00:01:22 00:01:24 think and now i know people are gonna

00:01:26 00:01:29 attention all the attention in the world
00:01:28 00:01:31 on their store and it is important to
00:01:29 00:01:32 have a good store
00:01:31 00:01:34 but it just needs to be decent it
00:01:32 00:01:35 doesn't have to be like 30 hours of
00:01:34 00:01:37 custom this and that just a basic good
00:01:35 00:01:39 store you can make money with it
00:01:37 00:01:41 and the goal is to get it up so that
00:01:39 00:01:42 then you can make money and then come
00:01:41 00:01:43 back to it
00:01:42 00:01:45 right you put more time and money into
00:01:43 00:01:46 the store once it's working
00:01:45 00:01:48 okay so we're gonna go through and here

00:03:08 00:03:13 started and you have a smaller budget
00:03:11 00:03:14 go for a free theme there are great free
00:03:13 00:03:16 themes
00:03:14 00:03:17 again some people will just disagree
00:03:16 00:03:18 with me until the day they die but
00:03:17 00:03:19 that's fine
00:03:18 00:03:21 if it's your first store actually
00:03:19 00:03:23 whether you have a big budget or not
00:03:21 00:03:25 go with the free one you know learn get
00:03:23 00:03:26 that experience first
00:03:25 00:03:27 then you kind of figure out what works
00:03:26 00:03:28 for you what doesn't and what route you
00:03:27 00:03:29 should be taking
00:03:28 00:03:31 and then you can buy one because there's
00:03:29 00:03:32 things that are like 50 bucks 100 bucks

00:03:32 00:03:36 they're not too expensive but just kind
00:03:34 00:03:37 of get that experience first if it's

00:03:37 00:03:40 so three free themes actually before we

00:03:40 00:03:42 um like i said these aren't as important
00:03:41 00:03:43 as some of the other things that we're
00:03:42 00:03:45 going to be covering
00:03:43 00:03:47 but it depends on the amount of products
00:03:45 00:03:48 you're selling so like if you have a one
00:03:47 00:03:50 product store if you have five products
00:03:48 00:03:52 a hundred products i've seen people with
00:03:50 00:03:53 3 500
00:03:52 00:03:55 products it's like what you do bro
00:03:53 00:03:56 import all of aliexpress like it's kind
00:03:55 00:03:57 of ridiculous
00:03:56 00:03:59 but i mean there's companies that sell a
00:03:57 00:04:00 lot of stuff i mean look at walmart's
00:03:59 00:04:01 website for an example
00:04:00 00:04:03 i don't know exactly how many products
00:04:01 00:04:06 they have but i can imagine it's a huge
00:04:03 00:04:07 phenomenal number so you know you just
00:04:06 00:04:08 kind of gotta account for what it is
00:04:07 00:04:11 you're trying to do
00:04:08 00:04:12 so three good free themes that i
00:04:11 00:04:14 personally like i've used and still use
00:04:12 00:04:16 to this day
00:04:14 00:04:18 simple okay you can type that in on the
00:04:16 00:04:19 shopify store that shows you the themes
00:04:18 00:04:22 you can check those out you can filter
00:04:19 00:04:22 by free or paid inside of the free
00:04:22 00:04:24 category
00:04:22 00:04:26 simple is a good one in my opinion if
00:04:24 00:04:28 you run a clothing brand or something
00:04:26 00:04:30 with a lot a lot of products
00:04:28 00:04:31 so let's say you have i don't know a
00:04:30 00:04:32 tik company and you have just hundreds
00:04:31 00:04:35 of phone cases
00:04:32 00:04:36 cables wires computers cameras this that
00:04:35 00:04:37 everything on there
00:04:36 00:04:39 different categories got a lot of
00:04:37 00:04:40 products simple is a good spot to
00:04:39 00:04:42 simplify that and put it together
