How to sort products on Shopify to achieve the best results

hey calimera, hola, hi, welcome to eshop tok. i'm alberto and in today's video i will expand on the importance of product order on your shopify store. why is it important to sort your products in a smart way and how to do it to achieve the best results. but before we start, make sure to like this video, click the subscribe button and hit that bell right next to it to never lose one of our stories. now imagine that you run an online footwear store and a potential customer feels the urgent need to buy a pair of shoes. so he enters a store just to face hundreds and hundreds of results. after browsing for a couple of minutes, he just gets overwhelmed and quits. this story does not have a happy ending, but it's a perfect example to understand the need for product sorting. does any given visitor have the time or the interest to browse through each pair individually? most likely not. maybe he will filter the shoes by price, but that may still not be enough to narrow down his choices and help him decide on a purchase. so to help your visitors organize your products into easy to browse collections, imagine your customer is going through your collections like they are browsing into a section or an aisle in a brick and mortar shop, then with the right sorting in filters, your customers can easily narrow down the products from many to just a few relevant ones that better fit their needs. sorting can also speed up the product search and selection process considerably, improving your customer experience. finally, product listing gives your visitors a more comprehensive overview of the available products and helps them make a more informed decision. summing up, providing an easy navigation and browsing while placing the right product at the top will increase the chances that your potential customer will find their match, and having that match visible is crucial for a successful sale. so how to sort your products on shopify? by default, your items are sorted in alphabetikal order, but you surely want to use a more efficient parameter like rating, popularity, sales numbers, price or something else. let's go to the admin view of our shopify homepage to create a new collection and then sort the products inside of that collection. for that, i will click on products on the left side menu and then collections under it. here i can see a list of all the available collections. i will want to start a new one for this purpose, so for that i will click on create collection on the top right side. i will give it a name, i will scroll down and on collection type, i will select manual. then on the top i will click save. that's it. my collection is created. so now i need to populate it with some products. for that, i will click on all products on the left side menu and i have a list of all available products. i will click on a few products to add to the collection and i will click on more actions right here on the top. add to collections. here i have a list of available collections where i can add the products. i will select the one that i just created valuable and click save on the bottom. that's it: our products are added to the collection. now let's go back to the collection. click on the collection option on the left side menu and select the collection that we just created. scroll down and you have all available products. now how to sort these products? here i have the field sort. click on that. i have a few good options, but i will select manually and go with my hunch. so i think that this is going to be my top selling products, followed by this one, and then this is going to be the third one, followed by this. that's it. the order of the projects is adjusted, and now i want to see how it looks, so i'll scroll up and click on the eye icon to view. click on that and voila, the products on my collections are sorted, and this is the result. on the first line i have my big guns, the ones that i believe that are going to sell the best, and then i have the other products. that's it. if you have anything to add or any questions on this, please let me know right there in the comments below and before we finish, just a few more things to keep in mind. one, divide the products into collection and group them by relevant parameters like theme, type of use, type of season, category, etc. two, always put the most attractive photos at the top, preferably on the first two rows of the page. three, be careful with the number of products in a single row. if you place too many, then it will be harder to explore the site. if you show too little, you will extend the scrolling time. and four, keep your heavy guns visible. having a promotional items and your best sellers at the top will increase the chances of a sale. there you go. the right product target can be the reason why your sales numbers take off and the lack of it a reason to see them fall. however, now i have all the information necessary to have a nice, well-organized eshop and benefit from it. as always, feel free to watch this video again and as many times necessary if you found this content useful or if you simply liked it. show us your love and appreciation by clicking that like button and subscribing to the eshop tok channel. if you want us to cover any specific topic or if you have something to add, please let me know right there in the comments below. i am alberto toking ishap, and until next time, keep your sales up.

