00:00:20 00:00:23 to a point where you can consistently
00:00:22 00:00:26 create videos or how do you execute on a
00:00:23 00:00:28 video even if you're not somebody who
00:00:26 00:00:30 can just spit at a camera like i can
00:00:28 00:00:33 right and i tend to be able to teach
00:00:30 00:00:34 kind of impromptu whatever it is i i
00:00:33 00:00:36 become a teacher all the time and i
00:00:34 00:00:38 think if you want to do good videos you
00:00:36 00:00:40 should take the mindset that you're you
00:00:38 00:00:42 want to be a teacher and ultimately what
00:00:40 00:00:43 you're trying to do is to help other
00:00:42 00:00:45 people who have a problem where they're
00:00:43 00:00:47 stuck in the here
00:00:45 00:00:50 that they're stuck right and you want to
00:00:47 00:00:52 help them have a preferable future of
00:00:50 00:00:54 their so you bring people from here to
00:00:52 00:00:56 there and as long as what you're doing
00:00:54 00:00:58 is you're helping people frame up
00:00:56 00:01:00 whenever you open up a youtube channel
00:00:58 00:01:02 how are you helping them you wanna if
00:01:00 00:01:04 you add value into people's lives uh
00:01:02 00:01:06 whatever kind of problem that you're
00:01:04 00:01:08 solving that's the key right people i
00:01:06 00:01:11 have this small youtuber group on
00:01:08 00:01:12 facebook that i'm a member of and god
00:01:11 00:01:14 bless them but they're always wondering
00:01:12 00:01:16 how do you get more subscribers i don't
00:01:14 00:01:18 give very much watch time how do i get
00:01:16 00:01:20 watch time and it's like well
00:01:18 00:01:21 there's a number of reasons you might
00:01:20 00:01:23 not be engaging you know might not be
00:01:21 00:01:27 very good in front of of the camera but
00:01:23 00:01:29 ultimately is are you adding value in
00:01:27 00:01:30 fact a lot of them say i don't care how
00:01:29 00:01:32 much i make i just want to make videos
00:01:30 00:01:34 because i love making videos well that's
00:01:32 00:01:37 a terrible reason to make videos maybe
00:01:34 00:01:39 you like to tell stories maybe you like
00:01:37 00:01:40 to entertain and get a smile but if it's
00:01:39 00:01:43 about you
00:01:40 00:01:44 that's not very helpful in fact it's
00:01:43 00:01:47 very hard to make videos that are about
00:01:44 00:01:49 you and have anybody care about it right
00:01:47 00:01:51 really what you want to do is add value
00:01:49 00:01:53 and what adding value does is help
00:01:51 00:01:55 people move from some sort of here to
00:01:53 00:01:56 some sort of there right now maybe that
00:01:55 00:01:58 you're an authority on a subject matter
00:01:56 00:02:00 and you're going to teach it right maybe
00:01:58 00:02:01 you have experiences that you want to
00:02:00 00:02:03 share so that people get it or maybe you
00:02:01 00:02:05 want to share your life so that people
00:02:03 00:02:06 can be encouraged by it or maybe tell
00:02:05 00:02:08 your story or tell other people's
00:02:06 00:02:09 stories those are all great reasons to
00:02:08 00:02:11 create videos but for you to create
00:02:09 00:02:13 videos because you like creating videos
00:02:11 00:02:15 or that you want to become a youtuber
00:02:13 00:02:16 pretty terrible reason it's not going to
00:02:15 00:02:18 work and on the same side if you're a
00:02:16 00:02:20 small business owner if the reason why
00:02:18 00:02:21 you're making videos is try and get rich
00:02:20 00:02:23 or to try and drive sales that's kind of
00:02:21 00:02:25 a silly reason to do it the reason why
00:02:23 00:02:28 you should be creating videos is to add
00:02:25 00:02:30 value in people's lives now that being
00:02:28 00:02:32 said creating content on youtube and
00:02:30 00:02:34 then taking that and dicing it up in a
00:02:32 00:02:36 lot of ways can lead to a ton of sales
