montana want ads

Welcome to The Daily Show, coming to you from Atlanta, Georgia, on night three. We've been having so much fun here every single day, learning something new about the place. Yesterday, I learned about the interesting food philosophy in Georgia. When I asked someone where to eat, they recommended the wings at JR Crickets, with lemon pepper wet, extra crispy, and extra sprinkles. They even suggested going to American Deli afterwards for peach soda to balance out the sodium. The food was delicious, but I slept for a week.

I also discovered that Atlanta is a sports town. The excitement for the Georgia-Tennessee game on Saturday is palpable. The Braves winning the World Series and the University of Georgia winning the national championship have added to the city's energy. And with the midterms just a few days away, the city is buzzing. People are standing in line for hours to make their voices heard and breaking early voting records.

But amidst the excitement, what stood out to me were the campaign ads flooding the airwaves. Every ad I saw was a negative attack ad, filled with mean-spirited comments about the candidates. It made me realize how attack ads only drive up polarization and hate, instead of focusing on the candidates' policies and what they will do if elected. Attack ads should be illegal. Politicians should earn our vote by telling us what they will do, not by tearing down their opponents.

And it's not just in Georgia; attack ads are becoming meaner every day across America. They paint opponents as inherently evil monsters, poisoning the entire country. This only fuels partisanship and makes it harder for people to work together after the election.

What's even worse is that many attack ads are based on lies. Candidates splice together quotes to make it seem like their opponents said something they never actually said. Campaign flyers feature candidates wearing shirts they never wore. The level of dishonesty in these ads is alarming.

In a race in California, an ad claimed that a candidate was trying to indoctrinate students in communism because their school district taught Chinese. The candidate even predicted this attack, showing just how dishonest these ads can be.

In my opinion, attack ads do more harm than good. They don't just attack policies; they attack the character of opponents. They spread lies and misinformation. It's time to put an end to this destructive campaign tactic and focus on what really matters – the candidates' plans for the future.
