00:00:00 00:00:05 hey guys welcome back to my channel I'm
00:00:01 00:00:07 Tatiana and today I'm going to tell you
00:00:05 00:00:10 a little story about how I started my
00:00:07 00:00:12 business and how I went from a broke
00:00:10 00:00:14 college student to where I'm at today
00:00:12 00:00:16 and it's funny because I realized that
00:00:14 00:00:19 this whole time I haven't shared with
00:00:16 00:00:21 you guys on this channel luxe biz who I
00:00:19 00:00:23 am and you know my business and all that
00:00:21 00:00:25 stuff I it's so weird that I haven't
00:00:23 00:00:27 created a video yet and it's because I
00:00:25 00:00:31 kind of assumed that everyone already
00:00:27 00:00:33 knew because a couple year ago I did a
00:00:31 00:00:34 video with my boyfriend at the time and
00:00:33 00:00:37 it went viral
00:00:34 00:00:41 I got 4 point 1 million views and it the
00:00:37 00:00:44 title was how she makes 50,000 how this
00:00:41 00:00:46 23 year old makes $50,000 a month or
00:00:44 00:00:47 whatever it was like that and so I got a
00:00:46 00:00:50 lot of views and so I started getting a
00:00:47 00:00:53 lot of messages on Instagram and social
00:00:50 00:00:55 media and everyone asking me you know
00:00:53 00:00:56 how do I do this and how do I do that
00:00:55 00:00:57 and you tell me this and it's a good
00:00:56 00:00:59 product
00:00:57 00:01:01 and I really couldn't answer everyone
00:00:59 00:01:04 and up until now I still get a ton of
00:01:01 00:01:06 messages that I just can't respond to
00:01:04 00:01:09 because I just don't have the time to do
00:01:06 00:01:11 that so I figured ok what's the best way
00:01:09 00:01:13 to help people without responding to
00:01:11 00:01:16 them on an individual basis and I
00:01:13 00:01:18 figured sharing a video so that's how
00:01:16 00:01:20 luxe bids came about I created this
00:01:18 00:01:22 channel because I said okay I'll take
00:01:20 00:01:24 everyone's top questions and then I'll
00:01:22 00:01:26 answer them in video format so that it
00:01:24 00:01:28 can reach more people and help more
00:01:26 00:01:30 people and so yeah that's why I love
00:01:28 00:01:34 spits exists that's why I tok about
00:01:30 00:01:36 Amazon specifically and so yeah I guess
00:01:34 00:01:38 I should start sharing my story now so
00:01:36 00:01:42 three years ago I was a college student
00:01:38 00:01:45 broke pretty broke I mean was working as
00:01:42 00:01:48 a waitress part-time at a restaurant in
00:01:45 00:01:51 Canada and going to school full time I
00:01:48 00:01:53 was studying politikal science which is
00:01:51 00:01:54 funny because you know what I do now has
00:01:53 00:01:57 nothing to do with that
00:01:54 00:01:59 and so yeah it's just basically my days
00:01:57 00:02:01 would be I wake up in the morning really
00:01:59 00:02:03 early 5:00 a.m. take the bus while it's
00:02:01 00:02:06 still dark to school and I come home
00:02:03 00:02:08 when it starts I wish we would never see
00:02:06 00:02:11 sunlight and then on the weekends I
00:02:08 00:02:13 would work a cactus Club I mean I guess
00:02:11 00:02:16 I'll sell you guys cactus Club which is
00:02:13 00:02:17 the restaurant I worked at and and then
00:02:16 00:02:21 I would see my boyfriend whenever I had
00:02:17 00:02:24 time and that was life then I met I
00:02:21 00:02:26 think it was six months or sometime
00:02:24 00:02:29 after being in a relationship with my
00:02:26 00:02:31 boyfriend at the time he was telling me
00:02:29 00:02:34 hey you should start an online business
00:02:31 00:02:36 and because he had an only business so
00:02:34 00:02:38 he has his own blog that he's been doing
00:02:36 00:02:39 for the last eight years and so he was
00:02:38 00:02:42 pushing me to start an online business
00:02:39 00:02:44 because he was seeing how much I worked
00:02:42 00:02:46 and how little time I had for him and so
00:02:44 00:02:48 he wanted me to have more time to spend
00:02:46 00:02:51 with him and also because he was able to
00:02:48 00:02:53 work from his computer so he was able to
00:02:51 00:02:55 travel the world and work independently
00:02:53 00:02:57 and did not really have any strings
00:02:55 00:03:00 attached she didn't have really any
00:02:57 00:03:02 obligations and so for myself you know I
00:03:00 00:03:04 can't just pick up my things and leave
00:03:02 00:03:06 school for a month or leave my work it
00:03:04 00:03:08 just didn't really work out that way and
00:03:06 00:03:10 so he was really kind of encouraging me
