How To Add Your Refund Policy To Shopify (All Policy Pages)

hey guys, welcome back to my channel. this is going to be a very quick and easy setup guide for all of the policy pages that you will find on any website. this is needed. if you want to advertise, you need these Pages. you will not be accepted onto Google ads if you don't have these Pages. fortunately for us, Shopify makes this very, very easy, but there are a couple of things that you need to know. so, once you're on the back end of your Shopify store, click on settings and then just go down here to the bottom and click policies. this has changed recently, which is the main reason I'm making this video, because the old videos are no longer relevant because they're out of date. so you want to just click on create policy here, and it's pretty obvious that it's going to be the kind of legal um like standard. so this is fine, because this is the legal thing you can see. so before we actually do this, you want to make sure that all of your store details are set up properly. so the store email address is the right email address, the store currency is the right currency. you want to make sure that everything is correct first, and then we go to policies and, yeah, we're going to create this from template. so, because we're doing print on demand, I do print on demand anyway- you will need to add something like: um, personalized items cannot be refunded. so if we have some kind of personalized uh thing or whatever it might be, then you might want to add certain rules. so just make sure that you read the refund policy and make sure that it has everything that you need it for everything that you need from it. privacy policy: this will just take everything from your store and it will just automatikally put it into a legal format. Shopify is not stupid, so they know that they uh, they have to be careful here. so they have to make sure that everything is actually correct. it looks like there's a lot of um like delete here, so just be careful here. so, yeah, this kind of thing, um, just be careful. you're gonna have to actually add some details here. you can't just skip through this. so, um, yeah, it says here: insert information about other service providers. so, for example, uh, we might have to put Google analytiks here. so, yeah, insert if applicable. you're gonna have to delete these things, otherwise it's just gonna look stupid. basically, but just go through and make sure that it looks correct, because you've got to remember, people do read these stuff sometimes. so, like here as well, we do do not engage in fully automated decision making. that is illegal or otherwise. significant effects using customer data. so if you're using some kind of AI to make your decisions in marketing, then you'd have to put do, but if you're doing everything manually here, then do not, obviously. so just make sure that you go through this, make sure, um, that it works for you, make sure you delete everything that needs to be deleted. it's just usually Common Sense, basically, so you can delete this if you want, because, uh, yeah, you need to delete all these kind of things as you're going through. but, yeah, that's pretty much it. just make sure you delete all the bits they've added and make sure you follow their instructions. basically, terms of service is the same, um, I already have in terms of service, it seems. but yeah, it's the same kind of deal. this one should be a lot easier and you shouldn't have to change anything, because I think it's kind of the same for every website, whereas the other one is a little bit different depending on, like, what tracking software and cookie software you're using. that's why privacy policy is more complicated in terms of service. in terms of service is like: this is just shopify's um terms of services. basically, shipping policy they have left blank because it depends on you, basically. so just whatever your shipping policy is for your store, then this gives you freedom to create your own shipping policy. so my shipping policy is: I will accept returns within 14 days of the package arriving, hassle free. um label is, return label is in the box, or whatever it might be. you can have a look at some shipping policies online, but, yeah, contact information. I want to hit create from template here, but it's going to dox me. I'm just going to do it anyway, whatever, um, so this will just take, uh, the information from your website. again, I'm not going to scroll down, because there's my old address on there, and then I'm going to hit save. this is not the end of this, uh. what we actually have to do, though, because if I click on online store and we have a quick look at my online store, you'll see the privacy policy. they're not here. you can't find them. they're literally useless to us right now, and um, Google states that they must be on either in your footer or in your menu, so let's add them to our menu by hitting navigation, and I'm going to add them to the footer. so I'm just going to click on footer, I'm going to add a menu item and, um, we can call this policies. so there's two ways to do this. uh, actually I won't do it like that. let's just do it the normal way. so just click on a link here and click on policies and then just click on contacts information and then add it and then add another menu item. click here, scroll down policies, just add them all one by one and we'll just do up to refund policy. I won't do them all, because I'm sure you get the idea. I'm going to refresh that, hit refresh here as well, and then there you go. it's that easy, guys. uh, we're now done. we now have our privacy policy, our refund policy, contact information, and then, obviously, we would add the other ones. the other way that you can do