Wrong Shopify variant showing up first? How to change the order of variants (2021)

hello everybody. this is ian, founder of i30 media corp and author of the lean media book blog and video channel available from leanmediaorg. today i'm going to be toking about how to reorder variants in shopify. a quick disclaimer: you're responsible for following shopify's terms and conditions and carefully value risks before following any advice you find online. and what you may see today on my video it may look a little bit different when you actually try to do it yourself, because shopify they often change things or maybe you have a special theme or a special app or something that makes things behave differently. in any case, here's a story. here is one of my shopify stores. i sell the. i'm a publisher and i sell these cheat sheets as well as books related to tiknology and other topics. i read some of the books. other people write other other books. but one issue i've had is most of these, most of these products they have, there's two variants for each one. uh, there's the paperback edition and there's the pdf edition. and actually when you look at- look at this partikular book here- excel basics in 30 minutes- it says from 899 and then it has a crossed out, 1299 and it says sale. so a lot of people- i've gotten emails about this more than once. they say: when i actually go to the page, i'm expecting 8.99, but it shows 11.99. and why is that? and the reason is is because the way i have the variance set up, the paperback edition shows first, the pdf edition costs 8.99, and this and discounted from 12.99. so what i want to do is i want to redo this page so, instead of the paperback edition showing up first, the pdf edition shows up first. and here's how to do it: go to your shopify interface. here's mine: click on products, find the product. so this is assuming, of course, you have products that have variants. now this product has a huge description and what i'm going to do is i'm going to edit. uh. well, actually a lot of times people think, oh, i'm going to edit the variant and that will let you rearrange them. it doesn't work that way. what you need to do is actually go to more options and reorder variants, and first, paperback is on the left, pdf is on the right. so this is number one. this is number two. i'm going to grab that, just basically using my mouse to hold it down and then moving it over like that and clicking save. so it saved it, so now the pdf should show up. first let's go back to the website and test it out. so let's go back to the home page here. so the text is the same from 899 and the 1299 is crossed out. click on it and there we go: it's 8.99. that's the default. if people want to get the more expensive paperback, they can do that too. for more information on how to get the most out of shopify, go to leemediaorg. click on video and you can see my youtube channel. i also have a blog on lean media. you can check that out. i have a lot of advice about it and i cover things like shopify, amazon seller, central, amazon fba, amazon fbm, amazon advertising, amazon kdp, amazon advantage. a couple other programs that are um kind of special, such as woocommerce. i have a couple videos about that. but in any case, i try to help people get the most out of these programs and use them more efficiently, and hopefully you'll learn something from them. if you enjoyed this video, please take a moment to like it on youtube or subscribe to it. i'd appreciate it. i release new videos at least once or twice per month, sometimes more often than that, and i really enjoy sharing what i know. my name is ian lamont. thank you so much for watching.

How To Edit Shopify Orders! #shopify #ecommerce #orders

[Music]. hey there, welcome back to my channel. my name is brittany bundles, and today's video is going to be a walkthrough of how to edit orders through your shopify store. so if you are interested, be sure to give the video a big thumbs up. please make sure that you are subscribed and let's get right into the video. before we get into the video, though, please be sure to click the link down below this video. if you have not tried shopify, or if you are interested in becoming a shopify customer client, click the link down below, choose the plan that works best for you, and there may even be a free trial, but you have to click that link to see back to the video. um, this is an order that was already submitted through my store, my online store. this is a wholesale order, and for this partikular order, there is a discount being applied. typically, with wholesale orders, discounts are not applicable, but every scenario is is different, so there are some, um you know- wholesale orders that will or have received discounted you know pricing for, for various reasons. um, however, what i'm going to show you is how to edit orders. now. this is going to come in hand if you are going to be using shopify and if you are planning on working with customers. so a lot of people can use- uh, you know this, this information. i just showed an email that states that my customer that already placed the order wanted to, or needed to, add additional bundles and closures to the order to fulfill the wholesale bundle minimum. so i asked our- you know, i just asked- some clarifying questions to see if she wanted to add two bundles and two closures or two frontals. she let me know what she was wanting to add and so at this point i have the order pulled up and i'm going to go to the top of the order where i have about four different options. i have restok, edit, print and more options or more actions. excuse me, and um, i'm going to go ahead and go over to edit. now you can also click on restok if you want to. this is if you are wanting to restok certain products and if you are tracking your inventory through shopify, which is an option. but that's not what we're looking to do at this point. we're not