00:03:08 00:03:12 to start an online business but I really
00:03:10 00:03:14 didn't want to I really didn't like the
00:03:12 00:03:16 idea of working on the computer
00:03:14 00:03:20 I didn't even own a computer at the time
00:03:16 00:03:23 I had an iPad and so for me it was just
00:03:20 00:03:25 not really an intriguing idea so I kind
00:03:23 00:03:28 of held off on that for a while and then
00:03:25 00:03:29 one day I was like okay let me just try
00:03:28 00:03:31 this because this is getting too much
00:03:29 00:03:33 you know I was just not having any time
00:03:31 00:03:36 to spend with him and I was not enjoying
00:03:33 00:03:39 my days and not enjoying the work that I
00:03:36 00:03:41 did and so I tried it you know there's
00:03:39 00:03:44 so many different ways to make money
00:03:41 00:03:45 online and so I tried a few different
00:03:44 00:03:47 things this is before I knew about
00:03:45 00:03:51 selling on Amazon and so the first thing
00:03:47 00:03:53 I tried was Kindle publishing I took his
00:03:51 00:03:55 course which is K money mastery it's a
00:03:53 00:03:57 great course and it taught me to publish
00:03:55 00:04:00 books online and sell them and become my
00:03:57 00:04:03 you know self-published and so I haven't
00:04:00 00:04:05 had a puppy he's some cute Simba and
00:04:03 00:04:07 basically I
00:04:05 00:04:10 used him on the cover of my books for
00:04:07 00:04:13 inspiration I did I started a dog
00:04:10 00:04:15 training line of books and so a lot of
00:04:13 00:04:17 the books I didn't write myself I used
00:04:15 00:04:19 ghost writers but some of the books I
00:04:17 00:04:21 did write myself because I've actually
00:04:19 00:04:22 learning to train my dog and so I was
00:04:21 00:04:23 using that information to write the
00:04:22 00:04:25 books they're not like big novels
00:04:23 00:04:27 they're short books and so then I would
00:04:25 00:04:28 take a picture my job and he'd be the
00:04:27 00:04:31 cover of the book and it was really
00:04:28 00:04:33 really cute but I did that for a while
00:04:31 00:04:35 and I think I had about 6 books and they
00:04:33 00:04:36 were doing it around like maybe 600
00:04:35 00:04:38 bucks a month and I was like really
00:04:36 00:04:41 excited it's $600 a month you know
00:04:38 00:04:44 that's that's a really good income for a
00:04:41 00:04:46 broke college student to have coming
00:04:44 00:04:48 from the internet and so that lasted a
00:04:46 00:04:50 little while but then I started to lose
00:04:48 00:04:53 excitement for it and I just didn't like
00:04:50 00:04:54 it so I was trying to pursue other you
00:04:53 00:04:57 know things online so I tried a few
00:04:54 00:04:59 different things and really liked it and
00:04:57 00:05:02 finally I discovered selling on Amazon
00:04:59 00:05:05 so the reason that I discovered it was
00:05:02 00:05:08 because my boyfriend was an affiliate
00:05:05 00:05:09 for this course and so he presented the
00:05:08 00:05:11 course to me he was telling me about the
00:05:09 00:05:13 course and so we'd both decided that we
00:05:11 00:05:15 wanted to learn how to sell products on
00:05:13 00:05:17 Amazon and so we both enrolled in the
00:05:15 00:05:19 course at the same time and so it was
00:05:17 00:05:21 excited to have him you know learning
00:05:19 00:05:23 the same things I was learning and so he
00:05:21 00:05:25 started going through the course and it
00:05:23 00:05:27 was a little bit of a competition of who
00:05:25 00:05:30 would you know achieve things faster and
00:05:27 00:05:32 so it was kind of fun and so he was
00:05:30 00:05:35 sourcing his own products and I was
00:05:32 00:05:37 sourcing my own products and so you know
00:05:35 00:05:39 prior to that of course I didn't have
00:05:37 00:05:41 any experience with business or online
00:05:39 00:05:43 selling or marketing or sales you know
00:05:41 00:05:46 all I knew was politikal science from
00:05:43 00:05:49 University and my little experience from
00:05:46 00:05:51 life you know so it was very new to me
00:05:49 00:05:53 but thank god this course was very
00:05:51 00:05:55 in-depth and so it helped me kind of get
00:05:53 00:05:59 through everything and learn everything
00:05:55 00:06:01 but you know when you're doing business
00:05:59 00:06:02 you know it's very different than I
00:06:01 00:06:04 think when you're studying it when
00:06:02 00:06:06 you're studying business in university
00:06:04 00:06:08 you can memorize things in a textbook
00:06:06 00:06:09 and you know do the test but it's
