How To Create Collections on Shopify

hey guys, Jason here with Quantum courses, and in this tutorial we'll be going over how to create collections on Shopify to organize the products in your online store. collections allow you to group your products into separate categories that can be displayed as galleries in your Shopify store. this allows for Shoppers to easily navigate your products and find exactly what they're looking for. when customers visit one of your collections, they can browse through the products that you've added and simply click the product image to be taken to the listing page to make a purchase. in this video, I'll be demonstrating how to create new product collections on Shopify and how to select and add products to your collections. we will also go over how to display your collections on your Shopify homepage and how to add a link to your collections to your main menu. so let's get started by heading over to Shopify. if you haven't joined Shopify yet, make sure you click my link in the video description to get your free trial. Shopify is probably one of the most essential Investments you could make if you're planning to build and grow an e-commerce business. so once you get to Shopify, go ahead and log in. when you log into Shopify, you should be taken to your account dashboard where you can manage your account. so, before we create our first collection, let's take a look at my online store. to do this, let's look at the menu on the left hand side here, go beside the online store Tab and click the little eyeball icon. so here's the demo Shopify store that I'm building for my Quantum designs brand. in my main menu, I've already added a tab for my collections, so once I add new collections, customers will be able to click this link and view all my collections on a single page. also, I've already added a few things to my home page, but I also want to add a section for my collections, so let's head back over to the Shopify dashboard and go over how to create and add products to our first collection. to create our first collection, let's look at the menu on the left hand side here and click on the products tab. this will take you to a page where you can view and manage all of the products that you've added to Shopify. underneath the products tab, you should now also see the collections tab up here. let's go ahead and click that now. as you can see, I currently don't have any collections, so let's click the create collection button here to create our first collection. this is where you can add your collection details, select your collection type and select which products you want to add to your collection. first, let's add our collection title. this should be something that clearly describes the category of the items in your collection. my example collection will include various clothing items and hats, so I think I'll name my collection of peril and hacks. next, you can write a description for your collection. here's where you can get a bit more creative and go into more detail about your products. for your description, you can also format your text using the text toolbar up top here. this allows you to do various things, such as change your text style, the color, your text alignment and even add links and media. but I'm just going to keep things simple and roll with this short yet sweet description. underneath your description, you can select your collection type. this describes how products are added to your collection, and the two options you have are manual and automated. the automated option will add products to your collection based on certain conditions that you select. for instance, if I set my conditions to match all products that are tagged with the keyword t-shirts, then whenever I upload a new product with that tag, it'll automatikally be added to my collection. for automated collections, you can add up to 60 different conditions, but personally I prefer to use the manual collection type here's. or you can simply view your products and click to select which ones you want to add to your collection. we'll be able to select our products once we finish up here and click save. if we look at the top right of the page here, you should see your collection availability section. here's where you can view all the sales channels connected to your Shopify account and select which ones you want to add your collection to. for my collection, I'm only going to make it available in my online store. next, you have your Collection image section. this is where you can upload your collection cover image. if you click the add image button here, you'll be able to browse your device and upload any image you wish to use for your collection cover. I recommend using an image that clearly defines your collection and nothing that's misleading. if you ever wanted to change or remove your image, you can use the edit button here. next, we have our theme template, but I already have a template selected for my online store, so my collection should match the theme that I already have selected. and the final thing we want to edit for our collection is our search engine listing. if we click the edit button at the top right here, we can edit our page title, our meta description and our URL handle. here's where you can optimize your collection for search engines by adding relevant text and good keywords, and if you really want to improve your SEO, I recommend doing a little keyword research before filling these out. once you finish updating your search engine listing, go ahead and look down at the bottom right and click on the save button, and your new collection should now be created under collection availability. I should now only see my online store. so, since we selected a manual collection type, we should now be able to add our products. if we scroll down to the section underneath our description, we should now see the products section. here's where we can manually add products to our new collection. if we click the browse