this is what I was going to say was you can Nest these inside each other, so let me just delete all of them quickly so I can show you what I mean. add menu item. we're going to call this menu item policies, and I'm just going to add that, if I can. okay, it does actually need a page, which is kind of annoying. I'll just put it to go to privacy policy, I guess, and then we're going to add the other ones one by one and we're going to Nest them and we're gonna see how that looks. so we'll Nest contact information under policies and we'll see what happens there. no, that's terrible. okay, so ignore what I was just saying. um, but yeah, you can see here, privacy policy. this is now a really nice and juicy privacy policy which should cover us legally hashtag, not legal advice. okay, that's it, guys. I hope this helps you create the final touches to your store before you launch and before you apply to Google ads. be very, very careful with applying to Google ads, because it can go wrong and, yeah, just be careful. thanks for watching. I'll see you soon and peace. one more thing I've got to mention is, um, yeah, the thing with Google ads. it went wrong with me and I think I have a big problem with Google ads. um, so just be really, really careful if you're using the Google um sales channel. so, if I click on sales Channel and type in Google here, this is the Google sales Channel- just be really, really careful, um, when you're setting it up, because if you get it wrong, there's potential that you will not be able to get on to Google in the future. so take your time with it. make sure everything's correct, make sure everything is set up properly. make sure the countries that you're targeting fit the country that you are targeting in Shopify as well. that's a really, really important part of it. and, yeah, just be careful, guys, because if you mess it up, it's it's a problem. so this is store currency has to match with the country that you are targeting in merchant center and on Google ads. anyway, that's it for this video. How To Handle Shopify Refunds And Returns | Shopify Dropshipping

yo, what's up? guys Nash here coming at you with a brand new video and today we're toking about how to deal with the super annoying thing of refunds. so, unfortunately, it's part of every e-commerce business. you're always gonna have, you know, people asking for refunds or exchanges or their money back or all these kind of different things, and it's just something that you have to expect. but there are certain things that we can do to sort of eliminate the amount of refunds or at least like cover ourselves when people actually pass form, so you don't have to give out as many as people asked for. so before jump in, three quick things: if you haven't already, go ahead and hit subscribe or just, you know, drop it. free value for you guys, every single damn generally genuinely trying to help you guys out, and it's free. so why the heck would you not want to subscribe? and, while you're at it, just to like go ahead and hit that notification bow as well, because you know then you'll be notified exactly when I actually drop the content, which every single day, like I said, because we're trying to get everybody on this channel to at least a hundred dollars a day, everybody that subscribes to the channel into at least a hundred dollars a day, which is totally doable. lastly, if you liked it, go ahead and give me a like. it helps me rank the video and helps me, you know, help out more people as well. so how do you deal with refunds? well, the number one thing that you got to do is set up a terms of refund. okay, and what is this? basically, it's like a page where on your website where you explicitly lay out your refund policy, and I know a lot of people don't tok about this, but it's it's important to have and you know any legitimate business that you see is gonna have some sort of like refund policy, terms of service, partikipant, all this kind of stuff. so how do you actually go ahead and set that up? well, I pulled out the test, so test site, so we can check it out. but essentially, what you're gonna do is you're gonna go to the settings, which is right down here, and you're gonna go to checkout, so your store's checkout, and you're gonna go all the way down to the bottom here and you probably won't have these letters. but what you can do is just go to generate sample refund, privacy policy in terms of service, and what that's going to do is just give you like a um. you know in general, you know refund policy and all this kind of stuff that you can edit if you want to. but with this information you can actually go ahead and make pages on your website that have to do with it. so you know, we'll just copy and paste this and it'll go over to online store pages- and, as you can see, I've already made them for this. but essentially you're just going to go add a page and you're gonna copy and paste that information from those text boxes and to make privacy policy brief on policy and Terms of Service. now, in your refund policy, you can structure a couple different ways, but what I recommend doing is only doing refunds if the product is unopened and if the product is, if they send it back to myself, not to the manufacturer, but to my personal address. so once I actually received the product, realize that it's no, unopened and you know something that's wrong with me or whatever, then that's when I'll actually go ahead and do the refund. if, for you know if they refuse to do that or if they've already opened it, then you know, sorry, it's in our Terms. we can't do a refund, unfortunately, and you know, be super polite about it, but just tell them that you can't do a refund and refer them back to the refund pages so that they can actually realize that you know that is in the terms and that they should have read that, and, guys. so that's that's sort of how it works there. now, when you actually want to do a refund, essentially what you're gonna do is you know whoever the order is, you're going to go to the orders page and let's just say, for example, it's like I don't know, like this order here, 1037. what we can do is just click on the order and scroll down and you can see you like $14.99 and we're just gonna hit the refund button. I'm not going to do it because I don't want to refund them, but I just hit the refund button and that'll send a refund to the customer. just know that you refund it in and yeah, so that's essentially it. so hopefully these tips were helpful for you guys. How To Set Up Your Shopify Refund & Shipping Policies In 5 Minutes | Dropshipping 2022