00:02:34 00:02:37 in fact i make about 900 a month on my
00:02:36 00:02:40 youtube channel i hardly do anything on
00:02:37 00:02:41 it um compared to what most do i don't
00:02:40 00:02:44 get that many views but it's business
00:02:41 00:02:45 content and it drives my business um
00:02:44 00:02:47 most of you are gonna call us like our
00:02:45 00:02:50 business thrives because we've invested
00:02:47 00:02:52 in here and you can too but the core the
00:02:50 00:02:54 main core of how you make good videos is
00:02:52 00:02:57 you have to think of i'm teaching people
00:02:54 00:03:00 to move them from a bad situation to a
00:02:57 00:03:01 better or a mediocre to a great right
00:03:00 00:03:03 what you want to do is you want to help
00:03:01 00:03:05 them your content needs to be about them
00:03:03 00:03:07 it's not about you
00:03:05 00:03:08 and if it's about you
00:03:07 00:03:11 then it needs to be about sharing your
00:03:08 00:03:13 story so that somebody can experience a
00:03:11 00:03:15 better future right so that they can
00:03:13 00:03:17 have their life added value to and you
00:03:15 00:03:19 can head in the upward and forward
00:03:17 00:03:20 direction if you're just out there
00:03:19 00:03:21 making stuff for you it ain't gonna work
00:03:20 00:03:23 but as long as that's the foundation
00:03:21 00:03:26 what you're doing let me help you out a
00:03:23 00:03:29 little bit so first of all um i would
00:03:26 00:03:31 i would start writing down and start
00:03:29 00:03:33 writing okay so anytime that you're
00:03:31 00:03:35 going to write a video i would first map
00:03:33 00:03:37 out kind of the game plan like what is
00:03:35 00:03:39 the main point what's the thing you're
00:03:37 00:03:40 trying to do and really what i would do
00:03:39 00:03:43 is frame up
00:03:40 00:03:44 what's their problem what's the solution
00:03:43 00:03:46 and what's the result
00:03:44 00:03:49 right so what's the problem that they
00:03:46 00:03:51 have how are they stuck here and what do
00:03:49 00:03:53 you want to help them with so start
00:03:51 00:03:55 every video with like they have this
00:03:53 00:03:57 problem and i want to help them overcome
00:03:55 00:03:59 it in this way that's a good framework
00:03:57 00:04:02 to think of right so that's the first
00:03:59 00:04:04 thing the second thing is to think of um
00:04:02 00:04:07 you need to get down
00:04:04 00:04:10 kind of like the core problem solution
00:04:07 00:04:11 and result that you do okay and we call
00:04:10 00:04:13 that the one liner and the reason why
00:04:11 00:04:14 i'm toking about writing this down is
00:04:13 00:04:16 so that
00:04:14 00:04:18 if you write something down and you
00:04:16 00:04:21 wrestle through making something clear
00:04:18 00:04:24 by by simplifying it and crafting a
00:04:21 00:04:25 great sentence you will internalize what
00:04:24 00:04:27 it is that you're trying to do and
00:04:25 00:04:29 you'll be able to spit to a camera just
00:04:27 00:04:31 about any time right so as long as you
00:04:29 00:04:32 can spit to the camera you're going to
00:04:31 00:04:34 be good but if you can't spit to the
00:04:32 00:04:35 camera it's not going to be so good
00:04:34 00:04:37 because you'll have nothing to fall back
00:04:35 00:04:39 on and then the result is you're going
00:04:37 00:04:41 to have to spend more resources making
00:04:39 00:04:44 it perfect right but if you just have
00:04:41 00:04:46 inside of you this idea that what you do
00:04:44 00:04:48 is you help people go from here to there
00:04:46 00:04:50 you know what i help restaurants and you
00:04:48 00:04:52 know get through all the quagmire by by
00:04:50 00:04:55 figuring out their their launch plan
00:04:52 00:04:57 right and really if you stik to that
00:04:55 00:04:59 and if you write down that one liner so
