00:01:05 00:01:09 identify what is the core of your
00:01:07 00:01:12 business right most of you guys should
00:01:09 00:01:13 know this but one of my first businesses
00:01:12 00:01:16 first successful seven-figure businesses
00:01:13 00:01:18 was a in the fishing space now that
00:01:16 00:01:20 fishing business the core of that
00:01:18 00:01:22 business was to get people to pay me
00:01:20 00:01:24 monthly to pay me monthly to be part of
00:01:22 00:01:26 a fishing subscription box alright kind
00:01:24 00:01:28 of like barkbox Dollar Shave Club where
00:01:26 00:01:30 people paid me money every single month
00:01:28 00:01:32 and I gave them products every single
00:01:30 00:01:33 month right that was the core of the
00:01:32 00:01:37 business and I realized this pretty
00:01:33 00:01:38 early on because when most people what
00:01:37 00:01:40 most people are doing is they rely on
00:01:38 00:01:42 that first front and sale right they try
00:01:40 00:01:43 and get that first front end sale right
00:01:42 00:01:45 from their business and then don't
00:01:43 00:01:47 really have much left over to actually
00:01:45 00:01:48 pay themselves now when you actually
00:01:47 00:01:49 identify the core of your business and
00:01:48 00:01:51 your core your business might be just
00:01:49 00:01:53 selling a one-off product and getting
00:01:51 00:01:55 as many people's hands as possible right
00:01:53 00:01:58 but for me I realize I want to be able
00:01:55 00:01:59 to make predictable revenue month after
00:01:58 00:02:02 month after month and not be fighting
00:01:59 00:02:04 for the same customers all the time like
00:02:02 00:02:05 my competitors are doing right so I
00:02:04 00:02:07 identified the core of my business was
00:02:05 00:02:10 hey get subscription right getting
00:02:07 00:02:13 monthly subscribers okay and this leads
00:02:10 00:02:15 me to my second point is that you need
00:02:13 00:02:17 to understand your numbers to make this
00:02:15 00:02:19 work first okay that's really important
00:02:17 00:02:21 to understand right because if you want
00:02:19 00:02:22 to get free customers you can reverse
00:02:21 00:02:24 engineer the numbers and we're gonna
00:02:22 00:02:26 draw this out in a little bit to really
00:02:24 00:02:28 drive these points home but what you
00:02:26 00:02:29 need to understand is these these
00:02:28 00:02:33 numbers these are the most important
00:02:29 00:02:36 ones right your CPA or your CPP right
00:02:33 00:02:39 cost per acquisition cost per purchase
00:02:36 00:02:42 same exact thing right how much do you
00:02:39 00:02:44 have to pay Facebook ads and influencer
00:02:42 00:02:46 or whatever how much you have to pay
00:02:44 00:02:48 them to make a sale right it might be
00:02:46 00:02:49 ten dollars might be twenty dollars or
00:02:48 00:02:52 whatever it might be in my fishing
00:02:49 00:02:53 business right without using a funnel
00:02:52 00:02:55 which I'm going to be sharing with you
00:02:53 00:02:57 our cost soak our customer there's
00:02:55 00:02:59 roughly twenty to thirty dollars all
00:02:57 00:03:00 right sometimes even more Randy you're
00:02:59 00:03:02 gonna be seeing that in a second so you
00:03:00 00:03:04 need to identify what is your average
00:03:02 00:03:07 cost per purchase cost per acquisition
00:03:04 00:03:09 gonna be right even if it's five dollars
00:03:07 00:03:10 I'm gonna be sharing with you and you
00:03:09 00:03:11 might think everything's working well in
00:03:10 00:03:12 your business right now you're acquiring
00:03:11 00:03:14 customers at five three bucks
00:03:12 00:03:16 phantasm I'm gonna show you actually how
00:03:14 00:03:18 to get those customers completely for
00:03:16 00:03:19 free now the other one you want to
00:03:18 00:03:21 understand is your average Clarke value
00:03:19 00:03:24 right your average cart about how much
00:03:21 00:03:25 there's a first time person that comes
00:03:24 00:03:27 into your business how much do they
00:03:25 00:03:29 spend with you how much money does the
00:03:27 00:03:31 person spend with you right a lot of you
00:03:29 00:03:32 that are in the Shopify world and you're
00:03:31 00:03:35 building your e-commerce business on
00:03:32 00:03:37 Shopify you're really just relying on