what's up guys? my name is alex and in today's video, i just want to go over the four policies on your guys's shopify stores, those being the refund, privacy, terms of service, as well as your shipping policies. so these are four very important aspects of any store, and setting them up wrong can lose you a ton of money as well as, in some cases, you might find yourself in a legal battle. so in order to avoid this, let's tok about why they're important, how to actually create them and how to get them on your store's website. so let's jump in right now and take a look at that. all right, what's up guys? we're over here on the shopify homepage. we're on the free plush ship promo store. i made this store for a previous video to uh, go ahead and do a demo on it to show you guys how to set up the free plus shipping. so i'll just go ahead and use this store again for the purpose of this video, since i don't actually have anything set up on it. you'll start by going to settings in the bottom left corner. from there, you'll click on legal. over here you'll see the four policies that i toked about at the beginning of this video, and you'll want to start by just going ahead and clicking create from template. it will automatikally craft a refund policy for your store with some of the personal information in it, like your guys's store's email address, your uh address in some cases on some of these policies. so you'll actually want to go ahead and remove your address on some things. but uh, really what you want to do with the refund policy is just go through and kind of reword some things to fit your store. so, whatever you have in mind- if you want to offer returns, uh, where they pay postage or you pay postage- just depending on where you're going to go with this route- adjust these templates to where you need them to be. so the template that it automatikally crafts up for your store is not usually ideal for what you're doing with your brand. so, like i said, you really just want to be creative with it and just change a few things to meet your actual stores policies that you have in mind. from there, you'll go ahead with privacy policy- same thing. terms of service- same thing- and just go ahead and scroll through and actually read all of them so you know what they contain and to make sure they actually fit right on your store. so shipping policy actually does not have a template. so this is something where you might actually want to look up a template online or actually just craft this yourself based on some of these templates above for inspiration. so in your shipping policy, you'll want to include some key points such as processing time, shipping time and just some of the key features before they actually go to check out what they would want to learn. so once you have all these policies created, go ahead and click save. and we actually need to get these on your stores pages right now, because right now they're only going to show up for checkout. so we actually want these on the footer of our shopify store. so from here, you'll just go ahead and click online store, then go to navigation and you'll see these menus right here. so, like i said, we want to put these policies in the footer menu. so i'll go ahead and click on the footer menu and i'll click add menu items so on here, we'll just go ahead and type in shipping policy and if you scroll through here, you'll actually see the policies page at the bottom. and oh sorry, we don't have the shipping policy. i didn't save that, so we'll just go ahead and do the refund policy. so if you click that, add that and then click save, it will actually show up on the bottom of your web page underneath search- your refund policy and you can just go ahead and read your policy on there. so it's really that simple: just go ahead and craft these up, get them to the actual liking of your store and then go ahead and add them to your pages. now these are very important because these are actually how you're going to enforce your policies. so if somebody wants a refund for an item that you actually don't support, you can send them a link to your refund policy and explain why you're not accepting this refund. so i hope i was able to help you guys out with this video as well as earn your thumbs up. if this video helped you out in any way, go ahead and subscribe, as there's plenty more to follow. i have two ecom resources linked in the description below, the first one being the ecom advantage instagram page. on there you'll find useful resources as well as i'll answer your guys's questions and help you guys out. the second link in the description below is the ecom advantage facebook page, and if you guys want to join that group, go ahead. it's free to join and you'll find like-minded entrepreneurs in there, and we really just ask and answer questions and help each other grow, as always. thank you guys so much for watching and i'll see you guys next time.

