00:00:43 00:00:47 lot of people to think again
00:00:45 00:00:49 if google ads is actually dying and
00:00:47 00:00:51 personally i've also notiked this
00:00:49 00:00:52 and that's why i'm making a video to go
00:00:51 00:00:55 over kind of my thoughts and what
00:00:52 00:00:56 is going on basically and why if you're
00:00:55 00:00:58 already using google
00:00:56 00:01:00 you may be facing some lower amounts of
00:00:58 00:01:01 conversions return on aspen you might
00:01:00 00:01:02 even be barely profitable and just
00:01:01 00:01:04 getting by
00:01:02 00:01:06 compared to how you were doing before so

00:01:06 00:01:09 the first thing you'll have to do in
00:01:07 00:01:10 order to find any type of success with

00:01:24 00:01:27 general drop shipping store to see
00:01:25 00:01:28 exactly what is going on with the data

00:01:28 00:01:32 i'm looking at the chart for the last 30
00:01:29 00:01:32 days and we're looking at the daily time
00:01:32 00:01:34 period
00:01:32 00:01:36 for the last 30 days let's go ahead and
00:01:34 00:01:37 take a look at all of the overall
00:01:36 00:01:39 conversion value over cost meaning
00:01:37 00:01:40 return on ad spend so
00:01:39 00:01:42 as you guys can see it has been
00:01:40 00:01:44 fluctuating up and down tremendously
00:01:42 00:01:46 but if we now start looking a little bit
00:01:44 00:01:47 back maybe let's look at the last 90
00:01:46 00:01:49 days up to today
00:01:47 00:01:51 we can see exactly why people may be
00:01:49 00:01:52 thinking that google ads is starting to
00:01:51 00:01:54 die out and again
00:01:52 00:01:55 as i said i've also faced some issues
00:01:54 00:01:57 similar to this
00:01:55 00:01:58 with my own ads account starting around
00:01:57 00:02:00 late april
00:01:58 00:02:02 early may is when things kind of started
00:02:00 00:02:04 to become shaky as you guys see
00:02:02 00:02:05 my robust was still absolutely amazing i
00:02:04 00:02:07 was getting 7.21
00:02:05 00:02:09 return on ad spend and if we change this
00:02:07 00:02:10 to weekly we can see that overall within
00:02:09 00:02:12 those
00:02:10 00:02:14 few weeks it was still above a 4.0 which
00:02:12 00:02:16 is again absolutely amazing and i
00:02:14 00:02:19 couldn't ask for better results however
00:02:16 00:02:20 if we look at the entire chart starting
00:02:19 00:02:22 from the last 90 days
00:02:20 00:02:24 up until today weekly we can also see
00:02:22 00:02:27 the overall trend and exactly
00:02:24 00:02:28 what is going on with the roes for me
00:02:27 00:02:30 personally in this ad account as the
00:02:28 00:02:32 cost started to increase
00:02:30 00:02:33 the conversion value over cost actually
00:02:32 00:02:36 started to decrease so it was
00:02:33 00:02:37 in the peak time around 6.09 within that
00:02:36 00:02:40 week so i made about 24
00:02:37 00:02:42 000 in the week of may 3rd and onwards
00:02:40 00:02:43 and it slowly started to go down as you
00:02:42 00:02:44 guys can see it was still
00:02:43 00:02:47 a little bit stagnant during this time
00:02:44 00:02:48 period but since about end of may early
00:02:47 00:02:50 june basically
00:02:48 00:02:51 is when it really started to go down and
00:02:50 00:02:53 right now when i'm recording this video
00:02:51 00:02:54 it's beginning of july july
00:02:53 00:02:56 7th and things are still starting to go
00:02:54 00:02:58 down and this is just not me
00:02:56 00:03:00 a lot of other individuals have been
00:02:58 00:03:02 starting to face similar issues
00:03:00 00:03:04 when it comes to google ads and as you
00:03:02 00:03:07 guys can see i'm still doing pretty well
00:03:04 00:03:08 lowest row as was about 3.27 which is
00:03:07 00:03:10 considered high for a lot of people
00:03:08 00:03:13 using facebook ads so