00:03:35 00:03:39 that first sale maybe it's $9.99 you're
00:03:37 00:03:41 selling a fishing lure or some golf
00:03:39 00:03:42 equipment or whatever and you just sell
00:03:41 00:03:44 it for nine nine seven somebody comes
00:03:42 00:03:47 from an ad you paid them five dollars to
00:03:44 00:03:48 acquire 997 right after product cause
00:03:47 00:03:50 maybe you made two three bucks that's
00:03:48 00:03:52 awesome you made some money but really
00:03:50 00:03:53 not scalable right you need to increase
00:03:52 00:03:55 this average cart as you're gonna see
00:03:53 00:03:57 here with upsells that monthly
00:03:55 00:03:59 subscription as well and order bumps as
00:03:57 00:04:00 well okay so these numbers really
00:03:59 00:04:01 important to understand to really drive
00:04:00 00:04:04 this point home
00:04:01 00:04:06 now the third thing that you need to
00:04:04 00:04:09 make this really really work really
00:04:06 00:04:11 really well is a good front and offer
00:04:09 00:04:14 okay so what is a front end offer well
00:04:11 00:04:15 it is that product right bundled
00:04:14 00:04:17 together with a bunch of other high
00:04:15 00:04:20 perceived value things right things like
00:04:17 00:04:22 PDFs audio books maybe it's some
00:04:20 00:04:24 informational training courses right
00:04:22 00:04:26 that you're putting out there into the
00:04:24 00:04:27 world to bring customers in right think
00:04:26 00:04:29 of it kind of like fishing right where
00:04:27 00:04:31 you're throwing out hooks right and
00:04:29 00:04:34 basically it's testing out hey what bait
00:04:31 00:04:35 is gonna work to bring in a flood of
00:04:34 00:04:39 customers that then you can acquire
00:04:35 00:04:40 profitably completely for free okay so
00:04:39 00:04:41 now we're gonna draw this out you kind
00:04:40 00:04:45 of understand what the pieces look like
00:04:41 00:04:47 so a traditional the traditional model
00:04:45 00:04:49 what it looks like is your storefront
00:04:47 00:04:51 right and we're gonna go through there's
00:04:49 00:04:53 a real quick guy so typical WooCommerce
00:04:51 00:04:57 Shopify store what it kind of looks like
00:04:53 00:04:59 is right you have traffic goes to a
00:04:57 00:05:01 storefront that has you know a ton of
00:04:59 00:05:02 different products around it going on
00:05:01 00:05:05 and there's tons of different
00:05:02 00:05:06 distractions so hopefully right and I
00:05:05 00:05:08 don't know about you but I hate hoping
00:05:06 00:05:09 that people buy for me but this is what
00:05:08 00:05:11 a lot of Shopify stores do they come
00:05:09 00:05:12 here they have all these different
00:05:11 00:05:15 products all around here right this
00:05:12 00:05:18 customer maybe they pick one right they
00:05:15 00:05:21 hit the product page product page right
00:05:18 00:05:23 then they can click Add to Cart right if
00:05:21 00:05:26 they if they click Add to Cart then they
00:05:23 00:05:27 go to a cart page which is one of the
00:05:26 00:05:29 worst things ever
00:05:27 00:05:30 I hate car pages they literally kill the
00:05:29 00:05:32 amount of money you can make in your
00:05:30 00:05:34 business and after the car page they
00:05:32 00:05:36 finally click you know check out here I
00:05:34 00:05:38 believe it is then they finally go here
00:05:36 00:05:41 and they put in their their shipping
00:05:38 00:05:43 information is first right and then they
00:05:41 00:05:45 have actually hit another page where
00:05:43 00:05:46 it's the billing information and then
00:05:45 00:05:48 they finally write I don't even have
00:05:46 00:05:51 room here right so you can see how many
00:05:48 00:05:52 steps it took for somebody to give you
00:05:51 00:05:55 money right and the thing about it guys
00:05:52 00:05:57 is you need to make it easier right and
00:05:55 00:06:00 the reason why so many so many people
00:05:57 00:06:01 right come to us inside the Academy see
00:06:00 00:06:03 it in the comments is like hey P I get
00:06:01 00:06:04 traffic I get a ton of traffic but
00:06:03 00:06:08 nobody's buying for me like what's going
00:06:04 00:06:09 on like this this is why right because
00:06:08 00:06:11 you got a lot of you guys that are
00:06:09 00:06:12 getting add to carts but no sales right
00:06:11 00:06:14 you're making it really
