00:00:00 00:00:03 what's up everyone Carter here and in
00:00:02 00:00:05 this video I'll be going over two
00:00:03 00:00:08 different strategies tools and
00:00:05 00:00:10 software's I recommend you invest in so
00:00:08 00:00:13 you can quickly is scale at your Amazon
00:00:10 00:00:16 FBA book business to $5,000 per month
00:00:13 00:00:18 and beyond so I've been at Amazon FBA
00:00:16 00:00:20 seller for about two years now and
00:00:18 00:00:22 before I really went to private label
00:00:20 00:00:25 full-time I started out originally as
00:00:22 00:00:27 you know just a reseller on amazon
00:00:25 00:00:30 selling kind of random items that find
00:00:27 00:00:32 at garage sales thrift stores and as i
00:00:30 00:00:34 sold these random items there was one
00:00:32 00:00:36 specific item that really stood out and
00:00:34 00:00:39 every time I sold it my return on my
00:00:36 00:00:41 investment was insane and that item was
00:00:39 00:00:43 books now in this video I'll be showing
00:00:41 00:00:46 some of the strategies that I use to
00:00:43 00:00:48 find books for super super cheap fifty
00:00:46 00:00:49 cents to a dollar depending on the
00:00:48 00:00:51 quantity that you're buying and how I
00:00:49 00:00:53 was finding these super profitable books
00:00:51 00:00:56 I was able to buy for on average
00:00:53 00:00:58 probably a dollar or $2 and selling for
00:00:56 00:01:00 anywhere from fifteen dollars to two
00:00:58 00:01:02 hundred dollars depending on the rarity
00:01:00 00:01:03 of that book so in this video I'll
00:01:02 00:01:05 beginning through some different
00:01:03 00:01:07 strategies locations you can source and
00:01:05 00:01:09 what tools you can use to speed up the
00:01:07 00:01:11 process oh I'm gonna break this video
00:01:09 00:01:13 into four simple steps that you must
00:01:11 00:01:16 follow in order to scale your Amazon FBA
00:01:13 00:01:18 book business starting with step number
00:01:16 00:01:20 one and that's simply just understanding
00:01:18 00:01:22 how the FBA program works I mean it's
00:01:20 00:01:24 fairly simple basically you're going out
00:01:22 00:01:26 you're sourcing products for instance
00:01:24 00:01:29 this video will be sourcing books and
00:01:26 00:01:31 basically you'll go and you'll build up
00:01:29 00:01:32 a nice inventory size you know 20 25
00:01:31 00:01:34 books create a shipment have that
00:01:32 00:01:36 shipment sent to the Amazon warehouse
00:01:34 00:01:38 where your products will be stored for a
00:01:36 00:01:40 low monthly fee while they're at the
00:01:38 00:01:42 warehouse and while they're being stored
00:01:40 00:01:44 there then for live and for sale on
00:01:42 00:01:46 Amazon and each time you create a sale
00:01:44 00:01:48 for your product the Amazon Fulfillment
00:01:46 00:01:50 team will then pick pack and ship that
00:01:48 00:01:51 product to your customer two-day
00:01:50 00:01:54 shipping now you have a better
00:01:51 00:01:56 understanding of how exactly the Amazon
00:01:54 00:01:58 FBA platform works let's get into step
00:01:56 00:02:00 number two and find out where exactly
00:01:58 00:02:03 you can find extremely profitable books
00:02:00 00:02:06 to resell back on Amazon FBA and
00:02:03 00:02:07 purchase for a very low buy cost so as
00:02:06 00:02:08 you can see I have a few different
00:02:07 00:02:11 websites I'll be going through I'm
00:02:08 00:02:13 explaining how exactly you can find the
00:02:11 00:02:15 most profitable books start
00:02:13 00:02:17 with the Craigslist and offer up so
00:02:15 00:02:19 these are your local buy and sell
00:02:17 00:02:22 websites uh basically the same thing
00:02:19 00:02:23 offer up is a little bit newer and they
00:02:22 00:02:25 both have the same concept you're able
00:02:23 00:02:27 to go and see the items these people are
