so you've been running your shopify store for a while now and you've been installing shopify apps here and there and as time goes by, you decided to clean up your store and remove the apps that you don't really need anymore, because you know that these apps can slow down your shopify store and you don't want that. but when you deleted the app, you notike that it didn't really improve your store performance or speed. so why is that? well, in this video, we'll take a look at how to improve your shopify store speed and performance. stay tuned for that. same. number one reason is the app don't really slow down your store in the first place, or it doesn't really make any changes to your front end. the second reason is that the apps that you deleted left a bunch of snippet codes that weren't removed by the app. in other words, the app gave you a bunch of trash that you need to clean up yourself. what a bunch of ass, right? so i'll be showing you some tips and tricks: how you can clean up your shopify store and ensure that you can remove the junk created by the apps you deleted. before all that, make sure that you actually know your way around of your shopify store, especially with the theme files, and also always make a backup of your theme, especially when you start making a shopify store. a lot of beginners make this mistake where they just create a shopify store and they don't make a backup of their theme and when they check their assets file, they have no idea which one originally came with a theme and which one is the file that were added by the apps. so always make a backup of your theme so you can also retrieve a file, especially if you accidentally deleted a file. all right, so let's go through the steps of how to remove the unused codes or files from your shopify store. so first let's go to our themes- so it must be in our online store and themes- and then we'll select actions and edit code. this will open the following page where we can access all of the files in our theme. so let's open the themesliquid. so the first thing that we need to do is to scan through our theme that liquid file. so what i do usually is to use search and then type in here open angle, bracket, percentage sign, and then space and type the word include, and that will give us the following line. so we have here include judgement core and there must be another one, all right, so we have here include sumo. so we have two files being referenced in our theme- that liquid. now the next step is to check if this file is actually being used by shopify app or not. so let's open our apps page and then remember that this is called judge me core. and if we open our apps page, let's look for judgement and, as you can see here, there is a judge me product reviews app. so there's a possibility that this file, this file being referenced in our theme that liquid file- is being used by judgeme product reviews. so we don't want to remove that. and then the other one is sumo. so let's check if there is sumo in here and there is no sumo, and that means there's a possibility that this line is actually unused, though i highly recommend double checking, because there are cases that the file is being used by a different app but developed by the same company and then the file being referenced as the name of the company. so if you want to delete this code, you can do it and then just try. if it costs an error or if not, then that means it's deletable or you can delete it. so let's just remove this and if i save this and i'll open my store, if i refresh this and i'll try to open the inspect window and then console and see if i get any errors, as you can see, i have an error in here, but i'm not sure if it's related to sumo or not. so let's try to undo our changes. so i'll put the include sumo back, i'll save it once again and let me refresh my store once again and see if this errors. if this error still remains, so let me refresh that and then, as you can see, the error is still there, then that means sumo is not the reason why there's an error. so let's just remove this. we don't need it anymore and i'll save this and let's check that error. so, as you can see, it says uncut reference error. jquery is not defined and, as you can see in here, it is cost. it is from the crossjs, so we can hover that. and, as you can see, there's a url that says cdn- eggflowcom. so that means this file is coming from eggflow. so let's actually check if we have an app that was created by eggflowcom. so let me open my apps page and i have in here a bunch of apps, so let me just check about. or, if you want, you can open your browser and um type in here: shopify, um app, eggflow, ag, flow. as you can see, i have here apps by eggflow, so let me just open that and these are the apps that were created by eggflow. so i think i have instant traffic and ads. so let me open my app and there you go. yeah, i have instant traffic. so maybe there's something going on in this app that we can try to fix. if not, then you can contact their, their developer, or you can contact um support and tell them that there's an error related to jquery. actually, with sumo, we can delete this. now we don't need us anymore. so we can just delete the file and delete that, and that is how you remove the unused files from your shopify store. now there are other factors that can affect your shopify store speed and performance. one of them is the images in your store. that's why i highly recommend using website tools like gt metrics or google speed insights. these tools can help you determine what are the things that can slow down your shopify store, or what are things that slow down your shopify store for image related issues. for example, your images are very heavy, then i highly recommend tinyjpgcom. it is one that i used and it's really effective for making your images lighter and this can How To Close a Shopify Store and Cancel Your Shopify Subscription

