00:00:00 | 00:00:03 | hey everyone i'm tatiana and this is |
00:00:02 | 00:00:06 | part two |
00:00:03 | 00:00:08 | of my four part video training series on |
00:00:06 | 00:00:10 | amazon fba for beginners |
00:00:08 | 00:00:12 | if you have yet to watch part one you |
00:00:10 | 00:00:15 | can get access to it |
00:00:12 | 00:00:17 | by going to tatianajames.com fba or |
00:00:15 | 00:00:20 | clicking the link in the description box |
00:00:17 | 00:00:21 | below so today's video is all about |
00:00:20 | 00:00:22 | product research we're going to dive |
00:00:21 | 00:00:24 | deep into |
00:00:22 | 00:00:26 | how to find viable products to sell on |
00:00:24 | 00:00:28 | amazon the majority of this video is |
00:00:26 | 00:00:29 | going to be screen share so i'm going to |
00:00:28 | 00:00:31 | get behind my computer and i'm going to |
00:00:29 | 00:00:33 | show you exactly what i do |
00:00:31 | 00:00:35 | now having said that you know a little |
00:00:33 | 00:00:36 | disclaimer here this is just me showing |
00:00:35 | 00:00:37 | you what i do |
00:00:36 | 00:00:39 | by no means am i saying this is the best |
00:00:37 | 00:00:40 | way to do things or that you should do |
00:00:39 | 00:00:41 | things this way |
00:00:40 | 00:00:44 | i'm just sharing with you what works for |
00:00:41 | 00:00:45 | me and i hope that it helps you all |
00:00:44 | 00:00:47 | right welcome everyone |
00:00:45 | 00:00:49 | so we're going to start our product |
00:00:47 | 00:00:51 | research on amazon |
00:00:49 | 00:00:53 | of course because we need to see you |
00:00:51 | 00:00:55 | know what are people buying on amazon |
00:00:53 | 00:00:57 | that's the whole point of |
00:00:55 | 00:00:59 | doing private labeling is we're not |
00:00:57 | 00:01:00 | inventing something new |
00:00:59 | 00:01:02 | we're going and we're looking at the |
00:01:00 | 00:01:04 | data we're seeing what products already |
00:01:02 | 00:01:07 | sell well on amazon |
00:01:04 | 00:01:08 | and we are going to to create similar |
00:01:07 | 00:01:10 | products but we're going to improve |
00:01:08 | 00:01:12 | those products with time |
00:01:10 | 00:01:14 | and so we're not going to invent |
00:01:12 | 00:01:17 | something new so we're |
00:01:14 | 00:01:18 | trying to minimize our risks and so the |
00:01:17 | 00:01:21 | first thing you have to decide |
00:01:18 | 00:01:23 | is which marketplace you wish to sell on |
00:01:21 | 00:01:25 | are you going to sell on amazon.com |
00:01:23 | 00:01:26 | in the usa are you going to sell in the |
00:01:25 | 00:01:29 | uk |
00:01:26 | 00:01:31 | in germany it's up to you you can decide |
00:01:29 | 00:01:33 | it's a personal decision |
00:01:31 | 00:01:35 | most people will sell on amazon in the |
00:01:33 | 00:01:37 | u.s because it is the largest |
00:01:35 | 00:01:40 | marketplace out of all of them |
00:01:37 | 00:01:42 | the runners-up are uk and germany so if |
00:01:40 | 00:01:44 | you live in those countries then you may |
00:01:42 | 00:01:46 | wish to sell on those platforms first |
00:01:44 | 00:01:48 | just because it's easier if you already |
00:01:46 | 00:01:50 | live there to get signed up |
00:01:48 | 00:01:52 | otherwise you may wish to sell in the |
00:01:50 | 00:01:53 | u.s so you choose where you want to sell |
00:01:52 | 00:01:54 | and that's where you're going to be |
00:01:53 | 00:01:56 | doing your product |
00:01:54 | 00:01:58 | research so in this case we're going to |
00:01:56 | 00:01:59 | be doing the research on amazon.com |
00:01:58 | 00:02:01 | because we're going to be selling in the |
00:01:59 | 00:02:03 | us and |
00:02:01 | 00:02:05 | then what you would do is you would now |
00:02:03 | 00:02:06 | have to kind of find some products so |
00:02:05 | 00:02:08 | you can |
00:02:06 | 00:02:09 | pick a random product and you can start |
00:02:08 | 00:02:13 | to do your product research |
00:02:09 | 00:02:15 | manually and so manually is the way that |
00:02:13 | 00:02:16 | people used to do it the way that i did |
00:02:15 | 00:02:17 | it when i was first starting |
00:02:16 | 00:02:19 | and i'm going to show you what that |
00:02:17 | 00:02:21 | looks like and then i'm going to present |
00:02:19 | 00:02:23 | to you an alternative option |
00:02:21 | 00:02:24 | where you can leverage a tool to help |
00:02:23 | 00:02:28 | you do product research |
00:02:24 | 00:02:30 | to make things a lot easier to find more |
00:02:28 | 00:02:31 | niche products and to just make the |
00:02:30 | 00:02:33 | product research |
00:02:31 | 00:02:35 | a faster process because it can be quite |
00:02:33 | 00:02:37 | time consuming |
00:02:35 | 00:02:38 | so i'm just going to give you an example |
00:02:37 | 00:02:41 | um the other day i was |
00:02:38 | 00:02:43 | buying a suitcase cover so you may |
00:02:41 | 00:02:45 | start by just looking around the house |
00:02:43 | 00:02:46 | at some items that you have or |
00:02:45 | 00:02:48 | something that's peaking your curiosity |
00:02:46 | 00:02:48 | and type it into the amazon and that's |
00:02:48 | 00:02:52 | how |
00:02:48 | 00:02:55 | you kind of start this searching |
00:02:52 | 00:02:57 | and i might choose a product here let's |
00:02:55 | 00:02:58 | just say this item here |
00:02:57 | 00:03:00 | and my goal with this is i'm going to |
00:02:58 | 00:03:04 | look for the bsr |
00:03:00 | 00:03:08 | the bsr stands for best sellers rank |
00:03:04 | 00:03:09 | and i'm going to find that right here |
00:03:08 | 00:03:11 | best sellers rank so it's going to be |
00:03:09 | 00:03:13 | under product information |
00:03:11 | 00:03:15 | and you're looking for the main |
00:03:13 | 00:03:16 | categories bestseller rank |
00:03:15 | 00:03:18 | not the sub categories so you can see |
00:03:16 | 00:03:21 | here suitcases would be a sub category |
00:03:18 | 00:03:22 | this is a main category and so what i'm |
00:03:21 | 00:03:25 | going to do is i'm going to use uh |
00:03:22 | 00:03:27 | there's a free amazon sales estimator |
00:03:25 | 00:03:28 | brought to you by jungle scout i'll link |
00:03:27 | 00:03:29 | that for you guys so you can check it |
00:03:28 | 00:03:31 | out |
00:03:29 | 00:03:34 | and all you would do is you would input |
00:03:31 | 00:03:34 | the bsr identify the marketplace you're |
00:03:34 | 00:03:36 | selling |
00:03:34 | 00:03:37 | and then also identify the category so |
00:03:36 | 00:03:39 | in this case it would be clothing shoes |
00:03:37 | 00:03:40 | and jewelry |
00:03:39 | 00:03:42 | and what that's going to do is it's |
00:03:40 | 00:03:46 | going to help you get an idea |
00:03:42 | 00:03:47 | of how many monthly sales that product |
00:03:46 | 00:03:49 | does |
00:03:47 | 00:03:51 | and you're going to be able to see |
00:03:49 | 00:03:53 | whether it's a high number or a low |
00:03:51 | 00:03:55 | number in this case not very much |
00:03:53 | 00:03:57 | so it seems like this product does not |
00:03:55 | 00:04:00 | sell all that well |
00:03:57 | 00:04:02 | and may not be something that would be |
00:04:00 | 00:04:05 | very attractive to me i'm looking for |
00:04:02 | 00:04:06 | a product that sells quite well so this |
00:04:05 | 00:04:08 | would kind of be the manual process and |
00:04:06 | 00:04:10 | so you would go |
00:04:08 | 00:04:12 | one product at a time and you would look |
00:04:10 | 00:04:14 | at the bsr range and you would try and |
00:04:12 | 00:04:16 | identify which products are selling well |
00:04:14 | 00:04:18 | and and then it would be quite a time |
00:04:16 | 00:04:19 | consuming process |
00:04:18 | 00:04:21 | so people don't really do that these |
00:04:19 | 00:04:23 | days people use tools |
00:04:21 | 00:04:24 | and you may have heard of jungle scout |
00:04:23 | 00:04:26 | or helium 10 |
00:04:24 | 00:04:28 | these are two of the most popular tools |
00:04:26 | 00:04:30 | and i recommend |
00:04:28 | 00:04:32 | both of them both of them are great |
00:04:30 | 00:04:33 | they're wonderful |
00:04:32 | 00:04:35 | it's really a personal preference which |
00:04:33 | 00:04:37 | one you want to use |
00:04:35 | 00:04:38 | jungle scout i find to be a bit more |
00:04:37 | 00:04:41 | user friendly |
00:04:38 | 00:04:42 | and helium 10 you know the way that |
00:04:41 | 00:04:43 | people compare it sometimes is that |
00:04:42 | 00:04:46 | helium 10 |
00:04:43 | 00:04:47 | is like people who like to use androids |
00:04:46 | 00:04:50 | and people who like to use |
00:04:47 | 00:04:52 | apple products uh iphones would be |
00:04:50 | 00:04:54 | jungle scout so jungle scout is kind of |