How to Generate a Return/Refund Policy for Shopify Online Store

in this video i'm going to show you how you can get a refund or return policy for your shopify store, and if this video was of any value to you, please leave us a super thanks and thank you for supporting our channel. we really appreciate it. let's start with the tutorial. so shopify has this built-in page that allows you to generate a refund policy. the link is in the description and you can just go to this page. down here you're going to be asked to start a trial, but you probably already have your store, so just click on skip shopify trial and here you're going to want to fill out the information about your business, like the company name, email address. it's gonna be emailed out to you, like you're gonna get an email, so make sure that you put in an accurate email. this information is important because this is what's going to go in the actual document, so this is what people are going to read in the refund policy, so make sure that you fill it out accurately. so, once you have it filled out, click on send me return policy and you're gonna get an email with a link that's gonna link you to the actual document. so let's go and check our email. boom, this is the link that we're gonna receive. so in that email we're gonna get that link. click on this link right here. once we get to this page, we're gonna have the whole document already filled out with all that information. that's the the address that i put in in that form. so i'm gonna click on copy to clipboard and basically we have it copied. so let's go back to our store and we're gonna have to go two pages on the left and we're going to create a new page. so up right corner, click on add page and we can just name it turn policy and we just paste and right here you're gonna have the whole document spelled out. you need to read it, because this is just a template and you will actually have to modify it according to your business. so once you read and edit this whole document, we can just save it and we have the page created. now that we have the page created, we need to actually add it to our storefront so we can go to navigation directly here on the left to add it to the footer menu. but it will all depend where you want to add it, right? not all stores are the same, so i'm just gonna go to the actual store and on the theme. i'm going to customize it so that i can actually find the place that i want to put it. i want to put it all the way at the bottom, which is down here, and that is my footer menu. so i'm going to click on the footer menu and i have quick links and newsletter. i want to add it to this quick links section. so i'm going to click on the quick links and on the quick links. what we have is a footer menu. so i'm going to click on edit menu so we can be taken to the footer menu and we have all these pages down here. so we have privacy policy, terms and conditions. let's add the return policy now. just name it and we can paste the url of the page or we can just search it directly. so i'm gonna go to pages and it's gonna search for all the pages that i have created in my store and i have the return policy right here. boom, i have it selected and click add. i can change the position if i want to. if i want to have a top, whatever, click on save menu. once our menu is saved, we can just go to our store. normally, it will take a few seconds for it to update, so, like, if you don't see it right away, don't freak out. give it a minute and it will show up on your storefront after a while. i let at least 30 seconds go by. so now let's go ahead and click on the little i so that i can go and check out my store and, as you can see down here, we have our return policy added. so let's go ahead and click on it, see how it looks like and here we have our document. basically, that's all we need to do. just make sure that you update it with the information that you actually want to provide to your customers and, uh, that's it. you have your return policy. i hope you found this video helpful and, if you did, please leave us a super thanks. like and subscribe to the channel. have a wonderful rest of the day, my friends, and stay safe out there. How to create store policies || Shopify Help Center

Creating policies for your Shopify store is a great way to answer potential questions while also building trust with your customers. Here’s your quick and easy guide on how to create store policies, what to include in them and how to link them to your online store. For everything I show you today, you can find all of the help artikles linked below. Now let’s get started. Hey, everyone Aly here. When you’re creating policies for your store, you can either use one of the default templates Shopify provides and make any necessary changes, or write the entire policy yourself. For now, Shopify provides the templates in English, So if you need another language, use the default template and translate it to suit your businesses needs. From your Shopify admin, click “Settings”, Then click “Legal”. Here you have text boxes for different types of policies. Let’s start with the refund policy and work our way down. A good refund and return policy can help protect your company and win your customers’ trust. It’s extremely important to use both clear and concise language. A refund policy should answer the following questions: How long does the customer have to return the item? In what condition can items be returned? Will a refund be issued and, if so, how much? And will the refund be issued to a store credit or back to the customer using the same payment method they used to make the original purchase. How do exchanges work? Do you offer returns or refunds on sale items, And who will pay for return shipping should an item need to be returned? If you already know what information you want to include, then enter it in the text box. Otherwise, click “Create from template” to use Shopify’s free refund policy generator. The template is a great start, but I recommend going through and making adjustments to