button, a new window should pop up showing us all the products that we have uploaded to Shopify. for my Shopify store, I've added tons of print on demand products that I've made using printful. if you need an easy way to add products to your Shopify store, you should definitely check out printful. printful is an awesome print on demand service that I've used for years to create custom print on demand products to add to my online stores. simply select a product, add your product design, use a few clicks to add it to Shopify and you'll get paid each time you make a sale. when a customer places an order, printful will take care of the production, the printing, the shipping and even the customer service. printful is free to use, so make sure you click my link in the video description to give it a try and fill your Shopify store up with amazing products. so let's select the products for my collection. to add a new product, simply click the check box beside the one you want to add. since this is my apparel and hacks collection, I'm going to select all of my hats and my clothing and each time I upload a new apparel item, I'm going to come back here and manually add it to my collection. once you've selected all the products for your collection, go ahead and click on ADD at the bottom right. you should now see all of the items that you selected up here in the products section. beside each product you should see a button that says active and if you click the button, it'll show the sales channels that the products are active in. also, you can remove any item at any time by clicking the X beside the product you want to remove. so now that we're finished creating our first collection, let's click the back button and go back to the collections main menu. you should now see your new collection added to your collections menu and the number of products available in your collection. if you set up product conditions, you will be able to see those here as well. whenever you want to add a new collection to your store, you can come back here and go up to the create collection button at the top right. so let's head back over to my onli.

How to create a manual collection || Shopify Help Center

A manual collection organizes your products into groups while also giving you complete control over what products are included in it. Manual collections are especially useful if you have a small variety of products or if your product line doesn’t change that often. Keep watching to learn everything you need to know about creating manual collections. To create a manual collection, start from your Shopify admin and click “Products”, Then click “Collections” and then “Create collection”. Start by giving the new collection a title. Adding a description is optional and is only visible if your theme has an option to show it. But you might want to create a description anyways, using keywords for SEO purposes. Now select “Manual” as the collection type. Next, if you click “Edit website SEO”, you can make changes to the collection’s search engine listing. By default, search engines use the information from the collection’s title and description, But I’m not going to make any changes to this section today. Then decide where you want this collection to be visible by using the “Collection Availability” card. Deselect the checkboxes for the channels you want to exclude. If you want to link the collection in your navigation menu, then you need to keep “Online store” selected. If you want to schedule this collection to be published at a future date, then click ”Schedule Availability” and select another date. Keep in mind that you can only add a collection to your navigation menu after it’s been published. If you’d like, you can add an image to represent this collection, But just remember that adding an image is optional and will only be visible if your theme has anoption to show it. If you choose to add an image, be sure to also add ALT text for the image by clicking “Edit”, then “Edit image alt text”. Alt text serves a couple different purposes. If a media item can't load for any reason, then alt text is shown instead. It's also used by assistive tiknology to describe an image to a customer who's visually impaired. Alt text can also boost your SEO, making it easier for customers to find your products. Keep your alt text brief and descriptive. The maximum length is 512 characters, but 125 or less is recommended. Here I’ll write “Woman in child's pose wearing black yoga pants and a grey tank top on a pink yoga mat”. Now you’re ready to click “Save”. The page is updated to show a “Products” section To add products to the collection. click “Browse” to see your inventory. Scroll through to select items by clicking the checkboxes beside them. You can also type a product title in the search bar to add an item. Then click “Add” to finish. To arrange the products, choose an option from the “Sort” dropdown menu. If you choose to manually sort, then drag and drop the products in the order you want them to appear. To finish, you need to link the new collection in the store’s navigation bar so customers can find it - this is not done automatikally. Click “Update your menu” or click “Online Store”, then “Navigation”, Click “Main Menu” and then click “Add menu item”. Enter a name to match the collection, Then in the “Link” field select “Collections” and then find the collection you just created. Click “Add”. Click the six-dot icon beside the new menu item and drag it where you’d like it to appear. If you want to create a dropdown menu, drag and drop it under another menu item to nest it. When you’re done, click “Save” To preview everything. click the eye icon next to “Online store” to open a new browser tab. Here you can see how the new collection looks in the dropdown menu we created. You can also open the collection to confirm everything is in working order. Now you know how to create manual collections. If you have any questions, visit helpshopifycom for more information.

