| 00:00:48 | 00:00:52 | so um i was born in france in the french |
| 00:00:51 | 00:00:55 | alps |
| 00:00:52 | 00:00:57 | and then i lived in paris for about |
| 00:00:55 | 00:00:59 | seven years |
| 00:00:57 | 00:01:00 | uh was a web designer there for our |
| 00:00:59 | 00:01:04 | e-commerce company |
| 00:01:00 | 00:01:08 | and i moved in to the us in 2011 |
| 00:01:04 | 00:01:12 | early 2011 didn't |
| 00:01:08 | 00:01:13 | speak much english and uh so i played uh |
| 00:01:12 | 00:01:16 | played poker for |
| 00:01:13 | 00:01:17 | for a little bit just to pay the bills |

| 00:01:17 | 00:01:20 | then i was able to you know land jobs |
| 00:01:19 | 00:01:21 | when i |
| 00:01:20 | 00:01:23 | met my english got better and so i |
| 00:01:21 | 00:01:27 | worked as a web designer |

| 00:01:30 | 00:01:36 | my current career oh wow and and |
| 00:01:34 | 00:01:37 | what made you you know moving to the us |
| 00:01:36 | 00:01:40 | and not being able to speak |
| 00:01:37 | 00:01:42 | the english language did you have any |
| 00:01:40 | 00:01:45 | hesitations about that were you |
| 00:01:42 | 00:01:45 | afraid of making that life transition |
| 00:01:45 | 00:01:47 | and |
| 00:01:45 | 00:01:48 | moving to you know foreign land and not |
| 00:01:47 | 00:01:52 | being able to |
| 00:01:48 | 00:01:54 | to speak the native tongue here i mean |
| 00:01:52 | 00:01:56 | you know a little bit but i mean not |
| 00:01:54 | 00:01:59 | really because i moved |
| 00:01:56 | 00:02:02 | so uh but yeah i had some |
| 00:01:59 | 00:02:02 | some difficulties here you know when |
| 00:02:02 | 00:02:05 | you're |
| 00:02:02 | 00:02:08 | in the environment in the us and then |
| 00:02:05 | 00:02:11 | everybody around you speaks english |
| 00:02:08 | 00:02:13 | it you pick it up pretty quickly um even |
| 00:02:11 | 00:02:16 | though my accent is still |
| 00:02:13 | 00:02:17 | thick uh for certain people but it's way |
| 00:02:16 | 00:02:19 | better than he was |
| 00:02:17 | 00:02:20 | no i think you could have moved here you |
| 00:02:19 | 00:02:22 | sound great it's |
| 00:02:20 | 00:02:25 | very impressive and i agree the best way |
| 00:02:22 | 00:02:27 | to learn a language is full immersion |
| 00:02:25 | 00:02:29 | being in the country it's just there's |
| 00:02:27 | 00:02:30 | no textbook that's going to replace that |
| 00:02:29 | 00:02:33 | experience so |
| 00:02:30 | 00:02:34 | that's very cool so you moved to the us |

| 00:02:34 | 00:02:37 | and then you started playing poker which |
| 00:02:36 | 00:02:39 | you must have been really great at poker |
| 00:02:37 | 00:02:41 | to be able to make a living off of that |
| 00:02:39 | 00:02:43 | so that sounds like a lot of fun and |
| 00:02:41 | 00:02:46 | then you picked up a job and |
| 00:02:43 | 00:02:46 | then you discovered uh a way to earn |
| 00:02:46 | 00:02:49 | money |
| 00:02:46 | 00:02:50 | from through an online business which |
| 00:02:49 | 00:02:52 | was wholesaling |
| 00:02:50 | 00:02:54 | so maybe you can share with us how did |
| 00:02:52 | 00:02:57 | you discover this |
| 00:02:54 | 00:02:59 | and what propelled you what um what |
| 00:02:57 | 00:03:00 | what attracted you to this business |

