00:00:23 00:00:28 complete pro so if you don't already

00:00:50 00:00:54 setting up your ads setting up your
00:00:52 00:00:56 campaigns which will ultimately save you
00:00:54 00:00:58 money the first real step is to do
00:00:56 00:01:00 keyword research figure out what someone
00:00:58 00:01:03 would type into google to find your
00:01:00 00:01:06 product now this is a bit of a catch-22
00:01:03 00:01:08 to get access to the google keyword
00:01:06 00:01:10 planner which is a free tool that google
00:01:08 00:01:12 gives you you have to go through and you
00:01:10 00:01:14 have to create your first ad so right
00:01:12 00:01:16 now i'm going to show you how to create
00:01:14 00:01:18 an ad and at this point you should just
00:01:16 00:01:20 whatever keywords you think someone
00:01:18 00:01:22 might go to google to type in and find
00:01:20 00:01:24 your product that's the keywords you
00:01:22 00:01:25 should use but then as soon as we're
00:01:24 00:01:27 done with this i'm going to show you how
00:01:25 00:01:31 to do proper keyword research so let's
00:01:27 00:01:32 make a first sample a test ad just so we
00:01:31 00:01:34 can get access to the google keyword
00:01:32 00:01:36 planner we're going to go over search
00:01:34 00:01:38 ads there's also display ads in
00:01:36 00:01:40 universal app ads which i don't
00:01:38 00:01:42 recommend either one of these two to
00:01:40 00:01:44 beginners search ads are the typical ads
00:01:42 00:01:46 you see when you search for something so
00:01:44 00:01:47 let's click that
00:01:46 00:01:49 and you can click whatever one you want
00:01:47 00:01:51 for now i'm gonna say website traffic
00:01:49 00:01:53 just to make it easy then at the bottom
00:01:51 00:01:54 here you're gonna put in the url of the
00:01:53 00:01:56 website that you're
00:01:54 00:01:58 want to send the ads to want to send the
00:01:56 00:01:59 traffic to i'm going to be using the
00:01:58 00:02:01 company vino cards which is my
00:01:59 00:02:03 girlfriend's company i taught her how to
00:02:01 00:02:04 create her own unique product her own
00:02:03 00:02:06 passion product and that's one thing
00:02:04 00:02:08 here on this channel that i do that's
00:02:06 00:02:09 different from most channels is they
00:02:08 00:02:11 teach you how to create your own unique
00:02:09 00:02:12 product my personal company is
00:02:11 00:02:15 performance nut butter but let's get
00:02:12 00:02:16 back to the tutorial with vino cards
00:02:15 00:02:18 when you get to this page you're going
00:02:16 00:02:21 to put in a campaign name so i'm going
00:02:18 00:02:23 to put vino cards general campaign
00:02:21 00:02:24 just to make things easy
00:02:23 00:02:26 now at this point we're setting up the
00:02:24 00:02:28 campaign so let me share some tips with
00:02:26 00:02:29 you on how to save some money one of the
00:02:28 00:02:32 first ones if you want to save a lot of
00:02:29 00:02:34 money uncheck that box so include google
00:02:32 00:02:36 search partners google search partners
00:02:34 00:02:38 just aren't as profitable as google is
00:02:36 00:02:40 from what i've seen and same thing
00:02:38 00:02:43 include google display network these are
00:02:40 00:02:45 ads that you might see on websites that
00:02:43 00:02:48 are display ads i only want to target
00:02:45 00:02:49 search keywords another thing to save
00:02:48 00:02:51 you money is make sure you're only doing
00:02:49 00:02:53 in the united states or whatever country
00:02:51 00:02:55 makes sense for you
00:02:53 00:02:58 languages we got english so that's good
00:02:55 00:03:01 budget i say five dollars a day that's a
00:02:58 00:03:04 nice budget to start obviously as you
00:03:01 00:03:06 become more confident you may want to
00:03:04 00:03:08 raise that budget you can do accelerated
00:03:06 00:03:11 or standard this also is up to you
00:03:08 00:03:13 accelerated delivery basically means
00:03:11 00:03:15 that it will spend google will send your
00:03:13 00:03:17 budge spend your budget as quickly as
00:03:15 00:03:19 possible so that means this five dollars
00:03:17 00:03:22 might be gone in the first 10 minutes of
00:03:19 00:03:23 the day standard lets it happen over the
00:03:22 00:03:25 course of the day so this one's kind of
00:03:23 00:03:27 up to you i'm just going to go standard
00:03:25 00:03:29 for now
