How To LOSE Money Dropshipping With Google ADs

Published on: December 6 2022 by Shri Kanase

If you're considering starting a dropshipping business using Google Ads, it's important to know that there are many ways to lose money. In this article, we'll explore some common mistakes and pitfalls to avoid when using Google Ads for dropshipping.

Sub-Headings:

1. The Danger of Overbidding

2. Poorly Designed Landing Pages

3. Ignoring Negative Keywords

4. Ignoring Conversion Rates

5. Failing to Track ROI

The Danger of Overbidding:

- It's tempting to bid high on keywords to get your ads seen, but this can quickly eat into your budget.

- It's important to find a balance between bidding enough to get clicks and not overspending.

- Monitor your bids and adjust them as needed to avoid overbidding.

Poorly Designed Landing Pages:

- Your landing page is where customers will go after clicking on your ad.

- If your landing page is poorly designed, customers may leave without making a purchase.

- Ensure your landing page is user-friendly, loads quickly, and provides clear information about your product.

Ignoring Negative Keywords:

- Negative keywords are terms you don't want your ad to show up for.

- If you don't use negative keywords, your ad may show up for irrelevant searches and waste your budget.

- Monitor and update your negative keyword list regularly.

Ignoring Conversion Rates:

- Conversion rates measure how many people who click on your ad actually make a purchase.

- If your conversion rates are low, you may need to adjust your ad or landing page.

- Monitor your conversion rates and make changes as needed to improve them.

Failing to Track ROI:

- ROI (return on investment) measures how much money you're making compared to how much you're spending.

- If you're not tracking your ROI, you may be spending more money than you're making.

- Track your ROI regularly and adjust your ad strategy as needed to improve it.

By avoiding these common mistakes, you can increase your chances of success with dropshipping using Google Ads. Remember to monitor and adjust your ad strategy regularly to stay ahead of the competition and make the most of your budget.

How To LOSE Money Dropshipping With Google ADs

Hey everyone, it's Cherie Canasta and in this article, I'll be sharing my experiences of losing money with Google Ads while dropshipping. I'll be highlighting some common mistakes that beginners, intermediates, and even experts make while using Google Ads. I'll also be sharing some tips on how to prevent these mistakes and save your money.

How Google Ads Work:

- Google Ads is an algorithm-based platform that uses special computers and codes to identify keywords on your website and match them with customer searches.

- It's a time-based platform, meaning it takes time for the algorithm to start firing for your products.

- Google Ads is a product-based platform, and you should upload as many products as you can with Google to increase your chances of winning auctions and making sales.

Mistakes to Avoid:

1. Making changes too often or within a four-day period for budgets under $100.

- Wait for four to seven days before making any changes.

- Give Google Ads time to function properly, especially with a low budget.

2. Not having enough products on your store.

- Use the rapid fire method and upload as many products as you can to give Google Ads more options to choose from.

3. Having low profit margins.

- Aim for a minimum of $20 to $25 profit margins, but consider upping it to $30 or $40 in 2020 due to changing prices.

4. Having too many campaigns overlapping.

- Use a priority to designate which campaign each product is in.

- Don't have too many different campaigns running with one individual product.

5. Not knowing your numbers.

- Understand your profit margins and break-even ROAS (return on ad spend) to know how much you can spend on your campaign without going in a loss for that given product.

6. Not paying attention to the competitive metrics set.

- Look at the search impression share, click share, search lost is rank, etc. to troubleshoot and make changes based on what you're seeing.

7. Doing improper SEO techniques.

- Proper SEO techniques can increase sales and optimize your campaign, while improper SEO techniques can lead to the loss of money and a good dropshipping business.

By avoiding these common mistakes, you can prevent losing money with Google Ads while dropshipping. Remember to give Google Ads time to function properly, upload as many products as you can, aim for higher profit margins, use priorities, know your numbers, pay attention to competitive metrics, and use proper SEO techniques. Good luck and happy dropshipping!
