00:00:27 00:00:31 from an advertising perspective now this
00:00:30 00:00:32 kind of
00:00:31 00:00:34 backwards but i still use it from a
00:00:32 00:00:37 personal perspective i probably should
00:00:34 00:00:38 stop that but advertise on the platform
00:00:37 00:00:39 right to make money
00:00:38 00:00:41 but we're going to tok about why i
00:00:39 00:00:42 personally stopped using
00:00:41 00:00:44 tiktok ads we're going to also tok a
00:00:42 00:00:46 little bit about why we have not
00:00:44 00:00:46 integrated this into our advertising

00:00:49 00:00:52 toked about our agency we got eight or
00:00:51 00:00:54 nine thousand followers over there
00:00:52 00:00:55 and uh you know our agency does does
00:00:54 00:00:57 well we do 30 to 50 million dollars a
00:00:55 00:00:58 year and gross sales for clients and we
00:00:57 00:01:00 have people that
00:00:58 00:01:01 have real brands with a ton of inventory
00:01:00 00:01:03 we help them structure things and
00:01:01 00:01:05 set up payment processing and a bunch of
00:01:03 00:01:06 really cool stuff yet
00:01:05 00:01:08 we refuse as of right now we have
00:01:06 00:01:09 clients who ask we will not touch tik
00:01:08 00:01:11 tok ads for them
00:01:09 00:01:12 and in the next 10 minutes or so that's
00:01:11 00:01:13 all it's going to take if you got
00:01:12 00:01:14 something more important to do and some
00:01:13 00:01:16 music video to watch
00:01:14 00:01:18 and you can't do 10 minutes then hey
00:01:16 00:01:19 just move on but this is one of those
00:01:18 00:01:20 things where very quickly you're going

00:02:30 00:02:33 out of my control because it all affects
00:02:31 00:02:35 me but there are some things
00:02:33 00:02:36 i just can't change now i'm a very
00:02:35 00:02:39 optimistik person
00:02:36 00:02:41 but the tiktok platform is just so
00:02:39 00:02:42 new and we've seen this with every
00:02:41 00:02:44 advertising platform most recently
00:02:42 00:02:47 snapchat before tiktok but
00:02:44 00:02:48 it will take time for them to develop
00:02:47 00:02:51 and for them to collect feedback
00:02:48 00:02:53 from both advertisers and enough data
00:02:51 00:02:55 from customer interactions
00:02:53 00:02:57 this is something where again snapchat
00:02:55 00:02:59 was kind of the most recent behind them
00:02:57 00:03:00 but every platform even facebook makes
00:02:59 00:03:02 big changes
00:03:00 00:03:03 every once in a while because they've
00:03:02 00:03:05 learned something new they've collected

00:05:53 00:05:55 might be targeting apple you might be
00:05:54 00:05:56 targeting iphone
00:05:55 00:05:58 you may be targeting pet lovers you
00:05:56 00:06:00 might be targeting petsmart different
00:05:58 00:06:01 businesses for pets
00:06:00 00:06:03 okay on tiktok though you're going to
00:06:01 00:06:05 be targeting maybe if they even have it
00:06:03 00:06:06 pets if not pets you're going to target
00:06:05 00:06:09 tiknology because
00:06:06 00:06:10 phone case so it's like the most broad
00:06:09 00:06:12 thing so
00:06:10 00:06:15 i notiked very quickly my slightly
00:06:12 00:06:16 specific slightly older demographic
00:06:15 00:06:17 based product in the health and wellness
00:06:16 00:06:18 space
00:06:17 00:06:20 the main product i run ads for there's
00:06:18 00:06:22 three of them but the main one
00:06:20 00:06:23 that does probably 70 of the sales well
00:06:22 00:06:26 it just
00:06:23 00:06:26 wasn't quite fitting with the broad
00:06:26 00:06:29 targeting
00:06:26 00:06:30 that tiktok offers so it's one of
00:06:29 00:06:32 those things to think about
00:06:30 00:06:34 the demographics do play a role in my
00:06:32 00:06:35 primary audience is just not on tik
00:06:34 00:06:37 tok very much
00:06:35 00:06:39 now i do want to say i got the ads to a
00:06:37 00:06:41 super solid
00:06:39 00:06:42 roughly break even okay and now from a
00:06:41 00:06:45 branding
00:06:42 00:06:45 perspective the word branding is very
00:06:45 00:06:47 important
00:06:45 00:06:49 i'd have no problem running ads at
00:06:47 00:06:51 breakeven because
00:06:49 00:06:52 it's it's very brandable and you're just
00:06:51 00:06:53 getting out there you're being what's
00:06:52 00:06:55 called
00:06:53 00:06:56 omnipresent okay you're everywhere in
00:06:55 00:06:58 the marketplace someone goes to facebook
00:06:56 00:06:59 they see you they go to instagram they
00:06:58 00:07:00 see you now they got a tiktok they
00:06:59 00:07:03 see you
00:07:00 00:07:04 so the only reason i decided to stop
00:07:03 00:07:06 doing this
00:07:04 00:07:07 was because it was taking a little bit
00:07:06 00:07:09 of my focus and my attention
00:07:07 00:07:11 now i don't have someone on my team
00:07:09 00:07:12 that's a tik-tok expert because that
00:07:11 00:07:14 is not something we focused on
00:07:12 00:07:15 the most experienced person who spent a
00:07:14 00:07:16 couple hundred thousand dollars still
00:07:15 00:07:18 testing still learning
00:07:16 00:07:19 and i didn't really care too much about
00:07:18 00:07:21 the tiktok because it was a little
00:07:19 00:07:23 bit inconsistent
00:07:21 00:07:24 now there is one thing that i really
00:07:23 00:07:25 like about tiktok and this for any
00:07:24 00:07:27 advertiser
00:07:25 00:07:29 should sound like a dream okay because