00:03:10 00:03:14 overall it was not bad but from the
00:03:13 00:03:16 beginning if you look at early may we
00:03:14 00:03:18 can see that there has been
00:03:16 00:03:19 about half of a decrease in the return
00:03:18 00:03:20 on ad spend which is absolutely
00:03:19 00:03:22 concerning
00:03:20 00:03:23 for a lot of individuals now because
00:03:22 00:03:24 i've been doing drop shipping and i've
00:03:23 00:03:26 been using google ads for
00:03:24 00:03:28 quite some time now i know how the
00:03:26 00:03:30 overall chart works i know which months
00:03:28 00:03:32 are good which ones are bad and so forth
00:03:30 00:03:32 this is not too big of a deal for me
00:03:32 00:03:34 however
00:03:32 00:03:36 for the rest of you guys who may just be
00:03:34 00:03:37 starting out with google ads or you
00:03:36 00:03:38 may have been using google ads for a
00:03:37 00:03:39 while but just don't know how to deal
00:03:38 00:03:40 with this
00:03:39 00:03:42 here is exactly what is going on right
00:03:40 00:03:43 now we all know that last year was a
00:03:42 00:03:44 very
00:03:43 00:03:46 interesting year with so many different
00:03:44 00:03:48 changes a lot of the things that were
00:03:46 00:03:49 working in the previous years basically
00:03:48 00:03:51 stopped working overnight
00:03:49 00:03:53 within the last year and these things
00:03:51 00:03:54 started to work within the last year so
00:03:53 00:03:55 because of that last year was
00:03:54 00:03:57 interesting we can't really take that
00:03:55 00:03:59 into account however
00:03:57 00:04:01 during the middle portion of this year
00:03:59 00:04:03 so basically starting june is when
00:04:01 00:04:05 things started to get back to normal
00:04:03 00:04:07 as they usually were this means that
00:04:05 00:04:08 more and more people especially here in
00:04:07 00:04:10 the united states
00:04:08 00:04:11 if you are targeting your shopping camps
00:04:10 00:04:13 to the u.s only
00:04:11 00:04:15 started to go out more the restrictions
00:04:13 00:04:16 were loosened up so more people started
00:04:15 00:04:18 shopping outside instead of just sitting
00:04:16 00:04:20 on their computers at home
00:04:18 00:04:21 shopping this is one of the main reasons
00:04:20 00:04:23 why you can see
00:04:21 00:04:24 a little bit of a dip starting beginning
00:04:23 00:04:26 of june and especially
00:04:24 00:04:28 after the middle of june is when things
00:04:26 00:04:30 start to go down once again so
00:04:28 00:04:31 this is what i like to call the normalcy
00:04:30 00:04:34 curve this means
00:04:31 00:04:34 things are now going back to normal but
00:04:34 00:04:35 before
00:04:34 00:04:37 it really starts to settle down and go
00:04:35 00:04:38 back to normal there is going to be a
00:04:37 00:04:41 huge dip
00:04:38 00:04:42 upwards or a huge dip downwards because
00:04:41 00:04:43 people were not used to the normal
00:04:42 00:04:45 within the past year
00:04:43 00:04:48 everything was crazy everybody was going
00:04:45 00:04:48 crazy so with this new freedom you could
00:04:48 00:04:50 say
00:04:48 00:04:51 people are starting to get a little bit
00:04:50 00:04:53 overly excited they're starting to spend
00:04:51 00:04:54 more time than usual outdoors
00:04:53 00:04:57 they're trying to stay away from the
00:04:54 00:04:58 computers laptops and prevent basically
00:04:57 00:04:59 shopping online because that's all they
00:04:58 00:05:01 did last year so
00:04:59 00:05:02 because they want to kind of get back to
00:05:01 00:05:04 normal now they're just enjoying their
00:05:02 00:05:05 new days of freedom
00:05:04 00:05:07 until they get bored of it and that is
00:05:05 00:05:09 exactly what is happening here and that
00:05:07 00:05:11 is exactly why