00:02:25 00:02:29 selling sometimes they're selling you
00:02:27 00:02:31 know individual textbooks sometimes
00:02:29 00:02:33 they're selling you know lots of books
00:02:31 00:02:35 selling them in focus so it leaves you
00:02:33 00:02:36 the opportunity to go through scroll
00:02:35 00:02:39 through and see if there's anything that
00:02:36 00:02:40 catches your eye in to see if there's
00:02:39 00:02:42 like an opportunity what you can do is
00:02:40 00:02:44 you can go back to Amazon you can search
00:02:42 00:02:46 up the title and see if that book is
00:02:44 00:02:47 profitable and then you can come through
00:02:46 00:02:50 and you can offer these different
00:02:47 00:02:52 sellers you know a price point so the
00:02:50 00:02:54 great thing I like about these you know
00:02:52 00:02:56 local buy and sell websites is that you
00:02:54 00:02:59 can offer your best price so you don't
00:02:56 00:03:01 have to purchase this product for $20 or
00:02:59 00:03:03 you know purchase this product for 15
00:03:01 00:03:05 you know all prices are negotiable so if
00:03:03 00:03:06 you have the good negotiating skills and
00:03:05 00:03:08 I mean it's not that difficult you know
00:03:06 00:03:10 find something in the middle that you're
00:03:08 00:03:11 still gonna be pretty profitable with
00:03:10 00:03:13 and something that they're probably will
00:03:11 00:03:14 accept you know in order to get these
00:03:13 00:03:18 books for extremely cheap so other than
00:03:14 00:03:20 your local buy and sell websites doors
00:03:18 00:03:22 are gonna be another great place to
00:03:20 00:03:24 source books from now therse stores are
00:03:22 00:03:28 gonna be a little bit more expensive so
00:03:24 00:03:30 usually garage sales book sales you can
00:03:28 00:03:32 usually tend to find things for books
00:03:30 00:03:33 for like a dollar or two dollars a piece
00:03:32 00:03:35 good bull they're a little bit more
00:03:33 00:03:37 expensive but they do have a very very
00:03:35 00:03:39 large selection and there's always going
00:03:37 00:03:41 to be a ton of profitable books coming
00:03:39 00:03:45 out each and every day as they restok
00:03:41 00:03:48 so you know goodwill you know savers
00:03:45 00:03:49 there's an just mom-and-pop dress shops
00:03:48 00:03:51 and other thirst shops as well or other
00:03:49 00:03:53 great places of source for books they
00:03:51 00:03:55 all usually have them sorted out
00:03:53 00:03:57 depending on the thrift store they have
00:03:55 00:04:00 them sorted out by you know the genre of
00:03:57 00:04:02 that book so it quickly allows you to go
00:04:00 00:04:03 through and you know go to the sections
00:04:02 00:04:05 where the money is going to because I'll
00:04:03 00:04:07 get into step 3
00:04:05 00:04:09 what books you'll be sourcing for but
00:04:07 00:04:11 there are certain books that if you try
00:04:09 00:04:12 to scan and you try to sell they're not
00:04:11 00:04:13 going to be profitable against that
00:04:12 00:04:16 later
00:04:13 00:04:19 so other than thrift stores garage sales
00:04:16 00:04:21 is another great place to source so it's
00:04:19 00:04:22 currently July 4th the day I'm recording
00:04:21 00:04:24 this so there probably aren't gonna be
00:04:22 00:04:26 too many sales coming up this weekend
00:04:24 00:04:27 but
00:04:26 00:04:30 you can just type in your zip code and
00:04:27 00:04:32 it'll have everyone in that area you
00:04:30 00:04:35 know that has a garage sale I'm
00:04:32 00:04:36 available they have them categorized by
00:04:35 00:04:39 color because the colors mean different
00:04:36 00:04:42 things you can see right here so you
00:04:39 00:04:43 know red is a moving sale Green is a
00:04:42 00:04:45 multi-family sale so that's gonna be
