 00:08:13 conditional formatting to this
00:08:10 00:08:14 to say if the clicks value is higher
00:08:13 00:08:16 than
00:08:14 00:08:18 let's say 1000 you can then customize
00:08:16 00:08:19 the color that you want to be
00:08:18 00:08:21 i'm going to go with red just so it's a
00:08:19 00:08:24 little bit easier to see we click apply
00:08:21 00:08:24 and now you can easily visually see
00:08:24 00:08:26 which
00:08:24 00:08:28 campaigns in which month had over a
00:08:26 00:08:30 thousand clicks so there's a lot of ways
00:08:28 00:08:31 that you can customize the view of what
00:08:30 00:08:33 you want to see
00:08:31 00:08:34 in this reports builder i'm going to
00:08:33 00:08:35 clean off all the filters that i have
00:08:34 00:08:36 for
00:08:35 00:08:38 clicks for right now just to get those
00:08:36 00:08:39 out of here you can also filter for the
00:08:38 00:08:41 campaign
00:08:39 00:08:43 name or any of the different options
00:08:41 00:08:43 that you have here so you can filter to
00:08:43 00:08:45 either
00:08:43 00:08:47 choose selected campaigns or you can
00:08:45 00:08:48 exclude certain campaigns if you want to
00:08:47 00:08:50 just the way you would
00:08:48 00:08:52 in the interface if you decide that you
00:08:50 00:08:54 need to reorganize some of the data that
00:08:52 00:08:55 you have in the report
00:08:54 00:08:57 this is pretty simple you can come over
00:08:55 00:08:59 here and if you wanted to have the
00:08:57 00:09:01 month in the first position or you
00:08:59 00:09:02 thought that impressions needed to be in
00:09:01 00:09:04 the furthest left column all you have to
00:09:02 00:09:06 do is come over and click
00:09:04 00:09:08 the six dots here drag and then you can
00:09:06 00:09:10 reorder which
00:09:08 00:09:12 options you have in place so let's say
00:09:10 00:09:13 we also wanted to move impressions up we
00:09:12 00:09:14 can easily do that and now they've
00:09:13 00:09:16 realigned
00:09:14 00:09:18 to move the different data so that it
00:09:16 00:09:18 works for whatever type of report you're
00:09:18 00:09:20 trying to pull
00:09:18 00:09:22 overall this reports builder is pretty
00:09:20 00:09:23 easy to use and you can see
00:09:22 00:09:25 here that it's just going to build your
00:09:23 00:09:27 data tables off to the left
00:09:25 00:09:28 exactly how you want it to so let's say
00:09:27 00:09:30 you want to get rid of one of the
00:09:28 00:09:31 metrics and we just want to get rid of
00:09:30 00:09:32 campaign for example you can come in
00:09:31 00:09:34 here and click this drop down
00:09:32 00:09:36 and then you can easily delete the
00:09:34 00:09:37 campaign filter and now it's going to
00:09:36 00:09:40 show you your report that is
00:09:37 00:09:41 now just based on clicks and impressions
00:09:40 00:09:42 by
00:09:41 00:09:43 month pretty easy to get rid of any
00:09:42 00:09:44 fields that you don't want to have in
00:09:43 00:09:46 there as well
00:09:44 00:09:48 so you'll remember there are lots of
00:09:46 00:09:49 different types of reports that we can
00:09:48 00:09:51 build and up here at the top of this
00:09:49 00:09:52 builder section right here
00:09:51 00:09:54 you can see that we still have table
00:09:52 00:09:56 selected if you decide while you're
00:09:54 00:09:58 building a report that you want to
00:09:56 00:09:59 change the type of report that you have
00:09:58 00:10:01 you can click from this drop down
00:09:59 00:10:02 and all of the previous options that you
00:10:01 00:10:04 had whenever you first created the
00:10:02 00:10:06 report will pop back
00:10:04 00:10:07 up so you're not stuck building only a
00:10:06 00:10:09 table you don't have to abandon all of
00:10:07 00:10:10 your changes and move back so let's say
00:10:09 00:10:13 i just wanted to change this to
00:10:10 00:10:14 a bar chart now we can see that we have