looking to restok anything, we're just looking to add on additional products to the order so that we reach the 10 bundle wholesale minimum and also so that we reach the six frontal wholesale minimum, or sometimes it's okay to do like mix and match frontals and closures as well. so for this partikular order, i'm going to go ahead and add additional bundles and i'm also going to add closures to this order. so what i'm doing now is i clicked on add custom item so you can either add an item this way by typing in the item name, the price and going ahead and adding, or you can go ahead and browse through your products that are already available through your shopify store and add the products in manually. so that's what i'm doing now. i'm just going ahead and i am typing in what i'm looking to pull up. i typed in wholesale, but for some reason i did not pull up my whole sell options, so i'm gonna scroll down now. i was having a challenging time scrolling down and i did click renew drop shipping membership, which i'm going to go ahead and unclick in a moment, because that's not what i intended to click. but for some reason- i don't know if it was because i was holding my phone with one hand and then trying to like scroll up with the other hand- i don't know, it's working now, but there were some times that it was really challenging to get the scrolling down pat, like it just was not scrolling for me and then i tried to use my arrow and the arrow wasn't working either. i don't think it's to any fault of shopify. i think it was. you know pretty much my my ear. i don't know, like i said, if it's because i was using one hand or if it's because of of what you know. but, um, that's what i'm doing right now. i'm just trying to get down to my wholesale products so that i can go ahead and begin adding to the order now. i think this is a really important feature that shopify offers, because there there may be times i don't get these requests too often, but there may be times where i don't have these. you know scenarios too often, but there may be times where you have a certain minimum for your orders and you need to add additional products to fulfill those minimum requirements. and there also may be times where a customer has placed an order and they have maybe forgot to put a discount code in. typically, like i mentioned, discount codes are not applicable with wholesale orders, but sometimes they are. every order is, you know, unique, uh, and every circumstance is unique, so there are some one-offs, um, and then also, you know there may be something where your customer has ordered the wrong texture and they want to go ahead and edit the texture that they order now, being that this is before you went ahead and began fulfilling the order and before the hair is actually or the products- whatever you're offering- is actually sent out. there are workarounds where you can actually go in, like i'm doing now, and edit that order without having to cancel the entire order and having your customer go back through and repurchase. before i knew that this was an option. i've had a few different times where i've gone in and cancelled orders and even had to refund the payment and then had the customer or client repurchase. that works, but it's just a longer process, especially on the customer's behalf. we want to make sure, in my opinion, that we are having our customers do as little as possible. we want the experience to be as seamless as we possibly can make it. so if i have to do more work on the back end to simplify the process on my customers or clients- and that's what i'm committed to doing- so i went ahead and added the additional products and the it updated. my customers order the pricing, so the summary is updated now it does show that authorized. the authorized payment amount is 755.90 and so it says amount to a click. collect is 102 with the products that i've added. but i do need to add additional products. so i went ahead and added the 18 inch brazilian body wave. i added two. so i'm going to go back through the brows or click the browse button and then go back through so that i can add the closures that my customer decided to add on. so i'm going to go ahead and add in the closures that she requested and then i'm going to add those to the order and then it's going to go ahead and adjust the pricing again. now this is where i kind of ran into that, the halt. again i'm trying to scroll down, but it's giving me, you know, um, a little bit of pushback when i'm trying to scroll down again. it could be because i'm just using one hand, but that's what i am trying to do right now. i'm gonna get it in just a moment. um, so once i go ahead and add on the closures, like i said, it's going to update the price. now she has authorized a certain amount. the reason that it says authorize instead of collected is because i have a manual payment capture set up on my website which means when orders are purchased through paypal- you know, not sells all so much- because sales will automatikally captures the payment, even though i have manual payment capture. and that's because i have automatik capture through cell. um, it's like set up on their platform so it automatikally captures the payment that way. but when i go through paypal, which is the other option on my website, i do need to manually capture the payment. so it helps me a little bit, because if i do have an issue like this, it's not really a, you know, a huge issue or anything like that. it's just needing to add additional products to the order to fulfill the wholesale minimums, like i mentioned. but if something was to happen like this, i don't have to. um, i mean, either way i'm going to have to send another invoice, but it just works better in this way for me. um, you know, i just i i feel more comfortable doing manual payment captures versus automatik. i may go back to automatik, but right now, you know manual, you know it has its be.

