How to Setup Shipping in Shopify 2022

edwin anthony. here again back at it for resolution design and here again at another tutorial, just making it very simple for you guys how to set up shipping, and this is the 2022 version. i know i've been out of the map for a little bit, but i just want to give you a very quick tutorial seeing how i'm working on everything else with the academy. let's get right to it. so we're just going to set up a simple shipping, but strong disclosure. there's different type of companies. so if you're watching this, you're either one of two types of companies. you are either a drop shipping company, in other words, you're using a drop shipping company to supply your products, such as oberlo, aliexpress- you got all these other companies drop shipping right. you're either that type of watcher right now or you're a private supplier. you're a business owner that you have your own supplies. you get them shipped out to either your house or you get them shipped out to a private fulfillment center, and in that case, this is very, very most catered to you. but let's tok about those that are in drop shipping, guys. if you're in drop shipping, especially if you have more than one drop shipper, uh, just please keep in mind that those drop shipping companies, as orders come in, right inside of shopify, and it communicates to the drop shipping companies. they have different shipping carriers that they use in order to ship the product to your clients, and maybe even different shipping methods, prices, so on and so forth. what we're trying to solve here is, just straight to the point: how do we set up free shipping so that anybody who comes into your store, they just buy something and it's free shipping, that's it. or, if they want to set up, you know, hey, pay 6.99. that's what we're going to learn here today, so let's get right to it. okay, let's, let's jump right into it. so what you guys see right here is a demo store that we're working for a client, and the first thing that we're going to do is go to the bottom end corner on the lower left, where it says setting. so, right here, where it says settings, uh, what we're going to do- what, what- and what we're going to do is go to where it says shipping and delivery, and then, from here, you might see a screen like this. remember, shopify is changing all the time, so, depending on when you're watching this video, this can change, and if it does, let me know down in the comments so that i could go ahead and make an updated video. it's important for you guys to have these updated videos so that we could go ahead and, you know, give you the latest and greatest. so let's go right ahead. uh, right here we have shipping and we have manage rates. there's no rates so far, and one of the first things that we need to do, if you see the screen right here, is to create a profile, right, because without that, we cannot set up, okay. so, first step, what we're going to do is we're going to go right here where it says manage rates, and once we enter here, you'll notike some of the products that you have already set up. we're not going to dive into that, but notike how there isn't a focus to a country or anything of that sort, right? and so, again, considering in this specific scenario, we're going to pretend that you are a business that not only do you sell internally, meaning that you have your own products physically in your personal warehouse, but that you're also doing some type of uh connection with drop shipping. so you're doing a hybrid, right? that's what we're gonna do in this example here. so, right here, what we're going to do is. we're going to scroll all the way down and you'll notike that in this partikular example, we have two areas where it says not shipping from guys. it's very important that, before we even come here, if you're not seeing this below, you don't see an address, you don't see anything like that. let's go to where it says location, because i'm sure i'm gonna see some comments saying, hey, i didn't see that screen. go to locations first, right, and make sure that your location or your business address is located there. and when i say business address, um, it could be like a po box, right. but if you're gonna do like a po box, just keep in mind that the address for that po box, the post office, is literally the address of that location. so if you go to gps and you want to say where is that, where's my post office, it has a physical address, right, that's the address that you want to do. and then address number two: you'll put the po box and then the rest of it comes out like that, okay, so that's just an fy, a little bonus for you. so once you have your local area set up and you've already attached your drop shipping, let's go right here where it says manage rates, the physical address of your location plus the drop shipper you know, app, rather, if it's oberlo, if it's a whole bunch of these other places, and you'll see right here that will say add rates. and so this rule that i'm applying for this client, we're going to do first free shipping and, as an example, i'll do like a basic shipping, so that it's very easy. uh, remember, everything that we're doing is times two, because we're applying this globally, meaning that it's gonna be applied for the whole store. okay, that's what that means. let's go to the drop commerce first. we're gonna add a rate right here, click on that and it says add new rates and