00:06:08 00:06:11 different when you're in it you're in it
00:06:09 00:06:12 and all these things are happening and
00:06:11 00:06:15 you have to deal with them whether you
00:06:12 00:06:17 like it or not and so I started to learn
00:06:15 00:06:18 a lot in a short period of time
00:06:17 00:06:20 and that's actually when I started to do
00:06:18 00:06:22 self development because I started
00:06:20 00:06:25 learning so much and I became kind of
00:06:22 00:06:27 addicted to the idea of learning and I
00:06:25 00:06:29 really enjoyed learning new things every
00:06:27 00:06:32 day and I yeah I started to get addicted
00:06:29 00:06:34 to the process of just growing and
00:06:32 00:06:37 learning so that's when the self
00:06:34 00:06:39 development kicked in so I started with
00:06:37 00:06:42 a product so that was a cognacs punch
00:06:39 00:06:43 very small product I picked it because
00:06:42 00:06:46 it was small lightweight it was very
00:06:43 00:06:48 cheap I really didn't have much money I
00:06:46 00:06:51 mean again for a college student
00:06:48 00:06:53 my first inventory was $300 I actually
00:06:51 00:06:56 was less than $300 at self invoice it's
00:06:53 00:06:58 like two hundred and eighty something so
00:06:56 00:07:00 that was how much my first inventory
00:06:58 00:07:02 costs because these products they were
00:07:00 00:07:04 so small they costed like a couple
00:07:02 00:07:06 pennies each and I would sell them for
00:07:04 00:07:09 $10 on Amazon so really good profit
00:07:06 00:07:10 margins but for those watching this
00:07:09 00:07:12 video today you guys are gonna say oh
00:07:10 00:07:13 you know that doesn't work today and
00:07:12 00:07:15 it's true you know what works for me
00:07:13 00:07:17 three years ago isn't gonna work for you
00:07:15 00:07:19 today you know you're very it's gonna be
00:07:17 00:07:21 very hard to find your first inventory
00:07:19 00:07:23 around $300 that just doesn't exist
00:07:21 00:07:25 anymore and it's gonna be you know you
00:07:23 00:07:27 don't want to sell a product that's ten
00:07:25 00:07:28 dollars because if you sell a product
00:07:27 00:07:32 that's ten dollars now it becomes an
00:07:28 00:07:35 add-on item on Amazon and you can't
00:07:32 00:07:37 basically check out that item until you
00:07:35 00:07:40 buy more things on Amazon as a as a
00:07:37 00:07:42 buyer so it's not good from selling
00:07:40 00:07:44 perspective anyways having said that
00:07:42 00:07:48 that was my first product experience
00:07:44 00:07:51 started selling and it was cool it was
00:07:48 00:07:53 cool for me to have a product that was I
00:07:51 00:07:54 created this product you know I didn't
00:07:53 00:07:57 really create the actual physical
00:07:54 00:07:59 contact sponge but the product was mine
00:07:57 00:08:02 I had my own logo my own brand name my
00:07:59 00:08:04 special packaging that I customized and
00:08:02 00:08:08 I decided on and it was cool to actually
00:08:04 00:08:10 have like the samples in my hand and to
00:08:08 00:08:11 you know be able to give them to my
00:08:10 00:08:14 friends and family and I was proud of it
00:08:11 00:08:15 and so it was very exciting for me and
00:08:14 00:08:18 so I started making some sales and I
00:08:15 00:08:21 brought I got up to you around I think
00:08:18 00:08:23 it was like $5,000 a month maybe less no
00:08:21 00:08:26 maybe a thousand dollars a month I can't
00:08:23 00:08:27 remember so long ago but anyways it was
00:08:26 00:08:29 a significant amount of sales for
00:08:27 00:08:32 someone who's never made money
00:08:29 00:08:34 that online and so it really encouraged
00:08:32 00:08:35 me but the problem with that product is
00:08:34 00:08:38 that it was a trend it was a training
00:08:35 00:08:40 product and the trend kind of died down
00:08:38 00:08:41 and then my sales dropped and I didn't
00:08:40 00:08:44 know why and I said what am I doing
00:08:41 00:08:46 wrong and so at that point in time I
00:08:44 00:08:49 decided okay let me look for another
00:08:46 00:08:52 product so having the experience that I
00:08:49 00:08:53 had I had gone through the course that
00:08:52 00:08:55 meets inside a machine course and so I
00:08:53 00:08:58 knew how to privately a little product
00:08:55 00:08:59 so now when I repeat the process it
00:08:58 00:09:02 becomes a lot easier because you already
00:08:59 00:09:05 know all the steps and so now all I had
00:09:02 00:09:08 to do was pick a product and then I knew
00:09:05 00:09:10 what to do with it and so for me picking
