Hello everyone and welcome back to this series where we are building a Shopify app together. The app we're building is a simple product updater, and in this part two, we're going to set up our API routes on the server and start working with the REST and GraphQL APIs.

1. Verifying Sessions:

- Any API endpoints placed after the verify request middleware will require an active session.

- The load current session method is called to make sure that an active session is available.

- Shopify provides connectors for session storage. The template we're using comes with a SQLite database and is using the SQLite session storage connector made by Shopify.

2. Creating Products:

- The products count endpoint uses the REST API to get the total number of products in a store.

- The products create endpoint uses the GraphQL API to create new products.

- We can add a random product image and description to the products using the image and description HTML fields.

- We can test the product create endpoint by clicking on the populate products button in the app.

3. Fetching Products:

- We'll create a new endpoint called API products to fetch the first 10 products in the store.

- We'll use the GraphQL client to query for the ID and title of each product.

- We'll test the fetch products function by calling client query with the Fetch products query object.