hey, what is up guys? it's Brennan here, and today I'm going to be showing you how to close a Shopify store and cancel your Shopify subscription or account. so, first things first, you're going to want to make sure you are logged into your Shopify dashboard on the home page in the Shopify admin. next you're going to navigate over here to the bottom left hand corner and click on settings. that will take you to this page here outlining your store details. then you're going to go over to plan. now this Shopify store is on a development plan, so it's a custom plan for Shopify Affiliates, developers, but it should show your plan offering that you have, whether it be basic, Advanced or whatever Shopify plan that you currently have. that will show up here, as well as the additional add-ons or customizations will show up, you know, right there. then you'll have your next billing date and your payment method. now to actually close your store, all you have to do is go ahead and click here on this red button. here, as you can see, you also have the opportunity to change a plan. so maybe, if you wanted to downgrade a plan, you also have that opportunity here in this menu as well, under your plans, settings and plan details if you do want to go about changing it. but if you're just here to close, deactivate, we're going to click on the deactivate store button. then that will open this menu here where you can deactivate your Shopify store. you can cancel a subscription and deactivate the store. so, as you can see here, this is: you know, deactivate your store and cancel your subscription to the development plan or whatever basic plan or whatever, really whatever Shopify plan that you have. that will show up here. we're going to go ahead and click that button here. then it brings up this next menu here called, you know, cancel subscription and deactivate store. so, before you go, review these steps to take before closing your store to make sure you don't lose any important data or receive unexpected charges. so this is important to make sure that you export any customer data, any sales data or any kind of financial data from your store that you wouldn't no longer have access to. so, say, if you're migrating, maybe, to another e-commerce platform, that's something else. to make sure that you want to export that data and make sure that you save that so that you have access to that if you need it. next thing, of course, you know you can custom contact their Shopify support if you need extra help. they also ask you: you know what is the main reason you're closing this storm. so you know, please select. so they give you a few different options here to select. just to give you know Shopify an idea like: hey, I'm switching to another platform, I'm closing the business, not making enough sales, don't have time to run the Shopify store, I'm finding Shopify to be too expensive. uh, testing Shopify out, struggling to get it up and running. or you plan to still use Shopify, work on a different store, maybe a multiple stores. so there's a variety of different reasons you could select here as to why you're closing the store. but we're going to go ahead and just go with another, another reason. so if you do select that, then you can also specify maybe more specific details as to why you're canceling your store, why you no longer want to use Shopify. really just helps them out as far as getting a better idea of why customers might be leaving. so you go ahead and select any of the options here. let's just say we're not making enough sales. oh, and what's been most difficult in making those sales? uh, what platform are you switching to? uh, maybe a less expensive alternative, something like that. so you go ahead and select that here and then, once you've selected the option and the reason why you're closing the store, you just go ahead and click continue. then after that, they're going to ask you to enter in your password to deactivate the store, since you'll no longer have access to the Shopify admin. as well as that, sales data reports, product customer information. once again, you know, if you do want to give it another try, they do retain the information so that you can build your store back up. if you want to, you know, pause for a while. you can deactivate it. they will save that information. then you can go back up and running. but you know you won't have access to that while you no longer in that Shopify subscription. so it's important that if you are migrating to another platform or you know you just want to have that data for yourself, then make sure you export that before you cancel your Shopify subscription. so we're going to go ahead and enter the password here and then, after you enter your password, we're just going to go ahead and click on deactivate now and and wait for it to load, and that will currently deactivate the Shopify store and, as you can see here, your store is deactivated. so thank you for using Shopify. this is the page that you will see for your Shopify admin. if you try to go and log