Starting a business can be daunting, especially when it comes to finances. However, with a little creativity and resourcefulness, anyone can start their own business with a limited budget. In this article, I'll be sharing my experience of how I started my swimwear brand for only $500.
How I Got the $500:
I didn't want to use my own money from my savings account or bank account, so I signed up for Instacart, a grocery delivery service, to earn some extra cash. In my first week, I made $649.86, and I used that money to fund my business.
What I Bought:
1. Wholesale Swimwear - I spent $112 on my first set of wholesale swimwear. I wanted high-end swimwear to match the products I was making on my own.
2. Shipping Supplies - I spent $12 on plain white poly mailers and used free priority mailers from the post office.
3. Fabric - I spent $143 on fabric from downtown LA for my handmade pieces.
4. Scale - I spent $8 on a scale from Walmart to accurately weigh my items for shipping.
5. Printer - I spent $20 on a printer, but it didn't work well for my needs.
6. Website - I used Shopify for my website and spent $30 per month, plus 99 cents for my domain.
Pre-Launch:
I made my $500 back overnight with a pre-launch, which I can share in a future video.