00:03:27 00:03:32 and down here and here we're going to
00:03:29 00:03:34 set the maximum cpc bid limit so i'm
00:03:32 00:03:37 going to put in there a dollar this is
00:03:34 00:03:38 just to start another tip to save some
00:03:37 00:03:40 money is i like to go down to additional
00:03:38 00:03:41 settings
00:03:40 00:03:44 and
00:03:41 00:03:46 you can change the ad schedule maybe you
00:03:44 00:03:49 only want to run it from let's say
00:03:46 00:03:50 six in the morning till eight at night
00:03:49 00:03:52 all these other advanced features are
00:03:50 00:03:54 things we'll go over either later in
00:03:52 00:03:57 this tutorial or in a different lesson
00:03:54 00:03:58 down the line but for now this is enough
00:03:57 00:04:00 that you're you're gonna have a pretty
00:03:58 00:04:01 profitable ad so let's go ahead and
00:04:00 00:04:03 click save and continue now we're
00:04:01 00:04:04 setting up the ad group so for this
00:04:03 00:04:05 first one i'm just going to call this
00:04:04 00:04:07 vino cards
00:04:05 00:04:09 general just keep it nice and broad
00:04:07 00:04:11 we're going to do a standard ad group
00:04:09 00:04:12 type these are the words that when
00:04:11 00:04:15 people search on google your ad will
00:04:12 00:04:17 show for so i know my company fairly
00:04:15 00:04:18 well and we're going to go wine flash
00:04:17 00:04:20 cards
00:04:18 00:04:21 and we'll also put wine flash cards with
00:04:20 00:04:24 the space in there just to make sure we
00:04:21 00:04:25 cap capture everything and these are
00:04:24 00:04:27 broad match we'll tok about the
00:04:25 00:04:30 difference between broad match phrase
00:04:27 00:04:32 match and exact match later but these
00:04:30 00:04:33 we're going to be targeting broad match
00:04:32 00:04:34 for now
00:04:33 00:04:37 and again the reason i chose the
00:04:34 00:04:38 keywords wine flash cards is this is
00:04:37 00:04:41 what the product looks like it's a flash
00:04:38 00:04:44 cards for wine so when someone types in
00:04:41 00:04:46 wine flash cards into google
00:04:44 00:04:48 my product it perfectly describes my
00:04:46 00:04:50 product and i want my product to show up
00:04:48 00:04:52 so that's why i picked the keywords wine
00:04:50 00:04:54 flash cards again these are just
00:04:52 00:04:56 temporary keywords we're going to do all
00:04:54 00:04:57 the keyword research in just a little
00:04:56 00:04:59 bit i'll show you how to do that we're
00:04:57 00:05:01 going to be targeting broad match for
00:04:59 00:05:03 now now i know we haven't toked about
00:05:01 00:05:05 keyword research yet but to be able to
00:05:03 00:05:08 do proper keyword research we just have
00:05:05 00:05:10 to set up the first test campaign so
00:05:08 00:05:12 let's go ahead and click continue and
00:05:10 00:05:13 now it's time to set up the ad itself so
00:05:12 00:05:15 for the final url we'll put
00:05:13 00:05:17 vinocards.com
00:05:15 00:05:19 and we'll put a headline so here's some
00:05:17 00:05:21 tips for writing a good headline
00:05:19 00:05:23 whenever possible you want to include
00:05:21 00:05:26 the keyword the search word that you're
00:05:23 00:05:28 targeting so for us it would be wine
00:05:26 00:05:29 flash cards
00:05:28 00:05:32 and you want to tok about the benefit
00:05:29 00:05:34 of your product and if there's a number
00:05:32 00:05:36 for instance our product comes with 52
00:05:34 00:05:37 wine flash cards go ahead and throw that
00:05:36 00:05:39 in there because that really captures
00:05:37 00:05:40 people's attention if there's a bunch of
00:05:39 00:05:43 text on the page which there usually is
00:05:40 00:05:45 on google some numbers will do a lot of
00:05:43 00:05:48 a lot of good so i'll just be i'll put
00:05:45 00:05:52 become a wine expert
00:05:48 00:05:54 and then for headline three
00:05:52 00:05:56 host wine tastings
00:05:54 00:05:59 like a
00:05:56 00:06:01 pro now obviously these aren't very good
00:05:59 00:06:03 but we can do better and i'll share some
00:06:01 00:06:05 more tips later on in this tutorial so
00:06:03 00:06:08 again this first ad we're creating we're
00:06:05 00:06:10 just doing it quick and dirty so that we
00:06:08 00:06:12 can get access to the google keyword
00:06:10 00:06:14 planner don't forget to add the
00:06:12 00:06:15 description so i'm just going to put a
00:06:14 00:06:16 test
00:06:15 00:06:18 sample