00:05:09 00:05:13 so many people are seeing a big dip
00:05:11 00:05:14 downwards in the overall ad spend for
00:05:13 00:05:16 their ads and the overall
00:05:14 00:05:18 broads for their campaigns so that is
00:05:16 00:05:19 one of the main reasons however now
00:05:18 00:05:20 let's take a little bit of a bigger look
00:05:19 00:05:23 and look at all time
00:05:20 00:05:24 and we're gonna adjust this chart to now
00:05:23 00:05:26 look at monthly
00:05:24 00:05:27 so as you guys can see within the past
00:05:26 00:05:28 year as i already mentioned
00:05:27 00:05:30 it was a very interesting year we can't
00:05:28 00:05:33 really take that too much into account
00:05:30 00:05:33 however looking at last year it did
00:05:33 00:05:35 follow
00:05:33 00:05:37 somewhat of a similar curve to what was
00:05:35 00:05:38 going on during this time period as well
00:05:37 00:05:39 and by the way in case you're wondering
00:05:38 00:05:41 how much
00:05:39 00:05:43 in total this ad account did and this
00:05:41 00:05:45 specific general store did we spent
00:05:43 00:05:47 about 265 thousand dollars since
00:05:45 00:05:49 beginning of 2020 to generate over 1.3
00:05:47 00:05:51 million dollars so that's a
00:05:49 00:05:53 amazing return on aspen and if you want

00:05:55 00:05:59 but we're again looking at why this is
00:05:57 00:06:02 happening and why this happens
00:05:59 00:06:04 over a period of time so a lot of people
00:06:02 00:06:04 get overly excited when things start to
00:06:04 00:06:06 go up like this
00:06:04 00:06:07 they think google ads is working and it
00:06:06 00:06:08 doesn't really matter what advertising
00:06:07 00:06:10 platform you use
00:06:08 00:06:12 they think that that is the best
00:06:10 00:06:13 advertising platform in the world and
00:06:12 00:06:15 nothing can bring them down
00:06:13 00:06:16 that is exactly what happens during this
00:06:15 00:06:18 curve upwards however
00:06:16 00:06:20 you reach a peak at some point because
00:06:18 00:06:22 nothing can keep on going
00:06:20 00:06:23 up nothing can keep on going down and
00:06:22 00:06:24 after that peak
00:06:23 00:06:26 is when things start to turn around for
00:06:24 00:06:28 me it was in march of 2020
00:06:26 00:06:30 i had one main winning product related
00:06:28 00:06:31 to the events going on in the world
00:06:30 00:06:33 during that time period which is why i
00:06:31 00:06:35 had such crazy results but once more
00:06:33 00:06:36 competitors started to get in the market
00:06:35 00:06:37 once more people started to copy my
00:06:36 00:06:38 product
00:06:37 00:06:40 that's when things started to go down
00:06:38 00:06:41 and as you guys can see every single
00:06:40 00:06:44 month after that time period
00:06:41 00:06:44 it did start to go down however these
00:06:44 00:06:47 specific
00:06:44 00:06:49 periods right here of time of months are
00:06:47 00:06:51 usually the slowest months in my own
00:06:49 00:06:53 experience not with just this store
00:06:51 00:06:54 but other stores as well so usually june
00:06:53 00:06:57 july and august
00:06:54 00:06:58 is the time period when more people are
00:06:57 00:07:00 outdoors they're traveling
00:06:58 00:07:02 they don't really have time to spend on
00:07:00 00:07:03 their computers laptop shopping
00:07:02 00:07:05 and this often leads to a lot of people
00:07:03 00:07:06 just not buying
00:07:05 00:07:08 things online this does not mean that
00:07:06 00:07:10 online buying is dead historically
00:07:08 00:07:11 however with my own general store and
00:07:10 00:07:13 even my niche store
00:07:11 00:07:14 i've notiked that these time periods are
00:07:13 00:07:16 often the slowest and we can see
00:07:14 00:07:18 the same thing happening in june july
00:07:16 00:07:21 and august of 2020.