How to Create Collections in Shopify 2023 (STEP-BY-STEP)

now one thing I definitely want to add to my home page. here are the different collections for what I'm selling on the store. so right now I'm selling apparel. so this would be: we have one collection for t-shirts, for hoodies, for hats and so on. so what I would have to do is look for that specific section on the right side. we have already a collection list. now, let's say, that wouldn't be here. all we had to do was click on ADD section here and then type in collection and then we would add a collection list here. we just drag this here to the top below the slideshow, and then we have to to add some collections. now we don't already have any collections set up on our store. so this is what we're going to do now. so to set up our collections, we're going to first save our changes here at the top- always make sure you save so you don't have to redo stuff- and then we're gonna go back here, click on exit and that will take us back to the Shopify dashboard. and then we're going to go to products here on the left side and now click on collections, because right now we only have a couple of products on our store but they are not really sorted into collections. so here are the collections. you already have a default collection, which is the home page. I'm going to actually delete this one, just select it. more actions: delete collection- confirm and then I'm going to add some more. so I'm going to click on create collection here. then we have to give the collection a title. so let's start with t-shirts- t-shirts. then you can also give it a description- not really necessary right now- and then we have the collection type. I'm deciding to add each product manually, so I'm going to choose manual here, and then we also have to add a cover image. now you can also create a mock-up for your T-shirt collection- just some people wearing your t-shirt designs- which will then be displayed on the feature collections on your home page. and what I've done is I've simply screenshotted one of my products here that I've added and I've created this folder for it. so I'm going to choose this image right here, which will then be displayed for this specific collection. then I'm going to click on Save and I'm going to do the same thing for the other two collections, which are hats and hoodies. so now I've created three collections for every type of product on the store. the next thing I need to do is tell Shopify what product belongs to what of these collections. so we're going to go back to products here and then we're going to select all the hats and then tell Shopify that these belong into the hat collection. so just to make this a bit quicker, I'm just going to type in head here in the search bar, then I'm going to just select all the hats that I have, then I go to more actions- add to collections here, and then I choose the hats collection, click on Save, I'm going to. I'm going to do the same thing for the hoodies and also for the t-shirts. great, so now Shopify knows what product is in what collection. so we can now go back to online store and then go back to the editor by clicking on customize here, and that will take us back to our editor. now, when we go to our collection list here that we have just added before, we can now tell Shopify what collection list we want to put on our home page. let's go to the first one here, collection number one. click on select collection here. then let's choose t-shirts first, select, then for the second one we're gonna choose hoodies, select, and then for the third one, we're gonna choose the hats save.

Shopify OS 2.0 - How To Create a Page of Collections

what's up guys? i'm paul, and welcome to the ecommerce gold youtube channel. so shopify recently released their os 2.0, which includes a new selection of themes and theme customization options. and with this new theme customizer comes a new way of creating pages for collections, and it is so much better and so much easier to do than the old way of doing it. so in this video i'm going to go through and show you exactly how to do it so you can go and set this up on your new store if you're using a shopify os 2.0 theme. so let's get started. so, as i said, in the new os 2.0 it's so much easier to create a page of collections and we're going to show you a few different options you can do. the first one is if you want to create a page listing all of your collections. this is super easy to do. all you do is go into navigation, click on your main navigation menu and what we're going to do is going to add a new item to the menu. click under the link options, click on collections, all collections. you can change them title if you want to, but i'm just going to stik with all collections. click on add, click save menu and then, if we go to the front end of our store, refresh this, you'll see all collections comes up in the main menu. click on that and it shows you all of your collections. super simple if you want to do all of your collections. but what if you just want to show a few collections? well, there's a new way of doing it and it is absolutely brilliant. i'm really liking it. so if you go back into our online store, click on customize, it'll bring up the new theme customizer and what we're going to do is we're going to click on the drop down menu at the top, we're going to click on pages and we're going to create a new template now for this. i'm going to call this watches, because, well, everything's dual related on this channel, and we're going to base this on the default page. so we're going to create that template and you'll see we have a new template we can work from and with the new os 2.0, you can add sections to individual pages, and this is where it just becomes so much easier. so what we're going to do is going to click add section and we're going to choose the collection list and you'll see you