00:04:57 00:05:01 on my website if you go to the bottom of
00:04:59 00:05:03 my website um the very bottom there's
00:05:01 00:05:06 two things there one's called a brand
00:05:03 00:05:09 scripting link and the other one says

00:05:09 00:05:11 is all off of the book and you should
00:05:10 00:05:13 read this book you should listen to this
00:05:11 00:05:15 book you should read it 10 times
00:05:13 00:05:18 donald miller wrote it donald miller and
00:05:15 00:05:21 it's called marketing made simple
00:05:18 00:05:23 marketing made simple
00:05:21 00:05:25 and what he has done he has a secondary
00:05:23 00:05:28 book that's kind of like the the grand
00:05:25 00:05:30 thesis on it called brand scripting
00:05:28 00:05:32 brand scripting or story story brand
00:05:30 00:05:34 marketing story brand marketing is what
00:05:32 00:05:35 it's called and what in there they do
00:05:34 00:05:37 this thing called a brand script and
00:05:35 00:05:38 essentially
00:05:37 00:05:40 there are
00:05:38 00:05:41 a brand script is
00:05:40 00:05:43 something that he teaches that there's
00:05:41 00:05:44 multiple parts to and basically what you
00:05:43 00:05:46 do is you do one of them is that you
00:05:44 00:05:49 create a one-liner and that's your
00:05:46 00:05:50 elevator pitch of what's the problem
00:05:49 00:05:53 the solution and the result what's the
00:05:50 00:05:54 problem that most of your customers have
00:05:53 00:05:56 the solution that you provide and really
00:05:54 00:05:58 what's the result that they will
00:05:56 00:06:00 experience with the benefit the payoff
00:05:58 00:06:02 right there has to be a payoff so really
00:06:00 00:06:04 it's you know what most
00:06:02 00:06:05 contractors
00:06:04 00:06:07 really struggle
00:06:05 00:06:08 taking all the good work they do in
00:06:07 00:06:11 person
00:06:08 00:06:13 and putting it on the internet what we
00:06:11 00:06:15 do is we make that easy so that your
00:06:13 00:06:17 future customers and prospects can find
00:06:15 00:06:20 you and you can make more sales and make
00:06:17 00:06:23 higher margin sales and it ultimately
00:06:20 00:06:25 makes it easier on your sales team
00:06:23 00:06:27 that's a one-liner to a construction
00:06:25 00:06:29 right for for a home builder or
00:06:27 00:06:32 remodeler right and there so what you
00:06:29 00:06:33 want to do is what we do is we help most
00:06:32 00:06:35 business owners
00:06:33 00:06:37 get stuck either hiring someone to do
00:06:35 00:06:39 bookkeeping and it's not done right
00:06:37 00:06:42 overpaying taxes
00:06:39 00:06:43 or getting things done improperly what i

00:06:43 00:06:47 is i serve as an outsourced accountant

00:07:01 00:07:04 have to worry about anything so they
00:07:03 00:07:06 minimize their taxes so they never
00:07:04 00:07:08 overpay in taxes right
00:07:06 00:07:11 so if you think of that problem solution
00:07:08 00:07:13 result that's one central core part of
00:07:11 00:07:15 what you do the other thing that you
00:07:13 00:07:17 want to do is develop what's called the
00:07:15 00:07:18 stakes and the stakes are where you
00:07:17 00:07:21 raise the temperature
00:07:18 00:07:22 about the cost of getting this wrong
00:07:21 00:07:24 right
00:07:22 00:07:27 so the cost of getting it wrong for my
00:07:24 00:07:29 business if you decide to just grow your
00:07:27 00:07:30 business without excellent digital
00:07:29 00:07:32 marketing a couple of things are gonna
00:07:30 00:07:34 happen number one you're gonna you're
00:07:32 00:07:36 not gonna be able to capture the trust
00:07:34 00:07:37 that you've earned and display it to the
00:07:36 00:07:40 right person at the right time number
00:07:37 00:07:42 two you'll never get the benefit of
00:07:40 00:07:45 leverage that digital gives you we can
00:07:42 00:07:46 take one conversation that you've had