from here, within that box, it's strictly toking about that drop shipper. so, remember, if you have multiple drop shippers, you're doing what i'm showing you right now: multiply times, a few times all the drop shippers and then finally doing the same thing again for your local area, right? or for your address. so, right here, what we're going to do is, in this box, we're going to create a shipping zone. we're identifying exactly where in the world are we going to ship products to, not that we're physically shipping them, but where is the drop shipper shipping them. you understand what i mean. that's what i mean. so let's go ahead and create a shipping zone and in this shipping zone, my client specifically stated that they want to ship exclusively to the continental us, and that's exactly what we're going to do. so i'm gonna type right here the zone name, zone name- you could type whatever it is that you want- uh, continental us- excuse if i miss. type things of the sort right. and then from here, uh, i'm gonna see if i could type in usa to see if it pops out: no, okay, so united. okay, here we go, united states. all right, so we have it selected here and we have a nice little expansion right here. if i click on that, i get to see everything that's from within here. okay, so i see all the states. now, this is considered everything. we're including territories and all that stuff, if you select that box. so let me say that one more time: if i select this box over here, us, by default it's going to select not just the states but also its surrounding territories. and so if, for this focal point, if we want just the continental us, i would have to uncheck those areas where we do not want to provide shipping. so imagine that customer is from hawaii and they're not part of the continental us. when they go to check out, it'll just not let them finalize the purchase. it'll say: look, we don't, you know, ship to that area at the moment. check us, check back. oh, it's pretty soon. i can't tok today. i need more coffee anyways. so let me show you how that's done. all right, so in case, if you guys don't know, this is what i did. i unchecked alaska, american samoan, micronesia, guam, hawaii. uh, i took out what else? marshall islands, i took out north mariana island, palau, puerto rico, i took out virgin islands and all of the armed forces, okay, so i went ahead and pressed done on this one and you could see that it's tagged as well. not tagged, but labeled as continental us, or at least that's how i put it there. so that's just part of the process. so now it goes into. so what rates? now that we have a target focused towards where we're shipping to, what are the rates going to be? that's what this is about now. so let's go here where it says add rates and we have some options.

How to Add Shipping Cost on Shopify (SIMPLE)

in this video I'll show you how you can add shipping costs in your Shopify store. so for that you want to sign in and click on settings right there, and they'll then send you to the settings page, where you should be able to find shipping and delivery. so click on shipping and delivery. they will then send you over to the shipping page. so right there you'll find shipping and shipping rates as well. so first of all you want to click on manage rates. this will then send you over to that page, which probably has some presets installed already. so right there we have shipping to the Netherlands, which is five euros, almost five euros, right now. you then have shipping in Europe, almost 14 euros, and right there, rest of the world, 20 euros. so basically, what you can do, you can add different shipping zones. so the Netherlands is the shipping zone, Europe and then the rest of the world. if you want to add one, click on create shipping zone and you can- and choose a country. so let's say that you want to add shipping for the United States. you basically type in United States, right there, and then right there as well. so basically select the country or zones that you want to add. there we go. you can then scroll down and click on Add rate right there, and then you can actually set this up. so there are a few different ways and different things you can do so you can set up your own rates or use the carrier- use carry or app to calculate rates. so I'll just go off my loan for now. you can go to standard one now, for example, that could then be: if you base this on your order price. you could be, let's say, minimum price: zero, just like that, and then basically the fees and the shipping rate would be five euros. okay, so from zero go, I mean euros, in this case from zero. your, as on, they'll have to pay five euros and shipping. so with this you always have shipping. now the maximum price could also be, let's say, 50 euros, and if you didn't click on done, you've just added your first shipping rate. now let's say that you want free shipping after, like I mean, yeah, after 50 euros. so minimum 50 euros is no shipping rate. you can then do free shipping right there. you can then click on add conditions based on order price- minimum price: 50 euros- and then add zero euros shipping. click on done and you now have zero shipping from 50 euros and up. so that's pretty much how you can add shipping costs on your Shopify store. if this video helps you out, make sure you go ahead and leave a like on the video. that would help me out, and then I'll see you in the next video. have a good day.

