00:01:45 | 00:01:48 | didn't realize is that net profit's the |
00:01:46 | 00:01:50 | thing that actually matters not the |
00:01:48 | 00:01:51 | gross revenue yep um and so i didn't |
00:01:50 | 00:01:53 | really keep a lot of 100 000 but it |
00:01:51 | 00:01:56 | really opened my eyes to the possibility |
00:01:53 | 00:01:57 | of econ yeah so from there |
00:01:56 | 00:01:59 | i decided okay i'm dropping out of |
00:01:57 | 00:02:00 | school i'm quitting my job i'm going all |
00:01:59 | 00:02:03 | in on this and i just decided to bet on |
00:02:00 | 00:02:05 | myself and that was like i said about |
00:02:03 | 00:02:07 | three and a half years ago i built up an |
00:02:05 | 00:02:08 | e-commerce brand sold that uh and then i |
00:02:07 | 00:02:10 | was kind of in a transitionary phase |
00:02:08 | 00:02:12 | where i wasn't super sure what i was |
00:02:10 | 00:02:13 | wanting to do and i had a couple of my |
00:02:12 | 00:02:15 | buddies that were in the ecommerce space |
00:02:13 | 00:02:17 | saying hey you know can you run our |
00:02:15 | 00:02:19 | email uh because i was doing that for |
00:02:17 | 00:02:21 | myself and that was a big way on how i |
00:02:19 | 00:02:22 | was making my ads profitable uh and so i |
00:02:21 | 00:02:24 | ran it for one friend and then he |
00:02:22 | 00:02:25 | recommended me to the next person and |
00:02:24 | 00:02:27 | they recommend it to me the next person |
00:02:25 | 00:02:28 | and before i knew it i had like four or |
00:02:27 | 00:02:30 | five people that i was doing email for |
00:02:28 | 00:02:32 | and i was like okay i guess this is a |
00:02:30 | 00:02:34 | this is it that's what i'm gonna go i'm |

00:02:43 | 00:02:47 | email marketing was it that like because |
00:02:45 | 00:02:49 | i i've heard that a lot with econ people |
00:02:47 | 00:02:51 | that they say hey we don't make |
00:02:49 | 00:02:52 | like you know with ads we're not |
00:02:51 | 00:02:54 | necessarily making profit but a lot of |
00:02:52 | 00:02:56 | our profit is coming with emails is that |
00:02:54 | 00:02:59 | the way you were going about it |
00:02:56 | 00:03:01 | yeah absolutely i i was not entirely |

00:06:13 | 00:06:18 | discount yeah okay yeah we like adding |

00:06:18 | 00:06:22 | percentage or a dollar amount then we |

00:06:45 | 00:06:50 | want to reduce those refunds if you can |
00:06:48 | 00:06:51 | at all yeah and then two you could go |

00:06:51 | 00:06:55 | insert some sort of a cross-sell so just |
00:06:53 | 00:06:57 | an additional product that you could go |
00:06:55 | 00:06:59 | through and sell so a lot of people |
00:06:57 | 00:07:00 | focus on the front-end conversion but |
00:06:59 | 00:07:02 | they don't focus on the back end |
00:07:00 | 00:07:04 | conversation got it right and so they're |
00:07:02 | 00:07:05 | just trying to get that initial purchase |