into your Shopify account or your previous Shopify store, it will save the data there. it's important also to note: you know, use your store information will be stored for two years. so you do have two years to go ahead and take Shopify up on that offer here to start selling again. so you have all your same store information, your store details, all that work that you put into, maybe the web design or anything with your products or anything that you have in your Shopify store. you know as far as what information of is available. they do also have, you know, the Shopify privacy policy, so you can read into that if you want to. but your store information will be safe for two years. so you do have that extra buffer time zone period if you do want to, you know, deactivate, pause for a little bit and then come back to your Shopify store and, of course, on this page as well, you can choose to reopen your Shopify store if you want to start selling again, but you will need to pick a plan, although they do have some discounts as well. so we're going to click here. so, as you can see here, if you're ready to pick up right where where you left off, then the Shopify does offer a limited time discount. of course, this is accurate as of the making of today's video. this pricing is subject to change and may not currently be an offer that they are offering you. but you know, when you go through this process you may or may not see this, but it is a good discount if it's available to take advantage of, because they do offer you quite a steep discount on their yearly, their two-year and even up to three years. you know, if you do plan to come back to Shopify, or if you want to, you know, hey you, you canceled, but hey you want to come back now, they do at least offer a good, you know, discount to keep you as a customer. much bigger discounts if you're doing like yearly, two year, three year or even the monthly is just the regular plan. so if you want to save money, then you know they have their annual plans available as well, well as like a starter plan, which is a newer plan, if you just want to go down to that five dollars a month range as well. that's another option that you have to start selling just on social media and messaging, so that's a cheaper plan. if you're, you know, looking to downgrade as well, you also have that option. maybe if you're going from one of these more expensive plans like the basic shopifier Advance, then you can go down to the starter plan, so you have that option as well to downgrade your Shopify account. and, of course, if you have any other questions, you can contact Shopify then. next as well, on this page you can view your past bill, so you can view and download all your past bills without having to reopen your store. we're going to go ahead and click on that here. as you can see, this is just a test storm, just to show you for this tutorial. there's no bills in here, but you can see if you do have them. you can filter them as well, like by the build total, the date. you can sort by paid open, failed, processing and refunded, so you know if you have any info.

How to delete everything from your Shopify store

All right. so in this tutorial I will show you how to delete everything from your Shopify store, just in case that you need to start fresh, or if you, for example, have this store as your test shop or sandbox and you just need to clear everything out and start fresh, And so I will be using Matrixify (Excelify) app for that here. this is the Matrixify (Excelify) app, And here we will start by exporting everything to the Matrixify (Excelify) excel format and we will select all those things that we want to delete to export them first. So those will be products with just the basic columns, then smart collections, also with only the basic columns. if you have any other checkboxes here, remove them, just to make your export faster. So we need just the basic columns here. also custom collections- basic columns, customers, basic columns, discounts as well, just basic columns, draft orders- we have some bunch here that we want to clear out, so again, only the basic columns. here the same for orders. For payouts- we actually don't need to export payouts because you can't delete them, so if you have any, then you can just leave them as they are. Pages, of course, again basic columns, blog posts- the same thing, and actually also blog posts and basic columns and blogs, because we want to delete also the blogs. if you have several blogs that contain many blog posts, Of course the redirects For activity there's. it's not possible to delete any of the activity, so we don't need to export it, so we can leave it out. and for shop, there is this thing as metafields. so of course you can't delete the shop itself, because it contains basically the main elements of how your shop is set up. but if you want to clear out the metafields for the shop, you can just select this metafields column and that way we will be able to clear them out. Okay, we can just run export and wait for it to finish. if you have a very large store, there is no need to keep the browser open. you can close it and it will send you an email when it's done. but generally it should be very fast because if you are exporting just basic columns, then it should be very quick. And here at the bottom it estimates how long it will supposedly take to finish this export. All right, so the export has finished and we can download the exported file. and in that