00:04:52 | 00:04:56 | more like the iphone user |
00:04:54 | 00:04:58 | helium 10 is more like the android user |
00:04:56 | 00:05:00 | and so in this example i'm going to |
00:04:58 | 00:05:02 | share with you jungle scout because i |
00:05:00 | 00:05:04 | like to use that one and so this is what |
00:05:02 | 00:05:05 | your jungle scout dashboard would look |
00:05:04 | 00:05:07 | like |
00:05:05 | 00:05:09 | and the way we start our product |
00:05:07 | 00:05:11 | research is through the product |
00:05:09 | 00:05:13 | database so they really make things a |
00:05:11 | 00:05:15 | lot easier for us because what we can do |
00:05:13 | 00:05:18 | is instead of looking through |
00:05:15 | 00:05:20 | each product category one by one we can |
00:05:18 | 00:05:20 | filter things so that we don't have to |
00:05:20 | 00:05:24 | go through |
00:05:20 | 00:05:27 | hundreds of thousands of pages on amazon |
00:05:24 | 00:05:28 | and so it saves us a lot of time so |
00:05:27 | 00:05:30 | we're gonna first select which |
00:05:28 | 00:05:33 | categories we want to sell in |
00:05:30 | 00:05:33 | now i would encourage you to start |
00:05:33 | 00:05:35 | thinking about |
00:05:33 | 00:05:38 | what are your passions what are your |
00:05:35 | 00:05:40 | hobbies what interests you |
00:05:38 | 00:05:43 | because chances are that you know you |
00:05:40 | 00:05:45 | could find a product within that niche |
00:05:43 | 00:05:46 | so if you love fitness then great look |
00:05:45 | 00:05:49 | for products |
00:05:46 | 00:05:51 | in the fitness category if you're |
00:05:49 | 00:05:52 | passionate about something |
00:05:51 | 00:05:54 | you're just going to be more excited to |
00:05:52 | 00:05:56 | work on it right so |
00:05:54 | 00:05:57 | if you have a passion for working out |
00:05:56 | 00:06:01 | then if you're selling |
00:05:57 | 00:06:03 | um you know a resistance band on amazon |
00:06:01 | 00:06:05 | you're probably going to be more excited |
00:06:03 | 00:06:07 | to create marketing materials for it |
00:06:05 | 00:06:08 | and it's just going to be more fun for |
00:06:07 | 00:06:10 | you to work on the business so you don't |
00:06:08 | 00:06:11 | have to be passionate about the product |
00:06:10 | 00:06:13 | you do |
00:06:11 | 00:06:15 | move forward with it's not a necessity |
00:06:13 | 00:06:16 | but if you have that option between |
00:06:15 | 00:06:18 | choosing a product you're not so |
00:06:16 | 00:06:19 | passionate about versus choosing |
00:06:18 | 00:06:21 | something you sincerely have an interest |
00:06:19 | 00:06:23 | in then by all means go for the product |
00:06:21 | 00:06:25 | that you have an interest in |
00:06:23 | 00:06:27 | so if you already know some categories |
00:06:25 | 00:06:27 | out of all of these that would excite |
00:06:27 | 00:06:30 | you |
00:06:27 | 00:06:32 | then just i would say go for those |
00:06:30 | 00:06:34 | categories you're gonna find a product a |
00:06:32 | 00:06:36 | viable product within that category |
00:06:34 | 00:06:38 | because each one of these categories has |
00:06:36 | 00:06:39 | hundreds of thousands of products to |
00:06:38 | 00:06:40 | choose from |
00:06:39 | 00:06:42 | you're bound to find some to find |
00:06:40 | 00:06:44 | something |
00:06:42 | 00:06:45 | so i'm gonna select the categories that |
00:06:44 | 00:06:47 | you don't |
00:06:45 | 00:06:50 | you probably don't want to sell in so |
00:06:47 | 00:06:52 | these are the categories i would avoid |
00:06:50 | 00:06:54 | watches because you know most people who |
00:06:52 | 00:06:56 | are buying watches they want to buy |
00:06:54 | 00:06:58 | specific name brands |
00:06:56 | 00:06:59 | so i would avoid that video games |
00:06:58 | 00:07:01 | because of course |
00:06:59 | 00:07:02 | you're not making a video game here |
00:07:01 | 00:07:04 | that's not what we're doing with private |
00:07:02 | 00:07:09 | labeling |
00:07:04 | 00:07:09 | um let's see here software |
00:07:11 | 00:07:18 | music movies and tv kindle store |
00:07:24 | 00:07:28 | computers and accessories i would |
00:07:25 | 00:07:30 | probably remove |
00:07:28 | 00:07:31 | i mean no you could keep that in there |
00:07:30 | 00:07:32 | um |
00:07:31 | 00:07:34 | yeah i mean obviously you're not going |
00:07:32 | 00:07:37 | to be selling a computer but maybe an |
00:07:34 | 00:07:37 | accessory for a computer |
00:07:39 | 00:07:48 | cameron photo cds and vinyl books |
00:07:45 | 00:07:49 | and appliances so pretty much all of |
00:07:48 | 00:07:52 | these categories |
00:07:49 | 00:07:53 | uh are viable product categories you can |
00:07:52 | 00:07:54 | find |
00:07:53 | 00:07:57 | uh great products within each of these |
00:07:54 | 00:07:59 | categories so we could do a search for |
00:07:57 | 00:08:02 | all of these categories but they're |
00:07:59 | 00:08:04 | gonna be so many results to choose from |
00:08:02 | 00:08:06 | so i would encourage you out of these |
00:08:04 | 00:08:07 | categories which of these would interest |
00:08:06 | 00:08:10 | you most and start |
00:08:07 | 00:08:13 | there and so for myself personally today |
00:08:10 | 00:08:14 | i'm gonna look at i do arts crafts and |
00:08:13 | 00:08:16 | sewing |
00:08:14 | 00:08:18 | i'm going to go there okay so next so |
00:08:16 | 00:08:19 | again remember you have to choose your |
00:08:18 | 00:08:21 | um |
00:08:19 | 00:08:22 | your country so we're going to do the us |
00:08:21 | 00:08:24 | sorry i didn't mention that earlier |
00:08:22 | 00:08:27 | now the product here is it going to be |
00:08:24 | 00:08:28 | standard or oversized |
00:08:27 | 00:08:30 | now i want to mention that when you're |
00:08:28 | 00:08:32 | first starting to sell on amazon |
00:08:30 | 00:08:34 | you're going to have way more |
00:08:32 | 00:08:37 | restrictions than someone who has |
00:08:34 | 00:08:38 | experience selling on amazon |
00:08:37 | 00:08:40 | and that's simply because you know with |
00:08:38 | 00:08:41 | your first product you've got the |
00:08:40 | 00:08:43 | training wheels on |
00:08:41 | 00:08:44 | you're really learning how to do this |
00:08:43 | 00:08:46 | process and you want to make things as |
00:08:44 | 00:08:49 | easy as possible for yourself so you're |
00:08:46 | 00:08:50 | going to try and avoid certain things |
00:08:49 | 00:08:52 | and be more cautious than someone who |
00:08:50 | 00:08:53 | has more experience |
00:08:52 | 00:08:55 | who you know they don't have the |
00:08:53 | 00:08:56 | training wheels on they can take more |
00:08:55 | 00:08:59 | risks |
00:08:56 | 00:09:00 | they know what they're doing and so |
00:08:59 | 00:09:01 | we're going to go with |
00:09:00 | 00:09:03 | you know the product criteria is going |
00:09:01 | 00:09:04 | to be more strict for you when you're |
00:09:03 | 00:09:07 | first getting started |
00:09:04 | 00:09:08 | but as you gain experience uh it's not |
00:09:07 | 00:09:10 | going to be as strict and you're going |
00:09:08 | 00:09:11 | to be able to look in product categories |
00:09:10 | 00:09:13 | that other people |
00:09:11 | 00:09:14 | who are beginning may not be able to |
00:09:13 | 00:09:17 | look into you're going to be able to |
00:09:14 | 00:09:18 | pick products that maybe beginners |
00:09:17 | 00:09:22 | wouldn't |
00:09:18 | 00:09:25 | want to pick and so the criteria changes |
00:09:22 | 00:09:27 | as you progress uh in your business |
00:09:25 | 00:09:28 | so we're gonna go with standard sizing |
00:09:27 | 00:09:30 | and the reason why is because if you |
00:09:28 | 00:09:32 | have an oversized product |
00:09:30 | 00:09:35 | that means you're gonna spend more money |
00:09:32 | 00:09:38 | at the amazon warehouse for storage fees |
00:09:35 | 00:09:39 | so we're going to go ahead with standard |
00:09:38 | 00:09:42 | now the amazon |
00:09:39 | 00:09:42 | type the seller type excuse me is either |
00:09:42 | 00:09:46 | going to be |
00:09:42 | 00:09:47 | fba or amazon fbm stands for fulfilled |
00:09:46 | 00:09:49 | by |
00:09:47 | 00:09:51 | merchant and that's if someone is like |
00:09:49 | 00:09:52 | packaging and fulfilling the products |
00:09:51 | 00:09:54 | themselves |
00:09:52 | 00:09:55 | but what we teach with the private label |
00:09:54 | 00:09:58 | method what i do |
00:09:55 | 00:09:59 | it's fulfilled by amazon so that means |
00:09:58 | 00:10:01 | that |
00:09:59 | 00:10:02 | you private label the product and you |
00:10:01 | 00:10:06 | ship it to the amazon warehouse |
00:10:02 | 00:10:07 | and then amazon picks packs and ships |
00:10:06 | 00:10:09 | the product for you |