| 00:03:09 | 00:03:14 | and you know you're doing research and |
| 00:03:11 | 00:03:16 | using webinars and all that and |
| 00:03:14 | 00:03:18 | and it made complete sense to me what |
| 00:03:16 | 00:03:21 | they were teaching |
| 00:03:18 | 00:03:23 | and so so i thought i dug further and i |
| 00:03:21 | 00:03:25 | i looked at you know the model and and |
| 00:03:23 | 00:03:28 | what they were teaching and then i just |
| 00:03:25 | 00:03:29 | i just purchased the course and followed |
| 00:03:28 | 00:03:32 | whatever they they were teaching pretty |
| 00:03:29 | 00:03:34 | much wow that's great yeah yeah |
| 00:03:32 | 00:03:35 | i totally feel the same way as you i |
| 00:03:34 | 00:03:37 | didn't really know much about reverse |
| 00:03:35 | 00:03:40 | sourcing wholesale |
| 00:03:37 | 00:03:41 | until i met dylan and dan who taught me |

| 00:03:41 | 00:03:44 | when i heard about what it is it just it |
| 00:03:44 | 00:03:46 | was like an |
| 00:03:44 | 00:03:48 | aha moment where it's like yeah it just |
| 00:03:46 | 00:03:50 | makes sense it's hard to argue what |
| 00:03:48 | 00:03:51 | they're saying because it just makes |
| 00:03:50 | 00:03:53 | total sense |
| 00:03:51 | 00:03:54 | so it's a very easy sale you know |

| 00:03:54 | 00:03:58 | when you understand the whole process |
| 00:03:57 | 00:04:00 | you know it's not it's not hard to |
| 00:03:58 | 00:04:02 | to you know sell someone a course in a |