exported file we have here at the bottom - there are the sheets of each kind of data that we exported, and the trick here is that we need to delete it in the reverse order because, like, logically, if you try to delete the customer which has an order, you will not be able to do it. Shopify will not allow it. so first we need to delete orders and then the customers. but just to like make it easier, we will just like, sort all the sheets in reverse order. so this export summary sheet is not needed at all. it just shows what we exported. So we start with the shop - for shop. here we have one metafield. you might have many metafields like this in your shop, but the main principle here is you need to clear out all of the values for those cells so that they are empty. but the metafield columns should stay here, because then we will import this metafield, we will see that it's empty and then we will delete it from the shop. So because we copied those, we just don't need them. but here this will be a good example. So then comes redirects - we just drag this sheet here and what we do here actually for all the rest of sheets. there is a column that says "Command" and by default it's always like "UPDATE" and we change it to "DELETE" and just double click here on this corner and it will copy all the deletes till the end. so by that we will delete all our redirects. Then the next comes again the blog posts - from the end we drag it to the third position and here under the command we put "DELETE". that should delete this blog post. Actually not sure if it will delete our blog, but we'll see. of course you might have more blog posts then you will just again copy. Then we come to pages - for the page is the same command - "DELETE". double click on the corner so that it copies for all the pages. Then we take orders - again drag it here for orders. the default command is "NEW". we just change it to "DELETE". again copy down and just note here for the orders. it might be that Shopify will not allow to delete all of the orders, because if there are some real payments or like if the Shopify Payment Gateway was involved, then it might not allow to delete the orders. but generally, if this is a test store and everything is like generated data anyway, then you should be able to delete all of your orders. Then our draft orders - we put them here. no here. just to be precise, Again, change the command to "DELETE", copy down. Then the same for discounts - for discounts also command - "DELETE", double click. everything has delete. Then comes customers And also in in discounts. some discount may reference the customer as well. so it's a good idea that we first delete discounts and then the customers. So again "DELETE", copy. Then custom collections - "DELETE", so those custom collections are manual collections. Then smart collections - again "DELETE" copy, And then for last the products - I also copy "DELETE" for all the rows. Save the file. we can save it as "Delete-everything", close the file, go back to Matrixify (Excelify) app and here choose the file to delete everything. It will analyze the file. it will use those sheet names to determine what kind of data is in each sheet. so it's estimating Right. so now it shows "Ready to import" because it has read through all of the sheets, and so it shows how many items it sees in each file. if there are any warnings, then typically, for for example in this case, it means that we had 22 orders with the same name, essentially with the same order number, and it gives a warning that maybe your file is repeating or something, because generally those orders should not have the same name. There shouldn't be orders with the same name, but in our case there are, because it's our test store And yeah, we just press import and then for shop it shows updated, because it updated our shop data and essentially removed that one metafield. Now it's deleting all the redirects we can see. it shows how many it has deleted thus far and again the estimate at the bottom here it shows how long it thinks it will take to delete them. Here based on the average typical speed. but here, for the one that it's already doing, it's using the actual speed - how many seconds per item is being deleted. so it can extrapolate how long it will take to delete these items. And, of course, if you see that there are some errors, then these potentially can't be deleted for some reason, and then in the results file you will be able to see in details which orders couldn't be deleted. everything else actually should be possible to delete from your store for, except of if there are some orders that can't be deleted [Fastforward]. Okay, so it has finished. And yeah, also about the customers - if there is an order that can't be deleted, then its related customers will not be deleted, and so if we download the results file then we can see for each of the sheets again. for example, for shop, it tells that metafield Shopify post attributes deleted, that it deleted this one meta field. for the redirects, everything was like: import result is OK, OK, OK, Delete, pushed by id. So the same thing for each of those things and those two orders like here is failed and failed, those couldn't be deleted. or draft orders, like as we saw, everything was okay. And for customers, we saw that those two customers can't be deleted because it says like "Error deleting customer" and the typical reason for that is that because this customer has an order or those customers, ha.