00:07:18 00:07:22 in july the robust was about 3.63 so not
00:07:21 00:07:24 the best compared to where i was
00:07:22 00:07:25 previously at 13. so that was a really
00:07:24 00:07:27 big drop
00:07:25 00:07:30 in august it was even lower than july so
00:07:27 00:07:31 3.30 so that doesn't mean that i did
00:07:30 00:07:33 anything different that doesn't mean i
00:07:31 00:07:35 started adding less products i was still
00:07:33 00:07:35 doing the same strategies i always teach
00:07:35 00:07:38 you guys
00:07:35 00:07:40 however just because of the seasonality
00:07:38 00:07:41 of the time period of the year
00:07:40 00:07:44 this is what was going on during that
00:07:41 00:07:46 time period but once august started
00:07:44 00:07:47 to come to an end that is when things
00:07:46 00:07:50 really picked up and in september we saw
00:07:47 00:07:51 a 4.97 roast and in october we saw a
00:07:50 00:07:53 6.21
00:07:51 00:07:55 and november it was around 4.36 because
00:07:53 00:07:56 it was during the time period i was
00:07:55 00:07:57 really scaling this campaign
00:07:56 00:07:59 as you guys can see it did kind of
00:07:57 00:08:00 return back to normal during these time
00:07:59 00:08:01 periods and then
00:08:00 00:08:04 it went back down in january until going
00:08:01 00:08:05 back up in february march and april
00:08:04 00:08:07 of this eve so what i wanted to tell you
00:08:05 00:08:09 guys from these statistiks and overall
00:08:07 00:08:11 what people are facing is
00:08:09 00:08:13 it is absolutely normal to have really a
00:08:11 00:08:14 lot of ups and downs in e-commerce and
00:08:13 00:08:15 in drop shipping
00:08:14 00:08:17 as you guys can see the ups can be
00:08:15 00:08:18 really tremendous ups the downs can be
00:08:17 00:08:19 really low
00:08:18 00:08:21 downs and especially right now with
00:08:19 00:08:23 what's going on and more people starting
00:08:21 00:08:25 to go outside there are just some things
00:08:23 00:08:27 which are out of your hand so if you are
00:08:25 00:08:28 doing all of the right things if you're
00:08:27 00:08:29 consistently adding new products every
00:08:28 00:08:31 single day
00:08:29 00:08:33 if you're optimizing your campaigns
00:08:31 00:08:33 every 7 to 14 days like i tell you guys
00:08:33 00:08:34 too
00:08:33 00:08:36 and you're still seeing that your sales
00:08:34 00:08:37 are not where you want them to be you're
00:08:36 00:08:39 not really profitable
00:08:37 00:08:40 all you have to do is give it time to
00:08:39 00:08:42 get back to normal that is
00:08:40 00:08:44 one of the main solutions i've found
00:08:42 00:08:46 time and time again
00:08:44 00:08:48 after running shopify stores for such a
00:08:46 00:08:50 long time you can do a lot of things
00:08:48 00:08:52 such as stop the campaigns restart them
00:08:50 00:08:54 at smart shopping
00:08:52 00:08:55 optimize them even more but all that is
00:08:54 00:08:57 going to do is
00:08:55 00:08:58 even increase the acceleration of this
00:08:57 00:08:59 decrease
00:08:58 00:09:01 in the curve and with google ads that
00:08:59 00:09:03 can actually be the reason for your dawn
00:09:01 00:09:05 fault simply because with google
00:09:03 00:09:07 it is a patient-based platform it is a
00:09:05 00:09:08 time-based platform
00:09:07 00:09:10 you cannot be making decisions too
00:09:08 00:09:10 quickly because all that's going to
00:09:10 00:09:13 happen is
00:09:10 00:09:14 your ros is going to start tanking very
00:09:13 00:09:16 very quickly so instead
00:09:14 00:09:18 what you want to do is just give it time
00:09:16 00:09:19 that is exactly what i did during the
00:09:18 00:09:21 months of june july and august it was
00:09:19 00:09:23 not a pleasant feeling
00:09:21 00:09:24 seeing the robots dip over time however
00:09:23 00:09:26 there was nothing else that i could
00:09:24 00:09:27 personally do and because i already knew
00:09:26 00:09:29 that if i tried to
00:09:27 00:09:30 do a little bit too much that could end
00:09:29 00:09:32 up ruining the campaign
00:09:30 00:09:34 overall i just decided to stay back and
00:09:32 00:09:36 just let the campaign perform
