00:00:00 00:00:04 what's up everyone carter here and in
00:00:02 00:00:05 this video i'm gonna break down exactly
00:00:04 00:00:07 how i turned ten thousand dollars into
00:00:05 00:00:09 over a hundred thousand dollars at age
00:00:07 00:00:11 twenty now this is actually video number
00:00:09 00:00:13 two in a two-part video series that i
00:00:11 00:00:16 created in video number one i toked
00:00:13 00:00:18 about how i turned 25 into over ten
00:00:16 00:00:19 thousand dollars at age 16. if you
00:00:18 00:00:21 haven't seen that video there'll be a
00:00:19 00:00:22 link in the description of this video so
00:00:21 00:00:24 definitely check that one out first
00:00:22 00:00:28 however in this video i'm sharing my
00:00:24 00:00:32 entire journey from age 17 to 20 every
00:00:28 00:00:33 business company side hustle ones that
00:00:32 00:00:35 were a success and ones that were a
00:00:33 00:00:37 complete failure and i hope that by
00:00:35 00:00:39 creating this video and putting my story
00:00:37 00:00:41 out there that i can hopefully inspire
00:00:39 00:00:43 other people around the world that you
00:00:41 00:00:45 too can financially change your life
00:00:43 00:00:47 even at a young age so if you can do me
00:00:45 00:00:48 a quick favor and smash that like button
00:00:47 00:00:50 and let's go ahead and get right into
00:00:48 00:00:52 the video so here's the story of my
00:00:50 00:00:55 journey from age 17 to age 20. so let's
00:00:52 00:00:57 splash back to 17 year old carter here i
00:00:55 00:00:59 am approaching my junior year have a net
00:00:57 00:01:01 worth of you know maybe around ten
00:00:59 00:01:04 thousand dollars and all that money had
00:01:01 00:01:06 been accumulated over the past six or
00:01:04 00:01:09 seven years just from different side
00:01:06 00:01:11 hustles companies ventures really kind
00:01:09 00:01:12 of getting my feet wet in a bunch of
00:01:11 00:01:14 different industries
00:01:12 00:01:17 websites trying to find a way that where
00:01:14 00:01:19 i could create a stream of income now
00:01:17 00:01:22 some of those businesses consisted of
00:01:19 00:01:25 selling candy at school reselling random
00:01:22 00:01:27 used items on ebay selling books on
00:01:25 00:01:29 amazon a phone case business a t-shirt
00:01:27 00:01:31 to business a bunch of different side
00:01:29 00:01:33 hustles so here i am at 17 and i have a
00:01:31 00:01:36 little bit more money to work with which
00:01:33 00:01:38 means i can take a little bit bigger
00:01:36 00:01:41 risk the bigger the risk often the
00:01:38 00:01:44 bigger reward or potentially the bigger
00:01:41 00:01:46 loss now from age 17 to age 18 there
00:01:44 00:01:48 were a few different major businesses
00:01:46 00:01:50 that i was involved in one of those was
00:01:48 00:01:52 obviously my amazon business there were
00:01:50 00:01:55 a few different ways that i was able to
00:01:52 00:01:57 create income on amazon one was selling
00:01:55 00:01:59 used books buying books at thrift stores
00:01:57 00:02:01 library sales sometimes garage sales you
00:01:59 00:02:02 know from a dollar to two dollars per
00:02:01 00:02:04 book and sometimes i would sell these
00:02:02 00:02:06 books on amazon for you know fifteen to
00:02:04 00:02:08 twenty dollars upwards of fifty to sixty
00:02:06 00:02:10 dollars plus sometimes so obviously a
00:02:08 00:02:12 great business especially when you're
00:02:10 00:02:14 working with such high margins and i was
00:02:12 00:02:17 experimenting with other items as well
00:02:14 00:02:19 electronics video games i started to get
00:02:17 00:02:21 into toys and then i also tried a
00:02:19 00:02:23 different business model known as
00:02:21 00:02:25 private label now with the private label
00:02:23 00:02:27 business model you're essentially taking
00:02:25 00:02:29 a generic product let's say this tape
00:02:27 00:02:32 gun and you're taking this generic tape
00:02:29 00:02:34 gun and you're putting your branded logo
00:02:32 00:02:36 on it so you're branding this generic
00:02:34 00:02:38 product with your brand and then