I hope you guys are doing amazing. so in today's video, I'm going to show you how you can cancel your Shopify subscription or close your store. they're almost, you know now, kind of same thing. so, first of all, what you have to do is you have to open your Shopify, your Shopify home, and you have to come here on the home, as you can see that I have a. I have an online store as well, and this is my Shopify. you know, this is what it looks like in my home. it is asking me to add a domain and pick a plan and etc. etc. so, first of all, what you have to do is- uh, you know, it's very easy. it's gonna be a step to step guide and so that you don't feel any kind of thing, you know which- I don't want to leave anything behind where. I don't want to leave anything out for you to create any confusion for you guys. so, first of all, what you have to do is, after opening up your shopifycom, so after signing in and after logging in or whatsoever, this will be the page that he will land on to, and it can be different for you depending upon the, you know, depending upon your store, or if you have a store or not. if you don't, then it will ask you to create a store. if you already have, then it will ask you to update it or something like it totally depends upon what, where you are and your progress on Shopify. so, as I have a store, but it's not very updated Etc, it's asking me to add a domain and everything. so this is the home page for me. so first of all, what you have to do is go into this app setting here, and here you can see that these are the apps that I have linked or installed to my Shopify and from here I can do some Drop, Shipping, Etc. and if you uh go into this setting app and sales channel settings, it will open up, you know, the and all other settings, Etc. and here you can see what you have to do first is you want to remove all those apps and uh, you know can be uninstalled without selecting uh selector location, shop location, and you know, just delete it. and if you want to come here to others pocket, you want to do that, do it as well. you have to select this location, like if you can delete it from here, or you know you can just transfer it to your shop locator because it's necessary. you cannot just directly delete it like that. so it's just, you know you want to delete it from this Shopify account, or you know subscription, so you want to delete it, remove this as well. and um, you know just, there's another one which is an online store, and I understand the risk of installing this sales channel. before you delete, make sure you have fulfilled all orders from online stream, processed any returns or refunds- if you have anything you know to return or to refund, or there are any orders that you haven't fulfilled, right, um yet. so you have to do that first before deleting your account or before deleting your store. so you have successfully deleted online store and this is how your app send uh, sales channels looks like now, and you're all clear. so the next step is that you here, as you can see, it is asking you to add some more apps because you don't already have one. so when you come here, these are the settings and, as you have seen that this is a, this is my store, so on by mnmyshopifycom. so this is, uh you know, showing the basic information about my store and everything, and this is the information that I have provided. so what you have to do is you have to come here in the plan section and this is your next billing date and payment method and everything. so you have to come here and deactivate your trial, because I'm a trial mode right now and this is how, uh, my subscription will be canceled. for you, it might be different if you have already subscribed to a payment plan and if you have already bought your subscription or something, then it will ask you to close your store or something like that. if you have done nothing right now, if just a simple store, you have created nothing or you haven't chose any plan right now, then it will simply give you an option of closing your store and it will ask you a reason for it. while you're closing your storage stuff, you just have to given that and you just have to, uh, you know, given your password, and that's how you will close your store and close your profile for all. if, as you can see, that I already had a store and I already choose a payment plan and I choose the free trial version of it. so this is why I am deactivating my trial version and they actually restore and cancel your subscription to the trial plan. yes, please. what is the main reason of choosing closing the store? I was just testing Shopify out. I will just, you know, add this, anything you'd like to add. no, I will just continue. and now I have to enter my password in order to actually activate my store completely and I will just simply add in my password and I will just say deactivate. now, after adding in your password, you will be able to deactivate your store completely and, as you can see here, after a deactivate your store, you will no longer have access to Shopify admin, including your sales data reports or product and customer information. if you, if you decide to give this another try, we'll retain this information so you can kick start your store with ease. so this is what it says and this is how you'll be able to deactivate your store. I don't know how to do that, so I'm not going to actually add in my password. here I was just. I was just showing you guys how you can do that very easily and I will just go back and, you know, cancel everything out and- and here is are some other options that you can use as well, if you want to- uh, you know- deactivate your account- it's just going to this manage account setting- it will give you an option to completely delete your account. as you can see, if you come here and security your password to stop amplification and devices, Etc. after you have successfully ended your subscription of your store on Shopify, then you will be given the option to close your store in this General section and from that there you can add a reason of closing the store and then you can add in your password, like you added for closing the subscription, and that's how you can close your store on Shopify and this is how you