| 00:04:29 | 00:04:35 | and asked them for authorization to be a |
| 00:04:32 | 00:04:38 | reseller of their brand on amazon |
| 00:04:35 | 00:04:40 | and the ultimate goal being to become |
| 00:04:38 | 00:04:42 | their exclusive reseller |
| 00:04:40 | 00:04:43 | so give them enough value and become the |
| 00:04:42 | 00:04:46 | exclusive |
| 00:04:43 | 00:04:50 | reseller for their brand on amazon |
| 00:04:46 | 00:04:52 | so um how did you manage to land your |
| 00:04:50 | 00:04:54 | first brand that said yep |
| 00:04:52 | 00:04:56 | like i'd love you to be an exclusive |
| 00:04:54 | 00:04:57 | reseller of our brand and |
| 00:04:56 | 00:04:59 | you then moved forward and started |
| 00:04:57 | 00:05:02 | selling that product on amazon |
| 00:04:59 | 00:05:04 | how what was that process like given the |
| 00:05:02 | 00:05:05 | fact that you didn't have any previous |
| 00:05:04 | 00:05:08 | experience or |
| 00:05:05 | 00:05:09 | any previous business experience so it's |
| 00:05:08 | 00:05:12 | uh it's actually |
| 00:05:09 | 00:05:13 | pretty funny uh i was on a on another |
| 00:05:12 | 00:05:16 | webinar |
| 00:05:13 | 00:05:20 | with dan and dylan uh they were teaching |
| 00:05:16 | 00:05:22 | sourcing so how to find products and uh |
| 00:05:20 | 00:05:24 | so we were i don't know hundreds of |
| 00:05:22 | 00:05:27 | people on that webinar and |
| 00:05:24 | 00:05:28 | uh and so they were looking at products |
| 00:05:27 | 00:05:30 | and at some point they found something |
| 00:05:28 | 00:05:32 | they're like oh it's interesting that's |
| 00:05:30 | 00:05:34 | something that we would probably source |
| 00:05:32 | 00:05:37 | and contact the brand |
| 00:05:34 | 00:05:38 | and uh and they looked at it and it was |
| 00:05:37 | 00:05:40 | from vegas |
| 00:05:38 | 00:05:41 | and so i live in i live in las vegas and |
| 00:05:40 | 00:05:43 | so uh |
| 00:05:41 | 00:05:45 | the manufacturer the brand owner was in |
| 00:05:43 | 00:05:46 | vegas and so in the chat i was like oh |
| 00:05:45 | 00:05:49 | yeah that one |
| 00:05:46 | 00:05:50 | that one's for me uh and so the next day |
| 00:05:49 | 00:05:52 | i was pretty much in their office |
| 00:05:50 | 00:05:55 | uh toking to them asking hey can i buy |
| 00:05:52 | 00:05:56 | your product oh wow so you actually went |
| 00:05:55 | 00:05:57 | there in person |
| 00:05:56 | 00:05:59 | to meet with the brand okay yeah they |
| 00:05:57 | 00:06:00 | were they were right there so i was like |
| 00:05:59 | 00:06:03 | oh might as well |
| 00:06:00 | 00:06:05 | yeah so um |
| 00:06:03 | 00:06:07 | okay during that conversation where you |
| 00:06:05 | 00:06:09 | were asking if if they would authorize |
| 00:06:07 | 00:06:10 | you to become a wholesaler |
| 00:06:09 | 00:06:13 | what was their response to that was |
| 00:06:10 | 00:06:14 | there any hesitations as i know |
| 00:06:13 | 00:06:16 | what i'm learning through the program |
| 00:06:14 | 00:06:19 | the twf program |
| 00:06:16 | 00:06:20 | is that oftentimes more people say no |
| 00:06:19 | 00:06:24 | than yes |
| 00:06:20 | 00:06:25 | simply because they already have people |
| 00:06:24 | 00:06:27 | selling their products on amazon and |
| 00:06:25 | 00:06:29 | oftentimes they don't have the best |
| 00:06:27 | 00:06:32 | experience with amazon sellers |
| 00:06:29 | 00:06:33 | and so the key is to not just accept a |
| 00:06:32 | 00:06:35 | no |
| 00:06:33 | 00:06:37 | not to accept the no the first time at |
| 00:06:35 | 00:06:39 | least and to turn that no into a yes |
| 00:06:37 | 00:06:40 | so did you have that experience with the |
| 00:06:39 | 00:06:42 | first uh wholesale account that you |
| 00:06:40 | 00:06:44 | tried to land |
| 00:06:42 | 00:06:47 | well well the first one no because they |
| 00:06:44 | 00:06:50 | it was a yes right away which is |
| 00:06:47 | 00:06:52 | not always the best either because if |
| 00:06:50 | 00:06:54 | they say yes to everyone then |
| 00:06:52 | 00:06:56 | then there is way too many people uh |
| 00:06:54 | 00:06:59 | which kind of was my experience with my |
| 00:06:56 | 00:07:01 | first wholesale account because |
| 00:06:59 | 00:07:03 | you know they were making maybe the |
| 00:07:01 | 00:07:04 | brand was selling maybe a hundred |
| 00:07:03 | 00:07:07 | thousand |
| 00:07:04 | 00:07:10 | uh a year on amazon across |
| 00:07:07 | 00:07:11 | their their whole brand and so it's it |
| 00:07:10 | 00:07:12 | wasn't that much |
| 00:07:11 | 00:07:14 | but they had a bunch of different |
| 00:07:12 | 00:07:18 | sellers already on it |
| 00:07:14 | 00:07:18 | um so so then |
| 00:07:18 | 00:07:22 | then it became how can i become the |
| 00:07:21 | 00:07:26 | exclusive seller and then |
| 00:07:22 | 00:07:28 | that was to find ways to |
| 00:07:26 | 00:07:29 | increase the value my my value to them |
| 00:07:28 | 00:07:31 | um |
| 00:07:29 | 00:07:32 | and that's that's that's what we did |
| 00:07:31 | 00:07:35 | that's great |
| 00:07:32 | 00:07:36 | and so then um how many wholesale |
| 00:07:35 | 00:07:38 | accounts |
| 00:07:36 | 00:07:40 | did you land after that or did you just |
| 00:07:38 | 00:07:41 | have this one account because i know |
| 00:07:40 | 00:07:44 | that you've reached the seven figure |
| 00:07:41 | 00:07:46 | mark with your wholesale business |
| 00:07:44 | 00:07:48 | right so i mean i reached the seven |
| 00:07:46 | 00:07:52 | figure with just that one account |
| 00:07:48 | 00:07:55 | oh wow but overall i mean |
| 00:07:52 | 00:07:57 | i'm gonna say a couple dozen i guess or |
| 00:07:55 | 00:07:58 | maybe more than that it's just because |
| 00:07:57 | 00:08:00 | they come and go |
| 00:07:58 | 00:08:02 | you know sometimes you buy you land the |
| 00:08:00 | 00:08:05 | account you buy products and then |
| 00:08:02 | 00:08:08 | you're like oh maybe my cash is better |
| 00:08:05 | 00:08:10 | placed in other products or other brands |
| 00:08:08 | 00:08:11 | or you know so it really depends but |
| 00:08:10 | 00:08:14 | landing accounts yeah it's |
| 00:08:11 | 00:08:17 | it's been quite a few right right so |
| 00:08:14 | 00:08:19 | so with that brand you were able to get |
| 00:08:17 | 00:08:22 | it to seven figures in revenue |
| 00:08:19 | 00:08:24 | and my understanding is was it with that |
| 00:08:22 | 00:08:26 | account that you later sold |
| 00:08:24 | 00:08:28 | the license to the wholesale account for |
| 00:08:26 | 00:08:31 | four hundred thousand dollars |
| 00:08:28 | 00:08:33 | that's correct that's correct so um |
| 00:08:31 | 00:08:35 | yeah go ahead so well tell us about that |