00:02:36 00:02:40 reselling it back on amazon for a marked
00:02:38 00:02:42 up price now this was a really cool
00:02:40 00:02:44 business model it did require more
00:02:42 00:02:47 capital because you often have to place
00:02:44 00:02:49 bulk orders from overseas so obviously
00:02:47 00:02:51 the more units that you order the lower
00:02:49 00:02:53 price you're gonna have to pay per unit
00:02:51 00:02:55 now long story short my first two or
00:02:53 00:02:58 three products with this business were a
00:02:55 00:03:00 complete failure lost probably a
00:02:58 00:03:02 thousand two thousand dollars on each
00:03:00 00:03:05 item i had a phone case that failed had
00:03:02 00:03:06 some kitchen utensils that fail just not
00:03:05 00:03:08 doing the proper product research and
00:03:06 00:03:10 also just not really knowing what i'm
00:03:08 00:03:13 doing and truth be told there just
00:03:10 00:03:15 wasn't as much resources there wasn't as
00:03:13 00:03:18 much selling on amazon content out there
00:03:15 00:03:20 years ago compared to today however i
00:03:18 00:03:23 ended up finding an item i was able to
00:03:20 00:03:25 buy for i believe it was maybe like a
00:03:23 00:03:26 dollar eighty or maybe two dollars per
00:03:25 00:03:29 unit and i was selling it for twelve
00:03:26 00:03:31 dollars on amazon over the next two two
00:03:29 00:03:33 and a half years i sold over a hundred
00:03:31 00:03:35 thousand dollars worth of that item i'm
00:03:33 00:03:37 always that's not all profit that's
00:03:35 00:03:38 revenue but it was really cool to be
00:03:37 00:03:40 able to have a product that was
00:03:38 00:03:42 successful after i had two or three that
00:03:40 00:03:44 failed and lost me a good portion of
00:03:42 00:03:46 income now business number two that
00:03:44 00:03:49 ended up being a huge income generator
00:03:46 00:03:51 for me mainly later on in this video was
00:03:49 00:03:53 social media when i was running my
00:03:51 00:03:56 amazon business doing these different
00:03:53 00:03:57 side hustles i always wanted to be like
00:03:56 00:03:58 a youtuber like every kid grows up i
00:03:57 00:04:00 want to be the next youtuber
00:03:58 00:04:03 entertainment and it was meant to be
00:04:00 00:04:05 that i was gonna create content related
00:04:03 00:04:08 to finances and selling stuff on ebay
00:04:05 00:04:10 and amazon and so i started my instagram
00:04:08 00:04:12 and my youtube both around the same time
00:04:10 00:04:14 building out a personal brand i actually
00:04:12 00:04:16 was known as the high school hustler and
00:04:14 00:04:17 i would just start documenting my
00:04:16 00:04:20 journey i was creating videos and
00:04:17 00:04:23 content just sharing my story sharing my
00:04:20 00:04:25 successes my failures documenting my
00:04:23 00:04:27 journey and when i first started for the
00:04:25 00:04:32 first year year and a half i mean i made
00:04:27 00:04:35 zero zero nil zero dollars on instagram
00:04:32 00:04:37 and youtube i just i wasn't currently
00:04:35 00:04:38 monetized on youtube because i wasn't 18
00:04:37 00:04:40 at the time i should have been getting
00:04:38 00:04:44 paid youtube ad revenue a long story
00:04:40 00:04:46 short i put in a lot of time and energy
00:04:44 00:04:48 creating valuable content content that
00:04:46 00:04:50 can positively or financially change
00:04:48 00:04:52 someone's life but i did a lot i built
00:04:50 00:04:54 out a great foundation later on this
00:04:52 00:04:56 video you'll see where that social media
00:04:54 00:04:58 comes into play as a nice stream of
00:04:56 00:05:00 income for myself so here we are i just
00:04:58 00:05:02 turned age 18 you know through the
00:05:00 00:05:05 different side hustles that i had amazon
00:05:02 00:05:06 business a couple other businesses i was
00:05:05 00:05:08 still running from the past i would say
00:05:06 00:05:12 i got my net worth anywhere from
00:05:08 00:05:14 probably 20 to 25 000 now at age 18 this
00:05:12 00:05:16 is my senior year in high school so i'm
00:05:14 00:05:18 in 12th grade this is where things start
