- A question from a YouTube user prompted me to show how to take any tag information from a product and display it on the product page.
How to Display Tag Information on a Product Page:
- Step 1: Go to your product in the admin panel and add a new tag with a unique identifier, like info: followed by the information you want to display.
- Step 2: Look in your product template page where you have the Add to Cart button, and find the button element. If you can't find it, look for anything that says include and see if it's included in another template.
- Step 3: In the button element code, add a for tag in product tags loop to look for all the tags in your product tags. Then, add a condition to check if the tag contains your unique identifier.
- Step 4: If the tag contains your unique identifier, use a bar remove code to remove the identifier and only show the information you want. Save and refresh the page to see the result.
How to Change the Link on the Add to Cart Button:
- Step 1: Add a new tag called link: and point it to the URL you want to link to.
- Step 2: In the button element code, add a new condition to check if the link tag exists. If it does, assign the tag to a new variable called link.
- Step 3: If the link tag exists, create a new button element with a link to the link variable. If it doesn't, show the regular Add to Cart button.
- Step 4: Remove the link: identifier from the tag using the bar remove code, just like before.