00:04:43 00:04:47 like multiple garage sales usually
00:04:45 00:04:49 within a single neighborhoods those are
00:04:47 00:04:52 great to look for um probably isn't the
00:04:49 00:04:53 best day to be going on this website and
00:04:52 00:04:56 actually looking for garage sales but
00:04:53 00:04:58 this is a great way to go and create a
00:04:56 00:05:00 game plan so instead of going out and
00:04:58 00:05:02 finding random garages which you can do
00:05:00 00:05:04 I recommend you find two or three or
00:05:02 00:05:06 four garage sales within this area that
00:05:04 00:05:08 are on the website that you say you're
00:05:06 00:05:10 gonna hit and on the way to those two
00:05:08 00:05:12 three or four garages you find some
00:05:10 00:05:13 other random ones on the way so by the
00:05:12 00:05:15 time you've gone through your whole
00:05:13 00:05:17 route you've hit probably seven or eight
00:05:15 00:05:18 different garage sales which leaves you
00:05:17 00:05:20 you know a big opportunity to find some
00:05:18 00:05:23 home run items at each sale that might
00:05:20 00:05:25 not be listed on this website so the
00:05:23 00:05:27 last place I'll be going over that you
00:05:25 00:05:29 can profitably source books from is
00:05:27 00:05:31 gonna be from books a finder calm now
00:05:29 00:05:33 this is one of my favorite places to
00:05:31 00:05:35 actually go in source books for a few
00:05:33 00:05:36 different reasons so you can categorize
00:05:35 00:05:38 it you know by your state and you can
00:05:36 00:05:40 see the different sales and dates that
00:05:38 00:05:42 those sales are available and they're
00:05:40 00:05:44 spaced out with months like going into
00:05:42 00:05:46 the futures you can see the different
00:05:44 00:05:49 locations so Seaforth that's near me
00:05:46 00:05:52 Grand Prairie that's near me so you can
00:05:49 00:05:56 see from the 21st of the 22nd of July
00:05:52 00:05:58 you know has the times 2000 books you
00:05:56 00:06:00 know 80% donated now that has some other
00:05:58 00:06:03 things like puzzles might be some you
00:06:00 00:06:04 know VHS tapes there as well because if
00:06:03 00:06:06 you can sell those brand-new those are
00:06:04 00:06:08 actually sometimes worth some really
00:06:06 00:06:11 good money surprisingly and you see
00:06:08 00:06:13 right here that's Sunday a $1 brown bag
00:06:11 00:06:15 sale so what basically that means is
00:06:13 00:06:17 usually on the last day of the sale um
00:06:15 00:06:19 they'll give you a bag or something that
00:06:17 00:06:20 you're able to fill up for certain price
00:06:19 00:06:23 points so obviously they're gonna give
00:06:20 00:06:25 you a bag and you can fit as many books
00:06:23 00:06:27 into that bag as you want for a dollar
00:06:25 00:06:29 so each bag you fill up it's going to be
00:06:27 00:06:31 a dollar so if you can fit four or five
00:06:29 00:06:33 six seven books into that bag for a
00:06:31 00:06:35 dollar you get them for extremely
00:06:33 00:06:38 extremely cheap but I highly recommend
00:06:35 00:06:39 you be there right when the cell opens
00:06:38 00:06:42 just in case there's some other
00:06:39 00:06:43 resellers there as well but I usually
00:06:42 00:06:45 get too scared about the competition
00:06:43 00:06:46 because there's a few different things
00:06:45 00:06:48 that they do that you know I toked
00:06:46 00:06:49 about on my YouTube channel and I toked
00:06:48 00:06:51 about in my new course that I'm about to
00:06:49 00:06:53 launch you know about how you can resell
00:06:51 00:06:55 books back on Amazon but they usually
00:06:53 00:06:57 leave out a couple of sections like you
00:06:55 00:06:59 know the children's book section is
00:06:57 00:07:01 always overlooked the scanners never go
00:06:59 00:07:04 there and there's tons of really good