better suit your business. For example, at AlyAthletiks, our return policy is 20 days from when their package arrived, or 20 days from the date of purchase in store, So I’ll make that change. Next, let’s look at the Privacy Policy. This is a legal document that describes all the ways your business uses your customers data. It lets your customers know exactly which personal information is being gathered, how it’s being used and how it’s being protected Under Privacy Policy. click “Create from template”. Privacy policies can be intimidating because they're so detailed, but take the time to review the information and edit it to match your businesses policies. For example, if you’re sharing this data with other vendors, then include that information here. Next up, Terms of Service. This is a legal document developed to protect your company. It tells your customers what is legally required of them if they use your services, like your website or mobile app. Under Terms of Service, click “Create from template”, Review the information and make then any changes. The template provided is very thorough, so you might not need to make very many changes at all, But if you’re ever unsure, you can always consult with a legal advisor in your area. Finally, the shipping policy. You might notike that there is no default template provided here. Because shipping is so custom for each business, you need to create a policy that reflects your shipping guidelines. And because Covid19 has brought shipping delays and increased carrier costs, it's more important than ever to keep your shipping policy up to date. Try to include the following information: Order processing times: After an order is placed, how many days will it take to get the order ready to ship? This is partikularly important information around holidays. Domestik and international shipping options. What countries do you ship to And what are the expected delivery times for each country? Shipping costs: Surprise shipping costs at checkout are one of the top reasons people abandon their carts. Be very clear about how much shipping costs and if you offer free shipping, Local options: If you offer local delivery or pickup. you can explain the steps customers need to follow after they place an order- Returns, changes and cancellations- Even though you have a separate returns policy. you can summarize that information here or link out to it so customers can read it before they decide to make a purchase. Include how your business evaluates refunds, order edits, exchanges and what your process is in the event of a lost or damaged order. It’s common to need to update your shipping policy every few months, especially if you add new shipping options and carriers, expand your fulfillment network or antikipate delays. And if you use a dropshipping service like Oberlo, then your shipping policy needs to reflect Oberlo’s guidelines. Check out the video linked above about Oberlo shipping settings and how to create shipping policies for a dropshipping business. My personal preference is to write my shipping policy in another text editor, like Google Docs, so I can take my time with it, But also so I can save it as a backup, since I’m not working from a default template like the other policies. When you have your Shipping policy created, paste it into the text box, Then click “Save”. to finish, Now that your policies are created, you need to make sure that your customers can easily find them. Store policies are usually linked in the footer menu at the bottom of the online store, like in this example. Let’s jump back into the Shopify admin. Click “Online store”, then “Navigation” From here, click “Footer Menu”, Click “Add menu item” and then give the menu item a name like “Refund Policy”. This is the name that customers will see on your store. In the search field under “Link”, find and select “Policies” and then click “Refund Policy”. Click “Add” to finish, To include all of the policies you just created. repeat these steps for each one. Be sure to click “Save” when you’re done making changes. Your policies are now live. You can preview them by clicking the eye icon next to “Online store”. Then scroll to the bottom of your site to see and test your new links. Now you have everything you need to create well thought out store policies so customers know exactly what to expect when shopping on your online store. How to Deal With Shopify Refunds & Returns | ReturnGo App

in today's tutorial, i'm going to be showing you the most efficient way that you can deal with returns and refunds for your shopify stores, and that is to set up a returns and exchange portal that will allow your customers to exchange their item for another item from your store. and this is the best way to deal with refunds, because you're still able to keep some profit rather than refunding them the money directly, or you can refund your customers with store credits, so once again, they're still spending money with your store. so let me go and show you the returns and exchange portal that we will be creating in today's tutorial. so here we are on my shopify store, and if we just scroll down to the footer, you will see resolution center. so if we just head over to this page, you can see i have created a returns and exchange portal, and this just makes things so much easier when it comes to dealing with returns and refunds and exchanges for your store, rather than dealing with it through email, which can be very time consuming. so all the customer needs to do is enter in their order number and either their email address, zip code or phone number, and then just click on find my order. it will then show them their order and they can go and choose their order and then they can hit next. now from here they have a few different options so they can exchange it for another variable of the item or they can return it and get something else, such as store credit. so if they go to exchange for a new size and click on next, then it will go and show them all of the different options. now it doesn't just have to be size, so