00:09:34 00:09:38 i changed my optimization time frame
00:09:36 00:09:39 from seven days to 14 and i just let
00:09:38 00:09:40 things run in the background because a
00:09:39 00:09:41 lot of the times
00:09:40 00:09:43 what you will see is that just letting
00:09:41 00:09:44 things run not really playing around too
00:09:43 00:09:45 much with them
00:09:44 00:09:47 and just letting them do its thing can
00:09:45 00:09:49 work to your advantage when it comes to
00:09:47 00:09:51 google and that is exactly
00:09:49 00:09:53 what happened after june july and august
00:09:51 00:09:54 because august again was the lowest
00:09:53 00:09:56 time period for me with the lowest
00:09:54 00:09:58 amount of profits but after that without
00:09:56 00:10:00 even changing anything by just
00:09:58 00:10:02 consistently adding new products every
00:10:00 00:10:04 single day it changed literally
00:10:02 00:10:06 within a matter of a few days so this
00:10:04 00:10:08 just lets you know that seasonality with
00:10:06 00:10:10 google ads specifically
00:10:08 00:10:12 has a very big role of course even with
00:10:10 00:10:13 any other advertising platforms
00:10:12 00:10:14 you cannot expect to sell a portable air
00:10:13 00:10:16 conditioner during the months of
00:10:14 00:10:17 december and january
00:10:16 00:10:19 because those are the coldest months so
00:10:17 00:10:21 seasonality is going to be an important
00:10:19 00:10:23 factor regardless of what
00:10:21 00:10:24 advertising platform you use but with
00:10:23 00:10:26 google it is just a little bit extra
00:10:24 00:10:27 simply because if you're running a
00:10:26 00:10:29 general store you're going to have a lot
00:10:27 00:10:30 of products within different collections
00:10:29 00:10:32 categories
00:10:30 00:10:34 some may be seasonal some may be
00:10:32 00:10:35 consistent because of that is just going
00:10:34 00:10:37 to fluctuate tremendously
00:10:35 00:10:39 however if you continue following all of
00:10:37 00:10:40 the tutorials that i have on youtube
00:10:39 00:10:42 regarding google
00:10:40 00:10:43 if you consistently add new products
00:10:42 00:10:44 within a wide variety of different
00:10:43 00:10:46 collections
00:10:44 00:10:47 then you will see that overall it does
00:10:46 00:10:49 still stay consistent
00:10:47 00:10:51 instead of just going up really quickly
00:10:49 00:10:52 and then down all the way to zero
00:10:51 00:10:53 because that is what a lot of facebook
00:10:52 00:10:55 advertisers face
00:10:53 00:10:56 where they have an amazing month where
00:10:55 00:10:58 they do five hundred thousand dollars in
00:10:56 00:10:59 sales in a single month
00:10:58 00:11:01 but in the next month it is 5 000 and
00:10:59 00:11:02 the next one is zero dollars in sales
00:11:01 00:11:04 and
00:11:02 00:11:06 that is simply because they rely on one
00:11:04 00:11:07 product too much so with google
00:11:06 00:11:09 you have the ability to advertise
00:11:07 00:11:10 multiple different products inside of
00:11:09 00:11:13 one general testing campaign
00:11:10 00:11:14 without going crazy handling all of the
00:11:13 00:11:16 different campaigns so
00:11:14 00:11:17 that is exactly what you should be doing
00:11:16 00:11:19 don't worry too much
00:11:17 00:11:21 about the downs because over time if you
00:11:19 00:11:23 just let it run let it optimize
00:11:21 00:11:24 it is going to go up over time and as
00:11:23 00:11:26 you guys can see over time the campaign
00:11:24 00:11:28 spend did start to increase
00:11:26 00:11:29 and with the increase the rows did
00:11:28 00:11:31 slightly dip but overall
00:11:29 00:11:32 in a lot of the months it was very
00:11:31 00:11:33 consistent like for example in the
00:11:32 00:11:35 months of may
00:11:33 00:11:36 and april and may i was able to achieve
00:11:35 00:11:38 a 5.0
00:11:36 00:11:40 and above roast so that is absolutely
00:11:38 00:11:42 amazing that is only with google ad so
00:11:40 00:11:43 this is a platform which requires time
00:11:42 00:11:44 and patience
00:11:43 00:11:46 so just keep at it and let it run in the
00:11:44 00:11:47 background without making too many
00:11:46 00:11:48 optimizations