00:10:13 00:10:16 the
00:10:14 00:10:18 month breakdown on the left and then we
00:10:16 00:10:19 have impressions and clicks and their
00:10:18 00:10:21 relative bar charts
00:10:19 00:10:23 in the tables here it has selected
00:10:21 00:10:25 custom access because for those of you
00:10:23 00:10:27 who are paying attention
00:10:25 00:10:29 in some of these months we have clicks
00:10:27 00:10:31 looking pretty close to impressions even
00:10:29 00:10:32 though they are very far off in this
00:10:31 00:10:34 month we only had
00:10:32 00:10:36 21 000 clicks but 1.4 million
00:10:34 00:10:38 impressions but they look pretty close
00:10:36 00:10:39 that's because this custom axis has been
00:10:38 00:10:41 chosen you can see that the
00:10:39 00:10:43 axes are different this one is in the
00:10:41 00:10:44 millions for impressions and this one is
00:10:43 00:10:46 in the
00:10:44 00:10:47 tens of thousands for clicks if i come
00:10:46 00:10:49 over here and turn this off
00:10:47 00:10:51 it then takes things down to the same
00:10:49 00:10:52 scale because there's no longer an axis
00:10:51 00:10:53 up here
00:10:52 00:10:55 we're only using this down here but as
00:10:53 00:10:56 you can tell that makes it really
00:10:55 00:10:58 difficult to see
00:10:56 00:10:59 the variance in the click performance
00:10:58 00:11:01 month over month
00:10:59 00:11:03 for this specific example or any data
00:11:01 00:11:04 example that you have that's similar to
00:11:03 00:11:06 this where the chart is
00:11:04 00:11:08 very hard to read for one of the metrics
00:11:06 00:11:09 you should be able to come up here and
00:11:08 00:11:11 click the custom y
00:11:09 00:11:12 axis and then it'll populate the data
00:11:11 00:11:13 this way which is just a bit easier to
00:11:12 00:11:15 read
00:11:13 00:11:16 we can also choose to segment the data
00:11:15 00:11:18 let's say by
00:11:16 00:11:20 time series we can make a line chart now
00:11:18 00:11:20 because i already had my data selected
00:11:20 00:11:22 by month
00:11:20 00:11:24 this is what it pre-selected for me and
00:11:22 00:11:25 everything looks about the same
00:11:24 00:11:27 this is what it would have been we still
00:11:25 00:11:29 have the custom y-axis in place but
00:11:27 00:11:31 you'll notike that the
00:11:29 00:11:33 row that i had here that was for month
00:11:31 00:11:36 has gone away because this is already
00:11:33 00:11:38 inherently a time report now instead
00:11:36 00:11:40 we've chosen for a monthly report here
00:11:38 00:11:42 but you can adjust that pretty easily
00:11:40 00:11:43 without having to use
00:11:42 00:11:45 the metrics and dimensions on the right
00:11:43 00:11:47 so you can adjust it to be
00:11:45 00:11:49 daily weekly quarterly yearly so if i
00:11:47 00:11:50 wanted it to be daily
00:11:49 00:11:52 could easily adjust to that and then
00:11:50 00:11:53 it'll recalculate and show me all of my
00:11:52 00:11:55 impressions and clicks
00:11:53 00:11:57 by day over the period of time that i
00:11:55 00:11:58 have it in here once you've built the
00:11:57 00:11:59 report
00:11:58 00:12:01 the way that you want it to there are
00:11:59 00:12:02 lots of different adjustments that you
00:12:01 00:12:04 can make you can either
00:12:02 00:12:07 download it right away which for this
00:12:04 00:12:10 type of report it'll show only a pdf
00:12:07 00:12:11 or a png because this is a line chart
00:12:10 00:12:13 this is going to be visual
00:12:11 00:12:15 you're not going to get the data points
00:12:13 00:12:17 with it it's literally only going to
00:12:15 00:12:18 show you what you have off to the left
00:12:17 00:12:20 i've gone ahead and downloaded this one
00:12:18 00:12:21 already and this is what the report
00:12:20 00:12:23 looks like
00:12:21 00:12:25 as a png there's literally nothing else
00:12:23 00:12:26 you can do to it it just shows you the