How To Setup Shipping On Shopify - 2022 Tutorial

how to set up shipping on shopify. hi guys, welcome back. today i'm giving you a tutorial on shopify shipment and how we can set up shipping on shopify to run a successful business online. so let's get started. first, what you have to do is you will open up your shopify store and you will get to your admin right here. so you can see this is my shopify. i have this store, known as my suite closet, and this is the admin that i have for my store, and i'll show you how we can set up shipment, uh, for our shopify. it's really easy to do and we'll just, you know, do it step by step and it is going to be a beginner's tutorial for you guys to help you set up your shopify without any further ado. let's get into the process. once you have your shopify store, make sure that you have different products created. you can see we have this panel. we have home orders, product customers, analytiks, marketing and discount. so if you are already using shopify, you are quite familiar with these options. but when it comes to the shipping, we will have to go to the settings. so i will click on settings now and it will open up the settings for me, and in settings. we have different options, such as store details, plans, billing, user permission, payment, checkout, and then we have shipping and delivery. so you have to click on this option and it will open up all of the different options, the setup that we need to do in order to add shipping for shopify- and this is going to be for a shopify shipping. it's not going to be a third party or if you're using any other method. so this is going to be purely on shopify. so let's get into the process. you can see we have different options and i'll show you all of them until the last option. so the first option that we get in shipping is the you can see choose where you ship and how much you charge for shipping at checkout. so first we have to set up the rates for our shipping. just click on manage right here and it will allow you to set a shipping rate for your products. it will also show you the products that you have. you can see these are the products that i have, and then we have shipping from now you will select the country or the zone from where you are actually shipping and then you can select the standard rate. i'm gonna add a rate and you can see, set up your own rates. use carrier app to calculate rates. now it depends on the carrier as well. if they're charging me any delivery rates, then i will have to add that as well. or if i want to add my own rates, then i can do that too. so what i'm gonna do is: right now i am going with my own rates. keep in mind, if you go with zero, it's going to be free delivery. so i'm just gonna and name it standard and now i'm not gonna do free delivery, but i will be charging 200 in my currency. so you can see this is the price and i can add done or we can add conditions too. so once i click on done, it will show you the different rates that i have set up. moving on, we have rest of the world. now this is for the domestik shipping right here within your country, within your zone. but what if i am actually doing international shipping? then of course, the rate is going to be more. so we can add that rate. just click right here and again we have the same option. you will select standard and we can enter the amount. so this amount is going to be a little more than the you know other one, so i'm just going to go with 500.. perfect and click on. done so. this is the rate that we have for international shipping and this is the rate i have for domestik shipping. so our rates are done now and you just need to click on save and these changes will be saved right here so you can see profile updated and now we have our own rates. so we'll simply go back. we have set up the race. let's move on to the second option, which is the processing time. show delivery rates to your customers by setting a processing time if you process order in two business days or less. so i'm gonna click on manage and will take me to the processing date. so what we're gonna do is we're gonna add a processing time as well for the customers so that they can get an idea that, okay, it will take three business days, it will take two business days, maybe five business days, so they will actually, you know, wait for their parcel. that's what i'm gonna do is so the processing date is going to be two business days. so that's my processing time for the order and i'm gonna click on save. these changes will be saved as well. now let's go back. moving on, we have a local delivery. so this is where we can set up the local delivery option and it will allow me- and it is going to be, you know, according to your location that you have, so it depends on your- you can just go to store detail and it will show you your store address. so the local delivery is going to be from the zone that you are in right now. you cannot actually, you know, change it, but if you want to do that, just click on it and it will open it up and you can just set up. this location offers local delivery and, for example, sometimes if we have a store and then we do international deliveries, shipment, but at the same time we're doing local deliveries, so that's what it's for. so we have to enter our postal code right here- minimum order, delivery, price, time, delivery information- and it will set up a local delivery for this location right