How to rearrange a collection list on Shopify

welcome boutique bay, and i am back with another video. i know it's been a little while this video is coming to you guys because i have a client who has this question. i built a website for them and they're like, girl, we don't know how to rearrange our collections within the store. so i'm going to show you how to get that done. so you need to come over into themes, which is under online store. click on themes, come over into customize. okay, now, this is, um, one of my pre-made sites, so if you are interested in this style, then i will leave the link below to this partikular design on my shop. um, if you're interested in it. so, anyway. so, um, what they're asking. so these are the collections. this is what's called a collection list, where you can list out the collections that you have in your store, and i have them separated and they're like we want to move one collection from the top to the bottom, etc. so one of the things, um, that you have to know about the collections is that if you want something, so you see here, i have a collection list here and i have a collection list up here, so there's no way to drag something from one collection list into another, okay. so if you're trying to take something that's at the bottom of your store and move it to the top, right, if i wanted this prim and proper collection to be up here with hot styles, i can't take this and drag it up here. it's not going to allow that to happen. you can only rearrange things in the collection that you're in. so, for example, i'm in this one where it says off the shoulder shop or sale and prim and proper- right, i can move from improper around, i can swap its place, right, i can move it around, but i cannot move it into another collection list. so if you want something in a different collection list, then you need to select it. so what i'm going to do here is i actually have some collections already in here and i'm going to delete them, so i'm showing you this too. if you want something out of a collection you can remove, click on it and just remove the block, okay, so now if i wanted to add something- so let's say i wanted to put prim and proper, this permanent proper collection, up here- then what i would do is click add collection, all right, click on select collection and now shopify is going to give you all of the collections that you already have made. it's important that whatever collection you want showing on your store is already made. okay, because it can't get. give you an option that's not there. so let's go ahead and select the prim and proper collection and hit select and then all you have to do is save. so now the prim and proper collection is sitting at the top. the other thing to remember about collection lists are that the collections- um, there's only six that can go into a collection at a time. so what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna add the remaining uh collection, so she, just so you can see that. so i'm going to add the off the shoulder collection up here and i'm going to also add the shop, our sale collection. so let's add another collection selected and then shop our sale. so now that we have all of these in here- let me make sure i select this- now that we have them in here, you can rearrange your selections however you like. you see what i'm saying like you can rearrange them however you wish. the other thing is: let's say you have a collection. let's say that you're like pre-building your store and you're like: i know that i'm gonna have. let's say, you know you're gonna have a sale for, like martin luther king's birthday, right, and so you make like a mlk sale collection, but you don't want to run that yet. you don't want it visible on your store yet, right, you can make anything on your store invisible by clicking on these little eyes. so let's say, we don't want the sale to show yet you can click that little i to make that invisible. so it's not visible on your store. it's there but not visible. so let's say i'm ready to come in and run my cell. now, boom, just unclick that little i and now that collection is visible again to you. so hopefully that makes sense. so the main thing to remember is that if you see two collection lists- right, you can't move items from one collection list to another collection list. now the next thing i want to cover: just in case you ever want to create another collection list in your store, come down here to add section, click on collection list and then now you have another option to add more lists into your store. okay, and you would take the same process: click on the collection, click on select collection, select whatever collection you want to go into the list. you get what i'm saying. so that's how you do this. and again, if you ever don't want a collection not to show, or you don't need all the collections that's showing, maybe you only want two collections, right. so you select another thing and you're like, okay, i have, i want to do hot styles here, but i don't need, i don't need this, uh. third collection: you can always click on that collection and click on remove, block, and now you have those two collections showing. you get what i'm saying. so, but just the biggest thing to remember about your collections are anything within shopify, each one of these little headers. think of these as headers. that's a header header, right? you cannot move anything from one header to a different header. you can move this whole collection around if you want, right, but you cannot move things that are in one collection to another collection by dragging. okay, it