00:05:16 00:05:21 to pick up a little bit i had just hit
00:05:18 00:05:23 10 000 subscribers on youtube so this
00:05:21 00:05:26 was a huge milestone for me i had
00:05:23 00:05:28 probably posted over 150 videos on that
00:05:26 00:05:30 channel and the cool thing is the videos
00:05:28 00:05:32 on youtube can get views forever i could
00:05:30 00:05:34 have posted a video two years ago and it
00:05:32 00:05:37 can still be getting views today now on
00:05:34 00:05:39 youtube you can also generate ad revenue
00:05:37 00:05:41 depending on the kind of content you're
00:05:39 00:05:42 creating the kind of industry you're in
00:05:41 00:05:43 in the amount of views that you're
00:05:42 00:05:46 getting you'll be able to receive ad
00:05:43 00:05:48 revenue so at that time i was making
00:05:46 00:05:50 every single month maybe four to five
00:05:48 00:05:52 hundred dollars in ad revenue every
00:05:50 00:05:55 single month and it was a great
00:05:52 00:05:57 hands-off passive stream of income for
00:05:55 00:05:58 me and it's around that time i also
00:05:57 00:06:00 started the business of affiliate
00:05:58 00:06:01 marketing now for those of you that
00:06:00 00:06:03 don't know what affiliate marketing is
00:06:01 00:06:06 it's essentially the promotion of
00:06:03 00:06:07 another brand's or company's product or
00:06:06 00:06:09 service in exchange for every sale that
00:06:07 00:06:11 you make you'll actually receive a
00:06:09 00:06:12 commission or a kickback so with
00:06:11 00:06:14 affiliate marketing there were different
00:06:12 00:06:16 ways that i approached it i decided you
00:06:14 00:06:17 know what this is a cool business model
00:06:16 00:06:19 let me try first time i or the first
00:06:17 00:06:22 affiliate marketing offer i created was
00:06:19 00:06:24 to promote an amazon software called
00:06:22 00:06:26 jungle scout now i actually used jungle
00:06:24 00:06:27 scout i had great success with it was
00:06:26 00:06:29 how i did all my product research so i
00:06:27 00:06:30 said you know what let me just create a
00:06:29 00:06:33 quick tutorial and i put up a quick
00:06:30 00:06:34 video kind of a demo showing off how the
00:06:33 00:06:36 software worked and what all it did i
00:06:34 00:06:38 said hey if you guys are interested in
00:06:36 00:06:40 joining and subscribing jumbo scout use
00:06:38 00:06:41 the link in the description every time
00:06:40 00:06:43 someone go through the link and purchase
00:06:41 00:06:45 the general scout extension you know i
00:06:43 00:06:47 would receive a commission now i also
00:06:45 00:06:49 did this with a good friend of mine's
00:06:47 00:06:51 course now i had been creating a lot of
00:06:49 00:06:52 content on a bunch of different subjects
00:06:51 00:06:54 and my ebay videos were getting a lot of
00:06:52 00:06:56 views i had someone reach out to me hey
00:06:54 00:06:58 i saw you creating a lot of valuable
00:06:56 00:07:00 content about making money on ebay i
00:06:58 00:07:02 have a course all about helping people
00:07:00 00:07:04 get started making money on ebay maybe
00:07:02 00:07:06 it could be a cool offer to offer your
00:07:04 00:07:07 audience if they want to learn a little
00:07:06 00:07:09 bit more in depth so i said sure so i
00:07:07 00:07:11 basically would create an ebay video at
00:07:09 00:07:12 the end of the video i would plug this
00:07:11 00:07:14 guy's course and he would give me a
00:07:12 00:07:16 kickback that ended up turning into a
00:07:14 00:07:18 really nice stream of income as well so
00:07:16 00:07:21 obviously at age 18 there's still a lot
00:07:18 00:07:22 going outside of my life outside of the
00:07:21 00:07:24 business i'm a full-time high school
00:07:22 00:07:26 student you know i try to be a social
00:07:24 00:07:29 kid i'm on the varsity basketball team i
00:07:26 00:07:30 have a lot of passion in basketball
00:07:29 00:07:34 those who don't know basketball was huge
00:07:30 00:07:36 for me i was probably 50 basketball 50
00:07:34 00:07:37 business just because after i graduate
00:07:36 00:07:38 you know i'm not playing at the next