here. so i do not do local delivery, so i'm not gonna select it, but you just select the option and it gives you more options right here. so i'm just gonna like uncheck it and let's go back, all right, so the next option we have is local pickup. now, again, it's the same option as local delivery. if i have the local pickup option available for my store, i will just select this option and it will give me the option to actually add my- you know- pick up time, so we can just say: usually ready in 24 hours. um, this is the location. it's completely free. because there is no in pickup, we're not charging any fee. it's, of course, free. then we have order pickup instruction: bring your confirmation email when you come to collect your orders. this looks perfect. if i want to add something more, i can just type it right here and it will add it. so i'm not gonna do that, and i think this looks pretty good and my store actually offers a local pickup, so i'm gonna save this option. okay, it's done, let's go back. then we have the packages now. this is an important option in shipping, where we have to enter our packages details. so i'm going to click on add package. now you have to enter your package name. so if you have a store- and if you have, let's say, you have a clothing store and all of your packages are in a same box- then you will enter the details right here, just for once. if you do, if you're dealing in a thing where you actually wrap it in an envelope, you put it in envelope. you can just go with this one. then we have soft package or special. so it also depends on the type of material you're sending. if it's like a sensitive, then you can choose soft packaging as well. so mine is box and the package name- so for my package name- is going to be the same as my store name, so we can just name it whatever we want. and then we have length, width and height for the package that i have. so for length, what i'm going to do is i'm just going to like add different numbers and then we have weight when empty. so when it's empty it's actually 0.5. so this is my package details that i have. now. it depends on your packaging, of course. click on add package and the packaging detail will be added, so then you can see, you can calculate your shipping rate from here as well. moving on, we have packaging slips, so this is a simple template. let me show you how it looks like. click on edit and this is our- you know- package slip. now, this is a little coding here and you will get confused and you'll be like, oh my god, it's coding, how we're gonna do it. so it's very easy. you don't need to actually do anything. you just enter your order title right here and it's automatik as well. so let Shopify Shipping Settings | How To Setup Shipping Rates In Your Store

all right, what's going on, guys? this is jake, and in this video, i'm going to be showing you how you can go ahead and set up your shopify shipping rates within your store. getting right into it, the first thing you want to go ahead and do here is go into the back end of your store, click settings and then come over here to shipping and delivery, and once we open this up here, we're gonna see that we have an error page right here because we have no actual shipping rate set up. so we're gonna go ahead and set up some now. so all we have to do is come over here under shipping and the first thing we're going to do here is manage rates. now we can also create custom shipping rates with different shipping profiles, but i'll go ahead and show you how to do that later. so the first thing we're going to do here is just click on manage rates- and we're going to go ahead and open this up- and then we'll see a list of all of our products in our store right here and we'll see that all these products are added to this profile. so this general profile right here includes all of the products in our store. so these shipping rates will apply to our entire store. so we can see down here. we have two sections here. we have domestik shipping, so this is to your home country, so in this case for me it's the united states- and then we have the rest of the world. so we're gonna go ahead and start off with domestik shipping rates first. so we're gonna go ahead and click on add rate. so there's two different ways that we can add rates here: so we can set up our own rates or we can use a carrier to calculate rates. so first let me show you how you can set up your own and then we'll go through the calculated rates next. so as far as setting up our own rate goes, first thing we can go ahead and do here is select a shipping speed right here, so we can choose the estimated shipping speed here that we're going to be sending our packages out with. or we could go ahead and choose custom flat rate with no shipping time. but i would recommend go ahead and choosing the shipping speed that's going to closely match that service in which you are going to be using, and then, right here, we can go ahead and edit the actual price of this shipping rate. so let's say we just wanted to have a flat 10 shipping fee on all orders for shipping to the us. we could go ahead and do that and we'd be done. but let's say we wanted to go ahead and add some conditions to this. we go ahead and click add conditions here and then we can go ahead and see here that we can go ahead and edit our shipping prices based on the actual item weight or based on the order price. so let's say we wanted