00:09:08 00:09:12 my second product it was kind of like
00:09:10 00:09:14 you know what something I like and so I
00:09:12 00:09:18 looked into my makeup bag and I saw this
00:09:14 00:09:20 3d fiber mascara the big brand at the
00:09:18 00:09:23 time was Union which they're kind of
00:09:20 00:09:25 like a multi-level marketing cosmetiks
00:09:23 00:09:28 business but they were really really big
00:09:25 00:09:31 at the time again another trend and so I
00:09:28 00:09:33 thought oh it'd be so cool to private
00:09:31 00:09:36 label this product and make it my
00:09:33 00:09:38 product because I love having long
00:09:36 00:09:41 lashes and I would really use this
00:09:38 00:09:42 product myself now you know looking back
00:09:41 00:09:45 at the way that I was thinking I
00:09:42 00:09:46 wouldn't recommend using that train of
00:09:45 00:09:48 thought nowadays when you guys are
00:09:46 00:09:50 sourcing products because you want to go
00:09:48 00:09:51 where the market is you don't just want
00:09:50 00:09:53 a source a product that you think is
00:09:51 00:09:55 awesome and exciting and the product
00:09:53 00:09:57 that you would use you want to find out
00:09:55 00:10:01 what the market wants to buy and what
00:09:57 00:10:03 the market desires and so anyways I
00:10:01 00:10:06 didn't know that at the time and I
00:10:03 00:10:09 sourced the product and I called it wow
00:10:06 00:10:11 lash because at that time I started
00:10:09 00:10:13 working in a bank and at the bank people
00:10:11 00:10:15 would come up to my tail and because I
00:10:13 00:10:17 had this sample for the mascara I would
00:10:15 00:10:19 wear it everyday and people would come
00:10:17 00:10:22 up to me that wow your lashes are so
00:10:19 00:10:24 long and I was like oh wow that's a good
00:10:22 00:10:27 name for the mascara if I have it called
00:10:24 00:10:29 wow lash so I was really proud of that I
00:10:27 00:10:32 always tell people this story Wow lash
00:10:29 00:10:34 and so I made the logo with like the O
00:10:32 00:10:36 became an eye and it was really really
00:10:34 00:10:38 cute and I was really excited to receive
00:10:36 00:10:40 that and so you know when you're
00:10:38 00:10:41 passionate about what you do things
00:10:40 00:10:44 become effort
00:10:41 00:10:46 and so for me I just really enjoyed this
00:10:44 00:10:49 whole process of sourcing products and
00:10:46 00:10:51 so I searched the mascara you know it
00:10:49 00:10:53 was good it started selling on Amazon
00:10:51 00:10:55 it's super awesome at the time I know
00:10:53 00:10:56 you guys are if you guys are selling now
00:10:55 00:10:59 you'll see that you know the beauty
00:10:56 00:11:01 categories a gated category and at the
00:10:59 00:11:03 time it wasn't so you know three years
00:11:01 00:11:06 ago it's a lot easier to do a lot of
00:11:03 00:11:09 things that I did and you know with the
00:11:06 00:11:10 mascara it is a product that you do have
00:11:09 00:11:14 a risk of liability you're putting
00:11:10 00:11:16 something on your eye near your eyeball
00:11:14 00:11:18 that can potentially go in your eye and
00:11:16 00:11:20 cause reaction and people who have very
00:11:18 00:11:24 sensitive eyes they can have a very
00:11:20 00:11:28 serious reaction to that in fact one of
00:11:24 00:11:31 my best friends she sampled my product
00:11:28 00:11:34 and it was so bad her whole eye turned
00:11:31 00:11:37 bright red it was really really bad she
00:11:34 00:11:39 had a severe allergic reaction to it and
00:11:37 00:11:42 somehow it was only happened to her and
00:11:39 00:11:43 none of my customers for many many many
00:11:42 00:11:46 months never had any problems with the
00:11:43 00:11:48 product only my best friend so I felt
00:11:46 00:11:50 bad about that but that just shows the
00:11:48 00:11:52 risk that you're putting herself in you
00:11:50 00:11:54 know if she was a customer she could
00:11:52 00:11:55 have potentially sued me or she could
00:11:54 00:11:58 have gotten me a lot of trouble you know
00:11:55 00:12:00 so you definitely have to do your due
00:11:58 00:12:02 diligence understand the risk the
00:12:00 00:12:04 liability risk with products like that
00:12:02 00:12:07 cosmetik products parks that you ingest
00:12:04 00:12:09 put on her skin putting your eyes you
00:12:07 00:12:12 know anything like that and so I didn't
00:12:09 00:12:14 again being so new didn't realize that
00:12:12 00:12:16 at the time and it wasn't until that
00:12:14 00:12:17 happened with my best friend that I