00:07:37 00:07:40 level you know there'll still be
00:07:38 00:07:42 opportunities for me to make money so i
00:07:40 00:07:44 obviously wanted to make sure that i
00:07:42 00:07:46 really got the best out of my senior
00:07:44 00:07:48 year of basketball i had a great season
00:07:46 00:07:50 a great year and then i graduated so i
00:07:48 00:07:53 graduated and all of a sudden
00:07:50 00:07:57 school's done my basketball career is
00:07:53 00:07:59 done and i have all this time a lot more
00:07:57 00:08:01 time than i usually have my birthday's
00:07:59 00:08:03 in the middle of the summer and
00:08:01 00:08:05 throughout that summer when i turned 19
00:08:03 00:08:07 there was a lot of vacations and a lot
00:08:05 00:08:09 of a little bit of stress too i was
00:08:07 00:08:12 trying to figure out what was the next
00:08:09 00:08:13 step for me and for most people out of
00:08:12 00:08:15 high school
00:08:13 00:08:17 college is the next step like no doubt
00:08:15 00:08:20 you get good grades all year and you get
00:08:17 00:08:22 good s.a.t and act scores so you can get
00:08:20 00:08:24 accepted into the college that you like
00:08:22 00:08:26 and for me it was just i never really a
00:08:24 00:08:28 big focus i never did too well in school
00:08:26 00:08:30 i didn't do good on the act i didn't
00:08:28 00:08:32 really have many options when it came to
00:08:30 00:08:34 college and basically that summer i just
00:08:32 00:08:36 enjoyed that time with my high school
00:08:34 00:08:38 friends before i entered kind of the
00:08:36 00:08:41 next step in my life i didn't really
00:08:38 00:08:44 have any massive jumps in my business
00:08:41 00:08:46 just very consistent growth not stagnant
00:08:44 00:08:50 but not any crazy increases by any means
00:08:46 00:08:53 so i turned 19 that summer in july i'm
00:08:50 00:08:54 going to community college i had a
00:08:53 00:08:56 couple of friends that were going to a
00:08:54 00:08:57 big university there's a community
00:08:56 00:08:59 college right next to it i said you know
00:08:57 00:09:02 what i don't really know what i want to
00:08:59 00:09:04 do college was something that my parents
00:09:02 00:09:06 and my grandparents at least the kids in
00:09:04 00:09:08 my school everyone was pushing it on to
00:09:06 00:09:10 you at least where i grew up college was
00:09:08 00:09:11 a for sure thing okay after you graduate
00:09:10 00:09:13 you're going to college and you're going
00:09:11 00:09:14 to get a degree and with that degree
00:09:13 00:09:15 you're going to get a job and you're
00:09:14 00:09:18 going to work that job as long as you
00:09:15 00:09:19 can to have a stable income for your
00:09:18 00:09:21 future family which obviously makes
00:09:19 00:09:22 sense and everyone wants a stable income
00:09:21 00:09:24 but
00:09:22 00:09:28 it was just far from the truth and that
00:09:24 00:09:29 first year just showed me that i think i
00:09:28 00:09:31 need to do something a little bit
00:09:29 00:09:32 different with my life so i know i'm
00:09:31 00:09:34 going a little bit off track kind of
00:09:32 00:09:36 getting more into my personal life and
00:09:34 00:09:37 not so much the business stuff but the
00:09:36 00:09:39 reason i want to tell you about my
00:09:37 00:09:41 personal life what i'm going through is
00:09:39 00:09:42 you know a lot of people might be going
00:09:41 00:09:44 what i'm going through maybe they feel
00:09:42 00:09:45 like college isn't for them maybe
00:09:44 00:09:47 they're struggling on what they're going
00:09:45 00:09:48 to do after they graduate high school
00:09:47 00:09:50 when they graduate college and i just
00:09:48 00:09:52 want to let people know it's totally
00:09:50 00:09:53 okay so long story short i enter
00:09:52 00:09:55 community college it's a great time
00:09:53 00:09:57 you're in college it's a college town
00:09:55 00:10:00 there's tons of college kids around
00:09:57 00:10:01 there's parties and girls and just all
00:10:00 00:10:03 these distractions that come with
00:10:01 00:10:05 college all the freedom you decide when