to go ahead and have 10 shipping rate for orders that are all 10 pounds and below. i could go ahead and click done and now we can see right here that all orders- the total 10 pounds and below- will be 10 to ship. now let's go ahead and add another one here. so if i went ahead and added another one, another standard rate here. now let's say in this case it's 20 and the condition for this could be 11 pounds and up. so this would mean all order weights. whenever a customer places an order, if their order weight is between 0 and 10 pounds, then they will pay 10 for shipping, but if it's 11 pounds or more, then they will pay 20 for shipping. so that's just one example of how you can go ahead and use the conditions to edit your shipping rates. another common one here is a free shipping rate based on order value. so let's say we have this price here is free, and we add the condition and we base this on order price. so let's say, here we wanted to do free shipping on all orders of 50 or more. we could put in 50 as the minimum price and click done so. now, anytime our customer goes to check out and they have more than 50 or more of stuff in their cart, they will be offered a free shipping rate. so that's how you can go ahead and set up your own shipping rates. but now let's go ahead and take a look at the actual carrier calculated rate. so if i go ahead and click on this here, once this loads up, we can see that we can choose between three different providers. we can use dhl, express, ups or usps and we for on each one of these, we will also be getting discounted rates from shopify shipping. so we can go ahead and just use whichever one that you want to use for your order fulfillment. in this case, i'm going to go ahead and just pick usps and we can select different services that we want to go ahead and offer and, depending on the actual customer's address, the weight of the packages and the dimensions of the actual shipping box, this is going to determine which services are available for them and how much they cost. so some common ones here could be. we could offer first class package and priority mail and, like i said, this is going to depend. this is going to vary depending on what you are actually shipping. and when it comes to these calculated shipping rates, one thing you want to ensure is that on your partikular product pages, you want to make sure that the product weight is accurate, because if the product weight is inaccurate, then your calculated shipping rates are also going to be inaccurate. so if you're going to use calculated rates, make sure that the product weight on each of your product listings is completely accurate. now, that said, we can also choose to add a handling fee if we want so. if you want to have a flat handling fee for each order, you can do that by adding, say, a one percent handling fee or a flat handling fee of, say, five dollars. in this case, i'm going to just go ahead and leave that blank and click done so. now we've went ahead and added the calculated shipping rate which shows up right here. so now that we've added some domestik rates, let's go ahead and take a look at the rest of the world. so as far as adding shipping rates for the rest of the world, it's pretty much going to work in the same exact way. so we can just go ahead and click add rate and we can once again do the same thing. we can either set up our own rates or we can use a carrier to calculate the rates once again. now, when it comes to international shipping, this is where things typically get a bit trickier, in the sense that it's going to be a lot more expensive and the prices are going to be a little bit harder to nail down. so for international, i would recommend using calculated if you can. but as far as setting up your own rates, you can go ahead and do the same thing as before. so you could go ahead and do standard international, and let's say that we just wanted all international shipping to be thirty dollars flat, no matter what. we could just go ahead and click done and we have that in there. and let's say we wanted to go ahead and create another one. here we could go ahead and use the calculated rates and this would work exactly the same. we can go ahead and pick our carrier right here, we can go ahead and pick these two right here, and then we can go ahead and click done once again. so the international rates work pretty much the same as domestik. but let's say that you don't want to ship to the entire world because let's see, right now we, you can see that this, these shipping rates apply to the rest of the world. let's say you only want to ship to a specific country, so what you can actually do here is come up here to create shipping zone. so in this case, let's say we only wanted to ship to canada because that's right next to the us. we could go ahead and select canada and we could name this canada right here and we can go ahead and click done. so now we can see we have a rate for domestik united states and we have rates for canada and we have rates for the rest of the world. so let's go ahead and add a rate for canada really quickly. so we could just go ahead and add in the calculated rates once again. so first class priority, international, and go ahead and just click done and there we go, we have rates to canada, and if we don't want to ship to the rest of the world, we can go ahead and just go ahead and edit this by clicking delete. and now our store on.