00:04:40 00:04:44 debut is a classic i'm sure you guys
00:04:42 00:04:45 have heard of this just a simple good
00:04:44 00:04:47 clean looking theme that is proven to
00:04:45 00:04:49 convert again it's so much more about
00:04:47 00:04:51 your product and your ads but
00:04:49 00:04:52 debut is good venture i've been rocking
00:04:51 00:04:54 with venture i think one of my first
00:04:52 00:04:56 stores was with the venture theme
00:04:54 00:04:58 probably four to five years ago and
00:04:56 00:05:00 venture's been a good one for me
00:04:58 00:05:02 it's really good if you have multiple
00:05:00 00:05:05 categories so for example
00:05:02 00:05:07 let's say you have a men's women and
00:05:05 00:05:09 baby that's three categories right
00:05:07 00:05:10 you're selling clothing in each of those
00:05:09 00:05:12 three separate categories you know
00:05:10 00:05:14 whatever you're doing if you're have a
00:05:12 00:05:15 sports store right and you have or like
00:05:14 00:05:15 let's say it's a football store it's
00:05:15 00:05:17 niche
00:05:15 00:05:19 it's inside of sports you're selling
00:05:17 00:05:22 football equipment you could have like
00:05:19 00:05:24 jerseys equipment training the gear all
00:05:22 00:05:26 the different categories
00:05:24 00:05:28 that is a good a good theme to consider
00:05:26 00:05:29 using you can switch these around easy
00:05:28 00:05:31 especially if you get a free one
00:05:29 00:05:33 now the paid ones three that work good
00:05:31 00:05:35 polaris motion and impulse
00:05:33 00:05:37 there's so many to list here i just
00:05:35 00:05:37 don't want to go too ridiculous with
00:05:37 00:05:39 them
00:05:37 00:05:40 uh but those are good and inexpensive
00:05:39 00:05:42 themes that you can purchase
00:05:40 00:05:44 ideally once something's working because
00:05:42 00:05:46 whatever store you build you don't have
00:05:44 00:05:47 to stik with it forever you will change
00:05:46 00:05:48 it you will update it and as you're
00:05:47 00:05:49 making more money
00:05:48 00:05:51 you're going to keep putting more time
00:05:49 00:05:53 and attention and resources
00:05:51 00:05:55 back on improving the site to increase
00:05:53 00:05:57 your conversions so polaris is a great
00:05:55 00:05:59 paid one for a huge collection of
00:05:57 00:06:00 products a lot a lot of products
00:05:59 00:06:02 motion is really interactive if you have
00:06:00 00:06:04 like some sort of motion video
00:06:02 00:06:06 or a lot of really cool custom pictures
00:06:04 00:06:08 you would probably want to take a look
00:06:06 00:06:09 at motion just because it integrates
00:06:08 00:06:11 that really well in the header
00:06:09 00:06:13 as you scroll down you have one block
00:06:11 00:06:13 text and then another almost sub header
00:06:13 00:06:15 under that
00:06:13 00:06:17 so it's a really cool way to have you
00:06:15 00:06:18 know very some interactive content to
00:06:17 00:06:20 say the least
00:06:18 00:06:21 i do see people putting like motion
00:06:20 00:06:24 pictures under there which is cool
00:06:21 00:06:25 kind of like a video almost like gopro
00:06:24 00:06:27 if you've ever seen gopro
00:06:25 00:06:29 stands in the mall or websites where
00:06:27 00:06:29 it's like motion picture with text over
00:06:29 00:06:31 it
00:06:29 00:06:33 something like that and then impulse is
00:06:31 00:06:35 a really branded layout so it's kind of
00:06:33 00:06:37 like an instant brand feel
00:06:35 00:06:38 um you guys can go check it out and see
00:06:37 00:06:38 the examples on there you'll probably
00:06:38 00:06:40 see what i mean