| 00:08:35 | 00:08:38 | i don't know anything about selling a |
| 00:08:36 | 00:08:40 | wholesale type of business i know |
| 00:08:38 | 00:08:41 | something about selling a private label |
| 00:08:40 | 00:08:44 | business which is very |
| 00:08:41 | 00:08:45 | different in my opinion so what was that |
| 00:08:44 | 00:08:47 | process like |
| 00:08:45 | 00:08:49 | i mean it's pretty close i would say |
| 00:08:47 | 00:08:52 | than selling a private label |
| 00:08:49 | 00:08:53 | uh account it's just the you're selling |
| 00:08:52 | 00:08:55 | the rights of |
| 00:08:53 | 00:08:56 | the of the contract pretty much that you |
| 00:08:55 | 00:08:59 | have |
| 00:08:56 | 00:09:00 | for the wholesale um but it's kind of |
| 00:08:59 | 00:09:01 | valued the |
| 00:09:00 | 00:09:05 | can you value the same way then you |
| 00:09:01 | 00:09:07 | would value like a private label |
| 00:09:05 | 00:09:09 | business uh but so to take them from |
| 00:09:07 | 00:09:12 | like a hundred thousand to |
| 00:09:09 | 00:09:14 | over a million it was all about like |
| 00:09:12 | 00:09:16 | optimization and and |
| 00:09:14 | 00:09:18 | all the things that private label |
| 00:09:16 | 00:09:22 | sellers would know how to do |
| 00:09:18 | 00:09:25 | pretty much like optimizing listings ads |
| 00:09:22 | 00:09:25 | you know all um all that kind of things |
| 00:09:25 | 00:09:28 | um |
| 00:09:25 | 00:09:29 | so that's what that's what we i mean i |
| 00:09:28 | 00:09:32 | say we because |
| 00:09:29 | 00:09:34 | obviously i had like vas and and build a |
| 00:09:32 | 00:09:36 | team and all that |
| 00:09:34 | 00:09:38 | and that's what's interesting is |
| 00:09:36 | 00:09:40 | actually i still get paid every month |
| 00:09:38 | 00:09:43 | from that account because |
| 00:09:40 | 00:09:46 | i sold it for 400 000 but then |
| 00:09:43 | 00:09:48 | the new owner contracted me to |
| 00:09:48 | 00:09:54 | manage it so oh wow still yields |
| 00:09:52 | 00:09:55 | so when you first landed the wholesale |
| 00:09:54 | 00:09:57 | account you were doing |
| 00:09:55 | 00:09:59 | you know maybe not first but eventually |
| 00:09:57 | 00:10:01 | you were doing hundreds of thousands of |
| 00:09:59 | 00:10:01 | dollars but to scale to the seven figure |
| 00:10:01 | 00:10:03 | mark |
| 00:10:01 | 00:10:05 | that's what required you to kind of |
| 00:10:03 | 00:10:07 | invest into |
| 00:10:05 | 00:10:09 | this brand and share with them the value |
| 00:10:07 | 00:10:11 | that you bring by optimization so |
| 00:10:09 | 00:10:13 | optimizing the listing |
| 00:10:11 | 00:10:14 | optimizing maybe like the photos and |
| 00:10:13 | 00:10:16 | just i guess more like |
| 00:10:14 | 00:10:17 | even just basic like hey like this |
| 00:10:16 | 00:10:20 | listing is |
| 00:10:17 | 00:10:20 | not good at all let's like let's fix |
| 00:10:20 | 00:10:22 | this |
| 00:10:20 | 00:10:23 | and so that was it was it just that or |

