Apart from that, I am pretty frugal and don't have any materialistic wants or needs.

The answer is, it depends. There is no guarantee that you will make money or lose money. It can take a long time if you don't know what you are doing, and there is no plan you are following. However, if you have a plan, know what you are doing, and follow a proven strategy, you can succeed.