How to Add Shopify Shipping Rates - Free Shipping, Flat Rate Shipping, & Weight-Based Shipping

hey guys, sam here from keycommercecom. in this video, i'm going to show you how to set up your shipping settings in shopify. we're starting on the shopify dashboard. you're going to start by going to settings down the bottom in the settings panel. here we're going to go to shipping and delivery. now this is where we adjust all our shipping rates. first thing i'll say is that there are three main ways that you can set up shipping, and this depends on your products, your store and how you're fulfilling your products. how do these products actually get to the customer? it's gonna depend on your store, so you need to think about this for your products, what suppliers you're using, or if you're shipping them out of your own warehouse or your garage or wherever. okay, the three main ways are free shipping, where any order that comes through, you don't charge the customer for shipping. the second way is a flat price. this might be a fixed price that you charge, say, 10 on every single order. and the third way is weight based- okay, and you can set this up too. you can hook it up with your carrier so you can have an integration there so it calculates the weight of all your products and works out the shipping rates. you can do that too. another thing, before i dive into the details, is that you can set up profiles. okay, profiles are ways for you to categorize different products and give them different shipping rates. for example, maybe you're drop shipping and you have a bunch of products from that supplier that have a certain shipping rate, or you can add a profile and group those products together, charge a specific rate for those products and charge a different rate for other products. we'll go through that in a little bit, but firstly we're going to go through how to actually set up your shipping overall for your entire store. so on this page here you'll see it has shipping. here it says general shipping rates, all products. we're going to click manage rates. okay, so we have our products here and be aware that when you use this general profile, this is for all the products on your store. then any new products you add are generally going to be added to this profile as well and this shipping information is going to be applied to them. we're just going to scroll down and go to shipping 2 and we're going to create a shipping zone. this is an area that you're going to be shipping to. you can use this for countries, or for entire continents, or the whole world, depending on what you actually want to charge your customers for shipping. so i'm going to set this for australia. i'm going to search for australia here, select australia, and it's going to be for all of australia: click done. now that we have our zone ready, we're now going to add in our rates. click add rate. now, like i said before, you can set up integrations and apps to actually calculate your rates for you and, depending on what fulfillment service you're using, if you're using a different carrier, you can actually let their app calculate the rates for you, because they might have their own tables depending on dimensions or weights or what have you to start off with. we're going to set our own rates. if you want to set up free shipping for all your products, which is quite a common thing, you can set the rate name to just be free shipping. add that in. the price is going to be free. click done and there you've got free shipping for australia. it's that easy. it's super, super easy. but say: we want to add a flat rate as well, we can add a new rate, or we can actually edit this one and change this to standard shipping, whatever you want to call it. this is what customers are going to see at checkout and i'm gonna put ten dollars per order and click done. now all customers, when they go to your checkout, they're gonna see standard shipping for ten dollars. now what if you wanna segment your products and charge different rates depending on their weights, the product, their price? well, you can do this by just clicking the buttons here and go edit rate. we can now add in conditions clicking this conditions button here, and we can add in conditions based on the item, weight or based on the order price. now we can actually set the range for the weights for this order. so if the minimum weight is 0 kilograms or pounds, and up to 10 kilograms it's going to be, say, 10. we can then add a new rate here. i'm going to call it heavy shipping and it's going to be twenty dollars at conditions. it's gonna be weight, minimum weight: ten dollars up to 50 kilograms. so now here we have a standard shipping for ten dollars, zero to ten kilograms, and then twenty dollars for ten to fifty kilograms. that can be pounds. you know, this is just the metric that we're using for this store. that's how you do it, based on weight, but you can also do it based on price. let me delete these. change the rate name. so standard shipping it's going to be 10. add conditions based on order price and i'm going to set the range for the pricing for zero to fifty dollars. see what i do here: i'm gonna add a new rate. what i've done here is i put in the rate name free shipping on orders over fifty dollars with a price of zero dollars ad conditions: order price. minimum price: fifty dollars. so now if people spend less than fifty dollars, they're going to pay ten dollars in