00:06:12 00:06:15 for them to add the car right like you
00:06:14 00:06:17 might be sending directly your traffic
00:06:15 00:06:20 to the product page maybe you're
00:06:17 00:06:20 eliminating this fantastik right that's
00:06:20 00:06:21 great
00:06:20 00:06:23 and it's easy for them to click at their
00:06:21 00:06:25 car because it's one button it's right
00:06:23 00:06:26 on the page and they click it and then
00:06:25 00:06:28 they go to the car page and then they
00:06:26 00:06:29 leave because they see the price and
00:06:28 00:06:31 they're like oh I don't want this right
00:06:29 00:06:33 so this is what your issue is you're
00:06:31 00:06:35 having this disconnect right here some
00:06:33 00:06:36 of them probably even get to here right
00:06:35 00:06:37 some of your customers probably been get
00:06:36 00:06:39 to here and they're like well I have my
00:06:37 00:06:40 shipping and then guess what something
00:06:39 00:06:42 comes out baby starts crying dinner's
00:06:40 00:06:45 ready boom there you just lost the sound
00:06:42 00:06:46 it happens all the time right this is
00:06:45 00:06:50 way too many pages and way too many
00:06:46 00:06:52 hoops to make somebody go through ok now
00:06:50 00:06:54 one thing to understand guys and I want
00:06:52 00:06:57 to make this another point on this is
00:06:54 00:06:59 that when I was selling right before
00:06:57 00:07:02 when I was selling the fishing
00:06:59 00:07:04 subscription as a front end right as a
00:07:02 00:07:07 front end right I was driving to a
00:07:04 00:07:09 product page right and these customers
00:07:07 00:07:13 it would cost me it would cost me
00:07:09 00:07:16 roughly you know $20 right $20 it was
00:07:13 00:07:19 more twenty dollars to acquire somebody
00:07:16 00:07:20 to pay me on a monthly basis okay now in
00:07:19 00:07:22 addition to that 20 hours I had to pay
00:07:20 00:07:24 just to get that customer's credit card
00:07:22 00:07:26 information I have product costs right
00:07:24 00:07:29 um this isn't free that I'm giving them
00:07:26 00:07:31 so usually my front end offer there was
00:07:29 00:07:33 hey get your first monthly box for you
00:07:31 00:07:35 know five bucks so that was our
00:07:33 00:07:37 break-even for that so not only did I
00:07:35 00:07:39 have to pay them 220 bucks
00:07:37 00:07:41 I also had to basically break even on
00:07:39 00:07:43 the box so I literally maybe nothing
00:07:41 00:07:46 actually lost the money I lost 20 whole
00:07:43 00:07:47 dollars just from that sale but I was
00:07:46 00:07:48 willing to do that because I rely say
00:07:47 00:07:50 you know what that average customer
00:07:48 00:07:52 stays with me and in six seven months
00:07:50 00:07:54 from now I'm turn a profit right and
00:07:52 00:07:55 that's good if your venture back if you
00:07:54 00:07:57 got a lot of money maybe you're just
00:07:55 00:07:58 like a rich kid that has a bunch one day
00:07:57 00:08:00 you could probably make this work but
00:07:58 00:08:02 it's really really it's long it's
00:08:00 00:08:04 tedious and it takes a long time to put
00:08:02 00:08:07 money in your pocket right and now I
00:08:04 00:08:09 want to show you guys exactly how to get
00:08:07 00:08:12 those customers now completely for free
00:08:09 00:08:13 right so you don't use necessarily a
00:08:12 00:08:15 storefront now there's a place for these
00:08:13 00:08:17 storefronts right it's a place for your
00:08:15 00:08:19 current customers to hang out right and
00:08:17 00:08:20 by hanging out I mean spend a whole
00:08:19 00:08:22 bunch of money with you
00:08:20 00:08:24 so what this looks like now with is
00:08:22 00:08:25 something called a funnel right a lot of
00:08:24 00:08:26 you guys don't
00:08:25 00:08:28 necessarily know what a funnel is
00:08:26 00:08:30 especially if this is their first time
00:08:28 00:08:32 watching here because you've been really
00:08:30 00:08:33 told hey just use Shopify focus on that
00:08:32 00:08:36 first sale and make sales and the thing
00:08:33 00:08:38 is sales are nice but if you're not only
00:08:36 00:08:39 making a dollar from a sale that's it's
00:08:38 00:08:41 like pollute list like you're never
00:08:39 00:08:43 gonna be able to quit your job making a