00:06:18 00:06:23 i'm not spelling that right for vino
00:06:20 00:06:24 cards
00:06:23 00:06:26 and then click save and continue at this
00:06:24 00:06:27 point you're going to set up the billing
00:06:26 00:06:29 and here's a huge tip for you that will
00:06:27 00:06:32 save you at least 100
00:06:29 00:06:34 go find a coupon code if you can find a
00:06:32 00:06:35 coupon for your adwords account that's
00:06:34 00:06:37 very helpful you'll save at least a
00:06:35 00:06:39 hundred dollars and you'll put that
00:06:37 00:06:41 coupon code in there and apply other
00:06:39 00:06:42 than that just fill out the this
00:06:41 00:06:45 information including the credit card
00:06:42 00:06:47 information and click submit
00:06:45 00:06:49 congratulations you've set up your first
00:06:47 00:06:50 ad but we're not done there this is just
00:06:49 00:06:52 the start of the tutorial i want to dive
00:06:50 00:06:53 in a little bit deeper into the keyword
00:06:52 00:06:56 research and we're going to go through
00:06:53 00:06:57 this one more time now that you're
00:06:56 00:06:58 somewhat knowledgeable on the basics
00:06:57 00:07:00 we're going to go through it again and
00:06:58 00:07:02 i'll show you some tips on how to
00:07:00 00:07:04 properly use adwords so at this point
00:07:02 00:07:06 you have access to all the amazing tools
00:07:04 00:07:08 including the google keyword planner
00:07:06 00:07:10 which is where we're going to start but
00:07:08 00:07:12 let me just show you really quick
00:07:10 00:07:13 all your campaigns as we add more
00:07:12 00:07:15 campaigns will show up right here you'll
00:07:13 00:07:17 be able to click on them and this will
00:07:15 00:07:19 be an is an example of an ad group so
00:07:17 00:07:21 you have the campaign at the high level
00:07:19 00:07:23 and one campaign might have multiple ad
00:07:21 00:07:26 groups within it and then within each ad
00:07:23 00:07:28 group it might have multiple ads
00:07:26 00:07:31 and the benefit of this is each ad group
00:07:28 00:07:33 will have keywords and each ad group
00:07:31 00:07:35 that has you know each ad group might
00:07:33 00:07:37 have very targeted keywords so within
00:07:35 00:07:39 one campaign you could have an ad group
00:07:37 00:07:41 so for example you might have one ad
00:07:39 00:07:42 group within this campaign called vino
00:07:41 00:07:45 card's general campaign that is
00:07:42 00:07:47 targeting anytime someone types in wine
00:07:45 00:07:49 flash cards they would that ad group
00:07:47 00:07:51 would would target them and would show
00:07:49 00:07:53 the correct ad you might have another
00:07:51 00:07:56 one that would say something like host a
00:07:53 00:07:58 wine tasting party and anytime someone
00:07:56 00:08:00 types in host a wine tasting party or
00:07:58 00:08:02 wine hosting kit
00:08:00 00:08:04 that ad would show up so this is going
00:08:02 00:08:06 to be a lot more clear as we go through
00:08:04 00:08:07 this tutorial the first thing we're
00:08:06 00:08:09 going to do is go to the tools and go to
00:08:07 00:08:10 the keyword planner if you already have
00:08:09 00:08:12 a list of keywords and you just want to
00:08:10 00:08:14 find the search volume and the forecast
00:08:12 00:08:17 of how many clicks you'd be getting and
00:08:14 00:08:18 go to get volume and forecast but i
00:08:17 00:08:21 think if you're new to this it's very
