How Much Can You Make Dropshipping in One Month

How Much Can You Make Dropshipping in One Month

all right guys so it is october 1st
which means i'm gonna break down the
profit report that my business did drop
shipping in the month of september okay
so i'll break it down in each specific
marketplace so we'll tok about the
profiles that i sold on on facebook
marketplace with personal profiles we'll
tok about my facebook shop specifically
we'll also tok about mercari poshmark
and amazon drop shipping as well all
right now full disclosure this was the
best month ever for my drop shipping
business i've been doing this for
i always i should probably write down
the number so i can literally say like
okay this is month six this is month
seven but i always just estimate it's
probably my like month five uh ish so
i'll have to go back and actually look
through this maybe it's month six i'm
not sure but there's profit reports for
every single month on this channel so
you can go back and see like the
progression of the business you know how
i scaled my thoughts in there different
challenges that kind of arose during
that month and how i kind of you know
got by them and maneuvered around them
and really just that way you can kind of
modify and and use those lessons to
scale your own drop shipping business
and take what you will from it and apply
it to yours right so let's just jump in
uh on facebook marketplace with personal
profiles in the month of september and i
was suspended
twice in the month of september i
believe one of them was a suspension on
my actual account so like my entire like
facebook account was in review which was
annoying and like i never seen that
before usually you just get like block
from marketplace um so the first one was
like an account review um just like over
my overall profile on one of my profiles
and that took for
like three days which is the longest one
i've ever had and then the other one was
probably like 12 to 14 hours so it's
like a day of like no sales wasn't
really a big deal right so i ended up
doing
353 sales in the month of september on
facebook marketplace personal profiles i
pulled in uh 15
dollars and 50 cents overall in sales
volume um i spent 10 968
10
900 and 68 cents to make to actually get
that right which comes out to a profit
of
and ninety five 4495.
and 82 cents for an average margin of 41
okay
so if we take the profit there
and let me pull up the calculator really
fast because i'm going to do this for
everyone except poshmark mercari and
i'll show you why here in a second so we
take the profit it's 4 495
and 82 cents and we divide that by 353
sales that is not the correct math it is
backwards let's try that again
4495 divided by 82. it comes out to an
average that is why is that why am i
doing that wrong
what the hell's going on here
yeah i had it right the first
time 82 divided by 353
yeah okay i don't know why it didn't
work the first time but i had it right
the first time so it comes out to an
average profit of
12.74 cents roughly per sale okay so
that's roughly what i'm about what i'm
making about you know per sale so some
of my margins obviously are higher than
that and every once in a while i'll make
a 20 profit or a 30 profit or sometimes
up to like a 50 profit or sometimes even
up to 100 profit although those are rare
and i do plan on making a video of like
how you should kind of approach like
high margin products or like expensive
products or like should you build your
store around like low and inexpensive
products there's a whole strategy behind
that that i think works very very well
and again this is like not my opinion
this is based on the facts and the data
that i've seen work the best for me over
the past six seven months as i've been
scaling this business um but that's the
the profit report for the facebook
marketplace personal profiles okay
now moving over to shop this was the
first month that i actually had my shop
fully up and running and like was kind
of going hard at it so i'm really
excited for like what i've seen um
there's definitely some issues with shop
don't get me wrong but i like it better
than personal facebook marketplace
profiles um
some of the issues just to touch on are
like obviously there's not that great of
software options out there right now
currently in my opinion some people do
use software some people like lock in
like shopify stores or like use other
softwares to get around it and like
process through that like i don't do any
of that stuff i literally do it all
manually i have vas that help me list i
have va's to help me process i'm slowly
training a va building trust with them
helping me process orders so hopefully i
can be more hands-off in the future but
right now i'm processing the majority
orders myself for everything and i'm
slowly training that va and building
trust with them okay
uh so that's a completely different
topic right
but on facebook shop specifically i did
632 sales in the month of uh september i
ended up pulling in sixteen thousand
three hundred three dollars and thirty
five cents i had to spend nine thousand
eight hundred forty seven dollars and
seventy one cents to get that which
comes out to a profit total of six
thousand four hundred fifty five dollars
and 64 cents for an average margin of
about 66
which is i think phenomenal right that's
even better than the 41 on marketplace
specifically and i'm not i i
i don't think i'm marking it up anymore
my va i'd have to actually go back and
check that i think i'm marking them up
about 40
sometimes it might be like 60 percent i
guess on shops i honestly have to go
back and check but i'm not sure
specifically why i'm making a higher
margin on shops but i am and that's a
significant margin over especially when
you're spending about 10 grand if you're
making 65 you know percent on your money
it's way more money obviously than if
you're making 40 on your money so that's
a big difference okay
so if we pull out the numbers there and
again that's about 6500 profit a little
bit less so if we take
6454.55
excuse me in 64 cents and we divide that
by the 632 sales it comes out to an
average profit of 10.21
uh cents per sale roughly okay so the
actual profit on the actual items that
i'm making on shops is less than on
personal profile right but the the
margin is higher which means i'm
probably you can obviously take what you
will from that it sounds like the data
is suggesting that i'm i'm spending less
per product and my margins higher
obviously but i'm netting less profit
right so for example maybe i'm spending
seven dollars to purchase an item and
charging the buyer you know like 15 or
you know whatever it is right rather
than like spending 10 or 12 dollars to
purchase an item and charging the buyer
like 20 or 25 or something like that
right so cheaper it seems like it's
cheaper items that's obviously not like
a one-size-fits-all answer like a
blanket statement but typically that's
what the dad is suggesting and again i'd
have to do like a deep dive here i also
plan on making a video soon about like
because i see it all the time uh like