00:06:38 00:06:42 it almost feels like you're at like a
00:06:40 00:06:43 boutique you know it's like a little
00:06:42 00:06:45 boutique shop that's kind of
00:06:43 00:06:47 very trustworthy it's just kind of the
00:06:45 00:06:48 vibe that i get off of that so
00:06:47 00:06:50 there's a couple of things on your theme
00:06:48 00:06:51 pick one run with it you're probably
00:06:50 00:06:52 gonna change it anyways so don't spend
00:06:51 00:06:55 more than 10 minutes on this
00:06:52 00:06:56 okay product photos this is the second
00:06:55 00:06:57 point this is huge
00:06:56 00:06:59 i put a lot of attention on this for one
00:06:57 00:07:00 simple reason i'm a marketing guy i'm
00:06:59 00:07:03 the ad guy
00:07:00 00:07:05 so when i am looking at the photos
00:07:03 00:07:06 that's going to portray into how i'm
00:07:05 00:07:08 selling my customer
00:07:06 00:07:09 the actual layout of the website who
00:07:08 00:07:10 give a rat that gives a rat's ass it's
00:07:09 00:07:12 just
00:07:10 00:07:13 kind of the layout as long as what's on
00:07:12 00:07:14 that layout looks
00:07:13 00:07:15 good and those are these other two
00:07:14 00:07:16 things we're going to tok about the
00:07:15 00:07:19 first one of that is this
00:07:16 00:07:21 product photos so here's a few ways to
00:07:19 00:07:22 get good photos now i do want to just
00:07:21 00:07:24 start by kind of
00:07:22 00:07:26 saying this bottom piece you can use
00:07:24 00:07:28 your supplier photos to start
00:07:26 00:07:30 just don't take a photo from another
00:07:28 00:07:32 website or from someone's
00:07:30 00:07:33 ads and put that on your site or run ads
00:07:32 00:07:35 with it it's just not a good idea you
00:07:33 00:07:36 can get in trouble for that
00:07:35 00:07:38 but you can take it from a supplier like
00:07:36 00:07:40 if you're sourcing off aliexpress
00:07:38 00:07:41 working with a drop shipping agent or if
00:07:40 00:07:43 you have a private supplier
00:07:41 00:07:44 use their photos to start just make sure
00:07:43 00:07:46 they don't have a logo on it i'll put up
00:07:44 00:07:46 some examples of kind of what i mean by
00:07:46 00:07:48 that
00:07:46 00:07:50 a lot of aliexpress stuff like the
00:07:48 00:07:50 actual suppliers will put their logo on
00:07:50 00:07:52 the photo
00:07:50 00:07:54 it's so easy to just color it out so you
00:07:52 00:07:56 can actually do that inside of shopify
00:07:54 00:07:57 you can get canva which is a free
00:07:56 00:07:59 website you can even do that just on
00:07:57 00:08:00 your computer it'll let you edit the
00:07:59 00:08:02 photo and you can kind of draw over it
00:08:00 00:08:04 so that's one way to do it now you can
00:08:02 00:08:05 use the amazon
00:08:04 00:08:07 mirroring method this is something i've
00:08:05 00:08:09 personally used nobody told me about
00:08:07 00:08:10 this it just kind of clicked one day
00:08:09 00:08:12 when i was thinking about the speed of
00:08:10 00:08:14 getting photos
00:08:12 00:08:15 what if you could find the same exact
00:08:14 00:08:18 product it has to be the same
00:08:15 00:08:19 but the exact same product no detailed
00:08:18 00:08:22 differences
00:08:19 00:08:23 on amazon we'll just buy it from there
00:08:22 00:08:24 get two day shipping even one day
00:08:23 00:08:26 shipping
00:08:24 00:08:27 and then take photos it's quick it's
00:08:26 00:08:29 probably not that expensive
00:08:27 00:08:30 and it's probably a little quicker than
00:08:29 00:08:31 ordering from your supplier which should
00:08:30 00:08:33 take a few weeks
00:08:31 00:08:34 now that doesn't discredit the second