00:07:45 00:07:48 and display it to everybody at just the
00:07:46 00:07:50 right time the other thing is you'll
00:07:48 00:07:53 lose market share by you not having
00:07:50 00:07:55 google ads on your running for your
00:07:53 00:07:58 business you're just giving up free easy
00:07:55 00:08:00 business it will take you more time more
00:07:58 00:08:02 people and more effort to actually
00:08:00 00:08:04 prospect and sell
00:08:02 00:08:06 if you don't have an excellent website
00:08:04 00:08:08 that does the selling for you and one of
00:08:06 00:08:12 the main problems with that is unclear
00:08:08 00:08:14 messaging and a bad process so
00:08:12 00:08:16 this is the the stakes is where you can
00:08:14 00:08:17 raise the temperature and really for an
00:08:16 00:08:19 accountant for example you would start
00:08:17 00:08:21 toking about
00:08:19 00:08:23 the cost of hiring somebody part-time
00:08:21 00:08:25 right if they were to hire somebody
00:08:23 00:08:27 eight hours a week at 25 an hour to do
00:08:25 00:08:28 their bookkeeping for you that's not
00:08:27 00:08:30 going to be a very good solution for a
00:08:28 00:08:33 number of reasons it costs them money
00:08:30 00:08:35 it's not done really well um and i could
00:08:33 00:08:36 go on so the idea here is you want to
00:08:35 00:08:38 think of statements
00:08:36 00:08:40 and explainers and have them on your
00:08:38 00:08:41 website but also in your content for
00:08:40 00:08:43 your video so
00:08:41 00:08:45 that's another thing you'd want to have
00:08:43 00:08:46 developed and if you write that and you
00:08:45 00:08:48 have that then you can work from that as
00:08:46 00:08:49 you create videos right so that's more
00:08:48 00:08:51 of like a
00:08:49 00:08:53 a how do you do that for business right
00:08:51 00:08:55 so this isn't necessarily relevant to a
00:08:53 00:08:56 youtuber but it kind of is because what
00:08:55 00:08:58 you're going to do is you're going to
00:08:56 00:09:00 tok about why should they listen to you
00:08:58 00:09:01 what's the importance of getting their
00:09:00 00:09:03 problem solved if they don't get their
00:09:01 00:09:05 problem solved through this video or
00:09:03 00:09:07 take a step with you because you've kind
00:09:05 00:09:09 of nudged them towards it in this video
00:09:07 00:09:10 what's it gonna cost them because if
00:09:09 00:09:12 things don't cost them anything there's
00:09:10 00:09:14 no point in getting the problem solved
00:09:12 00:09:17 in fact most businesses when people have
00:09:14 00:09:19 an idea for a business you have to take
00:09:17 00:09:21 a significant problem that people
00:09:19 00:09:22 actually feel that has a cost to them if
00:09:21 00:09:24 you're just
00:09:22 00:09:26 here's a little side rant i've gone in
00:09:24 00:09:28 and seen like the the crowdfunding
00:09:26 00:09:31 presentations out there the crowdfunding
00:09:28 00:09:33 is like our number one problem is that
00:09:31 00:09:35 people don't drink enough water and
00:09:33 00:09:38 under hydration and dehydration leads to
00:09:35 00:09:40 blood that ain't a problem you're making
00:09:38 00:09:41 a water bottle with a tracker on it
00:09:40 00:09:42 because you think people are actually
00:09:41 00:09:44 suffering because they don't drink
00:09:42 00:09:46 enough water what are you that that's a
00:09:44 00:09:49 stupid idea
00:09:46 00:09:50 go away you got to find big problems so
00:09:49 00:09:52 the way once you've found big problems
00:09:50 00:09:54 sometimes you got to cast vision for how
00:09:52 00:09:56 big it is right put a future value on
00:09:54 00:09:57 those numbers right start toking to
00:09:56 00:09:59 them in fact this is a big one for an
00:09:57 00:10:00 accountant you think about this if you
00:09:59 00:10:03 can go in and and if somebody's making