00:10:07 | 00:10:11 | they manage returns they manage customer |
00:10:09 | 00:10:13 | support they do all of that for you so |
00:10:11 | 00:10:14 | you actually never necessarily have to |
00:10:13 | 00:10:15 | see the products |
00:10:14 | 00:10:17 | like you don't have them stored at your |
00:10:15 | 00:10:18 | house they're amazon's taking care of |
00:10:17 | 00:10:21 | them |
00:10:18 | 00:10:22 | so the seller typed can be amazon or fba |
00:10:21 | 00:10:24 | if it's amazon it simply means that |
00:10:22 | 00:10:25 | amazon themselves are selling that |
00:10:24 | 00:10:28 | product |
00:10:25 | 00:10:30 | um so we can select these two now you |
00:10:28 | 00:10:32 | have a bunch of different filter options |
00:10:30 | 00:10:34 | and you can choose what you want to do |
00:10:32 | 00:10:38 | here but i'm going to give you some |
00:10:34 | 00:10:40 | something to work with some ideas the |
00:10:38 | 00:10:41 | minimum and maximum price so as i |
00:10:40 | 00:10:43 | alluded to |
00:10:41 | 00:10:44 | in the first video of this training |
00:10:43 | 00:10:46 | series um |
00:10:44 | 00:10:48 | you don't want to be selling a product |
00:10:46 | 00:10:51 | that's under 15 |
00:10:48 | 00:10:53 | if the sales price is below 15 it can be |
00:10:51 | 00:10:55 | very tough to make a profit |
00:10:53 | 00:10:56 | because you've got to account for the |
00:10:55 | 00:10:59 | amazon fees |
00:10:56 | 00:11:02 | the referral fees uh you know shipping |
00:10:59 | 00:11:03 | your landed costs all of that and a |
00:11:02 | 00:11:05 | product selling under 15 |
00:11:03 | 00:11:07 | you know you can make a profit it's just |
00:11:05 | 00:11:09 | not going to be very significant |
00:11:07 | 00:11:10 | and so we prefer if you find products |
00:11:09 | 00:11:14 | that are selling between |
00:11:10 | 00:11:15 | 15 to 70 so i'm going to put that in |
00:11:14 | 00:11:17 | here |
00:11:15 | 00:11:19 | and the reason why there's a max price |
00:11:17 | 00:11:20 | of about seventy dollars and simply |
00:11:19 | 00:11:22 | because |
00:11:20 | 00:11:23 | when you start to sell a product that's |
00:11:22 | 00:11:26 | higher than seventy dollars |
00:11:23 | 00:11:27 | people start it becomes more it becomes |
00:11:26 | 00:11:30 | a bigger decision for someone |
00:11:27 | 00:11:30 | right they go to amazon oftentimes to |
00:11:30 | 00:11:33 | find |
00:11:30 | 00:11:35 | cheaper products to find the best deal |
00:11:33 | 00:11:36 | and if a product's priced at over 70 |
00:11:35 | 00:11:39 | dollars |
00:11:36 | 00:11:41 | then it's just |
00:11:39 | 00:11:42 | fewer people are going to add that item |
00:11:41 | 00:11:44 | to cart |
00:11:42 | 00:11:45 | and so it's kind of a sweet spot but you |
00:11:44 | 00:11:49 | can play around with that |
00:11:45 | 00:11:50 | with time okay so reviews how many |
00:11:49 | 00:11:51 | reviews should you put into these |
00:11:50 | 00:11:54 | filters |
00:11:51 | 00:11:56 | well our goal with selling on amazon is |
00:11:54 | 00:11:59 | we want to look for products that are |
00:11:56 | 00:12:01 | high demand and low competition and so |
00:11:59 | 00:12:02 | that simply means that we want to see |
00:12:01 | 00:12:04 | that people have an interest in this |
00:12:02 | 00:12:05 | product that people are buying this |
00:12:04 | 00:12:07 | product on amazon |
00:12:05 | 00:12:09 | that if i were to sell this product that |
00:12:07 | 00:12:10 | there would be enough demand from |
00:12:09 | 00:12:13 | shoppers that they would actually be |
00:12:10 | 00:12:15 | searching for this product and buying it |
00:12:13 | 00:12:16 | but we also don't want to see too much |
00:12:15 | 00:12:17 | competition |
00:12:16 | 00:12:19 | because that makes it hard for us to |
00:12:17 | 00:12:22 | compete um so the way we |
00:12:19 | 00:12:23 | identify competition is based on how |
00:12:22 | 00:12:26 | many reviews |
00:12:23 | 00:12:28 | other sellers have on their listing and |
00:12:26 | 00:12:33 | so for example if we look here |
00:12:28 | 00:12:36 | this partikular product has 13 160 |
00:12:33 | 00:12:37 | reviews you can imagine how long it |
00:12:36 | 00:12:40 | would take you to acquire |
00:12:37 | 00:12:42 | that number of reviews a very long time |
00:12:40 | 00:12:45 | and so if you were to launch the same |
00:12:42 | 00:12:47 | product a very similar product on amazon |
00:12:45 | 00:12:49 | and you had no reviews because you're |
00:12:47 | 00:12:51 | just starting |
00:12:49 | 00:12:53 | you know it would be very hard for you |
00:12:51 | 00:12:56 | to compete with someone with 13 |
00:12:53 | 00:12:59 | 160 reviews and so |
00:12:56 | 00:13:01 | what i would recommend doing here is |
00:12:59 | 00:13:04 | inputting a maximum number of reviews |
00:13:01 | 00:13:06 | you can put 50 reviews here and that |
00:13:04 | 00:13:09 | just means that you're really looking |
00:13:06 | 00:13:12 | for products that have low um |
00:13:09 | 00:13:13 | low competition but it will limit your |
00:13:12 | 00:13:15 | search results |
00:13:13 | 00:13:16 | um you're going to have fewer results if |
00:13:15 | 00:13:18 | you |
00:13:16 | 00:13:19 | if you want to start this way that's |
00:13:18 | 00:13:22 | great but if you find that you don't |
00:13:19 | 00:13:23 | have many results you can increase that |
00:13:22 | 00:13:26 | to 500 |
00:13:23 | 00:13:27 | or even 100 200 because that just means |
00:13:26 | 00:13:28 | that |
00:13:27 | 00:13:30 | there's going to be more competition but |
00:13:28 | 00:13:30 | you're going to have more results that |
00:13:30 | 00:13:32 | show up |
00:13:30 | 00:13:35 | so i'm going to put it for 500 for right |
00:13:32 | 00:13:37 | now so minimum sales is how many |
00:13:35 | 00:13:39 | monthly sales they are doing so how many |
00:13:37 | 00:13:42 | orders are they |
00:13:39 | 00:13:44 | moving per month and i would say that |
00:13:42 | 00:13:47 | you want to look for |
00:13:44 | 00:13:50 | products that are doing a minimum of 300 |
00:13:47 | 00:13:52 | orders per month because that if you do |
00:13:50 | 00:13:53 | the math that adds up to about 10 units |
00:13:52 | 00:13:56 | per day |
00:13:53 | 00:13:58 | that's a good number to start with um |
00:13:56 | 00:14:00 | anything less if they're doing like five |
00:13:58 | 00:14:02 | units per day or three units today |
00:14:00 | 00:14:04 | per day it's not very significant so you |
00:14:02 | 00:14:07 | want to look for |
00:14:04 | 00:14:08 | a category that has quite a bit of |
00:14:07 | 00:14:12 | traction |
00:14:08 | 00:14:15 | so 300 per day is a good number |
00:14:12 | 00:14:16 | so you can obviously add more filters |
00:14:15 | 00:14:20 | here but i would say |
00:14:16 | 00:14:23 | these are the uh basic ones |
00:14:20 | 00:14:24 | minimum and maximum weight you could put |
00:14:23 | 00:14:27 | that in there like if you don't want |
00:14:24 | 00:14:28 | something that's too heavy because you |
00:14:27 | 00:14:30 | know the heavier the product the more |
00:14:28 | 00:14:32 | it's going to cost you to ship the item |
00:14:30 | 00:14:35 | so you could say you don't want anything |
00:14:32 | 00:14:37 | that's above like 2.5 pounds |
00:14:35 | 00:14:39 | and there are some other things that you |
00:14:37 | 00:14:40 | could input here for myself i'm going to |
00:14:39 | 00:14:42 | leave this blank |
00:14:40 | 00:14:44 | the only other thing that i'm going to |
00:14:42 | 00:14:48 | insert here is um |
00:14:44 | 00:14:51 | maximum rating so the rating is how well |
00:14:48 | 00:14:54 | do customers rate your product on amazon |
00:14:51 | 00:14:56 | and if we look here this product here is |
00:14:54 | 00:14:59 | rated 4.7 out of 5. |
00:14:56 | 00:15:00 | so it's rated very well actually all |
00:14:59 | 00:15:03 | these products are rated very well |
00:15:00 | 00:15:05 | this one's five out of five so they've |
00:15:03 | 00:15:08 | done a really great job |
00:15:05 | 00:15:10 | um and what we want to do is |
00:15:08 | 00:15:12 | we don't want to go into a category |
00:15:10 | 00:15:15 | where everyone's |
00:15:12 | 00:15:16 | like doing so well so we don't want to |
00:15:15 | 00:15:19 | go into a category where |
00:15:16 | 00:15:20 | every product is listed as rated five |
00:15:19 | 00:15:21 | stars |
00:15:20 | 00:15:24 | because that means that we don't really |
00:15:21 | 00:15:25 | have anything to approve improve upon |
00:15:24 | 00:15:28 | all the other sellers are doing really |
00:15:25 | 00:15:30 | well customers are very happy |