00:08:33 00:08:36 point which you definitely
00:08:34 00:08:38 should order from your supplier whether
00:08:36 00:08:40 you have sales coming in or not
00:08:38 00:08:42 you should understand from a marketer's
00:08:40 00:08:43 perspective the experience that your
00:08:42 00:08:45 customers are going to have
00:08:43 00:08:46 i feel like that that kind of relates
00:08:45 00:08:48 into how you're going to write your ad
00:08:46 00:08:50 copy your product description
00:08:48 00:08:51 and how you treat the whole process so
00:08:50 00:08:52 you'd be surprised by how many people i
00:08:51 00:08:54 know that make
00:08:52 00:08:56 a lot of money with e-commerce and have
00:08:54 00:08:57 yet to actually go through their own
00:08:56 00:08:59 website and order
00:08:57 00:09:00 as if they were a customer like they'll
00:08:59 00:09:02 get products sent to them
00:09:00 00:09:04 but what if you order as an anonymous
00:09:02 00:09:06 customer look at all the little details
00:09:04 00:09:08 inside that order confirmation email
00:09:06 00:09:10 try to reach out to support as if you're
00:09:08 00:09:11 a random person use a fake name
00:09:10 00:09:13 see how your own support team reacts i
00:09:11 00:09:15 love to test my team
00:09:13 00:09:16 i test my sales team i test every team
00:09:15 00:09:19 you know see from a live
00:09:16 00:09:20 situation unscripted how that
00:09:19 00:09:22 interaction is
00:09:20 00:09:24 and then from the supplier perspective
00:09:22 00:09:26 how fast is the shipping did you get
00:09:24 00:09:27 tracking did the tracking number work
00:09:26 00:09:29 what was the packaging like you know is
00:09:27 00:09:31 the product good quality
00:09:29 00:09:33 understand that experience okay so plus
00:09:31 00:09:34 then when you get the product you know
00:09:33 00:09:35 at the end of a week or two weeks
00:09:34 00:09:37 however long your shipping takes
00:09:35 00:09:38 then you can take photos with it you
00:09:37 00:09:40 just don't want blurry photos and you
00:09:38 00:09:41 don't want photos that you stole from
00:09:40 00:09:42 someone else so it is important to have
00:09:41 00:09:44 great photos
00:09:42 00:09:45 and just a little pro tip for you i
00:09:44 00:09:47 don't really like to have white
00:09:45 00:09:49 background photos i like to have it be
00:09:47 00:09:50 an interactive shot of someone using it
00:09:49 00:09:52 so like you know if i'm selling this
00:09:50 00:09:54 computer monitor behind me that you see
00:09:52 00:09:55 it wouldn't be on a white background
00:09:54 00:09:55 with nothing else where it's just a
00:09:55 00:09:58 monitor
00:09:55 00:09:59 it would be me sitting at the desk using
00:09:58 00:10:00 the monitor it kind of gives a
00:09:59 00:10:02 perspective of size
00:10:00 00:10:04 and someone can visualize themselves
00:10:02 00:10:05 with the product which helps
00:10:04 00:10:07 basically helps them sell themselves
00:10:05 00:10:09 okay so the third point here
00:10:07 00:10:10 my favorite the most fun the most
00:10:09 00:10:13 interactive from a marketing perspective
00:10:10 00:10:15 the description here are a few key
00:10:13 00:10:17 points to focus on
00:10:15 00:10:18 build off your ad copy you should write
00:10:17 00:10:20 the product description first
00:10:18 00:10:22 and then your ad copy and then go back
00:10:20 00:10:22 and forth it's not just like one and
00:10:22 00:10:24 then one
00:10:22 00:10:25 it'll be one and then you go here and
00:10:24 00:10:27 then you go back there you're just
00:10:25 00:10:29 moving back and forth because the ad