can, you know, close your Shopify account and this is how easy it was. after successfully, you know, closing your subscription and deactivating your subscription on Shopify, you can get an option here in the general section of closing your store and once you select that section, select that option, you will just, you know, asked about why are you doing this? and then you will be asked about your password and that's how you can close your your Shopify account as well. this is how easy it was and this was, uh, all for today. in this video, i'm gonna show you how to increase the loading speed of your shopify store without hiring any developer and without coding, just by following simple basic stuff. i have been in shopify for over four years and over the years, i have run multiple drop shipping stores, help many people start their online business, and right now, i'm using shopify to sell my own products. for all the shopify stores i had, i have managed to have the best possible loading speed, thereby reducing bounce rate and increasing conversion rate. i have done this without hiring anybody and without coding. the thing is that shopify itself is built for anyone to start their online store without coding, so, in reality, you don't need to do any coding or hire a developer to increase the speed of your shopify store. if you do some simple basic things in the right way, your shopify store will have an amazing loading speed. so i'm gonna be sharing you four simple things which i follow when i run a shopify store in order to have a fast loading speed, thereby increasing conversion rate. alright, guys, the first thing is not actually a tip, but it is the main concern for most people. it is gt matrix. gt matrix is a website that measures how fast your website is loading. so if you have been using zt matrix to measure the loading speed of your website, you have been measuring it in the wrong way. the results of zd matrix are not consistent and it bearish from day to day. okay, just to give you an insight, i did a test on gt metrics for billion dollar company like zim sock and kylie cosmetik and i'm gonna be sharing the result with you on the screen right now. and, as you see, the results are really really horrible. so if a billion dollar company gets a really bad metrics on gd matrix, you can decide. so if your website scores b, it doesn't mean it's bad. the real way to measure the loading speed of your website is through your browser. so in whatever browser you are using, there should be a mod, whether it is incognito or private mod. so what you want to do is go into that mod and type in the domain of your website and see how it loads. the way it loads in the incognito or the private mode is how your actual website is loading. you can try it in different devices- in your pc, in your laptop or in your phone, in your tablet- and see how it responds. if you are happy with it, you are good to go. what i'm trying to say is that even if you have a website that loads really fast and you use gt matrix to major, it may solve really bad data and you may feel bad and feel like you need to do something for your website, while in fact your website is perfectly fine. so that's the first thing i want to tell you: don't use zd matrix to measure the loading speed of your website. instead, use incognito mode or private mod in your browser. the second thing is really simple. it is to uninstall all the apps which you are not using. so literally uninstall every single app in your shopify store which you are not using. in fact, the way to avoid using a lot of apps is to use the team which come with inbuilt apps. the real problem with shopify app is that when you install an app, it install a piece of code into your shopify team pile and this line of code often ends up conflicting with your team pile, thereby reducing the loading speed of your shopify store. the problem is that for some app, even after you uninstall the app, it leaves a line of code in your shopify store conflicting with your team pile and it keeps reducing the loading speed of your shopify store. so, as a precaution, whatever team you are using, before customizing and adding any kind of app, make sure you make a copy of the original theme file so, in case anything goes wrong with the theme, you can always come back to the original file and do the same thing from scratch. the way i have managed to solve this app problem is by using the beautify. so, regarding using less apps, the is free from my experience, this app is doing a really great job. to be honest, this app doesn't actually increase the loading speed of your shopify store, but it creates the illusion that your store is loading really fast. so let me try to explain it in a simple way. when someone comes to a landing page of a shopify store, this app actually starts loading the other pages that is linked to the landing page. so when the visitor clicks to another base from the landing page, it loads immediately. actually, the loading started even before the visitor clicks on anything, but when they click on the button, it gives the illusion that the base loads almost instantly. you may not understand what i just said, but this app just improves the visitor experience by creating the illusion that your shopify store is loading faster. alright, so the last tip i have for you is to resize your images. so when you click a photo with your phone or your camera or you download a stok image to be used on your website, it tends to have a really big file size. these photos will range anywhere between 2 mb and some even more than 5 mb. this greatly reduce the loading speed of your landing page. the way to solve this is to resize the images without minimizing quality. to do this you can go to app store or play store. just type in emails compression. before you upload the image in your shopify store, make sure you compress the image. if the app gives you an option of how many pixels you want, you can go for 1000 pixels max. don't go beyond that because it is really unnecessary. so normally a photo or an image which is clicked with your phone camera or a stok image will have pixels of around 4000 and some even six or seven thousand pixels. so when you resize it down just to 1000 pixels, the size