this is taken directly from the variance of your product. so it could be color or it could be plug type, it could be any different type of variant for the product. so this customer originally had a 34 small. maybe they want to exchange it for a 34 regular. they can also view the extra options and then we can go back and then they can just click on exchange. now they have to just go and choose the reason that they want to exchange it. so if the item is damaged, they've received a wrong item. it's not as described, and you can edit all of these different reasons, so you can add as many reasons as you want to. so we're just going to go for not as described and click next. now the customer can upload an image of the item. so let's say, for example, it was damaged. they can upload an image of how is damaged. now, once again, this is an optional step. you can remove this from your returns and exchange portal if you don't want your customers to have to upload an image. so if we just go to upload image and we can just upload an image and then they can just click on next, all they need to do now is just click on confirm and it will come through to your returns and exchange portal. so if i just click on confirm now, you can just set up some confirmations where they have to read your returns policy and privacy policy and you can edit all of the text here that comes with your returns in exchange portal. so i'll be showing you how to do that in today's tutorial. so then they can just confirm that they have read these and hit confirm. it will then just take a few moments to process their exchange or return and then it will give them a unique rma number, which is basically their returns or exchange reference number. so anytime they want to find out updates about their return or exchange, they can send over their reference number now with the app that i'm using, which is called return go. so i'll be showing you how to set up the returns in exchange portal using this app. you will then be able to see all of the different returns. so if we just go and refresh the returns page, you can now see i have a pending request with the resolution so they can pick a different resolution. so if they want to refund to store credit, or if they want to instantly exchange the item for another item, and then you will see the pending request, now, from this dashboard, you can just click on the return request and then you can approve it, you can reject it, you can release the new product and once you click on release exchange, it will create a new order for the item that they want to swap it for. so you can see this customer is swapping a 34 small for a 34 regular. so if i click on release exchange, it will create a new order in my shopify dashboard for a 34 regular, or you can refund them directly back to their payment method or with store credit. so it's totally up to you how you want to deal with the refunds. you will also see the uploaded images that the customer has uploaded so you can see if any items are damaged and things like that, and that is just one option for the customer. so if we just go and reject this exchange request, i will show you how they can request a refund as well. so let's just reject this exchange request. so now, if we just head back to our resolution center, so let's just click on ok, so when they click on ok, it will bring them back to the home page. if we scroll down and click back to the resolution center, and now once again they can go and request another refund. so if they click on find my order, and this time i will go and choose the same order and i will show you how they can go and ask for a refund. so if they, instead of going for exchange for a new size, they can go return to get something else, and then, once again, they can choose the reason why they want to refund it. so they can click on next. once again, they can go and upload an image and then they can hit next. and now, if they just hit confirm and read the policies and hit confirm, and this time they can choose to get a refund for store credit or get a refund to payment method and this just makes things so much easier to deal with returns and refunds as opposed to using email, and also it just sets your store apart. it makes your store appear so much more professional when you have this type of resolution center, as opposed to just dealing with with refunds through email. going back and forth with exchanges with the customer and getting them to send you images through email and things like that can be very time consuming. so having this type of resolution center really sets your store apart from other stores. so now they, for example, they can just ask for store credits and then they can hit next and once again it will give them that unique reference number and once again then the returns will show up in your return dashboard so you can see we've got the pending request- refund to store credit. so now that i've shown you how the returns and exchange portal works, let me show you how you can actually start setting this up from scratch for your own shopify store. so, in order to create your returns and exchange portal for your shopify store, we are going to install an app. so make sure you are logged into your shopify dashboard and then we will be installing the app called return go, so i will leave a link in the description to this app. now you do get a 14 day free trial for the return go app, and then after that is 9.97 a month. now, like i say, i think it's totally worth it because, firstly, it's going to make your store appear more professional, which will, in turn, lead to more sales, and secondly, is going to encourage customers to exchange products rather than refund them, and that way you can actually make more profit because you won't have to refund as many customers. so from here, all we are going to do is click on add app. you will then be brought over to your shopify dashboard, so just scroll down and click on install app and then from here, we are just going to click on start free trial. it will then bring you over to