00:08:18 00:08:24 helpful to find new keywords
00:08:21 00:08:26 so i know for me for instance wine flash
00:08:24 00:08:28 cards that's one key word i want to go
00:08:26 00:08:30 after so let's let's get started and see
00:08:28 00:08:31 what shows up
00:08:30 00:08:34 got it all right wine flash cards
00:08:31 00:08:36 average monthly searches 10 to 100 and
00:08:34 00:08:38 the competition's pretty high
00:08:36 00:08:40 that's not the best that's not the best
00:08:38 00:08:43 keyword to target let's see introductory
00:08:40 00:08:45 sommelier flashcards so look at this
00:08:43 00:08:47 10 to 100 searches same amount of
00:08:45 00:08:49 searches but a lower
00:08:47 00:08:52 competition so i know right away let's
00:08:49 00:08:54 let's click that and we're going to
00:08:52 00:08:56 we're just going to save it for now so i
00:08:54 00:08:58 know right away that this one is a good
00:08:56 00:09:01 search term that we're going to go after
00:08:58 00:09:03 so introductory somali a flash cards
00:09:01 00:09:04 let's look at what else we have here
00:09:03 00:09:05 you're going to want to think about what
00:09:04 00:09:07 would someone type into google to find
00:09:05 00:09:09 your product and try to find keywords
00:09:07 00:09:11 related so wine
00:09:09 00:09:13 tasting
00:09:11 00:09:14 kit
00:09:13 00:09:16 let's get results
00:09:14 00:09:19 so we got wine tasting kit here
00:09:16 00:09:21 competition is high as well that's okay
00:09:19 00:09:24 top page bid is a dollar so this might
00:09:21 00:09:26 be another good one to go after wine
00:09:24 00:09:28 wine tasting party kit
00:09:26 00:09:29 look at that it's half the price right
00:09:28 00:09:31 here it has less search volume which is
00:09:29 00:09:33 fine but it's half the price so i'm
00:09:31 00:09:36 gonna i'm gonna take this one
00:09:33 00:09:38 and i'm gonna add to a new ad group
00:09:36 00:09:41 let's call this new ad group wine
00:09:38 00:09:42 tasting
00:09:41 00:09:44 kit
00:09:42 00:09:45 for now
00:09:44 00:09:47 so you're basically going to repeat this
00:09:45 00:09:49 process over and over again and try to
00:09:47 00:09:51 find as many keywords as possible i've
00:09:49 00:09:53 already personally come up with a list
00:09:51 00:09:55 of keywords that i think would do well
00:09:53 00:09:56 for vino cards so let's do a new ad
00:09:55 00:09:59 group let's say that we wanted a target
00:09:56 00:10:01 every time someone searched this in
00:09:59 00:10:01 google
00:10:03 00:10:06 and what would happen is when someone
00:10:04 00:10:09 searches this it would show up in this
00:10:06 00:10:11 spot right here and our ad would show up
00:10:09 00:10:12 so let me show you how you would do that
00:10:11 00:10:14 because i know if someone's typing in
00:10:12 00:10:16 wine tasting party kit there's a good
00:10:14 00:10:18 chance that they would want to buy vino
00:10:16 00:10:20 cards so let's go back here we can exit
00:10:18 00:10:22 out right here and we're going to go
00:10:20 00:10:24 over this entire process again so i'm
00:10:22 00:10:25 going to create a new campaign just for
00:10:24 00:10:27 fun just to show you the process but
00:10:25 00:10:30 usually i'd probably keep it under the
00:10:27 00:10:31 vino cards general campaign so this is
00:10:30 00:10:34 what it would look like so go to all
00:10:31 00:10:37 campaigns let's go campaigns
00:10:34 00:10:39 and then click the plus sign right here