00:10:00 00:10:04 125 thousand dollars in an llc you make
00:10:03 00:10:06 them an s corp and you end up saving
00:10:04 00:10:08 them about five hundred dollars a month
00:10:06 00:10:10 or six grand with the se taxes you take
00:10:08 00:10:11 that and you put it into a solo 401k or
00:10:10 00:10:13 even just a brokerage account they
00:10:11 00:10:15 invested in an s p 500 index and they
00:10:13 00:10:18 get an eight percent return over 30
00:10:15 00:10:20 years 500 a month over 30 35 years ends
00:10:18 00:10:22 up being you know six hundred thousand a
00:10:20 00:10:23 million dollars depending on how long
00:10:22 00:10:25 you leave it in there so then becoming
00:10:23 00:10:26 an s corp you literally quite literally
00:10:25 00:10:27 will make them a millionaire in the
00:10:26 00:10:29 future
00:10:27 00:10:32 that's insane right
00:10:29 00:10:33 so you gotta raise that temperature not
00:10:32 00:10:36 only that you should just start putting
00:10:33 00:10:38 on the how many opportunities they miss
00:10:36 00:10:39 by having finances that are a joke have
00:10:38 00:10:41 you tried to get a loan are you trying
00:10:39 00:10:43 to get into commercial real estate so
00:10:41 00:10:44 you can really expand your business are
00:10:43 00:10:46 you trying to buy a new house are you
00:10:44 00:10:47 trying to get more equipment so that you
00:10:46 00:10:49 can scale can you never hire that next
00:10:47 00:10:50 person because your cash flow is a
00:10:49 00:10:53 conundrum right
00:10:50 00:10:54 um so the stakes is all about raising
00:10:53 00:10:56 the temperature right then you have the
00:10:54 00:10:57 benefits right these are really just
00:10:56 00:10:59 what do they get when they work with you
00:10:57 00:11:00 what are they getting from this video so
00:10:59 00:11:02 what are the benefits the payoffs the
00:11:00 00:11:04 good stuff the steaks are like the the
00:11:02 00:11:06 salt in the recipe right you just
00:11:04 00:11:08 sprinkle it in the salt in a cookie
00:11:06 00:11:09 recipe whereas the sugar and the flour
00:11:08 00:11:11 and the butter is the good stuff in a
00:11:09 00:11:13 cookie recipe right so lots of good
00:11:11 00:11:15 stuff just a little bit of the steaks
00:11:13 00:11:16 and and so what i would encourage you is
00:11:15 00:11:18 to create good videos you got to have a
00:11:16 00:11:20 one-liner you need to know your
00:11:18 00:11:21 one-liner it doesn't have to be perfect
00:11:20 00:11:23 you have to be directionally correct
00:11:21 00:11:25 right i help people that are stuck the
00:11:23 00:11:27 problem and then the solution and the
00:11:25 00:11:28 result i help them go from here to there
00:11:27 00:11:30 right and if you can describe that
00:11:28 00:11:33 you'll be able to spit just about
00:11:30 00:11:34 whenever you want a good sales pitch i'm
00:11:33 00:11:36 about to walk in here in a lifetime work
00:11:34 00:11:38 and if somebody intersects with me
00:11:36 00:11:40 i'm going to tok to them about what we
00:11:38 00:11:42 really do we do websites and ads and you
00:11:40 00:11:44 know really what we do is we specialize
00:11:42 00:11:47 in helping businesses grow by using
00:11:44 00:11:49 digital in a lot of different ways so um
00:11:47 00:11:51 anyways that will help you so much on
00:11:49 00:11:54 your videos if you have a foundation
00:11:51 00:11:56 from what you're working from uh so that
00:11:54 00:11:58 you can actually speak from it because
00:11:56 00:12:01 to speak extemporaneously to be able to
00:11:58 00:12:03 just go you have to be working from a
00:12:01 00:12:04 core and what's funny so what i'm saying
00:12:03 00:12:06 is for you to get good at videos like
00:12:04 00:12:08 this first you have to have a core or
00:12:06 00:12:10 you need to script and that's the next