00:07:01 00:07:06 gyms you know in those no children book
00:07:04 00:07:08 section I mean books I'm buying for a
00:07:06 00:07:10 dollar selling for fifty you know sales
00:07:08 00:07:11 ranks under five hundred thousand
00:07:10 00:07:13 they're selling for fifty dollars and
00:07:11 00:07:15 above I mean just some crazy crazy stuff
00:07:13 00:07:17 so book sales are another great place to
00:07:15 00:07:19 source now you understand how the FBA
00:07:17 00:07:21 program works where exactly you can find
00:07:19 00:07:23 profitable looks from now I'm going to
00:07:21 00:07:25 show you how exactly you should be
00:07:23 00:07:26 analyzing books when you're sourcing so
00:07:25 00:07:30 the first thing you need to understand
00:07:26 00:07:32 is a sales ring so each individual item
00:07:30 00:07:34 on Amazon not just books has its own
00:07:32 00:07:37 individual sales rank and that sales
00:07:34 00:07:39 rank is there to help you understand how
00:07:37 00:07:41 well and how often that product is
00:07:39 00:07:43 selling on Amazon so the lower the sales
00:07:41 00:07:46 rank the more often that product is
00:07:43 00:07:49 selling so when it comes to books a
00:07:46 00:07:51 146,000 sales rank in books is actually
00:07:49 00:07:52 pretty good that means it's selling you
00:07:51 00:07:55 know multiple times throughout the week
00:07:52 00:07:56 now it really depends on you know the
00:07:55 00:07:59 condition of the book that you're
00:07:56 00:08:00 getting in you know the price you bought
00:07:59 00:08:03 it for the price you're expecting this
00:08:00 00:08:06 to sell it for but when it comes to
00:08:03 00:08:08 sales rank it really depends on what
00:08:06 00:08:10 your strategy is if you want you know
00:08:08 00:08:11 some longtail books that are gonna make
00:08:10 00:08:13 you some really good profits and you're
00:08:11 00:08:15 willing to have them in your store for a
00:08:13 00:08:18 while you might purchase a book with a
00:08:15 00:08:19 two or three million sales rank but I
00:08:18 00:08:20 mean if you're looking for a book you
00:08:19 00:08:23 want to sell within the first you know
00:08:20 00:08:24 two or three or four months you might
00:08:23 00:08:26 want to stik under an eight hundred
00:08:24 00:08:28 thousand or 1 million sales rank it's
00:08:26 00:08:31 really all up to you but I just wanted
00:08:28 00:08:33 to give you a quick little just kind of
00:08:31 00:08:35 run through of what exactly these sales
00:08:33 00:08:37 ranks are cuz when you're on your phone
00:08:35 00:08:39 you know you're scanning books the first
00:08:37 00:08:41 thing I always look at is this sales
00:08:39 00:08:43 rank if the sales rank is over 4 million
00:08:41 00:08:45 I always pass it up unless the price
00:08:43 00:08:47 point is just extremely high extremely
00:08:45 00:08:49 profitable and I'd be willing to sit on
00:08:47 00:08:50 that book for six to eight months
00:08:49 00:08:52 pick up those storage fees which is
00:08:50 00:08:53 pretty cheap when it comes to books cuz
00:08:52 00:08:55 books are
00:08:53 00:08:56 um somewhat compact a little bit heavy
00:08:55 00:08:58 but I mean they're gonna be anywhere
00:08:56 00:09:00 from five cents to ten cents a month
00:08:58 00:09:02 depending on the size or weight to store
00:09:00 00:09:04 per month in the Amazon warehouse so I
00:09:02 00:09:06 might have hinted a little bit in step
00:09:04 00:09:08 two of what exactly be toking about now
00:09:06 00:09:11 with that's genre so when it comes to
00:09:08 00:09:13 selling books on Amazon you really have
00:09:11 00:09:16 to focus on the category of the books
00:09:13 00:09:18 you're sourcing for instance fiction and
00:09:16 00:09:20 nonfiction if you were to select a
00:09:18 00:09:22 section I would highly recommend you