00:15:28 | 00:15:31 | we want to look for products that have |
00:15:30 | 00:15:34 | high demand |
00:15:31 | 00:15:36 | but that need improvement so this here |
00:15:34 | 00:15:39 | is an example of a product that is |
00:15:36 | 00:15:41 | rated poorly it's 3.1 out of 5 stars |
00:15:39 | 00:15:42 | and i don't know about you but if i'm |
00:15:41 | 00:15:44 | shopping on amazon i'm looking for |
00:15:42 | 00:15:47 | products that are rated like at least |
00:15:44 | 00:15:48 | four stars out of five you know four out |
00:15:47 | 00:15:50 | of |
00:15:48 | 00:15:52 | five is reasonable but anything below |
00:15:50 | 00:15:53 | that then i'm like questioning the |
00:15:52 | 00:15:56 | quality of the product |
00:15:53 | 00:15:57 | and i'm kind of expecting that i'm going |
00:15:56 | 00:15:59 | to be disappointed in the product if |
00:15:57 | 00:16:01 | other people are disappointed in it |
00:15:59 | 00:16:02 | because remember that this is rated by |
00:16:01 | 00:16:04 | all the customers |
00:16:02 | 00:16:07 | and so this is social proof so the |
00:16:04 | 00:16:08 | reason why we are looking for products |
00:16:07 | 00:16:10 | like this is because we're not just |
00:16:08 | 00:16:11 | looking for products that are rated |
00:16:10 | 00:16:12 | poorly |
00:16:11 | 00:16:15 | we're looking for products that are |
00:16:12 | 00:16:17 | rated poorly but have high demand |
00:16:15 | 00:16:19 | what that means is that even though this |
00:16:17 | 00:16:21 | product is rated three |
00:16:19 | 00:16:22 | out of five stars people are still |
00:16:21 | 00:16:25 | buying it |
00:16:22 | 00:16:26 | because people want it people need this |
00:16:25 | 00:16:29 | product |
00:16:26 | 00:16:31 | and unfortunately the sellers on amazon |
00:16:29 | 00:16:32 | are not doing a good job at providing |
00:16:31 | 00:16:34 | the highest quality product |
00:16:32 | 00:16:36 | but they're still getting sales and so |
00:16:34 | 00:16:39 | what that tells us is that |
00:16:36 | 00:16:40 | as amazon sellers we can now go in we |
00:16:39 | 00:16:42 | can go and find a manufacturer |
00:16:40 | 00:16:44 | and source a premium version of this |
00:16:42 | 00:16:45 | product |
00:16:44 | 00:16:47 | and we can get five-star reviews because |
00:16:45 | 00:16:50 | we're sourcing a better version |
00:16:47 | 00:16:51 | and that way people will who are |
00:16:50 | 00:16:52 | purchasing looking to purchase this |
00:16:51 | 00:16:54 | product |
00:16:52 | 00:16:55 | will naturally gravitate towards us |
00:16:54 | 00:16:58 | rather than |
00:16:55 | 00:16:59 | this these sellers here who have 3.1 out |
00:16:58 | 00:17:01 | of 5 stars |
00:16:59 | 00:17:03 | so that's what we're doing here when we |
00:17:01 | 00:17:07 | input |
00:17:03 | 00:17:09 | uh 3.7 so the reason we put 3.7 because |
00:17:07 | 00:17:10 | on amazon it looks like three and a half |
00:17:09 | 00:17:12 | stars |
00:17:10 | 00:17:14 | um so that's what i would input i |
00:17:12 | 00:17:17 | wouldn't put a minimum rating because |
00:17:14 | 00:17:18 | even if a product has one star but it |
00:17:17 | 00:17:21 | has a lot of demand |
00:17:18 | 00:17:22 | that's great fine no problem you don't |
00:17:21 | 00:17:25 | have to put this |
00:17:22 | 00:17:27 | but it's just gonna help you find uh |
00:17:25 | 00:17:29 | better product opportunities because |
00:17:27 | 00:17:30 | you're not just looking at products that |
00:17:29 | 00:17:31 | have demand |
00:17:30 | 00:17:33 | but you're looking at products where |
00:17:31 | 00:17:35 | there's room for improvement |
00:17:33 | 00:17:38 | so other than that the rest of the stuff |
00:17:35 | 00:17:39 | isn't as important |
00:17:38 | 00:17:41 | you don't necessarily have to include |
00:17:39 | 00:17:44 | keywords or exclude |
00:17:41 | 00:17:47 | excluding top brands simply means that |
00:17:44 | 00:17:48 | if there are big brand names then you |
00:17:47 | 00:17:49 | wouldn't want them to show up in the |
00:17:48 | 00:17:52 | results |
00:17:49 | 00:17:52 | and there's a reason for that the reason |
00:17:52 | 00:17:54 | is because |
00:17:52 | 00:17:57 | people like know and trust the big brand |
00:17:54 | 00:17:59 | names big brand names spend |
00:17:57 | 00:18:01 | hundreds of thousands if not millions of |
00:17:59 | 00:18:03 | dollars on their marketing |
00:18:01 | 00:18:05 | um and so if you're competing up against |
00:18:03 | 00:18:07 | with one of those big brand names you're |
00:18:05 | 00:18:09 | you're just not going to win |
00:18:07 | 00:18:11 | so for example huggies is a really big |
00:18:09 | 00:18:13 | brand name for babies |
00:18:11 | 00:18:15 | and if you're selling a product very |
00:18:13 | 00:18:17 | much like theirs |
00:18:15 | 00:18:18 | it's hard to compete with them so you |
00:18:17 | 00:18:20 | may want to exclude |
00:18:18 | 00:18:22 | exclude top brand names but i wouldn't |
00:18:20 | 00:18:23 | for right now we're just trying to keep |
00:18:22 | 00:18:26 | things a bit more broad |
00:18:23 | 00:18:28 | so you can go ahead and search that and |
00:18:26 | 00:18:31 | using the jungle scout database and so |
00:18:28 | 00:18:33 | now we are seeing um |
00:18:31 | 00:18:34 | we're seeing 80 results so from all of |
00:18:33 | 00:18:37 | this selection here |
00:18:34 | 00:18:38 | because i've used the filters we are now |
00:18:37 | 00:18:40 | seeing 80 results |
00:18:38 | 00:18:42 | so that's good so that means i don't |
00:18:40 | 00:18:44 | have to sift through hundreds of |
00:18:42 | 00:18:45 | amazon pages to look for products that |
00:18:44 | 00:18:47 | meet this criteria |
00:18:45 | 00:18:49 | i can just have jungle scout do the work |
00:18:47 | 00:18:50 | for us now what i'm going to do is i'm |
00:18:49 | 00:18:52 | going to go through these |
00:18:50 | 00:18:54 | if there's anything that's peaking my |
00:18:52 | 00:18:56 | attention i'm going to |
00:18:54 | 00:18:58 | put it in the spreadsheet so that i can |
00:18:56 | 00:19:00 | later do further analysis on that |
00:18:58 | 00:19:00 | product |
00:19:01 | 00:19:05 | this looks like some type of paint |
00:19:06 | 00:19:10 | i mean they're doing pretty good with 39 |
00:19:08 | 00:19:12 | 000 a month so yeah i am quite |
00:19:10 | 00:19:14 | interested in this and then if you don't |
00:19:12 | 00:19:15 | want to create a spreadsheet like a |
00:19:14 | 00:19:18 | separate spreadsheet you can actually |
00:19:15 | 00:19:20 | use jungle scout jungle scout has this |
00:19:18 | 00:19:21 | feature for you uh let me see where we |
00:19:20 | 00:19:23 | can do that |
00:19:21 | 00:19:25 | where you can just say here add product |
00:19:23 | 00:19:27 | to your product tracker |
00:19:25 | 00:19:29 | so let's create a new group we'll call |
00:19:27 | 00:19:31 | it um |
00:19:29 | 00:19:33 | we're going to call it the arts group so |
00:19:31 | 00:19:34 | this would be like instead of using a |
00:19:33 | 00:19:36 | spreadsheet |
00:19:34 | 00:19:39 | which actually i would recommend it's |
00:19:36 | 00:19:40 | just easier to keep it all in one place |
00:19:39 | 00:19:42 | okay so here we have some sort of |
00:19:40 | 00:19:45 | portable sewing machine |
00:19:42 | 00:19:47 | that looks kind of interesting um i |
00:19:45 | 00:19:50 | wonder how heavy it is though but it is |
00:19:47 | 00:19:51 | selling at a good price 59.99 |
00:19:50 | 00:19:53 | i like to see products that are selling |
00:19:51 | 00:19:54 | at a higher price because that often |
00:19:53 | 00:19:56 | means that there's going to be more of a |
00:19:54 | 00:19:57 | profit margin for me |
00:19:56 | 00:20:01 | um you can see here that they're kind of |
00:19:57 | 00:20:01 | estimating the profit |
00:20:02 | 00:20:07 | so here they're saying that your profit |
00:20:04 | 00:20:10 | would be around 42 dollars |
00:20:07 | 00:20:12 | which sounds pretty great |
00:20:10 | 00:20:13 | so yeah i definitely am more interested |
00:20:12 | 00:20:14 | in this product i would like to |
00:20:13 | 00:20:16 | investigate it further so i'm just going |
00:20:14 | 00:20:19 | to add it to my product tracker |
00:20:16 | 00:20:21 | in the arts category we can see here |
00:20:19 | 00:20:25 | another sewing machine |
00:20:21 | 00:20:27 | okay so this seems to be like another |
00:20:25 | 00:20:27 | kind of sewing machine except it's a |
00:20:27 | 00:20:31 | different |
00:20:27 | 00:20:33 | version it's a handheld sewing machine |
00:20:31 | 00:20:34 | and uh they're doing pretty well as as |
00:20:33 | 00:20:38 | well you know |