00:12:16 00:12:20 actually got the scariness oh my god
00:12:17 00:12:23 this is serious so I kind of wanted to
00:12:20 00:12:26 get out of that and the product trends
00:12:23 00:12:28 started to die down anyways because it
00:12:26 00:12:31 was just again a trend so it started to
00:12:28 00:12:35 die down so I just had to start making a
00:12:31 00:12:37 new product and oh yeah I think at that
00:12:35 00:12:40 time is when I went to my first ASM
00:12:37 00:12:42 event no it was at the time of the
00:12:40 00:12:44 cognacs sponge actually so during the
00:12:42 00:12:46 time that I had the chronic sponge
00:12:44 00:12:48 product I went to an ASM live event and
00:12:46 00:12:50 these events basically are events that
00:12:48 00:12:52 the amazing selling machine hosts if you
00:12:50 00:12:53 purchase the course you're allowed to go
00:12:52 00:12:55 to them they have them every
00:12:53 00:12:57 and they basically have this big event
00:12:55 00:12:59 where they have speakers that come in
00:12:57 00:13:01 and you learn a lot about selling on
00:12:59 00:13:03 Amazon a lot that you won't find on
00:13:01 00:13:04 Google or YouTube or you won't find in
00:13:03 00:13:06 the course but you can also network with
00:13:04 00:13:09 people and you meet a lot of people so
00:13:06 00:13:12 it was when I went to that event that I
00:13:09 00:13:15 really got excited about this business
00:13:12 00:13:16 because prior to that my goal was you
00:13:15 00:13:19 know I'll make a couple hundred dollars
00:13:16 00:13:21 and I'm happy or I'll make a couple
00:13:19 00:13:23 thousand dollars and I'd be super happy
00:13:21 00:13:25 and then that could support me for the
00:13:23 00:13:27 rest of my life but when I went to that
00:13:25 00:13:30 event I actually saw the potential I
00:13:27 00:13:33 actually realized that oh this is a lot
00:13:30 00:13:36 better than I thought and I went to the
00:13:33 00:13:37 event and I met people that were doing
00:13:36 00:13:39 ten thousand dollars a month and they
00:13:37 00:13:41 started selling a few months ago and
00:13:39 00:13:42 then there's speakers that were doing a
00:13:41 00:13:43 hundred thousand dollars a month and
00:13:42 00:13:46 speakers who were doing million dollars
00:13:43 00:13:48 in loans which is crazy and you know
00:13:46 00:13:50 prior to that I didn't even know that
00:13:48 00:13:51 was possible like I would I would always
00:13:50 00:13:54 assume that anyone who would say
00:13:51 00:13:57 something like that is you know fraud
00:13:54 00:13:59 dishonest scam and but when you're here
00:13:57 00:14:02 you know you know first person from
00:13:59 00:14:06 someone you actually trust it's really
00:14:02 00:14:09 just I open aid and so I heard that and
00:14:06 00:14:11 I I like I remember like I had
00:14:09 00:14:12 goosebumps in my arms and I said oh my
00:14:11 00:14:15 gosh
00:14:12 00:14:18 like I have so much opportunity thank
00:14:15 00:14:21 God I live in this day and age where we
00:14:18 00:14:23 have so many opportunities and I just
00:14:21 00:14:25 got really excited and that's really
00:14:23 00:14:27 what pushed me and motivated me to
00:14:25 00:14:29 pursue the rest of my business it wasn't
00:14:27 00:14:32 until I went to that live event then I
00:14:29 00:14:34 started to have set higher goals for
00:14:32 00:14:36 myself before it was like $2,000 it's my
00:14:34 00:14:38 ultimate goal and I'd be happy with that
00:14:36 00:14:41 but that then I realized I'm limiting
00:14:38 00:14:44 myself when I have it in my mind I'm
00:14:41 00:14:46 like focus on $2,000 $2,000 $2,000 well
00:14:44 00:14:49 I'm never gonna make more than $2,000
00:14:46 00:14:51 I'm not opening my mind up to to making
00:14:49 00:14:54 more and so then I raised my standards I
00:14:51 00:14:56 said $10,000 and then you know many
00:14:54 00:14:58 months later I said $20,000 and you know
00:14:56 00:15:00 the goals would higher and higher and
00:14:58 00:15:02 higher and now every month you know my
00:15:00 00:15:03 goal changes and it's really exciting
00:15:02 00:15:05 and I believe truly believe that
00:15:03 00:15:07 whatever you set your mind
00:15:05 00:15:09 you can achieve so if you're setting
00:15:07 00:15:12 your mind as low as $2,000 great you can
00:15:09 00:15:15 achieve that but set it you know the
00:15:12 00:15:18 sky's the limit really be realistik but
00:15:15 00:15:20 the sky is the limit I think so yeah
00:15:18 00:15:22 that was an important part of my journey
00:15:20 00:15:25 so I had to start selling a new product