00:10:03 00:10:07 you want to go to bed when you want to
00:10:05 00:10:09 win just a lot of freedom that i usually
00:10:07 00:10:11 wasn't used to so obviously i had a lot
00:10:09 00:10:13 of fun you know i was living with three
00:10:11 00:10:14 other guys now the rent was fairly cheap
00:10:13 00:10:16 my parents were paying the rent because
00:10:14 00:10:18 they agreed if i go to college you know
00:10:16 00:10:20 they'll pay for their community college
00:10:18 00:10:21 classes and my rent as well so didn't
00:10:20 00:10:24 have to pay any rent at that time a few
00:10:21 00:10:26 months go by in school it starts getting
00:10:24 00:10:27 tough it's a lot tougher than high
00:10:26 00:10:29 school classes are a little bit more
00:10:27 00:10:31 difficult and it starts building a
00:10:29 00:10:32 little bit more pressure on me and i'm
00:10:31 00:10:34 never focusing on the lectures they were
00:10:32 00:10:36 teaching all these different subjects i
00:10:34 00:10:37 wasn't interested in i was always on my
00:10:36 00:10:39 computer trying to make money so i would
00:10:37 00:10:40 never pay attention i was cheating and
00:10:39 00:10:42 it just really got to me so you know the
00:10:40 00:10:44 next couple months leading up to like
00:10:42 00:10:46 the second half of the semester my
00:10:44 00:10:48 business was very very stagnant it was a
00:10:46 00:10:49 little bit uncomfortable trying to run a
00:10:48 00:10:51 business you know with other people in
00:10:49 00:10:54 the house and trying to create content
00:10:51 00:10:55 when the wall right behind me my friends
00:10:54 00:10:58 trying to sleep it was just a little bit
00:10:55 00:11:00 of an awkward situation my business it
00:10:58 00:11:02 felt like it was slipping my youtube
00:11:00 00:11:04 channel my amazon business everything
00:11:02 00:11:06 that came into with call just making it
00:11:04 00:11:08 more difficult my time was limited there
00:11:06 00:11:11 were more distractions in january kind
00:11:08 00:11:12 of the second semester went through a
00:11:11 00:11:14 heartbreak in the next month you know my
00:11:12 00:11:16 uncle passed away and it was just a lot
00:11:14 00:11:18 was going on and then there was a
00:11:16 00:11:21 turning point in my life and in this
00:11:18 00:11:25 story and that's coded so in march of
00:11:21 00:11:27 2020 covid hits now it was an extremely
00:11:25 00:11:29 extremely tough time for me and you know
00:11:27 00:11:30 for people all around the world people
00:11:29 00:11:32 didn't know what was going on i lived in
00:11:30 00:11:34 a house with three other guys they all
00:11:32 00:11:36 moved back home i decided to stay so i
00:11:34 00:11:38 was extremely lonely my businesses were
00:11:36 00:11:40 slipping school was kind of postponed
00:11:38 00:11:42 and then i stumbled across an
00:11:40 00:11:44 opportunity now i'm still running my
00:11:42 00:11:46 amazon business always trying to find
00:11:44 00:11:47 new products and i was surfing through
00:11:46 00:11:49 offer up which is based like a
00:11:47 00:11:51 craigslist to buy and sell local
00:11:49 00:11:54 marketplace and i saw someone was
00:11:51 00:11:56 selling this vitamin c pack for 25 i was
00:11:54 00:11:58 like that's weird people are selling
00:11:56 00:12:01 vitamins locally okay maybe people want
00:11:58 00:12:03 them and so i search it back up selling
00:12:01 00:12:05 for 27 on amazon i didn't think much
00:12:03 00:12:06 about it my brain didn't connect like
00:12:05 00:12:09 hey maybe you should try to figure out
00:12:06 00:12:10 where they're buying this item from her
00:12:09 00:12:12 or if you can get it for a low price the
00:12:10 00:12:14 craziest thing happens so i go to my
00:12:12 00:12:15 local grocery store and i'm getting my
00:12:14 00:12:17 groceries for the week i was getting
00:12:15 00:12:18 protein powder so i was getting protein
00:12:17 00:12:20 powder so i'm in kind of like the hell
00:12:18 00:12:23 file with the vitamins and as i'm
00:12:20 00:12:26 walking by i see that exact vitamin c