00:20:34 | 00:20:39 | 14 000 a month in revenue only 187 |
00:20:38 | 00:20:43 | reviews |
00:20:39 | 00:20:47 | uh they're making about a |
00:20:43 | 00:20:49 | 14 profit margin |
00:20:47 | 00:20:51 | not so bad i'm going to add that to my |
00:20:49 | 00:20:52 | list as well |
00:20:51 | 00:20:54 | so a lot of different kind of sewing |
00:20:52 | 00:20:55 | machines so this is kind of peaking my |
00:20:54 | 00:20:58 | curiosity about |
00:20:55 | 00:20:59 | showing sewing machines uh this is some |
00:20:58 | 00:21:02 | sort of |
00:20:59 | 00:21:03 | ring okay interesting i wouldn't sell a |
00:21:02 | 00:21:06 | ring because |
00:21:03 | 00:21:07 | a there's going to be different sizes |
00:21:06 | 00:21:09 | and you're not going to sell |
00:21:07 | 00:21:10 | every size possible so you would have to |
00:21:09 | 00:21:13 | kind of pick one |
00:21:10 | 00:21:14 | size and it can just get complex you |
00:21:13 | 00:21:16 | want to avoid picking products with |
00:21:14 | 00:21:17 | variations |
00:21:16 | 00:21:19 | a variation means that like there's |
00:21:17 | 00:21:21 | different colors different sizes |
00:21:19 | 00:21:22 | different patterns |
00:21:21 | 00:21:25 | and it just means that it's going to |
00:21:22 | 00:21:26 | cost you more in inventory and it's |
00:21:25 | 00:21:27 | going to be more complex for you as a |
00:21:26 | 00:21:29 | brand new seller |
00:21:27 | 00:21:30 | so it's better to just pick a simple |
00:21:29 | 00:21:32 | product something that's like |
00:21:30 | 00:21:34 | there's only one uh you're not selling |
00:21:32 | 00:21:37 | multiple items |
00:21:34 | 00:21:39 | so this i i would not be interested in |
00:21:37 | 00:21:39 | selling |
00:21:39 | 00:21:44 | okay what's this so this is some sort of |
00:21:42 | 00:21:47 | vinyl |
00:21:44 | 00:21:48 | wow they're doing really well let's add |
00:21:47 | 00:21:51 | this |
00:21:48 | 00:21:52 | so i'm not really going into too much |
00:21:51 | 00:21:54 | research here i'm just like picking |
00:21:52 | 00:21:56 | products that i'm interested in |
00:21:54 | 00:21:57 | discovering more |
00:21:56 | 00:22:00 | and we're gonna go through those in |
00:21:57 | 00:22:02 | detail a little bit more after |
00:22:00 | 00:22:03 | so i'm just going to go ahead and go |
00:22:02 | 00:22:05 | through all of these results and then |
00:22:03 | 00:22:08 | continue to pick my products |
00:22:05 | 00:22:09 | if i don't find enough products that i'm |
00:22:08 | 00:22:11 | interested in |
00:22:09 | 00:22:13 | or viable products then what i would do |
00:22:11 | 00:22:15 | is i would select other categories |
00:22:13 | 00:22:17 | so for example let's say i'm also |
00:22:15 | 00:22:18 | interested in baby well right now i have |
00:22:17 | 00:22:21 | 80 results |
00:22:18 | 00:22:23 | so with the same exact filters but |
00:22:21 | 00:22:25 | adding another category |
00:22:23 | 00:22:26 | now how many products i have are 165 to |
00:22:25 | 00:22:28 | choose from |
00:22:26 | 00:22:30 | so you could then you know select more |
00:22:28 | 00:22:32 | categories if you're struggling to find |
00:22:30 | 00:22:33 | products or you could you know change |
00:22:32 | 00:22:35 | your filters a bit more |
00:22:33 | 00:22:36 | all right so we are here in the product |
00:22:35 | 00:22:39 | tracker and this is where |
00:22:36 | 00:22:40 | we track the products that we want to |
00:22:39 | 00:22:41 | further investigate |
00:22:40 | 00:22:43 | so i'm going to start with this one here |
00:22:41 | 00:22:45 | this is quite interesting the handheld |
00:22:43 | 00:22:47 | sewing machine so i'm going to open it |
00:22:45 | 00:22:49 | on amazon |
00:22:47 | 00:22:51 | as we can see here this is the listing |
00:22:49 | 00:22:54 | so what i want to do is i want to find |
00:22:51 | 00:22:56 | the main keyword for this product the |
00:22:54 | 00:22:58 | main keyword is just what |
00:22:56 | 00:23:00 | it's what customers are searching for on |
00:22:58 | 00:23:02 | the amazon search engine |
00:23:00 | 00:23:03 | so you know you as you are a customer |
00:23:02 | 00:23:05 | what would you search for if you were |
00:23:03 | 00:23:06 | looking for this product |
00:23:05 | 00:23:08 | chances are you're not going to be |
00:23:06 | 00:23:10 | searching for a cordless |
00:23:08 | 00:23:12 | portable electric sewing machine you're |
00:23:10 | 00:23:14 | just going to be searching for handheld |
00:23:12 | 00:23:16 | sewing machine so that would be the main |
00:23:14 | 00:23:18 | keyword so i'm going to paste this |
00:23:16 | 00:23:20 | here oops without the brand name that's |
00:23:18 | 00:23:23 | their brand name |
00:23:20 | 00:23:25 | and i'm going to select all departments |
00:23:23 | 00:23:27 | instead of just selecting one department |
00:23:25 | 00:23:28 | and this is going to help me further |
00:23:27 | 00:23:31 | investigate the |
00:23:28 | 00:23:32 | product as a category rather than the |
00:23:31 | 00:23:34 | individual product |
00:23:32 | 00:23:37 | so for this i'm going to click on the |
00:23:34 | 00:23:40 | jungle scout chrome extension |
00:23:37 | 00:23:41 | and it's going to pull up a lot of data |
00:23:40 | 00:23:43 | it's going to do a lot of math for me so |
00:23:41 | 00:23:45 | if you're anything like myself who's |
00:23:43 | 00:23:47 | a bit mathematikally challenged this is |
00:23:45 | 00:23:49 | super helpful |
00:23:47 | 00:23:50 | and so what i'm going to do here is i'm |
00:23:49 | 00:23:52 | just going to start looking at the |
00:23:50 | 00:23:55 | numbers to get a better idea of |
00:23:52 | 00:23:57 | what this category offers so |
00:23:55 | 00:23:59 | monthly sales we want to see that the |
00:23:57 | 00:24:01 | numbers above 300 |
00:23:59 | 00:24:03 | these are the average monthly sales |
00:24:01 | 00:24:05 | remember that we want to see that |
00:24:03 | 00:24:07 | on average people are selling more than |
00:24:05 | 00:24:09 | 10 units uh per day |
00:24:07 | 00:24:10 | and so it's good we're seeing a good |
00:24:09 | 00:24:14 | amount here |
00:24:10 | 00:24:16 | um the opportunity to score it's |
00:24:14 | 00:24:18 | it's good information to have but i |
00:24:16 | 00:24:20 | wouldn't depend on it |
00:24:18 | 00:24:22 | i find that sometimes it can be |
00:24:20 | 00:24:23 | misleading |
00:24:22 | 00:24:26 | what we really want to look at here are |
00:24:23 | 00:24:26 | like the top 10 listings and we want to |
00:24:26 | 00:24:28 | see |
00:24:26 | 00:24:30 | the information about it now we want to |
00:24:28 | 00:24:32 | be careful because |
00:24:30 | 00:24:34 | even though we typed in handheld sewing |
00:24:32 | 00:24:34 | machine you can see here that some of |
00:24:34 | 00:24:36 | the |
00:24:34 | 00:24:38 | the search results are not handheld |
00:24:36 | 00:24:39 | sewing machine these are full-size |
00:24:38 | 00:24:41 | sewing machines |
00:24:39 | 00:24:43 | so we want to remove these from the |
00:24:41 | 00:24:45 | search results because they are skewing |
00:24:43 | 00:24:46 | the results so we are only looking for |
00:24:45 | 00:24:48 | products |
00:24:46 | 00:24:50 | um that are similar to the product that |
00:24:48 | 00:24:53 | we chose in the product tracker |
00:24:50 | 00:24:55 | so in this case i would remove this |
00:24:53 | 00:24:56 | because it's not fitting the results |
00:24:55 | 00:24:58 | this also this is like |
00:24:56 | 00:25:00 | a different kind of sewing machine but |
00:24:58 | 00:25:03 | it's not what i'm looking for |
00:25:00 | 00:25:04 | same with this so as you can see as i |
00:25:03 | 00:25:07 | remove this |
00:25:04 | 00:25:11 | it changes the numbers here this looks |
00:25:07 | 00:25:11 | about right yep those look accurate |
00:25:12 | 00:25:18 | yep yep all of this looks about the same |
00:25:16 | 00:25:22 | great so we're getting a better idea now |
00:25:18 | 00:25:29 | once we remove the products that |
00:25:22 | 00:25:29 | are not meeting the description |
00:25:32 | 00:25:36 | so you can see average sales are |
00:25:33 | 00:25:42 | declining so i'm seeing less and less |
00:25:36 | 00:25:44 | demand for this product |
00:25:42 | 00:25:46 | all right so the rest of these so oh |
00:25:44 | 00:25:49 | this one too |
00:25:46 | 00:25:51 | okay so the rest of these are handheld |
00:25:49 | 00:25:54 | uh sewing machines so |
00:25:51 | 00:25:57 | the data is going to be more accurate |
00:25:54 | 00:26:01 | so what we are looking for here is |
00:25:57 | 00:26:04 | first and foremost we want to see that |
00:26:01 | 00:26:05 | within the top 10 uh sellers we want to |
