Hey, what's up guys! Welcome back to my channel. I've received a lot of questions, comments, concerns, and requests to cover Shopify. For those of you who don't know, I opened a Shopify store at the end of last year. We technically started selling wholesale and liquidation lots in November, and went with the Shopify platform in December. It has been almost four months since we started, and in the last month, we've been able to do over $5,000 in sales. So, today, I want to show you what Shopify is, how it works, and give you an introduction to what we do.

What is Shopify?

Shopify is an online store eCommerce platform. It is not organic search like eBay and Amazon. It is a platform for sellers to put up their merchandise for sale in an easy, clean way, where they can accept payments, send money, produce shipping labels, and tracking for customers, and keep track of customers. However, you have to have an audience or a customer list in order to send them over to your platform. Think of Shopify as your own website, but you're using Shopify pre-built templates.

How does it work?

Shopify has a monthly charge of $29 per month, which is its basic price. They have upgraded prices which are shown on the pricing page. You can also pay for advertising like Facebook ads and Instagram ads to send traffic to your Shopify store. Shopify also allows you to see marketing, create campaigns and pay for marketing campaigns to go to all of your customers. You can create a discount code for loyal customers, just like you would on eBay.

How do you use it?

You can view your store by clicking the button at the bottom. You can see your own Lots, your catalog, and ones that are sold out or still available. You can navigate around the screen easily. You can see the breakdown of the products, payouts, and abandoned checkouts.

Overview Analytics Dashboard:

This shows you everything since you started. You can go back and look at your January, February, and March. In January, we did $1,549, and we started getting the hang of it. In February, we did about the same. January to February was really our get-ramped up to sell stuff. In March, we really had it figured out, and we started doing really well, $3,500 in March, and in April, in just 11 days, we have almost matched our entire March. The goal for our first year in 2020 was to do $25,000-$30,000. We have already done $11,000 by the end of this month, and we'll probably be at about $15,000. So, we've increased the goal to $50,000-$60,000 this year.

Profits:

Our cost of goods is coming from other people. We only take 10% from the buyer and seller, so 20%. Our profit is about $12,000-$14,000 if we end up doing $6,000-$7,000 this month. So, it is not a lot of profit, but we're not handling the merchandise, buying it, shipping it, or doing any of the actual work other than connecting buyers and sellers. Think of it as an eBay type platform.
