I Tried To Become A Dropshipping Guru In 5 Days

Last week, I decided to try my hand at dropshipping. It's a popular way to make money online, and I wanted to see if I had what it takes to become a guru in just five days. Here's what happened.

Day 1:

- Researched the most popular products on AliExpress

- Set up a Shopify store

- Installed Oberlo to manage product imports

Day 2:

- Tried to optimize my store for SEO

- Made some basic social media accounts

- Reached out to influencers on Instagram

Day 3:

- Imported products into my store

- Tried to write compelling product descriptions

- Set up Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel

Day 4:

- Tried to run Facebook ads

- Tested out different ad creatives

- Monitored my ad spend

Day 5:

- Checked my sales

- Was disappointed to find no sales

- Decided to throw in the towel and accept that I am not a dropshipping guru

Dropshipping may seem like an easy way to make money, but it's harder than it looks. It takes time, effort, and skill to become successful at it. While I may not have become a guru in just five days, I learned a lot about the process and have a newfound respect for those who are successful at it.

I Tried To Become A Dropshipping Guru In 5 Days

For months, I have been trying to figure out the complicated world of Shopify dropshipping. Despite my efforts, I was losing hundreds of dollars daily on advertising with Instagram theme pages and Facebook ads. However, I came across a YouTube channel called Ecom King, which had free courses on Shopify dropshipping and print on demand.

Choosing a Guru:

After researching several Shopify gurus, including Hayden Bowles, Max Trubitsky, and Kevin David, who have been exposed by Ballerbusters for scamming their clients, I finally found Ecom King. I decided to learn from him and see if I could make a success in the e-commerce world.

Advertising Plan:

I chose a store called Enchanting Therapy and decided to advertise with Instagram influencers. Ecom King taught me to find influencers using cloudhq.com and to select those with real followers and engagement.

Results:

After sending out my video ad and ad copy to several Instagram theme pages, I closed seven deals. The promotions cost $140, and our goal was to sell three LED therapy masks for a total of $150 in revenue off of $40 in ad spend. Unfortunately, we got no sales from the first two promotions.

However, the five promotions that went live the next day led to a total revenue of $210. After subtracting the influencer costs of $140 and the product costs of $72.80, our total profit was slightly in the negative.

Shopify dropshipping is a skill that can take years to perfect. While I didn't make a profit in this challenge, I plan to continue building my store and perfecting my skills. Thank you for reading this article, and I hope it was informative for you.