00:12:23 00:12:27 packet on the shelf and i look at the
00:12:26 00:12:29 price
00:12:27 00:12:32 9.97
00:12:29 00:12:33 so i was like what i can get it here for
00:12:32 00:12:36 9.97
00:12:33 00:12:39 and that lady was selling it for 25
00:12:36 00:12:40 on offer up let me scan it on amazon and
00:12:39 00:12:43 see what it's selling for so i scanned
00:12:40 00:12:45 the barcode and the lowest price was 27
00:12:43 00:12:48 on amazon i'm like okay that's a little
00:12:45 00:12:50 bit strange so i buy one single unit i
00:12:48 00:12:52 go home i list it 20 minutes later it
00:12:50 00:12:54 sells i ship it out i make eight to nine
00:12:52 00:12:56 dollar profit after shipping and fees
00:12:54 00:12:58 i'm like okay time to go buy more i had
00:12:56 00:13:00 found this item that was in high demand
00:12:58 00:13:03 people around the world were in need of
00:13:00 00:13:04 vitamin c of vitamins and i was taking
00:13:03 00:13:06 the risk to go out with cob and
00:13:04 00:13:08 everything going on buy as many vitamins
00:13:06 00:13:09 as i could after i sold that one unit i
00:13:08 00:13:11 went right back to the store and i
00:13:09 00:13:13 bought 20. sold them within a day
00:13:11 00:13:15 cleared out my city and i started going
00:13:13 00:13:17 to the biggest cities in my state buying
00:13:15 00:13:19 hundreds of vitamins was scanning
00:13:17 00:13:21 everything that vitamin i was founding
00:13:19 00:13:22 different flavors variations different
00:13:21 00:13:25 kind of vitamins that people were in
00:13:22 00:13:27 need of i started buying hundreds of
00:13:25 00:13:29 these i would come back to my place and
00:13:27 00:13:30 unload them and sometimes 70 to 80
00:13:29 00:13:33 orders a day because i would restok
00:13:30 00:13:35 with 300 400 units i would have or six
00:13:33 00:13:37 thousand dollar days sometimes i would
00:13:35 00:13:39 restok just because they would just
00:13:37 00:13:41 sell almost insulin you i could barely
00:13:39 00:13:42 keep them in stok and long story short
00:13:41 00:13:45 it led me to having a forty three
00:13:42 00:13:47 thousand dollar month on amazon which
00:13:45 00:13:49 changed my life and gave me a lot more
00:13:47 00:13:51 confidence when i was down also at that
00:13:49 00:13:53 time i started putting more money into
00:13:51 00:13:55 the stok market or investing into some
00:13:53 00:13:57 publicly traded companies that i had a
00:13:55 00:13:59 lot of faith in i know tesla amazon
00:13:57 00:14:00 companies that i used and i thought you
00:13:59 00:14:01 know what they have a good potential
00:14:00 00:14:03 long term now that i was starting to
00:14:01 00:14:05 generate a little bit more consistent
00:14:03 00:14:06 income i said you know what i'm either
00:14:05 00:14:07 going to reinvest this back in the
00:14:06 00:14:09 business or i'm going to put it in an
00:14:07 00:14:11 investment that has the opportunity to
00:14:09 00:14:14 make me more money now we're entering
00:14:11 00:14:17 the summer so that school year had ended
00:14:14 00:14:19 the vitamin hype kind of died down and
00:14:17 00:14:21 i'm approaching my 20th birthday and i
00:14:19 00:14:23 make the one of the biggest decisions of
00:14:21 00:14:25 my life and i tell my parents that i'm
00:14:23 00:14:28 dropping out of college from my family
00:14:25 00:14:30 and the kids that i grew up with college
00:14:28 00:14:32 was a for sure thing like if you didn't
00:14:30 00:14:33 go to college then people would think of
00:14:32 00:14:35 you as a loser people would think down
00:14:33 00:14:36 on you oh you're not going to college
00:14:35 00:14:38 how are you going to get a job how are
00:14:36 00:14:40 you going to be successful how do you be
00:14:38 00:14:41 able to financially support yourself or
00:14:40 00:14:44 at least a family in the future and it
00:14:41 00:14:46 was a really really emotional decision
00:14:44 00:14:47 for me and i love my parents by the way
00:14:46 00:14:49 and you know they're they're still super
00:14:47 00:14:50 super supportive now but it was just a
00:14:49 00:14:52 hard decision for me to make and for my