00:26:04 | 00:26:07 | see that |
00:26:05 | 00:26:08 | you know the top 10 there are a few |
00:26:07 | 00:26:11 | listings that have |
00:26:08 | 00:26:13 | under 500 reviews if they all have like |
00:26:11 | 00:26:15 | 500 plus reviews |
00:26:13 | 00:26:17 | that means there's a lot of competition |
00:26:15 | 00:26:19 | it's going to be very hard for |
00:26:17 | 00:26:21 | us to compete with them so we're looking |
00:26:19 | 00:26:24 | for sellers who have fewer than 500 |
00:26:21 | 00:26:25 | reviews but are still doing well |
00:26:24 | 00:26:28 | so in this case we can see here that |
00:26:25 | 00:26:30 | this one's about 236 and they're doing |
00:26:28 | 00:26:33 | roughly 54 000 |
00:26:30 | 00:26:37 | per month in revenue 106 doing |
00:26:33 | 00:26:40 | 14 000 46 doing 14 000 |
00:26:37 | 00:26:42 | so we are seeing that there are some |
00:26:40 | 00:26:43 | here that have quite a large number of |
00:26:42 | 00:26:45 | reviews |
00:26:43 | 00:26:46 | but we're also seeing some that have way |
00:26:45 | 00:26:49 | fewer |
00:26:46 | 00:26:52 | and so um this is looking |
00:26:49 | 00:26:53 | more promising right 97 reviews and |
00:26:52 | 00:26:55 | they're doing 18 |
00:26:53 | 00:26:57 | 000 a month so in fact they're doing |
00:26:55 | 00:27:00 | better than this listing here who has |
00:26:57 | 00:27:02 | 1500 reviews doing around 14 000 |
00:27:00 | 00:27:04 | a month so we're looking to make sure |
00:27:02 | 00:27:06 | that there's no monopoly |
00:27:04 | 00:27:08 | sometimes we can see that there is one |
00:27:06 | 00:27:11 | listing that gets |
00:27:08 | 00:27:12 | almost all of the sales so this listing |
00:27:11 | 00:27:15 | is |
00:27:12 | 00:27:16 | um the the main competitor and most |
00:27:15 | 00:27:19 | people who buy this product |
00:27:16 | 00:27:20 | buy from this seller and so if you see |
00:27:19 | 00:27:22 | that |
00:27:20 | 00:27:23 | that's something to be aware of because |
00:27:22 | 00:27:25 | then they may be |
00:27:23 | 00:27:27 | uh you know they're taking up all the |
00:27:25 | 00:27:30 | market share they are |
00:27:27 | 00:27:31 | um it's going to be very hard for you to |
00:27:30 | 00:27:32 | compete with that so we're looking |
00:27:31 | 00:27:35 | we're not we don't want to see a |
00:27:32 | 00:27:36 | monopoly here and in this case it's |
00:27:35 | 00:27:38 | looking like |
00:27:36 | 00:27:40 | the sales are evenly distributed among |
00:27:38 | 00:27:43 | sellers |
00:27:40 | 00:27:44 | even those with few reviews so that's |
00:27:43 | 00:27:45 | good |
00:27:44 | 00:27:47 | another thing we are looking for is the |
00:27:45 | 00:27:48 | rating so again we kind of want to look |
00:27:47 | 00:27:51 | for |
00:27:48 | 00:27:52 | a category where not every seller is |
00:27:51 | 00:27:55 | rated 5 stars |
00:27:52 | 00:27:57 | or 4.7 stars or 4.5 |
00:27:55 | 00:27:59 | we want to see a category where there's |
00:27:57 | 00:28:00 | room for improvement |
00:27:59 | 00:28:02 | and so we are seeing that here there are |
00:28:00 | 00:28:05 | some that are rated high |
00:28:02 | 00:28:08 | some that are rated low so there's |
00:28:05 | 00:28:10 | definitely room for improvement |
00:28:08 | 00:28:11 | we're also looking to see if there's any |
00:28:10 | 00:28:14 | big brand names |
00:28:11 | 00:28:16 | again we want to avoid any really large |
00:28:14 | 00:28:18 | brand names that |
00:28:16 | 00:28:19 | may be making it much harder for us to |
00:28:18 | 00:28:23 | compete |
00:28:19 | 00:28:24 | in this case uh i'm not sure this may be |
00:28:23 | 00:28:26 | a big brand name |
00:28:24 | 00:28:28 | i'm not familiar with handheld sewing |
00:28:26 | 00:28:30 | machines but i could |
00:28:28 | 00:28:32 | the way i could find out is i could copy |
00:28:30 | 00:28:34 | the brand name |
00:28:32 | 00:28:36 | and i could paste it into google to |
00:28:34 | 00:28:37 | learn more or i could click here on the |
00:28:36 | 00:28:44 | brand |
00:28:37 | 00:28:45 | see what they're selling |
00:28:44 | 00:28:48 | and in this case i'm going to actually |
00:28:45 | 00:28:50 | paste it into google |
00:28:48 | 00:28:51 | uh it doesn't seem like they are a big |
00:28:50 | 00:28:53 | brand name |
00:28:51 | 00:28:55 | if they were they would have definitely |
00:28:53 | 00:28:57 | showed up in the top results here |
00:28:55 | 00:28:58 | so in this case it just it's it's not a |
00:28:57 | 00:28:59 | big brand name that i need to be |
00:28:58 | 00:29:02 | worrying about |
00:28:59 | 00:29:03 | so in terms of profit margin you are |
00:29:02 | 00:29:06 | looking to |
00:29:03 | 00:29:10 | uh have a gross 30 |
00:29:06 | 00:29:13 | profit margin and above and |
00:29:10 | 00:29:13 | you could get by with a 25 profit margin |
00:29:13 | 00:29:15 | but |
00:29:13 | 00:29:18 | it's really going to help you to have at |
00:29:15 | 00:29:21 | least 30 because you have to account for |
00:29:18 | 00:29:25 | marketing expenses promotions |
00:29:21 | 00:29:27 | there are going to be costs um that are |
00:29:25 | 00:29:28 | especially when you're first building |
00:29:27 | 00:29:30 | your brand and starting to sell your |
00:29:28 | 00:29:31 | product for the first time there are |
00:29:30 | 00:29:33 | more expenses so |
00:29:31 | 00:29:35 | you want to try and aim for a 30 plus |
00:29:33 | 00:29:37 | profit margin |
00:29:35 | 00:29:38 | jungle scout has this profit uh |
00:29:37 | 00:29:41 | calculator here |
00:29:38 | 00:29:42 | so based on the category the size of the |
00:29:41 | 00:29:44 | product |
00:29:42 | 00:29:46 | it tells you what the fba fulfillment |
00:29:44 | 00:29:49 | fee is for this product they're paying |
00:29:46 | 00:29:51 | 7.78 per product sold |
00:29:49 | 00:29:54 | so yeah the fba fee it's quite high it's |
00:29:51 | 00:29:56 | usually up to 15 percent |
00:29:54 | 00:29:58 | uh which you know that's just the cost |
00:29:56 | 00:30:00 | of doing business on amazon and it's |
00:29:58 | 00:30:01 | definitely worth it for what they do for |
00:30:00 | 00:30:04 | us |
00:30:01 | 00:30:05 | um sorry that's the fulfillment fee and |
00:30:04 | 00:30:07 | the referral fee is three dollars and |
00:30:05 | 00:30:09 | ninety cents |
00:30:07 | 00:30:10 | now in order to get a more accurate uh |
00:30:09 | 00:30:13 | profit margin |
00:30:10 | 00:30:15 | here we're showing a 14 profit margin |
00:30:13 | 00:30:15 | but we need to know what the product |
00:30:15 | 00:30:17 | cost |
00:30:15 | 00:30:18 | is and you're not really going to know |
00:30:17 | 00:30:20 | what the exact |
00:30:18 | 00:30:23 | cost of the product is until you |
00:30:20 | 00:30:25 | actually reach out to suppliers |
00:30:23 | 00:30:27 | so if you are now narrowing down your |
00:30:25 | 00:30:29 | list so by now you should have like at |
00:30:27 | 00:30:31 | least 20 products |
00:30:29 | 00:30:32 | you know 15 to 20 products on your |
00:30:31 | 00:30:34 | product list |
00:30:32 | 00:30:36 | and then you got to narrow that product |
00:30:34 | 00:30:38 | list down and eventually you narrow that |
00:30:36 | 00:30:39 | product list down to your top three |
00:30:38 | 00:30:41 | products |
00:30:39 | 00:30:43 | that you would choose to sell on amazon |
00:30:41 | 00:30:44 | and how you determine which product to |
00:30:43 | 00:30:46 | go |
00:30:44 | 00:30:49 | with is you have to contact suppliers to |
00:30:46 | 00:30:52 | find out what the true profit margin is |
00:30:49 | 00:30:53 | and so the way that you do that |
00:30:52 | 00:30:55 | is you can use a website such as |
00:30:53 | 00:30:57 | alibaba.com |
00:30:55 | 00:30:59 | and you can type in the main keyword in |
00:30:57 | 00:31:02 | that website |
00:30:59 | 00:31:04 | and we are going to be looking for |
00:31:02 | 00:31:06 | products that are very similar |
00:31:04 | 00:31:07 | that look very similar to the product |
00:31:06 | 00:31:10 | that we wish to sell |
00:31:07 | 00:31:12 | so aesthetikally we're looking for a |
00:31:10 | 00:31:13 | product that looks like that handheld |
00:31:12 | 00:31:17 | sewing machine |
00:31:13 | 00:31:19 | so this could maybe pass maybe this one |
00:31:17 | 00:31:21 | we're trying to get as close as possible |
00:31:19 | 00:31:26 | to this |
00:31:21 | 00:31:26 | which let me click on it |
00:31:31 | 00:31:34 | so that's what it looks like they |
00:31:33 | 00:31:36 | actually don't even have their logo on |
00:31:34 | 00:31:40 | it or anything |
00:31:36 | 00:31:42 | so let's see here |
00:31:40 | 00:31:44 | i mean this looks pretty much pretty |