doesn't work like that. the same thing, if it was a sideshow, like, i couldn't put this slide from this slideshow into this slideshow. it doesn't work, right, so it has to be within this little header. so, whatever the header is, you can move things around within it, but you cannot move something like this into this slide or something in this collection into this collection, okay, so you have to work within the actual main header within that group, okay, so hopefully that makes sense. same thing with these link blocks: i can't move something from this link block out of the block. i can move it around within it, but not outside of it. so hopefully that makes more sense. about how to add things in and out of your collections: how collections work within shopify: um, this is pretty much the case for all of the themes. you can do do this for anything, but, yeah, with a collection list, just um know that you cannot add things from other collections, um, into the list. so, uh, outside of that, that's pretty much the video for today. if you have any questions, please let me know. and again, if you are interested in having me How to Add a Pre-Order in Shopify (2023)

in today's video, I'm going to be showing you how you can set up pre-orders on your Shopify store. now there are a number of reasons why you might want to set up pre-orders. firstly, of course, is if you run out of stok on your product, you can always go and set up a back order to allow people to continue to purchase your products even when it's out of stok. and secondly, it's a really great method for testing new products. so maybe you want to set up a new product for your eCommerce store, but you don't want to buy lots of inventory up front. so you can mitigate this risk by purchasing just one sample of the product, taking some nice pictures, and then you can go and sell it on pre-order. if it sells well, then you can go and purchase the rest of the product in bulk, and if it doesn't sell well, then you can just go and continue on testing new products and you haven't wasted all your money on inventory that you can't sell. so in order to do this, we'll be using this app here called pre-order manager. so I will leave a link in the description to the pre-order manager Shopify app, and if you go and have a look, it does start at 24.95 per month and you can set up unlimited pre-order products. you can set up pre-order discounts back in stok, email alerts and you can do pre-orders by different countries. so maybe you've run out of stok in a partikular country or you want to test a product in a partikular country, and you can set it up as a pre-order. and, as you can see, this app has a 4.4 star rating on the Shopify App Store and over 900 ratings, so it is a really great app for setting up pre-orders. so, like I said, I'll leave a link in the description and from here all you need to do is click on add app. once you click on that, then you simply click on install app and from here you simply need to approve the subscription for the app and from here you need to just follow a few more installation steps. so click on check if theme store is 2.0. it will then hopefully say successfully detected on your theme and then you can click on apply pre-order button. now, once you click on that, hopefully it will say pre-order button applied and now you can click on preview to see if that pre-order button has been installed correctly, so we can see on the product page we now have pre-order and it says: we will fulfill the order as soon as it becomes available. so now we know that that pre-order button is working correctly. we can just go and choose yes. however, if it hasn't installed correctly, you can click on no contact support and the support team will help to get everything set up for you. so now that we have done that, we can click on setup complete. once you click on that, you will be brought over to the pre-order manager dashboard and from here you can basically see how many pre-order sales you have made and other analytiks. but the first thing I want to show you is how you can set up different types of pre-orders. so we are going to go to products and from here you will see all of the products in your store and you can go and set up different pre-orders for each product. now, in order to set up a pre-order on the product, you will need to go into products from your Shopify dashboard and just make sure that the quantity is set to zero, because people can't pre-order a product that's still in stok, because then they will just be ordering it. so if you are trying to test a new product with pre-order, when you set it up within Shopify, just make sure that you set the quantity to zero. now the first thing I want to show you is how you can just set up a basic pre-order that allows people to just simply pre-order it and then go and purchase it at the checkout. so in order to do this, you can go and just turn this green pre-order on. once the pre-order is active, it will look like this with the message: however, you can go and change some of the settings. so if we click on default settings and from here you can change some of the settings. so firstly, it will say if pre-order is closed due to limit or date. so, for example, if you're only selling 100 as the maximum pre-orders that you're selling, then the message once those 100 have been purchased, will just say sold out. so you can go and change that to whatever you want to. you can add pre-order discounts. I'll show you how to do that in one moment. then you've got the button text. so where it says pre-order, you can go and put something else in the text if you want to. and