can manually choose the collections you want. so for this. i'm going to go through and select all my watch collections. so we're going to select collection. i'm going to go for automatik watches. for that one, click on select, go back. number two: i'm going to choose digital watches. for that one select. and finally, we're going to choose our quartz watches and click on select, go back. there you go. we've done that. if you want to remove the header, what you can do is just click on that and delete that and it will hide that header for you. if you want to remove the men's header at the top, just click on the hide option there and that will remove that one for you. depends if you want the header on the page or not. but once you're happy with the collections you've selected, click on save and it's created a template for this page. then, if we go back into our shopify dashboard, go into pages, we're going to create a new page. so click on add page and we're just going to call this watches. and then, when you're choosing a template for this page, you'll see we've got the theme template. if you click on the drop down menu, you'll see watches is available. so if you click on that, click save. we've now created that page for watches. we just need to add it to our navigation menu. so if you go into main menu, add an item under the link options, we're going to search under pages and you'll see that watches has now become available. click on that, add and then save this menu. if we go back into the front end of our site, refresh it. you'll see that watches has come available and if we click on that, we can see all of our collections that are available on the watches. so if you click on automatik watches, you can see the products that are available in there. really easy to do this, much easier than it used to be, with having to copy and paste the code over. so much easier to do. and you can also duplicate this template as well, so you can use it for different collections, and i'll show you how to do that. so if you go into our online store again, click on customize. what we're going to do is click on the drop down menu. go into pages. we're going to create a template, but we're going to base this one on the watches page that we just created and i'm going to do this one for signet rings. as you can see, everything's dual related when i do these demos because i've been in the dual trade for many, many years. so you're going to create a template for this one and, as you can see, it's based off the old template. so what we're going to do is going to go in and we're going to change these collections. i'm going to change them to the ring ones. so we're going to go for gold signet rings- select that one, change this one to stone set signet rings and the final one is going to be silver signet rings- select. save that one. then we're going to go back into our dashboard and basically going to repeat the process. um, what we're going to do is going to create a new page. we're going to call this one signet rings and we're going to choose the default template and, as you can see, signet rings has now become available. click on that option and click on save, and then all you've got to do is add that to the navigation menu. now what you may need to do when you come into this is you may need to refresh it, because it takes a little bit of time for that page to actually become available when you're choosing the item in your menu. i'll see if it happens now. so, if you're going to main menu, click on add menu item pages, signet rings has become available, but sometimes it's there's a little bit of a delay. if you try and do it too quickly it might not appear, so you might have to refresh things. but if we just click on signet rings, click add and then save that menu, go back into the front end of our site, refresh it and if we click on signet rings, you can see all the signet ring collections become available and say: it's so much easier to do this now with the new templates. they are just so much easier to use. but what if you actually want to add a page in front of these? well, this is where you need to do a little bit of a workaround because, as we know, with shopify, it doesn't allow you to create sub collections. you kind of have to do workarounds. unfortunately, with the new ios 2.0, there is a workaround to be able to do this. so what i want to do is i want to create a page where i'm going to be able to link to the watches page and the signet rings page. i'm going to show you exactly how to do that. so if we go back into the main menu, go into the online store and click on customize. what we're going to do is we're going to create a new template and to do that we're going to click on the menu again and we're going to create a new template for the pages. for this one. i want to do this off the default page because we're going to be using a different block, so we're going to call this accessories. i really hope i've spelt that one. right click on create template and it'll bring up a new template. and what we're going to do with this one. the section we're actually going to use- is the multi-column section. so if we click on multi-column, you can see it adds multiple columns. it's pretty self-explanatory, to be honest, but it is a really good option to create a page to link to the collection pages, if that makes sense. now you'll notike that it brings up a button. if you want to get rid of this, click on multi column and where it says button label, just select that and delete it and it will remove that option. basically, with anything in the new os 2.0, if you don't want it to display, just leave the option blank and it just won't display on the front end of your site. so what we're going to do is we're going to go in and we're going to edit these columns. what we're going to do is going to select an image. i'm going to put signet rings first. click on th.