00:08:41 00:08:44 dollar of profit per sale right a lot of
00:08:43 00:08:46 people like to show these numbers but
00:08:44 00:08:47 like what's your actual profit that's
00:08:46 00:08:49 what matters and it's hard to make a
00:08:47 00:08:51 profit on a front end sale really is
00:08:49 00:08:52 hard unless you have a good front end
00:08:51 00:08:55 offer right which we're going to be
00:08:52 00:08:58 going going through right now so what we
00:08:55 00:09:00 drive traffic to right now is not a
00:08:58 00:09:03 storefront right we only grab one
00:09:00 00:09:06 product and we put it into something
00:09:03 00:09:09 called an opt-in page now this opt-in
00:09:06 00:09:11 page the only goal of it right is to
00:09:09 00:09:14 grab an email address write an email
00:09:11 00:09:15 address that's it just grab the email
00:09:14 00:09:16 address now the reason we grabbed this
00:09:15 00:09:18 email address there's a couple
00:09:16 00:09:20 psychological reasons for this it's a
00:09:18 00:09:21 micro commitment that somebody gave you
00:09:20 00:09:23 a yes so they're gonna be more likely to
00:09:21 00:09:25 buy from you they give you another yes
00:09:23 00:09:28 but also this is essentially a sales
00:09:25 00:09:30 page right so this sales page mmm it is
00:09:28 00:09:32 highlighting your front end offer so
00:09:30 00:09:34 maybe your offering you know some some
00:09:32 00:09:36 fishing lures right you're offering some
00:09:34 00:09:37 lures here plus father bonuses right
00:09:36 00:09:40 something really entiking you want to
00:09:37 00:09:42 create an offer here that they can't get
00:09:40 00:09:44 on Amazon or warm or or somewhere else
00:09:42 00:09:45 you want to create it a really nice
00:09:44 00:09:47 compelling offer that's helping your
00:09:45 00:09:48 customer get to a result right cuz if
00:09:47 00:09:49 they feel like they're getting an
00:09:48 00:09:51 amazing deal they'll give you the email
00:09:49 00:09:52 address and they'll give you money so
00:09:51 00:09:55 after they give you an email address
00:09:52 00:09:58 they then go to an order page now this
00:09:55 00:10:00 order page right this order page is
00:09:58 00:10:02 where they can buy this front end offer
00:10:00 00:10:04 right this is where they can buy it now
00:10:02 00:10:05 there's a couple hacks in here we're not
00:10:04 00:10:07 gonna go too in depth in here if you

00:10:57 00:11:00 an extra set of hooks it can be a
00:10:59 00:11:02 limited edition product right it's
00:11:00 00:11:04 something logical that they would get
00:11:02 00:11:06 anyway right it's boarder bumps are just

00:11:13 00:11:16 what's gonna confuse some of you guys

00:11:16 00:11:19 aren't gonna trust me and people are
00:11:18 00:11:21 gonna do you know they I need a brand
00:11:19 00:11:23 look no one cares about your brand right

00:12:32 00:12:35 missed it right and then they finally

00:13:08 00:13:13 acquire now probably for like four
00:13:11 00:13:16 dollars five dollars right now I can get
00:13:13 00:13:18 a CPM five dollars right as opposed to
00:13:16 00:13:21 twenty thirty dollars and those of you
00:13:18 00:13:22 that are following on your I really hope
00:13:21 00:13:25 you're seeing the lightbulb here because
00:13:22 00:13:26 now this upsell even though not a
00:13:25 00:13:28 hundred will never be a hundred percent
00:13:26 00:13:29 of the people that come into the funnel
00:13:28 00:13:31 they'll actually buy this continuities
00:13:29 00:13:32 not gonna happen right hundred percent
00:13:31 00:13:33 conversion rate never happens if you do
00:13:32 00:13:36 have a hundred percent reversion rate
00:13:33 00:13:38 raise your prices please but guess what
00:13:36 00:13:40 now I'm acquiring customers profitably
00:13:38 00:13:42 even if I'm breaking even right here
00:13:40 00:13:43 that's all good even if I break even
00:13:42 00:13:46 right here that's fantastik because
00:13:43 00:13:49 guess what what if maybe you know three
00:13:46 00:13:50 out of ten buyers now join this I'm
00:13:49 00:13:53 getting these customers to pay me
00:13:50 00:13:56 monthly for free so I'm just completely
00:13:53 00:13:58 eliminated this cost and getting these
00:13:56 00:14:01 customers completely for free to pay me
00:13:58 00:14:02 on a monthly basis break even right here