00:14:50 00:14:54 parents to understand grandparents to
00:14:52 00:14:56 understand even friends as well so here
00:14:54 00:14:58 i am just turned age 20 now that i'm no
00:14:56 00:15:00 longer in college my parents agreed you
00:14:58 00:15:02 need to start picking up the bills so i
00:15:00 00:15:04 move out find an apartment i'm paying my
00:15:02 00:15:06 own rent you know 900 a month you know
00:15:04 00:15:08 utilities and there's a lot of expenses
00:15:06 00:15:09 that i wasn't used to approaching summer
00:15:08 00:15:10 i'm going i'm going through some tough
00:15:09 00:15:13 times you know trying to find some new
00:15:10 00:15:14 items new side hustles then i approached
00:15:13 00:15:17 probably what really ends up changing my
00:15:14 00:15:18 life even more just like when cobot hit
00:15:17 00:15:20 i thought it was the end of the world i
00:15:18 00:15:21 thought that i was going to lose
00:15:20 00:15:23 everything the businesses were going to
00:15:21 00:15:27 tank ended up working well and i had
00:15:23 00:15:30 this very similar situation in september
00:15:27 00:15:32 2020 at that time i had sold probably
00:15:30 00:15:33 two to three hundred thousand dollars on
00:15:32 00:15:35 amazon i'm going to create you know a
00:15:33 00:15:37 beginner level entry course got a lot of
00:15:35 00:15:39 people messaging me oh carter how can i
00:15:37 00:15:41 sell on amazon and there's only so many
00:15:39 00:15:43 text messages video voice messages i can
00:15:41 00:15:45 send someone so i created a beginner
00:15:43 00:15:47 level course i signed with this agency
00:15:45 00:15:49 for six thousand dollars it was three
00:15:47 00:15:50 months they were going to help me do
00:15:49 00:15:52 this massive launch to my audience to
00:15:50 00:15:55 build this wait list and i did it and
00:15:52 00:15:57 right as the launch was happening i get
00:15:55 00:15:59 covered like there's just the absolute
00:15:57 00:16:01 worst timing and long story short the
00:15:59 00:16:02 launch goes awful so maybe fifteen
00:16:01 00:16:04 hundred dollars worth of courses so i
00:16:02 00:16:06 lose forty five hundred dollars on that
00:16:04 00:16:09 investment i have coveted for two weeks
00:16:06 00:16:12 living alone i'm just extremely
00:16:09 00:16:15 depressed i feel awful sweating at night
00:16:12 00:16:17 awful cough like it was it was bad it's
00:16:15 00:16:19 about late september and i hop on the
00:16:17 00:16:23 biggest opportunity of my life and that
00:16:19 00:16:25 opportunity was selling patio heaters on
00:16:23 00:16:27 amazon i did over a hundred forty
00:16:25 00:16:29 thousand dollars a month although some
00:16:27 00:16:31 images up there there was a massive
00:16:29 00:16:33 demand for outdoor patio heaters a lot
00:16:31 00:16:35 of restaurants because of coven had to
00:16:33 00:16:37 move their seating outside so they were
00:16:35 00:16:39 paying outrageous amounts and there was
00:16:37 00:16:40 just not enough supply of paddock
00:16:39 00:16:43 heaters especially as it was getting
00:16:40 00:16:45 colder and solid buying for 150 at
00:16:43 00:16:48 lowe's and sell them for 300 on amazon
00:16:45 00:16:50 the same day i was filling up 26 foot
00:16:48 00:16:52 trucks driving to the biggest cities
00:16:50 00:16:54 clearing out the entire city it was an
00:16:52 00:16:57 amazing amazing experience and during
00:16:54 00:16:58 that time i also had an online community
00:16:57 00:17:00 called the selling fast lane which is
00:16:58 00:17:02 another great business that i've run and
00:17:00 00:17:04 helped hundreds and hundreds of people
00:17:02 00:17:06 start their amazon businesses and that
00:17:04 00:17:07 community on discord i started posting
00:17:06 00:17:09 about the patio heaters and all of a
00:17:07 00:17:11 sudden while i was making money with
00:17:09 00:17:13 patio heaters the members of my discord
00:17:11 00:17:15 were also buying patio heaters from
00:17:13 00:17:17 lowe's home depot academy and making
00:17:15 00:17:18 thousands and thousands of dollars a