00:12:25 00:12:27 exact same chart that you see in the
00:12:26 00:12:29 interface
00:12:27 00:12:30 just know that when you download a time
00:12:29 00:12:32 series chart this is what it's going to
00:12:30 00:12:35 look like but if we change
00:12:32 00:12:37 our chart type back to a table
00:12:35 00:12:38 we will first have to add the month
00:12:37 00:12:40 category back in
00:12:38 00:12:41 then when we go up to download we'll
00:12:40 00:12:43 have a lot more options we'll have the
00:12:41 00:12:46 more traditional options of csv
00:12:43 00:12:47 excel csv all these different options
00:12:46 00:12:49 that you have you still have pdf down at
00:12:47 00:12:51 the bottom but just know that file type
00:12:49 00:12:53 will change based on the type of report
00:12:51 00:12:53 you're using next you can schedule the
00:12:53 00:12:55 report
00:12:53 00:12:57 if this is something that you want to
00:12:55 00:12:58 have show up in somebody's inbox on a
00:12:57 00:13:00 regular basis

00:13:15 00:13:18 each one of the users with an email
00:13:16 00:13:20 address that can get a report you just
00:13:18 00:13:20 check the box next to their name they're
00:13:20 00:13:22 good to go
00:13:20 00:13:24 next you choose the frequency that you
00:13:22 00:13:24 want the report to come it can be either
00:13:24 00:13:28 one time
00:13:24 00:13:29 daily weekly monthly weekdays monday to
00:13:28 00:13:31 friday or the first day of the month if
00:13:29 00:13:33 you choose something like weekly you
00:13:31 00:13:34 then get to choose the hour that you
00:13:33 00:13:35 want it to run
00:13:34 00:13:37 you can choose within an hour increment
00:13:35 00:13:38 and then you get to choose which day of
00:13:37 00:13:40 the week you want it to run
00:13:38 00:13:42 so any of the individual days the same
00:13:40 00:13:43 types of customizations are also going
00:13:42 00:13:45 to show up for
00:13:43 00:13:46 daily you'll get to choose the hour for
00:13:45 00:13:48 monthly you'll get to choose the day of
00:13:46 00:13:49 the month and the
00:13:48 00:13:51 hour of that month and then lastly you
00:13:49 00:13:53 get to choose the file type
00:13:51 00:13:54 however you want it to come in you get
00:13:53 00:13:56 to choose the format that you want that

00:14:00 00:14:03 totally how big a report is going to be

00:14:07 00:14:10 just know that if your report starts to
00:14:08 00:14:11 get bigger and bigger it's going to take
00:14:10 00:14:13 a little bit longer to send it's going
00:14:11 00:14:14 to take longer to open that sort of

00:14:14 00:14:16 lastly you can add the report name down
00:14:16 00:14:18 at the bottom
00:14:16 00:14:20 this will populate if you have already
00:14:18 00:14:22 adjusted the report name over up in the
00:14:20 00:14:24 top left but since i haven't done that
00:14:22 00:14:25 it's throwing a little bit of an error
00:14:24 00:14:27 and then once you fill all this out
00:14:25 00:14:29 the save option will show up but because
00:14:27 00:14:30 i haven't done it it's not going to so
00:14:29 00:14:32 for now i'm just going to click cancel
00:14:30 00:14:34 the last options you have are up here
00:14:32 00:14:36 above the dimensions and metric section
00:14:34 00:14:38 so first you can save the report
00:14:36 00:14:40 effectively just like we did but we
00:14:38 00:14:42 don't assign any sort of emailing
00:14:40 00:14:43 scheduling anything like that if you
00:14:42 00:14:45 click save it's really just going to
00:14:43 00:14:46 save the report with the name as it is
00:14:45 00:14:49 but let's say
00:14:46 00:14:51 just like with any other document or
00:14:49 00:14:51 maybe an excel sheet that you're working

00:14:51 00:14:54 you get to a certain point in that
00:14:53 00:14:57 process and you want to
00:14:54 00:14:58 save something as a separate report you