then you have the button message, so when somebody hovers over it, where it says we will fill the fulfill the order as soon as it becomes available. you could go and put in a different message. so, for example, if it was a food item, you could say: try out brand new flavor, only 100 available, or something like that. however, I'm just going to leave it as the default and then you have the pre-order checkout label. so we'll just say pre-ordered items. I recommend to just leave that as the default. so when people are checking out, they still know that they are pre-ordering the item, so they know not to expect it right away. then you have the pre-order quantity limit. so, like I said, if you only want to sell a maximum of a 100 products that you're just testing out as the first batch, then you can go and turn this on and you can go and put in the quantity of 100 like this, and you can go and choose whether you want it to be 100 in total or if you want it to be a certain amount per day. so this is sort of adding scarcity to the product, especially with a pre-launch. if you are pre-launching a product and you want to build up excitement for it, then this is a really great tactik that you can use to make sure that you sell out your first batch and then you can go and put a notify on to try and sell out the second batch. so I'll be showing you how you can go and put a notify me when back in stok in a moment. so now, if we scroll down, you can schedule a pre-order so you can go and set up a pre-order for a date in the future. so, for example, if you were doing a product launch, you could go and tok about it on social media for a few days to build up the excitement and you can say you can pre-order it on this date so you can set up the pre-order. you could say: we're going to start selling on Saturday and you then you can go and set an end date so you could say we're going to stop selling the product on a certain date as well. and again, this is just going to bring in some scarcity to the product and that's a really good sales tactik to make sure that you sell the product out, because people are going to know that this is not going to be sold forever. the end date's coming soon, so I better purchase it now. so then you can display the pre-order end date and you can go and choose the date format. however you want to go and choose it. depending on different countries- the US and the UK- they display their date formats in different ways and then you can go and display a pre ordered time remaining, so it could say: we only have 24 hours left for you to pre-order the product. you can choose pre-order locations so, as I mentioned in the beginning of the video, if you wanted to go and test out a product or if you have it sold out in a certain country, then you can go and enter in a country. so we could go and say, for example, the United Kingdom or the United States, so it's only going to let people from that country pre-order the product. so it's totally up to you. I'm actually just going to let anybody pre-order this product from any country. then you have the pre-order badge. so this is going to just show on the actual product image itself. so you can go and turn this on if you want to and you can go and choose your pre-order badge. so it's going to show across like this. so it's totally up to you what style you want to use. I'm just going to go for this one and then you can go into choose the colors so you can make sure that it matches the rest of your store. so I'm just going to go and choose this color, for example, and then you can see that we've got the text color. so let me just change that again. w.

How To Add Custom Fields To Products On Shopify

hey guys, christian, here and today, we're going to go over a fairly new update where you can add custom fields to your products, and, of course, i'm going to show you some examples at the end. let's get started. custom fields, or meta fields, enable you to customize the functionality and appearance of your shopify store by letting you save specialized information that isn't usually captured by the shopify admin. you can use metafields for internal tracking or to display specialized information on your online store in a variety of ways. for example, a candle seller might want to display a burn time for candles on their product pages, while a grocery store may want to display a product expiration date for canned goods. in our example, we're actually going to add model information, recitan information, in a collapsible menu to the product page, so you can actually see that dynamic data on a per product basis, which you can do before. all right, and then, for those of you who don't know exactly what i'm toking about, i'm going to show you here in our totally 90s kit website. so i'm going to click on the little eyeball here, i'm going to open up and find one of our products. i'm gonna go to the fresh prince of bel air and click on the yellow shirt and when we tok about custom fields, if you think about all these right here. so the fresh prince design d, this is tiknically a field. this is the title of that product, right? uh? this is another field. this will be the pricing and so forth. so each of these things right here are tiknically fields. now, what you couldn't do before was add custom ones, and that's what we're going to show you how to do today. there's two ways to access the actual meta fields. i keep saying custom fields, but custom fields and meta fields are the same thing. but if we go here to settings and you'll see that now we have a meta fields option, it's going to be pretty fairly new. so, as you can see, some of