00:10:27 00:10:30 copy which is the text
00:10:29 00:10:33 under your actual ad that you're showing
00:10:30 00:10:34 customers that's basically a summary
00:10:33 00:10:36 highlighted version
00:10:34 00:10:38 of your your product description it's
00:10:36 00:10:39 meant to pitch them
00:10:38 00:10:41 and pitch the potential customer to get
00:10:39 00:10:43 them to go over your website
00:10:41 00:10:44 so it's really as simple as that so you
00:10:43 00:10:46 want to kind of go back and forth
00:10:44 00:10:48 have a highlighted feature section you
00:10:46 00:10:48 can just do a quick bullet point about
00:10:48 00:10:50 like
00:10:48 00:10:51 the product like let's say i'm selling
00:10:50 00:10:52 t-shirts you know it'd be like a
00:10:51 00:10:55 flexible
00:10:52 00:10:56 breathable athletik fit without being
00:10:55 00:10:58 restricting
00:10:56 00:10:59 well it's washable yet it's durable i
00:10:58 00:11:00 can just make a fat list just off a
00:10:59 00:11:01 t-shirt
00:11:00 00:11:03 you know this is not hard just come up
00:11:01 00:11:04 with things that you know are true and
00:11:03 00:11:06 make it sound good and show the
00:11:04 00:11:08 highlighted features of the product
00:11:06 00:11:10 now another thing to do is make sure
00:11:08 00:11:12 you're mobile optimized nowadays
00:11:10 00:11:14 anywhere from like 40 to 70 percent of
00:11:12 00:11:14 your traffic depending on your marketing
00:11:14 00:11:16 means
00:11:14 00:11:18 is probably going to be coming from
00:11:16 00:11:19 mobile so just hit the little mobile
00:11:18 00:11:21 button when you're editing
00:11:19 00:11:23 uh the actual website on shopify through
00:11:21 00:11:24 their editing platform
00:11:23 00:11:26 and look at what it looks like on mobile
00:11:24 00:11:27 something as simple as that can make
00:11:26 00:11:29 such a huge difference
00:11:27 00:11:31 some websites look phenomenal just
00:11:29 00:11:32 amazing on desktop
00:11:31 00:11:33 and they look like trash on someone's
00:11:32 00:11:34 phone and then that's where most of the
00:11:33 00:11:36 customers are coming from
00:11:34 00:11:37 and then they wonder for months why
00:11:36 00:11:38 they're not getting sales you got to
00:11:37 00:11:39 look at it from the customer's
00:11:38 00:11:40 perspective
00:11:39 00:11:43 it's kind of the same idea of ordering
00:11:40 00:11:45 the product all right uh the next one
00:11:43 00:11:46 fun focus on facts you don't need to
00:11:45 00:11:47 sell them through your product
00:11:46 00:11:49 description
00:11:47 00:11:51 i don't like to be super salesy in there
00:11:49 00:11:53 i used to i used to have some crazy
00:11:51 00:11:55 timers i used to have like you know
00:11:53 00:11:56 you can still do like a little countdown
00:11:55 00:11:58 stuff but i used to like try to use
00:11:56 00:12:00 specific wording and like the end of my
00:11:58 00:12:00 description was like a pitch back up to
00:12:00 00:12:03 the price
00:12:00 00:12:05 and like it was all pitchy but keep it
00:12:03 00:12:05 short keep it simple inform them on the
00:12:05 00:12:07 product
00:12:05 00:12:10 the product description is someone's way
00:12:07 00:12:12 of reaffirming if they want it or
00:12:10 00:12:14 not it's the way an educated consumer
00:12:12 00:12:15 will learn about the product
00:12:14 00:12:17 and then make a decision so it is
00:12:15 00:12:18 important to have the proper information
00:12:17 00:12:19 there
00:12:18 00:12:21 but someone's usually already made up
00:12:19 00:12:21 their mind on if they really want it or