00:14:58 00:15:01 in the same way that you would for any
00:14:59 00:15:02 other types of documents so if you get
00:15:01 00:15:04 to a certain point and you say
00:15:02 00:15:06 i want to save this as a different
00:15:04 00:15:08 report you can click save as
00:15:06 00:15:10 it'll populate a new name field so you
00:15:08 00:15:11 can save it as a new name
00:15:10 00:15:13 and then you can revert back to the
00:15:11 00:15:14 previous report the last one is going to
00:15:13 00:15:17 be reset
00:15:14 00:15:17 which is going to restore the report to
00:15:17 00:15:20 its last
00:15:17 00:15:21 saved state so again if you get to a
00:15:20 00:15:23 point where you're working on something
00:15:21 00:15:25 you've saved it a few times and then you
00:15:23 00:15:27 decide that you want to save it as a new
00:15:25 00:15:29 report but you need to revert back
00:15:27 00:15:30 you can click reset and it'll go back to
00:15:29 00:15:31 the last time that this individual
00:15:30 00:15:32 report was saved
00:15:31 00:15:35 now that we've gone through the whole
00:15:32 00:15:37 builder let's tok about the last couple
00:15:35 00:15:38 of ways that we can customize reports so
00:15:37 00:15:40 the first thing i want to do is go back
00:15:38 00:15:41 to the report manager so i'm just going
00:15:40 00:15:42 to come up here and click back
00:15:41 00:15:45 it's going to ask if you want to stay or
00:15:42 00:15:46 leave so now i'm going to get into kind
00:15:45 00:15:48 of how you manage reports
00:15:46 00:15:50 so you can see here there is one saved
00:15:48 00:15:52 report tells you the creation date
00:15:50 00:15:54 access date the date range that it has
00:15:52 00:15:56 and then who it was created by
00:15:54 00:15:57 and any of the scheduling available at a
00:15:56 00:15:59 very quick high level if you hover
00:15:57 00:16:01 over the report itself you'll see
00:15:59 00:16:04 there's a pencil next to the
00:16:01 00:16:05 report name you can adjust it here and
00:16:04 00:16:08 you can adjust the scheduling and the
00:16:05 00:16:10 format very easily from this reports
00:16:08 00:16:11 manager so if you need to make changes
00:16:10 00:16:12 to it you can do that or
00:16:11 00:16:14 if you want to make changes to the
00:16:12 00:16:15 report itself you can click on the
00:16:14 00:16:16 report
00:16:15 00:16:18 name here and it'll open up the builder
00:16:16 00:16:20 and you can adjust it make your changes
00:16:18 00:16:21 click save and then this new report will
00:16:20 00:16:23 be saved here
00:16:21 00:16:25 earlier i toked about predefined
00:16:23 00:16:26 reports and i wanted to go through the
00:16:25 00:16:28 custom builder first to show you how the
00:16:26 00:16:29 builder worked but now let's tok about
00:16:28 00:16:31 the reports themselves
00:16:29 00:16:33 there are going to be a lot of options
00:16:31 00:16:34 that show up here but i think it's even
00:16:33 00:16:35 more impressive if you click the view
00:16:34 00:16:37 all button
00:16:35 00:16:39 now we can see all the predefined
00:16:37 00:16:40 reports that google has built for us
00:16:39 00:16:42 already
00:16:40 00:16:44 right now this basic section is open so
00:16:42 00:16:44 i'm going to close that so you can see
00:16:44 00:16:47 the different
00:16:44 00:16:48 sections of reports that we have basic
00:16:47 00:16:51 time
00:16:48 00:16:52 conversions labels extensions other and
00:16:51 00:16:54 each one of these has a handful of
00:16:52 00:16:55 different reports in it so if you decide
00:16:54 00:16:56 you need a report based on your ad
00:16:55 00:16:58 extensions
00:16:56 00:16:59 you can open this up and there is a
00:16:58 00:17:02 predefined report
00:16:59 00:17:02 for each extension type within the
00:17:02 00:17:04 account
00:17:02 00:17:05 same thing would be for shopping if