the options here are still coming soon. so there will be some videos in the future that we'll be toking about meta fields and how to use them for collections, customers and orders. but for now we have products and variants as the only options that we can add extra midi fields. so we're gonna go to products and then in here we can add a new definition and then in here we can do- let's see product um sizing in the description. you can add a description, if you like. uh, this would be for, again, people who are inputting this information- you, they might need an extra description for it. so let's put. and then you have the option to select the content type. um, you have a lot of different things in here, as color, date and time file, json files, measurements, number rating, reference text- true or false- and urls. depending on what you pick based on these content type, it's going to be the exact content. so if you pick url, for example, you will have to type in a full url for that custom field to actually work. so in this, in this instance, we're just going to do product sizing, so it's going to be general text, so we're going to click on text for that. then in here you can do single line or you can do a multi-line, etc. and then validation, you can actually create rules so you can have a minimum length, a maximal length or, with the regular expression, there's certain keywords that need to be included within that partikular thing. i'm just going to save this just for now, just so we can kind of see what we're working with here. now, typically, when you go to your products- and let's go to the one that we were at, which is the- this one, the yellow shirt, just as i showed you those fields on the live website. the fields over here you'll see the, the title description, these are all different fields- the actual picture or media, the variants are all different fields. and then here towards the bottom, once we start adding custom fields or meta fields, you'll start seeing them populate right here. so, product sizing: we have it in here and we can add information. you see, the description will show right here at the bottom. it's a single line. click on save on that and now that we've saved that for that partikular product, now we're gonna go back to our online store and we're gonna click customize. but before we keep going on, i want to say welcome to everyone new. back. uh, this is a good, good learning opportunity here for us. in order to fully use the new meta fields, you have to use a online store 2.0 theme. these are newly created themes for this partikular feature set and for additional features that's coming in the future. so if your store is not a 2.0 store, you will need to upgrade to a better, more updated theme, which we will be making a video on this pretty soon, toking a little bit more in depth about that. but since this theme right here is tiknically not, uh, supported with the new os 2.0, we're going to click on exit real quick and i'm going to show you where you can find these new themes. now, some of the old themes. they have updated their themes to have the new 2.0 stuff, but you have to actually fully click the button and update it and you will see a message right here at the very top where it will say: hey, this theme has a new version. please update. please do, because it will include a lot of new features that you currently don't have and they will keep adding more in the future. now, um, i'm going to see explore free themes. when i click on that- and yeah, in here i believe that, yeah, the only one right now is the recording of this video. the only free theme is the dawn theme. so you see, it has a badge that says os 2.0. but there are a few other ones, so i'm going to click on both paid and free and have check mark the online store 2.0. you will see that some of the older ones, um, like fret, expand, streamline, uh, i remember avenues, one of the old ones, impulse- for these impulses i know a lot of our clients- motion is another one. so all these older ones, they have upgraded them to the 2.0 and, as you can see, the pricing has gone up a little bit on these, um, this one's 310, this is 300, 280, but it's because they opened up the floodgates to truly have a custom experience when it comes to to your themes. so for this partikular website that we're doing here, we're gonna just do dawn and i think i have it uploaded already here. see, yeah, dawn is right here. so what we're gonna do is we're actually gonna customize this one. that way we can kind of see what we're working with when it comes to these new meta fields, all right. so, yeah, in here we're going to go and do the same process: go to products and default product and then in here you can see the difference: um, the product information is actually broken down into each separate field, right? so potentially, if you wanted to hide the- i don't know the title of it, you can literally just hide the title by clicking a button, whereas before is probably a little bit more complicated and you have to do a little bit of custom code and custom work to it. now in order to add the precision information that we added, we're going to click on add block and then for this partikular theme, the don theme, it gives you a few options on what you can do. as far as the content, typically you may find that you just have the option for text, but you do have some other ones in here. i want to do the collapsible tab, because that's just additional information that doesn't need to be necessarily displayed right away. um, and once we click on- if you can see right here it's already been added- we can click on col.