00:11:47 00:11:52 phrase match and finally exact match so
00:11:50 00:11:54 it toks about it down here how you can
00:11:52 00:11:56 do it but let me show you a real example
00:11:54 00:11:59 so wine tasting party kit
00:11:56 00:12:01 general if you just always do the
00:11:59 00:12:02 modified broad match the modified broad
00:12:01 00:12:05 match is by putting the plus signs in
00:12:02 00:12:07 front this will save you a lot of money
00:12:05 00:12:09 because if you don't do that the way
00:12:07 00:12:11 broad match works is if you go over to
00:12:09 00:12:13 google let's type in wine tasting party
00:12:11 00:12:16 kit someone could type in wine tasting
00:12:13 00:12:18 party kit and just whatever other junk
00:12:16 00:12:19 they want right here maybe they say
00:12:18 00:12:20 monkey
00:12:19 00:12:21 red
00:12:20 00:12:22 discount
00:12:21 00:12:25 they can type in anything and your ad
00:12:22 00:12:27 will still come up so you don't want
00:12:25 00:12:30 that that's just a general broad match
00:12:27 00:12:32 now by not including the modified not
00:12:30 00:12:34 including the plus sign instead of party
00:12:32 00:12:36 they could say mixer and what google
00:12:34 00:12:37 does is if you don't have that plus sign
00:12:36 00:12:39 in front
00:12:37 00:12:41 google will say well a mixer is
00:12:39 00:12:43 basically a party and they'll show your
00:12:41 00:12:44 ad anyways so you'll always want to put
00:12:43 00:12:47 that plus sign in front because
00:12:44 00:12:48 otherwise you're letting google create
00:12:47 00:12:50 synonyms for you so let's get rid of
00:12:48 00:12:52 that one so again with modified broad
00:12:50 00:12:56 match as long as they have the words
00:12:52 00:12:58 wine tasting party and kit
00:12:56 00:13:01 your ad will show up so even if someone
00:12:58 00:13:03 typed in their discount or
00:13:01 00:13:05 whatever it doesn't really matter now
00:13:03 00:13:07 with phrase match
00:13:05 00:13:09 this phrase needs to come up so there
00:13:07 00:13:12 could be words at the end or there could
00:13:09 00:13:14 be words at the beginning but as long as
00:13:12 00:13:16 this phrase shows up your
00:13:14 00:13:18 ad will show up the last one
00:13:16 00:13:20 and that's the exact match which is
00:13:18 00:13:23 right here is if
00:13:20 00:13:25 your ad will only show up if exactly
00:13:23 00:13:28 this hence exact match
00:13:25 00:13:30 wine tasting party kit is in it is in
00:13:28 00:13:31 the what someone's searching for is in
00:13:30 00:13:33 the keywords of what someone's searching
00:13:31 00:13:35 for there if anything is added to it
00:13:33 00:13:37 your ad will not show up so what a lot
00:13:35 00:13:38 of people like to do is all three of
00:13:37 00:13:41 these and put different bid prices for
00:13:38 00:13:43 all three of them uh this is up to you a
00:13:41 00:13:44 lot of times what i personally do is
00:13:43 00:13:46 just start with modified broad match and
00:13:44 00:13:48 add a lot of negative keywords so we're
00:13:46 00:13:51 going to click save and continue we'll
00:13:48 00:13:51 just do it like this for now
00:13:52 00:13:56 again we're going to write out the
00:13:54 00:13:59 headlines and the
00:13:56 00:14:00 all the different descriptions here
00:13:59 00:14:03 so
00:14:00 00:14:05 like i said before 52 wine flash cards