00:17:04 00:17:06 you're trying to get some insights but
00:17:05 00:17:08 you don't know where to start
00:17:06 00:17:10 you can come in here to a predefined
00:17:08 00:17:13 report look up the shopping brand
00:17:10 00:17:14 product type store id whatever you want
00:17:13 00:17:15 to have in here
00:17:14 00:17:17 there's lots of different types of
00:17:15 00:17:18 reports so let's just say that i wanted
00:17:17 00:17:19 to go in
00:17:18 00:17:21 and i wanted to find a conversions
00:17:19 00:17:22 report based on the conversion action
00:17:21 00:17:24 name
00:17:22 00:17:26 i can come in here very easily click
00:17:24 00:17:26 open and google will open that report
00:17:26 00:17:28 for me
00:17:26 00:17:30 in the builder with the predefined
00:17:28 00:17:32 fields over here and then i can
00:17:30 00:17:33 customize it to my heart's content
00:17:32 00:17:35 but basically this just gives you a
00:17:33 00:17:36 starting point so that you don't have to
00:17:35 00:17:38 build
00:17:36 00:17:40 a report from scratch clearly this one
00:17:38 00:17:42 doesn't have lots of different fields
00:17:40 00:17:44 available but there is one more way i
00:17:42 00:17:45 want to show you that you can find these
00:17:44 00:17:47 predefined reports and that's going to
00:17:45 00:17:49 be back in the main
00:17:47 00:17:50 campaign section of the google ads
00:17:49 00:17:51 interface
00:17:50 00:17:53 at the very beginning of this demo i
00:17:51 00:17:54 said there were two ways to find those
00:17:53 00:17:56 predefined reports
00:17:54 00:17:58 a lot of you probably already saw them
00:17:56 00:18:00 if you come over here rather than going
00:17:58 00:18:02 into the top navigation you
00:18:00 00:18:03 can click the reports icon above your
00:18:02 00:18:04 campaign manager
00:18:03 00:18:06 you'll notike that a lot of these look
00:18:04 00:18:06 very similar to the ones that we just
00:18:06 00:18:09 saw
00:18:06 00:18:11 in the campaign builder so if we go over
00:18:09 00:18:13 to basic and we click on campaign
00:18:11 00:18:14 this is going to open the campaign
00:18:13 00:18:16 predefined report
00:18:14 00:18:18 for us in the report builder almost
00:18:16 00:18:20 invariably there's going to be some
00:18:18 00:18:21 option like this that shows up that
00:18:20 00:18:22 tells you not all parts of the report
00:18:21 00:18:24 are shown because the filters were
00:18:22 00:18:25 removed it's usually fine it pretty much
00:18:24 00:18:26 has
00:18:25 00:18:28 everything that you need in there so you
00:18:26 00:18:29 can either go back because you want to
00:18:28 00:18:30 remove some of the filters or just click
00:18:29 00:18:31 ok
00:18:30 00:18:33 and here you can see there are lots of
00:18:31 00:18:35 different options already chosen because
00:18:33 00:18:36 there's campaign state
00:18:35 00:18:38 type campaign name and then all the
00:18:36 00:18:41 different columns of performance metrics
00:18:38 00:18:43 that we have here so it's very easy to
00:18:41 00:18:45 get all of the different data points
00:18:43 00:18:47 that you need out of google ads whether
00:18:45 00:18:49 you choose a pre-defined report or if
00:18:47 00:18:51 you just start from scratch but this
00:18:49 00:18:52 reports builder makes it so much easier
00:18:51 00:18:54 to get
00:18:52 00:18:55 lots of data into a single report so
00:18:54 00:18:57 that you can then
00:18:55 00:18:58 download it and utilize it to your
00:18:57 00:19:00 heart's content there
00:18:58 00:19:02 you can have it regularly emailed to you
00:19:00 00:19:02 or you can simply get the data that you
00:19:02 00:19:04 need
00:19:02 00:19:06 right within the reports interface maybe
00:19:04 00:19:07 you make some sort of visual bar chart
00:19:06 00:19:09 so that you can go back to your
00:19:07 00:19:10 campaigns and make the optimizations
00:19:09 00:19:11 quickly