00:15:22 00:15:27 but I kind of like took my time with it
00:15:25 00:15:29 because I was really really busy like
00:15:27 00:15:31 this business kept me really busy cuz I
00:15:29 00:15:33 was still in school and work and then
00:15:31 00:15:35 this business and I just don't really
00:15:33 00:15:38 have a lot of free time so I was just
00:15:35 00:15:41 like no just go stand you know whatever
00:15:38 00:15:43 happens happens and I didn't do any like
00:15:41 00:15:46 extensive product research for this next
00:15:43 00:15:48 product instead what I decided to do was
00:15:46 00:15:51 look at what I bought on Amazon so I
00:15:48 00:15:54 wasn't a big Amazon shopper because I
00:15:51 00:15:57 lived in Canada and in Canada we had
00:15:54 00:15:59 amazon.ca but it's not really that good
00:15:57 00:16:01 because they don't have that many
00:15:59 00:16:02 products so if I wanted to buy something
00:16:01 00:16:05 I would have to ship it to the border
00:16:02 00:16:07 from amazon.com and then dry my car to
00:16:05 00:16:09 the border and pick it up and so I was
00:16:07 00:16:11 like okay you know someone want like
00:16:09 00:16:13 myself what am i buying on Amazon and so
00:16:11 00:16:18 I saw that I was repetitively buying
00:16:13 00:16:20 waist trainers and so I started to look
00:16:18 00:16:22 into waist trainers and it didn't seem
00:16:20 00:16:24 like it was actually a product that was
00:16:22 00:16:25 smart to source and actually if you look
00:16:24 00:16:28 at them now it's very high competition
00:16:25 00:16:30 not a great niche to get into but I
00:16:28 00:16:32 wanted to do it anyways because it's a
00:16:30 00:16:34 product that I personally had success
00:16:32 00:16:37 with and it's a product that I was very
00:16:34 00:16:39 confident that I could market and I
00:16:37 00:16:41 think that's the only reason that I
00:16:39 00:16:43 succeeded with it not because the mark
00:16:41 00:16:45 the product is great on Amazon not
00:16:43 00:16:47 because it's like low competition or
00:16:45 00:16:49 anything like that it's just because I
00:16:47 00:16:51 couldn't market the product because I
00:16:49 00:16:53 had the results I have been waste
00:16:51 00:16:56 training I had seen great results from
00:16:53 00:16:58 it and so I realized that wow this could
00:16:56 00:16:59 really be good and so I kind of just
00:16:58 00:17:01 went on a limb and everyone told me not
00:16:59 00:17:03 to this product even you know my
00:17:01 00:17:05 boyfriend at the time he told me not to
00:17:03 00:17:07 do the product and everyone's like it's
00:17:05 00:17:08 just too complicating because not only
00:17:07 00:17:10 do you have to have all these different
00:17:08 00:17:11 sizes but you also have to have
00:17:10 00:17:15 different colors to suit different
00:17:11 00:17:17 people's styles and I just went for it
00:17:15 00:17:17 anyways I don't know why but I did and
00:17:17 00:17:21 I've had
00:17:17 00:17:21 I did so I started to source that
00:17:21 00:17:24 product
00:17:21 00:17:25 I found a manufacturer basically because
00:17:24 00:17:27 I had so much experience with waste
00:17:25 00:17:29 training I told the manufacturer can you
00:17:27 00:17:31 change this and this and this and this
00:17:29 00:17:34 and luckily the manufacturer was willing
00:17:31 00:17:36 to work with me the end product did cost
00:17:34 00:17:39 me more but because I had the con
00:17:36 00:17:41 expunged and the mascara I was making
00:17:39 00:17:44 sales from those and I reinvested that
00:17:41 00:17:46 profit into the waist trainer and so I
00:17:44 00:17:50 started to get my samples I loved it
00:17:46 00:17:53 started selling only one color pink and
00:17:50 00:17:56 a few different sizes on amazon.com and
00:17:53 00:17:57 I started to get reviews and based on
00:17:56 00:17:59 the reviews I would improve the product
00:17:57 00:18:01 so every time I would place a new order
00:17:59 00:18:03 with my manufacturer I would improve the
00:18:01 00:18:05 product quality because of course it's
00:18:03 00:18:07 like the higher quality your product is
00:18:05 00:18:09 the better your customers experience and
00:18:07 00:18:11 the better your customers experience the
00:18:09 00:18:13 better everything is for your business
00:18:11 00:18:15 and so I wanted the customer to have the
00:18:13 00:18:17 best experience possible and I still do
00:18:15 00:18:19 like up until this day every time I
00:18:17 00:18:21 place a new order we have something new