shipping, but if they spend over fifty dollars, they get free shipping. this is a great way that you can encourage people to spend more on your store, increase your average order values and make more profit per customer, as long as that makes sense for you in terms of how much you're actually paying for your own shipping yourself. now that we've added it for australia, you can add other shipping zones here by going create shipping zone and repeat the process, depending on what countries, continents, what areas you're actually shipping to. if you're doing free worldwide shipping, you can also do that too. create shipping zone rest of the world for all the people that are not in australia, you can set a new rate just for them as well, so you might have one rate for just the us customers and then a different rate rest the world for everybody else. it's really up to you and how you want to run your store. now that's how you set up shipping. if you want to do free shipping, fixed rate shipping or based on weight or price, if you want to set up shipping for specific products, you can go back and go to create new profile. what this allows you to do is create a whole new umbrella at the top which is for specific products. for example, if i just want to show a certain shipping rate for surfboards, because surfboards are very bulky and they cost a lot more for me to ship them, then i can create a profile called surfboards and then when i click add products, i can just add in only the surfboards, so this wetsuit here doesn't get added to this profile. once i do that, i can create the shipping zones and all the different rates, just like i did earlier. guys, when you set up your shipping, make sure you think about for your own store how you're shipping to customers, but also keep in mind how you actually want to sell. what i mean by this is, just like i showed you, that you can have free shipping for orders over 50. you can use your shipping as a sales and marketing strategy. a lot of people don't want to pay for shipping. that's the long and short of it. that's how the world works these days. people love to see free shipping, even if they know that it's built into the actual price of the products. so i recommend really thinking about your store. think about your customers. what they would really like to see. do they expect to pay for shipping? if they're ordering something like a surfboard, people are more likely to be willing to pay for shipping because they understand it's a big and bulky item. but if it's something smaller, adding free shipping can be a great promotional tiknique that you can show on your ads on your website. even encourage people to spend more money on your store by having free shipping over a certain amount of the order value. so t.

How to Set Up Shipping on Shopify 2021

one of the most crucial parts of actually fulfilling an order online is the shipping process. you want to make sure that you're charging enough for shipping for your customer, but you're not actually going to be losing money as well in covering shipping cost. so in this video, i'm going to show you exactly how to set up your shipping settings in the back end of your shopify store. so i'd say that shipping is actually probably one of the most asked questions that i get every single week. it can be confusing, and how to set it up if you have different size, products or rates, or should you do free shipping? so i wanted to make a complete shipping guide for 2021 of how to set up shipping for your shopify store. so to get to the shipping settings in your shopify back-end, you're going to go to settings and then shipping there. so now that we're in the shipping and delivery section, we can see that we have a couple different delivery methods here, and we're also getting a warning because we don't have any shipping rates set up here, so customers aren't able to see shipping on our checkouts. we're going to add in some shipping rates here, but i also wanted to showcase that there are a couple other delivery methods now that shopify has added in, so you can see here that there's also a local delivery and a local pickup. we're not going to be going over those in this video. however, you can go in and just click on this manage if you want to add delivery options or pick up options, and you can click that, select your location once you've got that added in and show that, yes, this offers local delivery, and then choose from here either your settings of setting up based on zip code or a delivery radius and then add in the delivery price and any additional information. if we also go back and we choose local pickup, you can see here we hit manage, you can select on this and you can also customize the information of the pickup instructions as well as choose how quickly the pickup is ready to be picked up at that location. so we're not going to go in and customize any of that. we're going to focus on the shipping settings, but i did want to highlight that those are options that are available. so in the shipping area- here you can see we have a general shipping rates which all products are going into automatikally, and all new products that you add would also go into this shipping rate. you can also go in and create a new profile. so let's first start out by managing the rates in our general shippings area, and then i'll also show you what the benefit of a new profile is as well. so let's click on manage rates and you can see we