00:31:42 | 00:31:45 | much identikal so i'm going to click on |
00:31:44 | 00:31:46 | this product |
00:31:45 | 00:31:49 | now you're going to see here this is |
00:31:46 | 00:31:52 | alibaba so they have a price range |
00:31:49 | 00:31:55 | between 2.39 to |
00:31:52 | 00:31:57 | 2.59 so that's going to give you |
00:31:55 | 00:31:59 | an estimate of how much per unit the |
00:31:57 | 00:32:00 | product cost |
00:31:59 | 00:32:02 | now it's going to depend on how many |
00:32:00 | 00:32:03 | units you order |
00:32:02 | 00:32:06 | the larger your order with the |
00:32:03 | 00:32:10 | manufacturer the cheaper it is per |
00:32:06 | 00:32:11 | unit so if you order a small quantity |
00:32:10 | 00:32:14 | they're going to tell you what their moq |
00:32:11 | 00:32:16 | is moq stands for minimum |
00:32:14 | 00:32:17 | order quantity and if you order the |
00:32:16 | 00:32:20 | smallest |
00:32:17 | 00:32:22 | quantity which say their minimum order |
00:32:20 | 00:32:23 | is 300 units and that's how many units |
00:32:22 | 00:32:24 | you order |
00:32:23 | 00:32:26 | then the price per unit is going to be |
00:32:24 | 00:32:29 | more than if you were to order a |
00:32:26 | 00:32:30 | thousand units if you ordered a thousand |
00:32:29 | 00:32:33 | units it would be a little bit |
00:32:30 | 00:32:35 | less expensive per unit and so they do |
00:32:33 | 00:32:37 | this because they encourage you to place |
00:32:35 | 00:32:39 | larger orders |
00:32:37 | 00:32:40 | so you can get kind of a bit of an |
00:32:39 | 00:32:43 | estimate here |
00:32:40 | 00:32:43 | for now you can plug this information |
00:32:43 | 00:32:47 | into |
00:32:43 | 00:32:49 | the jungle scout uh |
00:32:47 | 00:32:51 | profit margin calculator but you can |
00:32:49 | 00:32:54 | just simply contact the supplier |
00:32:51 | 00:32:56 | and ask them what their minimum order is |
00:32:54 | 00:32:57 | ask them how much it will cost and ask |
00:32:56 | 00:32:59 | them like |
00:32:57 | 00:33:01 | hey can i put my brand name on this |
00:32:59 | 00:33:03 | product can i customize this product |
00:33:01 | 00:33:05 | so we're going to get into that in a |
00:33:03 | 00:33:06 | second so you can put in the product |
00:33:05 | 00:33:08 | cost here |
00:33:06 | 00:33:09 | um even if you're just estimating for |
00:33:08 | 00:33:10 | now just to kind of help you narrow down |
00:33:09 | 00:33:13 | that |
00:33:10 | 00:33:14 | product list and then you can calculate |
00:33:13 | 00:33:17 | and you can see here that the return on |
00:33:14 | 00:33:20 | investment is 499 percent |
00:33:17 | 00:33:21 | which is good you want to aim for at |
00:33:20 | 00:33:24 | least a 100 |
00:33:21 | 00:33:26 | 100 roi which means that for |
00:33:24 | 00:33:27 | every dollar you put in you're getting |
00:33:26 | 00:33:30 | two dollars back |
00:33:27 | 00:33:31 | and your profit margin we can calculate |
00:33:30 | 00:33:36 | it with the |
00:33:31 | 00:33:37 | calculator here we can do a profit of |
00:33:36 | 00:33:40 | 11.92 |
00:33:37 | 00:33:43 | divided by the product cost product |
00:33:40 | 00:33:43 | price |
00:33:46 | 00:33:52 | so about a 45 profit margin here |
00:33:49 | 00:33:54 | and there are going to be other expenses |
00:33:52 | 00:33:56 | right so this is kind of an estimated |
00:33:54 | 00:33:58 | gross profit margin |
00:33:56 | 00:33:59 | so you know you can calculate that |
00:33:58 | 00:34:02 | there's probably going to be another 5 |
00:33:59 | 00:34:05 | 10 that comes out of that for |
00:34:02 | 00:34:07 | landed costs for marketing any |
00:34:05 | 00:34:10 | additional expenses so |
00:34:07 | 00:34:10 | this may work this may be a product that |
00:34:10 | 00:34:13 | is |
00:34:10 | 00:34:14 | has enough profit has enough demand you |
00:34:13 | 00:34:16 | would still need to do a bit more |
00:34:14 | 00:34:18 | investigation of course this was just |
00:34:16 | 00:34:20 | very very basic i'm just giving you a |
00:34:18 | 00:34:21 | simple example here is the first product |
00:34:20 | 00:34:23 | i picked |
00:34:21 | 00:34:24 | so by no means am i saying go and source |
00:34:23 | 00:34:26 | this product |
00:34:24 | 00:34:28 | you definitely need to investigate |
00:34:26 | 00:34:30 | further but this gives you an idea of |
00:34:28 | 00:34:32 | what what we're trying to do here |
00:34:30 | 00:34:34 | so to help me make my decision a few |
00:34:32 | 00:34:36 | other things i'm going to consider |
00:34:34 | 00:34:37 | aside from the profit margin and making |
00:34:36 | 00:34:40 | sure that the numbers add up |
00:34:37 | 00:34:41 | is number one is how can i improve this |
00:34:40 | 00:34:42 | product |
00:34:41 | 00:34:44 | so again this comes back to kind of |
00:34:42 | 00:34:46 | looking at the reviews |
00:34:44 | 00:34:47 | so what i would do here is i would click |
00:34:46 | 00:34:50 | on the reviews |
00:34:47 | 00:34:52 | i would go and look at all the you know |
00:34:50 | 00:34:54 | four star and below reviews |
00:34:52 | 00:34:56 | i would open up a spreadsheet and take |
00:34:54 | 00:34:58 | notes to see what are the most common |
00:34:56 | 00:34:59 | complaints that people have about this |
00:34:58 | 00:35:00 | product |
00:34:59 | 00:35:02 | so if i look here at the one star |
00:35:00 | 00:35:04 | reviews let's read a few of them |
00:35:02 | 00:35:07 | together |
00:35:04 | 00:35:08 | um unit literally died the very second i |
00:35:07 | 00:35:12 | used it |
00:35:08 | 00:35:12 | okay so that's not good |
00:35:14 | 00:35:17 | um |
00:35:18 | 00:35:22 | okay so just really low quality |
00:35:27 | 00:35:31 | okay so people are very unhappy with |
00:35:29 | 00:35:32 | this product it's rated 2.7 out of 5 |
00:35:31 | 00:35:35 | stars so |
00:35:32 | 00:35:37 | it's rated really poorly so we could |
00:35:35 | 00:35:39 | definitely make some improvements now |
00:35:37 | 00:35:41 | the way that we do this so once i have |
00:35:39 | 00:35:43 | read the feedback from |
00:35:41 | 00:35:45 | existing customers what i'm going to do |
00:35:43 | 00:35:47 | is i'm going to take some notes |
00:35:45 | 00:35:48 | and i'm going to contact suppliers on |
00:35:47 | 00:35:49 | alibaba |
00:35:48 | 00:35:51 | i'm going to let them know hey like this |
00:35:49 | 00:35:53 | is the feedback from customers |
00:35:51 | 00:35:55 | i want to make these improvements to the |
00:35:53 | 00:35:56 | product can you do that |
00:35:55 | 00:35:58 | and you don't want to make too many |
00:35:56 | 00:36:00 | improvements you want to you want to |
00:35:58 | 00:36:03 | identify what are the most |
00:36:00 | 00:36:04 | uh important things that i could do to |
00:36:03 | 00:36:05 | really improve the quality of this |
00:36:04 | 00:36:07 | product |
00:36:05 | 00:36:09 | for this product like obviously quality |
00:36:07 | 00:36:10 | is an issue so |
00:36:09 | 00:36:12 | naturally you're going to be looking for |
00:36:10 | 00:36:15 | a supplier that is higher quality so it |
00:36:12 | 00:36:15 | may cost you more per unit to find that |
00:36:15 | 00:36:17 | supplier |
00:36:15 | 00:36:19 | you contact the supplier and you ask |
00:36:17 | 00:36:22 | them can you make these modifications |
00:36:19 | 00:36:23 | and if so how much is it going to cost |
00:36:22 | 00:36:24 | me to do that |
00:36:23 | 00:36:26 | because remember that they're not just |
00:36:24 | 00:36:28 | going to do it for free they're going to |
00:36:26 | 00:36:29 | charge you for it so usually it's not |
00:36:28 | 00:36:31 | going to cost |
00:36:29 | 00:36:33 | much it's going to be maybe a few |
00:36:31 | 00:36:34 | pennies maybe a couple dollars |
00:36:33 | 00:36:36 | it really depends on what the |
00:36:34 | 00:36:38 | modifications are |
00:36:36 | 00:36:40 | but your goal is to do maybe one or two |
00:36:38 | 00:36:43 | things that can make a significant |
00:36:40 | 00:36:45 | impact and create for an overall better |
00:36:43 | 00:36:46 | customer experience so that when people |
00:36:45 | 00:36:49 | buy this product |
00:36:46 | 00:36:51 | they are willing and happy to leave you |
00:36:49 | 00:36:54 | a five-star review because |
00:36:51 | 00:36:56 | you delivered you promised a product and |
00:36:54 | 00:36:59 | you delivered on that promise |
00:36:56 | 00:37:00 | and so that's what our goal is so if you |
00:36:59 | 00:37:02 | find that a product |
00:37:00 | 00:37:04 | there's not much that you can do to |
00:37:02 | 00:37:06 | improve it or you lack ideas |
00:37:04 | 00:37:08 | maybe the suppliers are unable to |
