In this video, we'll be doing a brief overview of the Shopify dashboard for beginners.
- Development Stores: This is where you can create stores, build them, and sell products. You can create as many stores as you want, and even show them to potential buyers.
- Managed Stores: If you're a freelancer, you can request permission to manage other people's stores here. This is a handy feature for those who manage multiple stores for clients.
- Referred Stores: This is where you can see the stores you've referred to Shopify, and take part in their affiliate program.
- Affiliate Tools: You can market your affiliate link on your website, blog, or social media accounts.

What is a Shopify Collaborator Account?
- A store owner uses a collaborator account to provide access to Shopify partners
- Collaborator accounts allow Shopify partners to access specific sections of a store to perform their assigned tasks
- Collaborator accounts are different from staff accounts and are not counted towards the staff limit of a Shopify store
How to Send a Collaborator Access Request:
1. Log in to your Shopify partner account
2. From the dashboard, click on Stores and then Add store
3. Select Managed store under Store type and enter the store URL
4. Choose the permissions you need to perform your tasks or select all permissions
5. Add an optional message and click Save
6. Your collaborator access request will be sent and will show as Pending until the store owner accepts it
How to Accept a Collaborator Access Request:
1. Log in to your Shopify store
2. Go to Settings and then Users and permissions
3. Scroll down to Collaborators and click on the notification for the review request
4. Edit the permissions if necessary and click Accept request or Reject request

How to Create Your First Shopify Development Store
Creating a Shopify store is a great way to start selling products online. In this article, we'll show you how to create your first development store, which is a normal Shopify store.
Steps to Create a Development Store:
1. Click on the Development stores button in your Shopify partners account.
2. Click on the Create store button.
3. Fill in the login information and store details.
4. Choose the purpose of your store.
5. Choose a name for your store that is clear and in line with what you're selling.
6. Add a strong password.
7. Fill in all the mandatory information for the address.
8. Click on Enter my store to access your store dashboard.
- If you're building a store for a client, choose the Build a new store for a client purpose.
- When choosing a domain name, make sure it's not too far from your store name.
- Shopify tries to keep the usability of the platform consistent, so changes to the dashboard are usually not drastic.

How to Request Access to your Client's Store
Hey everyone, I'm Pete from Shopify and in this video, we're going to show you how to request a collaborator account so that you can gain access to your client store.
What is a Collaborator Account?
Collaborator accounts provide Shopify partners access to a particular Shopify admin directly from your partner dashboard. In order to gain access to a store, you must send the request to the client and they would need to approve it. They have full control over the permissions and will grant you access to only the sections of the store that they want you to see.
Steps to Request Access to a Client Store as a Shopify Partner:
1. Log into your partner account dashboard
2. Click on Stores in the top left corner of the menu
3. Click on Add Store
4. Pick a store type for collaborator access and choose Manage Store
5. Enter the my Shopify URL of the store you wish to gain access to
6. Enter an access code if required
7. Click on the boxes for the sections of the store you need access to, or choose full access if necessary
8. Include a message in your request if desired
9. Hit save to send off the request
10. The store owner will receive an email notification prompting them to accept or deny the request
11. Once the client accepts the request, you will have access to their store from within your partner dashboard
- It is always best for the security and experience of your client to only request access to what is needed
- If a previous request was denied by the merchant, a new one will need to be sent before it can be accepted

Before we dive into the future of commerce, I want to remind partners that we're offering a special promotion until November 19th of this year, where you can earn one and a half times the standard revenue share when you refer merchants in some of our international countries, namely France, Germany, Singapore, and Japan.
Commerce is quickly shifting global, and we're seeing some interesting trends. 70% of e-commerce growth in 2018 happened outside of North America. By 2020, alternative payment methods will make up over 50% of purchases made by customers. By 2022, we expect 20% of all e-commerce sales across the globe to be cross-border.
As the Director of International Markets, my team and I are constantly evaluating which markets, languages, and local nuances we should pay attention to and improve on for the benefit of our merchants. We're looking for opportunities that will help us realize scale both in accessibility and extensibility as the future changes and as we want to extend these to new markets.