00:15:09 00:15:13 and they'll reward you for this so i

00:15:21 00:15:24 and you can type in more but i'm just
00:15:23 00:15:26 going to leave it like that for right

00:17:31 00:17:35 keywords basically make it so that if

00:17:35 00:17:40 negative keywords are included in a
00:17:37 00:17:43 customer's search query your ad will not
00:17:40 00:17:44 show so some common negative keywords
00:17:43 00:17:46 are discount because if someone's
00:17:44 00:17:48 looking for a discount for
00:17:46 00:17:49 you know wine flash cards i don't want
00:17:48 00:17:50 them buying my product they're not good
00:17:49 00:17:53 customers
00:17:50 00:17:55 another one might be target
00:17:53 00:17:57 walmart
00:17:55 00:18:00 amazon all these are things because if
00:17:57 00:18:02 someone's typing in target wine flash
00:18:00 00:18:04 cards or target wine tasting party kit
00:18:02 00:18:06 they're looking to buy it from target or
00:18:04 00:18:08 walmart some other ideas if you want to
00:18:06 00:18:11 find negative keywords you can go to

00:18:11 00:18:13 and what you'll do is you'll type in
00:18:12 00:18:14 wine
00:18:13 00:18:19 tasting
00:18:14 00:18:21 party kit and you'll get a ton of ideas
00:18:19 00:18:23 of what someone might search in addition
00:18:21 00:18:24 to wine tasting party kit and you can
00:18:23 00:18:26 look through these and figure out which
00:18:24 00:18:27 ones should be negative keywords and
00:18:26 00:18:29 which ones
00:18:27 00:18:31 shouldn't which one should be okay
00:18:29 00:18:33 now i'm not going to spend time doing
00:18:31 00:18:35 this right now i do have a video down

00:18:37 00:18:41 there's a few different processes and
00:18:39 00:18:43 that's one of the ones i tok about in

00:18:49 00:18:54 a negative keyword list and the benefit
00:18:52 00:18:55 of a list is you can use it in lots of
00:18:54 00:18:58 different campaigns lots of different ad
00:18:55 00:18:59 groups so let me just show you here

00:18:59 00:19:03 negative
00:19:01 00:19:05 keywords so i'll just include again
00:19:03 00:19:07 target discount
00:19:05 00:19:10 and we'll just leave it like that for
00:19:07 00:19:13 now so i save it and what i can do is i
00:19:10 00:19:15 can click on this and i can apply it to
00:19:13 00:19:17 lots of different campaigns so i can
00:19:15 00:19:19 apply it to both these campaigns and the
00:19:17 00:19:21 benefit of this is i have one central
00:19:19 00:19:22 location i put all my negative keywords
00:19:21 00:19:24 in and i can apply it to multiple
00:19:22 00:19:27 different campaigns another advanced
00:19:24 00:19:28 feature is the google adwords editor and
00:19:27 00:19:30 you just type that in and you can
00:19:28 00:19:32 download it and it's actually software
00:19:30 00:19:33 that is on your computer i'll show you
00:19:32 00:19:36 what it looks like here
00:19:33 00:19:38 and you can go in and you can edit
00:19:36 00:19:41 things in bulk so i can go through and
00:19:38 00:19:43 export into a csv document which is like
00:19:41 00:19:45 an excel spreadsheet and edit things in
00:19:43 00:19:47 bulk so if you're planning on uploading
00:19:45 00:19:50 lots of campaigns lots of accounts that
00:19:47 00:19:52 is a better tool to use than just going
00:19:50 00:19:54 through this portal right here the most
00:19:52 00:19:55 important thing to keep in mind with
00:19:54 00:19:57 adwords is that you're constantly
00:19:55 00:19:58 testing you're not going to get it right
00:19:57 00:19:59 right out of the gate it's going to take
00:19:58 00:20:01 some work you're going to spend some
00:19:59 00:20:03 money and you might lose money at first
00:20:01 00:20:06 but you're paying for information you're
00:20:03 00:20:07 paying for the knowledge of what works
00:20:06 00:20:10 and what doesn't work if you want to
00:20:07 00:20:12 fast track that success i do have a link