00:37:06 | 00:37:09 | improve it or it would |
00:37:08 | 00:37:11 | cost you too much to make those |
00:37:09 | 00:37:12 | modifications |
00:37:11 | 00:37:14 | then you know that's something that i |
00:37:12 | 00:37:15 | would consider maybe that's not a good |
00:37:14 | 00:37:16 | fit for you maybe there's another |
00:37:15 | 00:37:19 | product that you could pick |
00:37:16 | 00:37:21 | that may be a better option now the |
00:37:19 | 00:37:24 | second thing you need to consider |
00:37:21 | 00:37:26 | is how am i going to market this product |
00:37:24 | 00:37:28 | marketing is is extremely important you |
00:37:26 | 00:37:33 | could have a |
00:37:28 | 00:37:34 | fantastik product to sell high quality |
00:37:33 | 00:37:36 | something that's really going to help |
00:37:34 | 00:37:38 | people but if you don't know how to |
00:37:36 | 00:37:38 | market your product if you don't know |
00:37:38 | 00:37:41 | how to get it |
00:37:38 | 00:37:43 | in front of people then they're never |
00:37:41 | 00:37:44 | gonna have the opportunity to purchase |
00:37:43 | 00:37:47 | the product from you |
00:37:44 | 00:37:49 | and so your marketing is very important |
00:37:47 | 00:37:50 | and so yes there are certain things on |
00:37:49 | 00:37:51 | amazon |
00:37:50 | 00:37:53 | like turning on amazon ads which |
00:37:51 | 00:37:55 | everyone does |
00:37:53 | 00:37:56 | that's one way to market your product |
00:37:55 | 00:37:56 | but what are you going to do aside from |
00:37:56 | 00:37:58 | that |
00:37:56 | 00:38:00 | how are you going to market this product |
00:37:58 | 00:38:01 | so there may be some products on your |
00:38:00 | 00:38:04 | list |
00:38:01 | 00:38:04 | that are more marketable than others for |
00:38:04 | 00:38:08 | example |
00:38:04 | 00:38:11 | uh like a toilet brush is gonna be |
00:38:08 | 00:38:15 | less a less appealing product to market |
00:38:11 | 00:38:17 | than say a floaty for the pool |
00:38:15 | 00:38:18 | a floatie for the pool i can think of a |
00:38:17 | 00:38:20 | million ideas |
00:38:18 | 00:38:22 | of what i'm gonna do for marketing i |
00:38:20 | 00:38:23 | could have you know kids outside on the |
00:38:22 | 00:38:26 | pool plane with it |
00:38:23 | 00:38:28 | i could have my dog on it um i could |
00:38:26 | 00:38:30 | take it out to like a very fancy pool |
00:38:28 | 00:38:33 | and do like a photo session there |
00:38:30 | 00:38:35 | i could take some pictures by a boat |
00:38:33 | 00:38:37 | to make it look you know special |
00:38:35 | 00:38:39 | luxurious i'm just coming up with some |
00:38:37 | 00:38:41 | things off the top of my head but |
00:38:39 | 00:38:42 | i definitely could do a lot more in |
00:38:41 | 00:38:46 | terms of the marketing |
00:38:42 | 00:38:49 | the photography the videography um |
00:38:46 | 00:38:51 | selling it on for example facebook um |
00:38:49 | 00:38:53 | facebook advertisements i could create a |
00:38:51 | 00:38:54 | video you know it's something that's |
00:38:53 | 00:38:57 | people might be scrolling and they'll |
00:38:54 | 00:38:58 | stop to look at that video because it |
00:38:57 | 00:39:00 | would be interesting |
00:38:58 | 00:39:02 | a toilet brush i'm going to be very |
00:39:00 | 00:39:04 | limited with how i can market it |
00:39:02 | 00:39:06 | it's not something that people want to |
00:39:04 | 00:39:08 | look at and |
00:39:06 | 00:39:10 | it's it's like you know you either need |
00:39:08 | 00:39:12 | one or you don't it doesn't matter how |
00:39:10 | 00:39:13 | great your toilet brush is you're not |
00:39:12 | 00:39:14 | going to sell me on buying your toilet |
00:39:13 | 00:39:17 | brush |
00:39:14 | 00:39:18 | unless i actually need one um as opposed |
00:39:17 | 00:39:21 | to like a floaty |
00:39:18 | 00:39:23 | you know i may not need a floaty but if |
00:39:21 | 00:39:25 | i see one that's really cool and your |
00:39:23 | 00:39:25 | marketing really convinces me that i |
00:39:25 | 00:39:28 | need it |
00:39:25 | 00:39:29 | then i may i may purchase it so you do |
00:39:28 | 00:39:31 | have to consider that |
00:39:29 | 00:39:33 | that's definitely something to take into |
00:39:31 | 00:39:35 | account um because there are going to be |
00:39:33 | 00:39:35 | some products that are just sexier than |
00:39:35 | 00:39:37 | others |
00:39:35 | 00:39:39 | and you can do more with them with your |
00:39:37 | 00:39:42 | marketing if you |
00:39:39 | 00:39:43 | have existing assets that can help you |
00:39:42 | 00:39:47 | market your |
00:39:43 | 00:39:50 | product for example i alluded to fitness |
00:39:47 | 00:39:52 | previously if you are a personal trainer |
00:39:50 | 00:39:54 | you're in the gym all the time you're |
00:39:52 | 00:39:56 | working out with people |
00:39:54 | 00:39:57 | and you decide to sell a resistance band |
00:39:56 | 00:39:59 | well guess what |
00:39:57 | 00:40:00 | you can do a lot more in terms of the |
00:39:59 | 00:40:03 | marketing |
00:40:00 | 00:40:05 | than someone else like myself because |
00:40:03 | 00:40:07 | you are working one-on-one with your |
00:40:05 | 00:40:09 | personal training clients |
00:40:07 | 00:40:11 | you could gift them a resistance band |
00:40:09 | 00:40:12 | and then you can take videos of them |
00:40:11 | 00:40:13 | using your product |
00:40:12 | 00:40:16 | and you can use those videos on your |
00:40:13 | 00:40:17 | instagram social media you can even turn |
00:40:16 | 00:40:19 | them into ads |
00:40:17 | 00:40:21 | which you could use on facebook you |
00:40:19 | 00:40:23 | could even insert videos now into your |
00:40:21 | 00:40:25 | amazon product listings |
00:40:23 | 00:40:27 | versus myself because i'm not a personal |
00:40:25 | 00:40:28 | trainer |
00:40:27 | 00:40:30 | you know i could still take videos and |
00:40:28 | 00:40:32 | use myself |
00:40:30 | 00:40:34 | using the product but you're going to |
00:40:32 | 00:40:37 | have way more possibilities than me |
00:40:34 | 00:40:38 | so to reiterate the five most important |
00:40:37 | 00:40:40 | elements of |
00:40:38 | 00:40:42 | you know helping you find a product |
00:40:40 | 00:40:43 | number one is |
00:40:42 | 00:40:45 | looking for a product that has high |
00:40:43 | 00:40:48 | demand low competition |
00:40:45 | 00:40:49 | so we are looking for products that |
00:40:48 | 00:40:51 | people want to buy on amazon but we |
00:40:49 | 00:40:53 | don't want to look for products that |
00:40:51 | 00:40:54 | have too much competition meaning too |
00:40:53 | 00:40:56 | many reviews |
00:40:54 | 00:40:57 | which just makes it so much hard for us |
00:40:56 | 00:40:59 | to compete with them |
00:40:57 | 00:41:01 | we're looking for products that have you |
00:40:59 | 00:41:02 | know about a thirty percent profit |
00:41:01 | 00:41:03 | margin or higher |
00:41:02 | 00:41:06 | you can get away with twenty five |
00:41:03 | 00:41:09 | percent but i would definitely aim for |
00:41:06 | 00:41:12 | 30. we are looking for products between |
00:41:09 | 00:41:15 | 15 to 70 dollars in price range |
00:41:12 | 00:41:16 | we are looking for products that can be |
00:41:15 | 00:41:19 | improved |
00:41:16 | 00:41:20 | products that we have there's room for |
00:41:19 | 00:41:22 | improvement |
00:41:20 | 00:41:24 | so that when we sell the same item on |
00:41:22 | 00:41:25 | amazon we can differentiate ourselves |
00:41:24 | 00:41:27 | and we can give the customer the best |
00:41:25 | 00:41:29 | experience possible |
00:41:27 | 00:41:32 | which means for us better reviews and |
00:41:29 | 00:41:33 | really being able to build a good brand |
00:41:32 | 00:41:35 | and finally we want to be looking for |
00:41:33 | 00:41:37 | private label potential |
00:41:35 | 00:41:38 | is this a product that i can private |
00:41:37 | 00:41:40 | label or is it not and |
00:41:38 | 00:41:43 | other products it's very simple to find |
00:41:40 | 00:41:43 | a manufacturer who already produces this |
00:41:43 | 00:41:45 | product |
00:41:43 | 00:41:47 | you simply slap your brand name on it |
00:41:45 | 00:41:49 | and you're good to go |
00:41:47 | 00:41:51 | other products you may have much harder |
00:41:49 | 00:41:52 | time finding manufacturers |
00:41:51 | 00:41:54 | some products they are patented which |
00:41:52 | 00:41:55 | you do have to be aware of so you have |
00:41:54 | 00:41:56 | to |
00:41:55 | 00:41:59 | kind of make sure do some patent |
00:41:56 | 00:41:59 | research so that wraps up video number |
00:41:59 | 00:42:01 | two |
00:41:59 | 00:42:03 | of my four part amazon fba video |
