How to show specific product information using tags in shopify on product page

- Hello store owners, I hope you are doing well this week.

- A question from a YouTube user prompted me to show how to take any tag information from a product and display it on the product page.

How to Display Tag Information on a Product Page:

- Step 1: Go to your product in the admin panel and add a new tag with a unique identifier, like info: followed by the information you want to display.

- Step 2: Look in your product template page where you have the Add to Cart button, and find the button element. If you can't find it, look for anything that says include and see if it's included in another template.

- Step 3: In the button element code, add a for tag in product tags loop to look for all the tags in your product tags. Then, add a condition to check if the tag contains your unique identifier.

- Step 4: If the tag contains your unique identifier, use a bar remove code to remove the identifier and only show the information you want. Save and refresh the page to see the result.

How to Change the Link on the Add to Cart Button:

- Step 1: Add a new tag called link: and point it to the URL you want to link to.

- Step 2: In the button element code, add a new condition to check if the link tag exists. If it does, assign the tag to a new variable called link.

- Step 3: If the link tag exists, create a new button element with a link to the link variable. If it doesn't, show the regular Add to Cart button.

- Step 4: Remove the link: identifier from the tag using the bar remove code, just like before.

- Displaying tag information and changing the Add to Cart button link can be done easily by following these steps.

- Remember to use comments to make your code more understandable, and to subscribe to my channel for more helpful videos.

How To Add Custom Fields To Products On Shopify

In this article, Christian discusses the new update on Shopify that allows adding custom fields or meta fields to products. He explains how custom fields help to customize the functionality and appearance of a Shopify store by saving specialized information that isn't usually captured by the Shopify admin. Christian gives examples of how a candle seller might want to display burn time for candles on their product pages while a grocery store may want to display a product expiration date for canned goods. He then shows how to add model information and sizing information in a collapsible menu to the product pages.

To add custom fields or meta fields, one needs to access the meta fields option in settings. There are two ways to access the meta fields: through settings and through products. To add a new definition, one needs to select the content type, such as color, date and time, file, json files, measurements, number, rating, reference, text, true or false, and URLs.

Christian explains how to fully use the new meta fields by using an online store 2.0 theme. He shows how to customize the theme and add custom fields or meta fields to the product pages. He gives an example of adding burn time information for candles and shows how to combine static text with dynamic data to display the burn time information on the product pages.

In conclusion, the new update on Shopify allows adding custom fields or meta fields to products, which helps to customize the functionality and appearance of a Shopify store. The process of adding custom fields or meta fields is explained in detail, and examples are given to help users understand how to use them.