00:17:17 00:17:20 month so it was just an amazing
00:17:18 00:17:22 experience to be able to see my students
00:17:20 00:17:24 my members be able to make tons of money
00:17:22 00:17:25 on amazon i'm making tons of money on
00:17:24 00:17:28 amazon it was just a great time to be
00:17:25 00:17:29 alive and so with the help of the
00:17:28 00:17:31 community and with the help of the
00:17:29 00:17:33 members and the students and especially
00:17:31 00:17:35 the money from patio heaters it took my
00:17:33 00:17:39 net worth well over a hundred thousand
00:17:35 00:17:41 dollars and that is my story 17 to age
00:17:39 00:17:44 20. before we go any further there was a
00:17:41 00:17:45 few key takeaways from this three or
00:17:44 00:17:47 four year period that i quickly want to
00:17:45 00:17:50 tok about so the number one key
00:17:47 00:17:52 takeaway in my opinion was that you need
00:17:50 00:17:55 to have multiple streams of income the
00:17:52 00:17:57 reason being is i see one stream of
00:17:55 00:17:59 income as having all your eggs in one
00:17:57 00:18:02 basket it's just very risky it's like
00:17:59 00:18:03 having a job there can be an opportunity
00:18:02 00:18:05 where the business might fail or
00:18:03 00:18:07 something goes wrong or there's no more
00:18:05 00:18:08 demand for the product that your only
00:18:07 00:18:10 stream of income is gone so if you have
00:18:08 00:18:12 the opportunity to be able to try
00:18:10 00:18:14 different side hustles businesses build
00:18:12 00:18:15 other streams of income it could be as
00:18:14 00:18:17 simple as taking a little bit of money
00:18:15 00:18:18 from your paycheck or your business and
00:18:17 00:18:20 maybe putting it in the stok market or
00:18:18 00:18:21 i know a lot of people are putting money
00:18:20 00:18:23 into crypto right now just an
00:18:21 00:18:25 opportunity where you can hopefully
00:18:23 00:18:26 build other streams of income i think is
00:18:25 00:18:28 extremely important and that brings me
00:18:26 00:18:31 to step number two and this ultimately
00:18:28 00:18:33 comes with building long-term wealth is
00:18:31 00:18:36 to be able to find a way for your money
00:18:33 00:18:38 to make more money for you not the stok
00:18:36 00:18:40 market crypto those are two ways that i
00:18:38 00:18:42 was able to strategically place some of
00:18:40 00:18:44 the money that i have earned from my
00:18:42 00:18:46 side hustles and businesses where i
00:18:44 00:18:47 believe there could be long-term growth
00:18:46 00:18:49 and then all of a sudden that money is
00:18:47 00:18:52 collecting compound interest and making
00:18:49 00:18:53 me more money which long term grows over
00:18:52 00:18:56 time and can turn into another stream of
00:18:53 00:18:58 income and of course the third takeaway
00:18:56 00:19:01 and i say it all the time is to take
00:18:58 00:19:03 massive action i am an average person
00:19:01 00:19:05 there's nothing special about me never
00:19:03 00:19:07 got the best grades in school i've
00:19:05 00:19:09 dropped out of college i've made my fair
00:19:07 00:19:11 share of four decisions i've lost
00:19:09 00:19:13 thousands thousands tens of thousands of
00:19:11 00:19:15 dollars with bad business ventures side
00:19:13 00:19:17 hustles all i can say is that you must
00:19:15 00:19:20 always take massive action and i hope
00:19:17 00:19:21 that watching this video it can inspire
00:19:20 00:19:23 you like maybe i'm going to go out and
00:19:21 00:19:24 learn about these different side hustles
00:19:23 00:19:26 and want to find five or six that might
00:19:24 00:19:28 work for me and i'm gonna choose the
00:19:26 00:19:30 best one and i'm gonna put all my time
00:19:28 00:19:31 and energy and maybe a little bit of
00:19:30 00:19:33 money into learning that business and
00:19:31 00:19:35 just giving it all i have because a

00:19:39 00:19:43 going my way and i could have gave up
00:19:42 00:19:45 but i kept going and i kept pushing i
00:19:43 00:19:47 think that's the case for any business
00:19:45 00:19:49 out there that if you stay consistent