00:18:19 00:18:22 with the product we're always tweaking
00:18:21 00:18:26 it we're always changing it based on the
00:18:22 00:18:28 customers experience so I started to do
00:18:26 00:18:30 that and the sales happen naturally I
00:18:28 00:18:32 think you know it's just crazy there's
00:18:30 00:18:34 just a lot of natural sales I never
00:18:32 00:18:36 really spent money on advertising to be
00:18:34 00:18:38 honest up and I still don't spend any
00:18:36 00:18:41 money on advertising I just have social
00:18:38 00:18:42 media and YouTube so it was really
00:18:41 00:18:44 really interesting and I think it's just
00:18:42 00:18:46 because the quality was good so there
00:18:44 00:18:48 was positive reviews natural profit of
00:18:46 00:18:50 reviews based on quality and yeah it was
00:18:48 00:18:52 kind of like the ripple effect and
00:18:50 00:18:54 things grew from there every time I
00:18:52 00:18:55 would make more money with my Amazon
00:18:54 00:18:57 sales than the profits I would reinvest
00:18:55 00:19:00 into the business and I would buy more
00:18:57 00:19:02 inventory and my biggest problem was
00:19:00 00:19:05 that I would sell out I would be out of
00:19:02 00:19:08 stok and so that was my biggest problem
00:19:05 00:19:11 for a long time actually very long time
00:19:08 00:19:13 actually and it's because is there's
00:19:11 00:19:16 just more demand than I could afford you
00:19:13 00:19:17 know for someone I never had took out
00:19:16 00:19:19 any loans I never borrowed money from
00:19:17 00:19:21 any woman I literally started this
00:19:19 00:19:23 business with the $300 I invest in the
00:19:21 00:19:25 connieyc sponge and I've reinvested
00:19:23 00:19:27 everything since then so I sold
00:19:25 00:19:30 reinvested sold reinvested and I
00:19:27 00:19:32 the time it still wasn't paying myself
00:19:30 00:19:34 so I wasn't really paying myself any
00:19:32 00:19:36 money I was basically just reinvesting
00:19:34 00:19:38 all the profits in the business and so
00:19:36 00:19:40 for someone who's doing it that way
00:19:38 00:19:42 that's the slow route you know for
00:19:40 00:19:43 someone if you're not taking it alone if
00:19:42 00:19:45 you're not borrowing money from anyone
00:19:43 00:19:47 friends or family or anything like that
00:19:45 00:19:49 it can take time to build up that income
00:19:47 00:19:52 so that you can buy a bigger amount of
00:19:49 00:19:54 inventory and but I was fine with that
00:19:52 00:19:56 because I I wanted to do this on my own
00:19:54 00:19:58 this was it's a little bit of a you know
00:19:56 00:20:00 like I just wanted to do it on my own
00:19:58 00:20:03 that's basically how when it comes down
00:20:00 00:20:05 to and so it was a little bit slower but
00:20:03 00:20:07 eventually I stopped getting out of
00:20:05 00:20:10 stok which is great and got an
00:20:07 00:20:13 inventory management person so they did
00:20:10 00:20:15 give me inventory reports bi-weekly so I
00:20:13 00:20:19 know when to place an order which was
00:20:15 00:20:21 something I struggled with and yeah so
00:20:19 00:20:24 yeah I've worked it up and then I got
00:20:21 00:20:26 you about I think I don't know what at
00:20:24 00:20:29 what point I started to pay myself but
00:20:26 00:20:32 basically I started to pay myself after
00:20:29 00:20:35 you know I think it was about a year and
00:20:32 00:20:38 a half ago that I maybe more two years
00:20:35 00:20:41 ago I'm so bad but I started to pay
00:20:38 00:20:43 myself eventually and then after a few
00:20:41 00:20:45 months of paying myself I started to I
00:20:43 00:20:47 quit my job you know so happy to quit my
00:20:45 00:20:51 job oh my gosh I was the best feeling
00:20:47 00:20:52 ever actually quit my so I was working
00:20:51 00:20:54 at the bank and I quit my job at the
00:20:52 00:20:57 bank because I decided to go on a four
00:20:54 00:20:59 month vacation to Thailand and then when
00:20:57 00:21:01 I came back I got a job as a server at
00:20:59 00:21:03 another restaurant and I did that for a
00:21:01 00:21:05 while while I was working on my business
00:21:03 00:21:06 and I actually stopped doing school at
00:21:05 00:21:10 that time so when I went to Thailand I
00:21:06 00:21:11 stopped doing school because you know I
00:21:10 00:21:13 was going travelling but I actually
00:21:11 00:21:15 never returned to school after that
00:21:13 00:21:17 because once I came back my business
00:21:15 00:21:19 started to grow more I started working
00:21:17 00:21:21 part-time as a server I didn't have time