00:09:20 00:09:23 select the nonfiction books those books
00:09:22 00:09:25 are the books that are the most
00:09:23 00:09:26 profitable sure there's probably some
00:09:25 00:09:29 fiction books out there that are
00:09:26 00:09:31 somewhat rare or profitable if you just
00:09:29 00:09:32 stik in the nonfiction section you're
00:09:31 00:09:34 gonna be a lot more profitable and
00:09:32 00:09:36 there's gonna be a ton of more
00:09:34 00:09:39 profitable books now when it comes to
00:09:36 00:09:42 categories you know it could be you know
00:09:39 00:09:45 self-help you know business tiknology
00:09:42 00:09:47 you know foreign language books you know
00:09:45 00:09:49 sports books all those books are
00:09:47 00:09:50 extremely profitable and children's
00:09:49 00:09:52 books are also profitable as well so
00:09:50 00:09:54 make sure you check those out the next
00:09:52 00:09:55 thing that comes into play when sourcing
00:09:54 00:09:58 books is going to be the actual
00:09:55 00:10:01 condition of the book so when selling on
00:09:58 00:10:03 Amazon there are five at different
00:10:01 00:10:06 conditions you can select from there is
00:10:03 00:10:09 use acceptable use good used very good
00:10:06 00:10:11 use like new and new so five different
00:10:09 00:10:13 conditions that you can sell at your
00:10:11 00:10:14 book under now depending on the
00:10:13 00:10:16 condition of the book that's also gonna
00:10:14 00:10:18 play into how you're gonna price it
00:10:16 00:10:20 because you're gonna be looking at you
00:10:18 00:10:22 know the competition and if someone has
00:10:20 00:10:24 a used book in good condition priced at
00:10:22 00:10:26 $12 and there's a new book priced at you
00:10:24 00:10:28 know 25 and you have a very good
00:10:26 00:10:30 condition you have to then make a choice
00:10:28 00:10:32 are you wanting to price use a little
00:10:30 00:10:33 bit higher towards that new price book
00:10:32 00:10:35 or a little bit somewhere in the middle
00:10:33 00:10:37 it's really all up to you but when it
00:10:35 00:10:38 comes to condition that's really gonna
00:10:37 00:10:41 play key because you're not gonna be
00:10:38 00:10:44 able to sell an acceptable or a good
00:10:41 00:10:45 book towards in the price of a new book
00:10:44 00:10:47 or a like new book because people are
00:10:45 00:10:48 gonna be expecting you know a higher
00:10:47 00:10:51 price point is gonna be better
00:10:48 00:10:53 competition and if you lie about your
00:10:51 00:10:56 competition I mean I mean you lie about
00:10:53 00:10:57 the condition of the book and then
00:10:56 00:10:59 someone gets that book and they ordered
00:10:57 00:11:01 a like new book but it's got no tears
00:10:59 00:11:04 and rips or stains on it
00:11:01 00:11:06 you're gonna get a negative feedback you
00:11:04 00:11:06 know on your Amazon seller profile which
00:11:06 00:11:08 is going to hurt your
00:11:06 00:11:09 and tricks and hurt your chances of
00:11:08 00:11:11 winning to buy a box which is gonna
00:11:09 00:11:13 affect your sales so just be honest when
00:11:11 00:11:15 it comes to you know giving the cup the
00:11:13 00:11:18 condition of the book so step number
00:11:15 00:11:21 four is how can you speed up the process
00:11:18 00:11:22 when running an Amazon book business so
00:11:21 00:11:24 when you're first starting out you're
00:11:22 00:11:26 probably gonna be scanning from an app
00:11:24 00:11:29 on your phone um I highly recommend you
00:11:26 00:11:30 check out FBA scan it's a great app you
00:11:29 00:11:33 can get it for free you get a hundred
00:11:30 00:11:35 free scans to try it out and then you
00:11:33 00:11:36 can I think the Lite subscription is ten
00:11:35 00:11:38 dollars per month but I mean it's
00:11:36 00:11:40 amazing you can quickly scan just a