have two products that are just the two test products in our store that are already added into this profile, and it says that any new products we add in are automatikally going to be added to this profile as well. you can also see here our shipping from. this is our warehouse location, so this is automatikally being pulled in, and if you wanted to, you could click on manage and change the location there. now we have options of where we're actually shipping things to, as well as other zones that are not covered. so first let's start out by adding some rates to our united states shipping zone, which is actually where we're located, so we can click on add rate and then we have a couple options so you can first just create your own rate or you can use carrier calculated rates. so if we choose to set up our own rates, we have our first option. here is our shipping speed, so you can choose how you want to have this shown to your customers- of the general shipping speed, of how many business days, or you can choose to have no shipping time shown. so i'm going to just choose standard here. and then you have the price, which currently- right now- is free. so let's go in and for shipping rates, we can just say that we can create this to be whatever it is that we want it to be. so let's say, ten dollars is the price of shipping. so this would be a flat rate that you decide based on what you feel is comfortable for your products. you would need to do some research to feel comfortable knowing exactly what that number could be, and you can always come back in and change it if you find that you are charging too much or too little for shipping. you can also click on add conditions and now we can set a condition for this price. so we can do it based on either the item weight, so you could make heavier products actually cost more to ship, or you can do it based on the order price. so this is a really cool way to do free shipping on your store. so we can do it based on order price and say the minimum order price is zero and the maximum order price is 74.99, so we could say: anything under 75 dollars is ten dollars to ship, and we'll just hit done. so you can see here again: standard shipping zero to seventy four, ninety nine, three to four business days, and the price is ten dollars. so now, if we wanted to add in free shipping, we would just click add rate again. keep this at our own rates. i'm going to keep that at standard. we won't add in a price here, so it's set as free and do conditions order price, and now we're going to set the minimum price of 75, and i'm not going to put in a max price. so that means anything from 75 and above is going to be free for them for shipping, and so that's a great way to add in free shipping. if you've chosen to do that on your site, you do want to make sure, though, that with free shipping, that you're still able to cover your cost and the number makes sense for you, so that you don't end up losing money. now let's go in and do a rate based on a calculated carrier provider, so we'll hit add rate, and now we're going to use carrier or app to calculate rates from here. you have a couple different options from this drop down and you have dhl ups or usps so you can get a discounted rate from shopify because of using them. so let's just use usps and you can choose here the services that you want to provide. so we could say we just want to do priority mail. again, these will cost different based on the company that you go with. so you want to make sure, whenever you're selecting these, that you have researched your provider, like usps, and you know if your product can actually be classified to be sent through things like media mail or if it's not eligible for that, as well as how much the general rate is for that. it's always great to send a couple test packages to see exactly how that works out. so for this example, i'm just going to keep priority mail- the only one- checked, and you can also choose if you want to automatikally show new shipping services to customers when they become available. so that would be clicking this option here. however, i typically leave this off and i just manage this myself, so that way i'm not being having new services added in without me really knowing it. you can also then add in a handling fee, so this could be to adjust the rate that is calculated for you. so usps, once you enable this on your site, is going to calculate based off of your location and where the customer actually is. so instead of getting that flat rate fee of 10 like we set up, the customer would see something like 7.37 based on wherever their location is. so it is a lot more of a specific number. however, you can choose to add a certain percentage additional or a flat rate amount additional- if you see on average it's costing you just a little bit more. or also to cover your additional cost for packing materials, like the priority mail box to send it in or any tissue paper things like that. so you would just come in and you would say that you wanted to add, let's say, two dollars flat amount to that. so it's going to add whatever this priority mail amount is to actually ship it to them, plus two dollars to that to give a final shipping total and we'll just hit done. and now you can see here: we have our rates here and we have our carrier and app rates listed here, and you can also see here the handling fee that we've got added in. now this is just for the united states.