00:21:19 00:21:22 for school anymore I wanted to focus on
00:21:21 00:21:25 my business I saw the potential that
00:21:22 00:21:27 right and so I started to do more of my
00:21:25 00:21:30 business stuff and eventually I quit
00:21:27 00:21:31 that job as a server and I remember I
00:21:30 00:21:32 was working there and they're like so
00:21:31 00:21:35 why are you quitting and I'm like I'm
00:21:32 00:21:36 gonna pursue my business like oh really
00:21:35 00:21:39 your business makes enough money for you
00:21:36 00:21:39 to live off of I remember I people ask
00:21:39 00:21:41 me that all that
00:21:39 00:21:43 I'm whenever I tell them I have I sell
00:21:41 00:21:45 products online they were like oh really
00:21:43 00:21:47 is that something you can afford and you
00:21:45 00:21:51 can live off of that like oh yeah don't
00:21:47 00:21:53 worry I'm good so yeah so I quit that
00:21:51 00:21:55 and then I started to you know pay
00:21:53 00:21:57 myself more and then I moved out and I
00:21:55 00:22:00 went full-time in my business and yeah
00:21:57 00:22:02 it's like now you know my business
00:22:00 00:22:04 I moved my business not just on Amazon I
00:22:02 00:22:06 lived it primarily on my website is
00:22:04 00:22:07 where we make all the sales now my
00:22:06 00:22:08 website I have so many different
00:22:07 00:22:11 products I actually don't even know how
00:22:08 00:22:13 many products we have so many different
00:22:11 00:22:15 SKUs but that gives people variety so
00:22:13 00:22:17 they have options if they want to buy
00:22:15 00:22:18 something to suit different needs they
00:22:17 00:22:22 have the options to do that but we still
00:22:18 00:22:25 have the main products on Amazon and
00:22:22 00:22:27 yeah so I went from like you know zero
00:22:25 00:22:30 you know my income changes every month
00:22:27 00:22:33 depending on the sales but it ranges
00:22:30 00:22:35 from fifty to eighty thousand a month in
00:22:33 00:22:38 sales which is really really exciting
00:22:35 00:22:39 it's cool and you know we're building
00:22:38 00:22:42 our team which I'm really excited about
00:22:39 00:22:44 I love every one that works with me
00:22:42 00:22:47 because they're all awesome they're all
00:22:44 00:22:51 women and we are super we're small
00:22:47 00:22:51 there's only four people but yeah it's
00:22:51 00:22:54 really cool
00:22:51 00:22:58 basically I now travel the world with my
00:22:54 00:22:59 computer I moved to Panama and I travel
00:22:58 00:23:02 the world and I do things on my own
00:22:59 00:23:04 clock and I'm just forever grateful and
00:23:02 00:23:07 I'm just excited I have so much passion
00:23:04 00:23:09 to continue my business you know when I
00:23:07 00:23:12 take too much time away I feel eager to
00:23:09 00:23:14 get back to work so you know I think
00:23:12 00:23:16 overall when I think about my health yet
00:23:14 00:23:19 like I put more hours in my work now I
00:23:16 00:23:22 spend more time working now than I did
00:23:19 00:23:25 at my day job but it's time well spent
00:23:22 00:23:28 because I'm investing this time into my
00:23:25 00:23:30 brand and a brand that is growing and
00:23:28 00:23:32 it's an asset you know eventually if I
00:23:30 00:23:34 want I could sell my brand which is
00:23:32 00:23:37 super exciting a huge opportunity there
00:23:34 00:23:40 so I'm not working just for a paycheck
00:23:37 00:23:43 I'm working for a future and I'm really
00:23:40 00:23:48 excited about it and yeah it's super
00:23:43 00:23:50 awesome and really really grateful and
00:23:48 00:23:52 yeah just continuing to grow and just
00:23:50 00:23:53 expanding you to different opportunities
00:23:52 00:23:55 you know things like I share on my
00:23:53 00:23:56 YouTube channel there's affiliate
00:23:55 00:23:58 marketing and there's just so many
00:23:56 00:24:00 different things that you can tie into
00:23:58 00:24:04 this type of business which is really
00:24:00 00:24:06 really cool and yeah and so now I kind
00:24:04 00:24:08 of help people with their businesses on
00:24:06 00:24:11 Amazon I help them reach their goals
00:24:08 00:24:13 because I have the first-hand experience

00:24:24 00:24:28 I just messed up total you or I want to
00:24:27 00:24:31 give up because I'm so stressed on the
00:24:28 00:24:34 phone with Amazon customer support for
00:24:31 00:24:36 15 hours like you guys don't see that
00:24:34 00:24:38 part of it but that's what's made me who
00:24:36 00:24:40 I am today and it's helped me because I