00:11:38 00:11:42 barcode or the cover of the book I'm
00:11:40 00:11:44 gonna pull down like a whole list like
00:11:42 00:11:46 this if you know the FBA price is the
00:11:44 00:11:48 merchant fulfilled prices the new price
00:11:46 00:11:50 is the sales rank a picture of the item
00:11:48 00:11:51 so you can quickly analyze the product
00:11:50 00:11:53 you know on your phone or whatever
00:11:51 00:11:55 you're researching with to see if that
00:11:53 00:11:58 book is gonna be a profitable so now a
00:11:55 00:12:01 way to just be even more efficient in
00:11:58 00:12:03 scan you know five ten times faster than
00:12:01 00:12:05 using a phone is to invest in a
00:12:03 00:12:07 Bluetooth scanner as you can see here so
00:12:05 00:12:10 when I used to sell books on Amazon what
00:12:07 00:12:12 I would do is I'd have my phone and I
00:12:10 00:12:14 had a case and I had a clip that I was
00:12:12 00:12:16 able to clip this Bluetooth scanner on
00:12:14 00:12:17 what would happen is I would be able to
00:12:16 00:12:19 just pick books up in one hand with my
00:12:17 00:12:21 phone in the other hand and scan the
00:12:19 00:12:23 barcode of that book and it would
00:12:21 00:12:25 quickly you know pull up the data or
00:12:23 00:12:27 whatever the search term was you know
00:12:25 00:12:28 for that book on my phone I was quickly
00:12:27 00:12:30 able to look and analyze and see if that
00:12:28 00:12:32 product would be profitable and you know
00:12:30 00:12:34 some Bluetooth scanners I say you could
00:12:32 00:12:37 get him anywhere from you know probably
00:12:34 00:12:40 fifty to a hundred don't as you can see
00:12:37 00:12:42 on here the one I had was specifically
00:12:40 00:12:44 for you know book sourcing I had a clip
00:12:42 00:12:47 I was able to clip it it cost me about
00:12:44 00:12:49 $175 but I mean you can get one on here
00:12:47 00:12:51 you know one of these wireless barcode
00:12:49 00:12:52 scanners anywhere from fifty dollars but
00:12:51 00:12:53 this is probably like the next
00:12:52 00:12:55 investment you know after you've been
00:12:53 00:12:57 going for a month or two and when you're
00:12:55 00:12:59 ready to scale this is how you're gonna
00:12:57 00:13:00 be able to scale your business by you
00:12:59 00:13:02 just going spending a little bit more
00:13:00 00:13:04 money you know fifty seventy-five
00:13:02 00:13:06 dollars on a scanner maybe ten dollars
00:13:04 00:13:08 on a phone case to clip it on its gonna
00:13:06 00:13:11 be a lot more efficient you're gonna be
00:13:08 00:13:13 able to scan books a lot faster then you
00:13:11 00:13:15 would be just using your phone when it
00:13:13 00:13:17 comes to creating your own Amazon FBA
00:13:15 00:13:19 business selling books the only way
00:13:17 00:13:20 you're gonna be able to get to you know
00:13:19 00:13:21 three thousand five
00:13:20 00:13:23 thousand ten thousand dollars per month
00:13:21 00:13:25 selling books is they're gonna have to
00:13:23 00:13:27 find ways to scale you're gonna have to
00:13:25 00:13:29 stay consistent you have to be
00:13:27 00:13:31 consistently going to different
00:13:29 00:13:33 locations and sourcing books if it be
00:13:31 00:13:36 garage sales or thrift stores or book
00:13:33 00:13:37 sales buying in bulk things like that
00:13:36 00:13:40 just finding ways to scale you know
00:13:37 00:13:42 consistently sourcing consistently you
00:13:40 00:13:43 know doing research consistently sending
00:13:42 00:13:45 shipments to Amazon you know
00:13:43 00:13:47 replenishing your inventory that's gonna
00:13:45 00:13:49 be the best way to scale and I mean
00:13:47 00:13:52 using an app using a software using a
00:13:49 00:13:54 tool like this is gonna be the best way
00:13:52 00:13:57 to quickly scale at your Amazon FBA book