How to Create & Set Up Collections on Your Shopify Store

are you planning to start up online store with Shopify that stoks multiple types and styles of products? then you want to create and set up your store with collections. in this video, I'll not only show you how to manually create these collections, but I also demonstrate how you can automate these products into certain collections, creating a more streamline systems that will save you time and energy. hi, i'm lisa. here. i share tips, tricks and information to help you build your online store, giving you the confidence of taking your dream of owning your own online business and making it a reality. so, as a brief overview, essentially, collections are groups of products that make it easier for your customers to find the products they are searching for within your online store. collections are also great for introducing related products to customers or highlighting products within a certain category, for example, your bestsellers or your sell items. in this video, i will not only show you how to set up your collections, but i'll also go through the systems i use to ensure that any future products that you add to your store automatikally get categorized for you. sounds good, then let's get into it. so first, i'll show you how to create a collection manually. once logged into Shopify, you'll want to head over to the menu on the left here and click products and then collections, click create collection. okay, so where it says collection type, here for this part of the demonstration we want to select manual, just as a reference. a collection type is how the products will be added to your collections. I'll go through automatik shortly. so let's scroll to the top. for this tour I'm going to create three different collections. this is a yoga apparel and accessory store, so I want to create a tops collection, a bottoms collection and an accessories collection. so let's add our first collection by adding a title. let's call this one tops for the description. you also want to add a collection image so that when the collection shows up on your home page, an image will appear with the collection title. so once this has been uploaded, you'll want to review all the details and then click Save. once you have saved, you will then be able to start adding products to your collection. so just scroll down to products here, where it's got search products, you just want to click browse. then just add the products that align with your collection. for example, I'll select the yoga crop, the yoga long-sleeve and the yoga tea, as these are all the yogurt tops, then click Add and there we have it. we've got our yoga crop, yoga long sleeve and yoga tea. that's been added to our collection. once you're happy with all the products we've added, let's just scroll to the top and click this eye button here to view the collection. so there we have our collection image here, our title and then all the products within that collection. now you just want to go ahead and create all the collections you need for your store. so we'll add a bottoms collection and also an accessories collection. I'll go ahead and do that for you now and I'll see you once that's all done. now that we have created our collections, we'll want to add these to our store so that they can be easily accessed by our customers. so under sales channels, an online store and under themes, we'll click the customize button here. so what we want to do now is we want to add a new section which will Auto populate our newly created collections. so to the left here we want to go to add section and under the collections tab we want to click collections list and then add. so you'll notike under the content section. we've got three different tabs here for our three different collections. let's click on this top area here under collection, select collection, and now we can add our newly created collections by clicking any one of these three here. so we'll start with tops and you'll see that it's already come up here. so we've got the title, the image and then our heading here, collection- just click select and now we just want to do this for the other two. so there we have it. our three collections are auto-populated and included on our online store. click the Save button and let's go back, let's check out our online store by just clicking this little eye icon and if we scroll to the bottom, we should find those collections that we've just created. there we have it. so our collection list. we've got our tops, our bottoms and our accessories and if we click into tops here, we'll be redirected to that collection. ok, so let's close that off. now I'll show you how you can set up an automatik system for any future products you might add to your store. this way, your products will be automatikally added to your designated collection. so to do this, you want to click back to products collections. again, we want to go to create collection and this time, instead of selecting manual under collection type, we want to click automated. now. there is a couple of ways you can set this up, but for now what I'll do is create a collection based on the best sellers in our store. you can have products automatikally updated based on different word matchups. for example, if a product has a tag sale attached to it, then the product will automatikally be added to the sales collection. there are many different combinations