people like what can you do better to
you know sell more on shops or i'm
getting low views what's the issue and i
see all these videos on youtube like
people saying like you need to do this
you need to do that you need to do that
and like don't get me wrong like all
that stuff can potentially help but like
ultimately the best thing about shops
that well there's a lot of great things
about shops but one of the best things
about shops is they literally give you
all the insights and all the data and
like there's literally graphs of
everything so you can look at the
discrepancy and and go look for like an
outlier like okay your sales are down
your views are down what metric change
significantly figure that out make
adjustments and then look at the data as
you go on you can actually grow it like
a legitimate business right you're not
just like kind of guessing and so i'm
really excited about that and i think
there's a lot of opportunity for
scalability not just there but like in a
lot of different avenues there right so
that's facebook shops in the month of uh
september let's move on
poshmark didn't really scale up at all
again same thing with mercari again so
poshmark i think we did like i don't
even know what it was it was like
um
like six sales maybe on poshmark uh
ended up coming out to like eighty three
dollars profit on poshmark
uh again probably did like ten sales on
mercari it come ended up coming out to
180 50 180 and 50 cents profit on
mercari so nothing crazy there um i
didn't really scale it up i haven't been
adding too much to them because i've
been focused on marketplace with
personal shops and obviously amazon
which we're going to tok about here in
a second but in the month of october i
do i have a new va i plan on potentially
listing a bunch more on those they're
not gonna be my main focus at all right
i'm not trying to scale them to the moon
um but i do plan on scaling them a
little bit and seeing if i can maybe get
to like 500 profit a month on each of
those or maybe like a thousand dollars
profit a month on each of those i know
it's possible because i've sold like
reselling wise on there before like when
i actually used to buy inventory so like
there's a lot of opportunity to sell on
those but i've never tested it drop
shipping with that business model so i'm
excited to kind of you know throw my va
into it start listing on those you have
to do it properly there is specific
methods that like
you really need to focus on as well as
amazon but like i definitely think that
like if i start listing on them more and
if i can do it the right ways i can make
500 to about a thousand dollars
potentially in the month of uh october
here and obviously you'll see that like
in the beginning of november when i do
my profit report for october i think i
can get there on both of those and i'm
gonna test it out and i'll report back
to you the results there right but i
haven't in the month of september i
really didn't try to scale these up
didn't worry about them that's just like
free sales for things i'd already listed
right now amazon i only did 217 sales
i'm scaling back my amazon store a
little bit um because
a lot of different reasons first of all
i have a couple bogus ip claims so like
i was just trying to scale my thing back
because one of the payouts was literally
like 10 grand and then like i didn't
want to risk like getting suspended and
then i'm holding my money on amazon
specifically because for the ip
complaints
so i'm just going to let the ip
complaints kind of fall off which you
know if you know anything about amazon
that happens over time not that big of a
deal so i'm still doing it a little bit
here and there but i'm not adding any
new products to my store right now okay
so that could go up um i have a couple
more that i've already like on the
background i'm gonna add but like that
number should probably say relatively
similar because i'm not trying to scale
my amazon store in the month of october
at least currently like as we sit here
on october 1st right maybe that changes
two weeks from now maybe that changes
three weeks from now but i highly doubt
it i would assume roughly similar
numbers anywhere from like one to three
grand profit on amazon depending on the
inventory that i have in there depending
on like the listings and if they're in
stok or not depending on you know what
a lot of different factors but i don't
plan on scaling that too significantly
in the month of october once those
things fall off
then we'll turn the gas back on there
and uh you know that's how we'll
approach that right
so
um i didn't even tell you the profit
report i think um but the whole reason
behind like me not scaling that as well
is also because like if you look at the
margins on marketplace like with
personal profiles you're making like 40
margins or some people are making 30
margins or 50 margins or even higher
right on shops it's 60 i think it was
like 66 or whatever it was i don't even
remember right it's
um
60 yeah 66 percent on shops on amazon my
margin is 15 right and so i scaled my
amazon store pretty significantly um the
i don't even know what it was like
two months ago maybe and i was i was
literally spending like 30 grand and
like um 15 margin on 30 grand is not
that great right so if i'm spending 30
000 i want a decent return there a 33
margin on that would be 10 grand profit
right that's pretty solid 15
margin is only 4 500 right so four
thousand dollars for 500 bucks
that that's that's not that much profit
when you're spending thirty thousand
dollars right so that's another major
issue with amazon the margins are
significantly less all right but to
recap because i don't remember if i
actually said it yet uh amazon i did 217
sales i ended up making about eleven
thousand fought not about and ended up
making exactly eleven thousand five
hundred fifty one dollars and twenty
nine cents i had to spend ten thousand
dollars or ten thousand uh forty seven
dollars and thirty eight cents to get
that which ended up coming out to a
profit of fifteen hundred bucks or fifty
one thousand five hundred three dollars
and ninety one cents i can't tok today
for a margin of 15 uh 15 right so we do
the math there what was the profit per
sale on amazon to recap it was 1503
91 divided by 217 which comes out to an
average profit of of a little under
seven dollars right so nothing crazy but
i'll take that extra profit i really
didn't scale this up didn't work on it
too too much didn't really have to do
anything else because the the inventory
is already sitting in my amazon store so
i don't have to change many things um
but yeah so that's the the profit report
for the month of september i really hope
it helps i hope you guys learn a lot
from this video if you want to learn how
to do any one of these businesses
they're all taught in my dropship pro
course which is linked down in the
description all right give it a thumbs
up if you appreciate the transparency in
this video or really anything in it if
you have any questions let me know
obviously
and i'll see in the next one