00:07:29 00:07:33 this would be so beneficial if facebook
00:07:31 00:07:35 or instagram put it on
00:07:33 00:07:37 the one cool thing literally the only
00:07:35 00:07:40 cool thing is the ability to turn off

00:07:40 00:07:45 a huge deal the reason for that

00:07:47 00:07:52 is sick the customer experience is sick

00:08:08 00:08:12 get it cheaper over here on aliexpress

00:08:12 00:08:15 and try to put a link and it's really
00:08:14 00:08:17 interesting to see some people
00:08:15 00:08:19 as well also say oh i ordered from them
00:08:17 00:08:20 and never got it and so
00:08:19 00:08:22 obviously our support who's on the
00:08:20 00:08:23 facebook page or instagram page pings
00:08:22 00:08:24 them a message
00:08:23 00:08:26 hey what's order number like let's get
00:08:24 00:08:28 this solved they never ordered they
00:08:26 00:08:29 don't they can't send us anything some
00:08:28 00:08:30 people also send us like a fake order
00:08:29 00:08:31 number
00:08:30 00:08:32 some people like it too they can't
00:08:31 00:08:33 supply any information showing their
00:08:32 00:08:35 order
00:08:33 00:08:36 so people will literally they've nothing
00:08:35 00:08:38 better to do in their day than try to
00:08:36 00:08:40 bring someone else down
00:08:38 00:08:41 either one of two things is happening
00:08:40 00:08:42 they're just trying to be negative and
00:08:41 00:08:45 scam you or
00:08:42 00:08:47 they ordered from someone else and for
00:08:45 00:08:49 some reason they attribute it to you
00:08:47 00:08:50 this happens a lot when i started a new

00:08:50 00:08:55 it was very memorable because someone
00:08:53 00:08:56 selling that same product
00:08:55 00:08:58 must have never fulfilled their orders
00:08:56 00:08:59 because literally day one of running ads
00:08:58 00:09:01 on 100
00:08:59 00:09:03 a day budget i had three separate
00:09:01 00:09:04 comments where people were telling me
00:09:03 00:09:06 that this is a scam don't order i
00:09:04 00:09:07 ordered three months ago never got it
00:09:06 00:09:10 never got an email
00:09:07 00:09:11 it is a new store you can't really
00:09:10 00:09:13 comment back and say
00:09:11 00:09:15 that's ridiculous we just opened today
00:09:13 00:09:17 today's our first day
00:09:15 00:09:18 because it makes you sound very you know
00:09:17 00:09:20 it doesn't sound too good
00:09:18 00:09:22 now that is what we chose to do saying
00:09:20 00:09:23 hey we haven't been open for three
00:09:22 00:09:24 months we just got our inventory a month
00:09:23 00:09:25 ago so
00:09:24 00:09:27 you know provide us with any order
00:09:25 00:09:28 information but we haven't had an order
00:09:27 00:09:30 from you so i'm sorry
00:09:28 00:09:31 you're thinking about someone else
00:09:30 00:09:33 that's the best thing you can do is to
00:09:31 00:09:34 post a public reply so that other people
00:09:33 00:09:36 could at least see
00:09:34 00:09:37 that there's some sort of conversation
00:09:36 00:09:38 and dispute against that going on that's
00:09:37 00:09:40 very valid so
00:09:38 00:09:41 one of the reasons again that's uh
00:09:40 00:09:42 that's one reason why i stopped tik
00:09:41 00:09:44 tok is just
00:09:42 00:09:45 the focus on the platform and the fact
00:09:44 00:09:47 that it's so new the targeting does not
00:09:45 00:09:50 allow you to go in depth enough
00:09:47 00:09:52 and i still see more benefit in terms of
00:09:50 00:09:53 reaching more people in a better way
00:09:52 00:09:55 over on platforms like facebook and
00:09:53 00:09:56 google okay
00:09:55 00:09:58 here's one thing that i do want to just
00:09:56 00:09:59 point out though because it's it's such
00:09:58 00:10:02 a benefit i don't want to
00:09:59 00:10:03 like deter anyone from starting tik
00:10:02 00:10:04 tok the two things that are great
00:10:03 00:10:07 turning off the comments
00:10:04 00:10:09 and the level of support is unparalleled
00:10:07 00:10:10 there is no platform that i found not
00:10:09 00:10:12 even google
00:10:10 00:10:13 that has better support than the tik
00:10:12 00:10:15 tok advertising platform
00:10:13 00:10:16 i think it'll get worse when it goes on
00:10:15 00:10:18 and as things continue there's more
00:10:16 00:10:20 advertisers but you can kind of build
00:10:18 00:10:21 some relationships with some reps right
00:10:20 00:10:23 now so
00:10:21 00:10:25 i think it's actually a huge investment
00:10:23 00:10:27 and it's something though for right now
00:10:25 00:10:29 i'm hands off so i'll keep you updated

00:10:30 00:10:33 products maybe we start doing it for you

00:10:40 00:10:43 tiktok probably just isn't the best

00:10:43 00:10:46 limit perspective no random disables you
00:10:45 00:10:48 can turn off the comments
00:10:46 00:10:50 get good support that's all very
00:10:48 00:10:51 attractive as an advertiser so make sure