you can use here, but for this example we'll use the product tags. so here we've got product tag and, like I mentioned, you can choose different themes here, but we'll click product tag is equal to and then, if we click in here, we've got the tagged bestsellers. we've also got a summer in winter, but for this one we'll do bestseller. you can also add another condition here if you like, but for now we'll just leave it as is. so let's just scroll to the top and for the title we want to call it bestseller and then we want to give it a description. then click Save. okay, so that's our bestsellers collection created. now. the way that you can automate this is by setting up your products with tags. so let's show you how this works. let's go to products and let's check out one of our products here. so we'll click on the yoga hat product and to the right here, if you scroll down, you'll see that there's a section to add your tags. so, because I want to add this to our bestsellers collection, I want to give it a bestsellers tag. so here, bestseller, ok, and then click Save. so let's add this collection to our homepage by again clicking on the online store button here under sales channel themes and then customize. now this theme is actually auto populated with a featured collection button, so let's click on that so we can edit it. so, as we can see, Shopify has Auto populated a product into our featured collection. but we want to change this. we want to change our heading to say bestsellers and we want to change the product. so here under heading, let's change that to best sellers and under collection, instead of it being the homepage products. we want to change this. so we'll go change and we want to click bestsellers and there we have it. so it's been Auto populated with all the products that have a tagged bestsellers. click select, click Save. ok, now let's go back and check this all out. so I click here, click the Shopify icon where it says online store, just click the I icon and if we scroll down, we should see our new best sellers section. here we go, so we've got our yoga hot, yoga bands and now yoga mat, all with the bestseller tag. again, if we scroll down, here's our featured collection list. so there you have it. these are the two different ways you can set up collections for your online store with Shopify, so that everything on your store is easily accessible by your customers. being able to create collections is one of the many features I love about using Shopify for your online store. if you're thinking about opening your own online store using Shopify and are looking for an easy to follow beginner tutorial, How to Create sub collections in Shopify

what's up everyone? edwin anthony here with another tutorial for shopify. if you're new to this channel, you already know what to do. if you like that shopify stuff, just go ahead and uh, subscribe, turn on that notification bell. you notike that on the weekly basis in my channel. i've been throwing kind of like some of that, uh, business stuff, so i'm trying to see how you guys do with that. but i know that you guys really like the tutorials and that's why i'm squeezing this tutorial in. anyways, let's get right to it. uh, what are we gonna tok about today? uh, today's topic: we're gonna solve everything related to collections and multi-tier level collections. what i mean by that? sometimes you might have a menu system at the top where it has a drop down, and on that drop down on some websites that have a medium size to a large size inventory, right, what's going to happen is that you'll need a second layer or a second tier collection, and then, right underneath that, you need a third tier collection, right? and let me give you guys an idea as to more or less what that looks like in the real world, so that we know what we're toking about here, and then we're gonna get right to it. let me show you all, right. so the best way that you can see this example is going to our popular theme, turbo, which, of course, if you guys are interested, i'll have that link down below. we use that for a lot of our projects. and if we pay attention to the desktop, we have the top menu system, as you can see, right here we have shop, but then once we hover over and click on it, you'll see that mega menu come out and then we have a column of different tiers of connect collections. we have women's apparel. this is a level two collection, in other words, it's here too. you'll explain it, i'll explain in a second. and then level three would be this one, which would be tops. so why do i see level one, level two, whatever? so this one, if i click on shop, if i click on this one, i call this the master collection. this is the one that goes all the way at the top, the one that's on the top of the food chain. if you click on this, it takes you to a collection that's called shop, all right, which pretty much shows you all of the products, right? so that's pretty, pretty obvious. uh, if we click on this and we click instead on women's apparel. now remember, women's apparel has sub categories underneath that, such as tops, bottoms, accessories. but if i click on women's apparel without clicking on any of those bottom ones, click on that, it takes me to a dedicated collection of nothing but these products here for women's apparel. that's level two. level three is when i click on tops, it's its own collection. it's just that it's queried up to just show those