| 00:10:23 | 00:10:28 | do anything else to really get it to |
| 00:10:25 | 00:10:30 | that it was a couple things |
| 00:10:28 | 00:10:32 | um so what we did is well like you said |

| 00:10:32 | 00:10:36 | and all this all this stuff uh that we |

| 00:10:39 | 00:10:44 | multiple flavors because they only had |
| 00:10:42 | 00:10:47 | the assorted before on amazon |
| 00:10:44 | 00:10:49 | and so it was such a waste of space uh |
| 00:10:47 | 00:10:51 | so we added all the lines and we added |
| 00:10:49 | 00:10:55 | multiple counts for them |
| 00:10:51 | 00:10:57 | um so that people can |
| 00:10:55 | 00:10:59 | can purchase different styles or for |
| 00:10:57 | 00:11:01 | their event or |
| 00:10:59 | 00:11:02 | weddings or birthdays or you know baby |
| 00:11:01 | 00:11:05 | showers all that |
| 00:11:02 | 00:11:06 | and so that's that's what it looks like |

| 00:11:06 | 00:11:10 | and uh we did this for them just |
| 00:11:08 | 00:11:13 | explaining what the brand is |
| 00:11:10 | 00:11:15 | um and uh that looks great super |
| 00:11:13 | 00:11:17 | professional |
| 00:11:15 | 00:11:18 | so let's um that's what it looks like |

| 00:11:18 | 00:11:23 | it's not super complex you know to get |
| 00:11:20 | 00:11:24 | there but as soon as we were able to |
| 00:11:23 | 00:11:26 | show them that then we got better |

| 00:11:26 | 00:11:30 | invest in advertising more and then grow |
| 00:11:28 | 00:11:32 | the brand even more |
| 00:11:30 | 00:11:34 | and then the more we grew the more they |
| 00:11:32 | 00:11:37 | were trusting us |
| 00:11:34 | 00:11:40 | to do more things and we released more |
| 00:11:37 | 00:11:41 | uh live product lines more products all |
| 00:11:40 | 00:11:43 | this stuff that you would do in private |
| 00:11:41 | 00:11:45 | label as well but you can do for |
| 00:11:43 | 00:11:46 | other brands so how does the buy box |
| 00:11:45 | 00:11:50 | work when you |
| 00:11:46 | 00:11:52 | are an authorized uh reseller |
| 00:11:50 | 00:11:53 | well for this one it's we have |
| 00:11:52 | 00:11:56 | exclusivity so |
| 00:11:53 | 00:11:58 | it's only it's only uh so it works the |
| 00:11:56 | 00:12:00 | same way than the private label |
| 00:11:58 | 00:12:01 | model right but if let's say there is |
| 00:12:00 | 00:12:04 | multiple sellers here |
| 00:12:01 | 00:12:06 | on this product uh so you land you land |
| 00:12:04 | 00:12:09 | an account and there is multiple product |
| 00:12:06 | 00:12:11 | multiple sellers usually you're gonna |

| 00:12:11 | 00:12:15 | this is the buy box right here and |
| 00:12:13 | 00:12:16 | you're gonna you're gonna be featured |

| 00:12:16 | 00:12:19 | um a portion of the time so let's say |

| 00:12:19 | 00:12:23 | four other sellers twenty percent of the |

| 00:12:23 | 00:12:26 | you're gonna be featured in there so if |

| 00:12:26 | 00:12:30 | a hundred units a month let's say i'm |
| 00:12:28 | 00:12:33 | trying to make it easy |
| 00:12:30 | 00:12:35 | uh then your share is gonna be 20 sales |
| 00:12:33 | 00:12:36 | right okay yeah most of the time that's |
| 00:12:35 | 00:12:39 | what it's gonna be |
| 00:12:36 | 00:12:41 | it changes you know the algorithm of |
| 00:12:39 | 00:12:42 | amazon is a black box so sometimes |
| 00:12:41 | 00:12:44 | we don't really know what's happening |
| 00:12:42 | 00:12:47 | but most of the time that's what happens |
| 00:12:44 | 00:12:49 | very interesting and so what's the the |
| 00:12:47 | 00:12:52 | average profit margin for |
| 00:12:49 | 00:12:56 | this type of business for um |
| 00:12:52 | 00:12:59 | this type of business it for for this |
| 00:12:56 | 00:13:00 | it's between 15 and 25 um depending on |