products that are just women tops. so how do we get this completed in shopify? one of the best things where i want to start at is go to like google sheets and start yourself a google documents form and plan out. i cannot stress how planning out is so important, because if you just try to like- you know freestyle, this shoot from the hip type of thing- and you just try to go at it right away and try to like set all this up, you're going to realize that it's going to create a lot of anxiety. it's going to create, um, a lot of frustration and going back and did i do this or i forgot to do that? and and when your frustration goes really high, it leads to this video or you end up hiring somebody that eventually will do that for you. but the purpose of this video again is to show you how this is done, and planning is the first step. so let's start by planning. so by planning, we're going to tok about setting up the main main menu system. i could type, and we type it in a google sheets so that we have that there. so this is the main menu system and based on what this is all broken up, let's discover what our collections, or what our level of collections are going to be. so we're going to start all the way at the top, where we have buy turbo, shop, gallery and theme info. write all that stuff down, right, so buy turbo, you know. and then we have the famous shop button and then the rest of the buttons. what were they? the rest of the buttons was gallery and theme info, right, okay. so now that we have that, we identify what are singular links and what are drop downs, that you have to plan out your navigation menu through here first so that you could take all this and then program it correctly all in one shot, versus going back here, back there. go this page, go that page, start here first. from shop, you say, okay, now this is shop. okay, i want to this is my right here, these guys right here. this is called master menu items. okay, all of these guys master menu items. let's go ahead and center this, okay, let's get rid of that and put this over here so that we know what we're toking about. okay, so this right here is our master, uh, set of items, or master menu items. it's all the way at the top, okay, and to kind of like, do a little something like this: uh, border it up and then let's say, shop, shop is a mega menu and the rest are singular, um, direct links, right. so we're saying, look, this is a singular link, singular links. okay, that's a mega menu. so now that shop's there, okay, fine, shop. what do we have underneath that as level two items? so level two items, according to turbo, how they have here, is we have women's apparel, yoga bags, okay. so we're gonna go right here: women's apparel, okay, yoga bags, right, and we start to fill this up all the way through, okay, so let's fast forward, all right. so i went ahead and cleaned it up a little bit so that you guys could see it. uh, let me see if i could zoom in just a tad bit more on this so you guys could see what i'm doing here. let's put it at 150.. i hope you guys could see there. okay, so we have a master menu. we have our second tier collections. we're identifying them. okay, because the first tier, the master collection, is called shop. shop is the master one. the second tier is collections. now what's the third? the third is what follows up right underneath each of these second tier collections. i'm going to fill that out too, and finally we have our third tier collection. so, long story short, this is how our planning looks like. let me zoom out here so that you guys could see just a bit how all of this uh planning happens. okay, so what i suggest is, for planning purposes, you start off here. you try to emulate on a google sheets exactly what your main system is. most importantly, don't lose that sheet, because every time your business evolves and you're trying to update rather inventory, new types of products came in, new catalogs came in, whatever you always want to refer back to when you first did this- and for that reason i'm going to go ahead and call this google docs, right, my inventory collections uh system, so you could call it, you know, the website's collection system, or inventory or main menu system. call it whatever you want. the point is is that you you have to always come back to this the moment that you want to change something. reason for that is so that you could understand visually what are the things that you're going to either delete or that you're going to create new. long story short. you need to follow down this path. let's pretend that we went over. we've already went ahead and did all this, so we are ready to go ahead and start implementing this stuff. how we're going to do this? we're going to do this backward guys. so first we need to create these third love, third tier collections. we're going to work backwards. we're not going to work from all the way at the top. we're going to work from all the way at the bottom. we're going to reverse engineer this problem and work our way up, and there's a reason to this madness, of course. okay, so what do i mean by that? i mean that you're gonna focus on creating the collections for the third tiers. okay, third tier collections. what you do is that you go to your website and you create a collection. so let's go to the website here, to this practike website. i'm going to go here to where it says products, collections and what you're going to do.
