00:00:11 00:00:15 products so today for the very first

00:00:24 00:00:29 business back in may 2020 at an all-time
00:00:27 00:00:30 low point i had spent three years living
00:00:29 00:00:32 in los angeles starting a couple
00:00:30 00:00:34 different businesses and most of them
00:00:32 00:00:36 failed then i had to come back to
00:00:34 00:00:38 florida and live with my parents again
00:00:36 00:00:40 but on my last day in la probably one of
00:00:38 00:00:42 my saddest days of my life i decided to
00:00:40 00:00:44 start a brand new store in hopes of
00:00:42 00:00:46 finding a winning product and getting
00:00:44 00:00:48 back on my feet and now for the first
00:00:46 00:00:51 time let's actually take a look at the
00:00:48 00:00:54 website that i use to test products this
00:00:51 00:00:56 is the exact hybrid store that i use to
00:00:54 00:00:57 test products and ultimately find the
00:00:56 00:01:00 winning product that i'm still selling
00:00:57 00:01:02 to this day as you can see it is a clean
00:01:00 00:01:05 branded website primarily focused on
00:01:02 00:01:07 home decor we had all kinds of products
00:01:05 00:01:09 on here at the start none of them are
00:01:07 00:01:11 here now because we're really only
00:01:09 00:01:13 focused on that one product obviously
00:01:11 00:01:15 but at the time we had a bunch of
00:01:13 00:01:16 products on here and i was testing new
00:01:15 00:01:18 products every single day let's have a
00:01:16 00:01:20 look at the first two months of this
00:01:18 00:01:22 brand so ultimately what i ended up
00:01:20 00:01:24 doing with that hybrid store was testing
00:01:22 00:01:26 products so in the first two months you
00:01:24 00:01:28 can see i tested a couple products some
00:01:26 00:01:30 were getting sales but nothing was
00:01:28 00:01:33 really popping off the highest we had
00:01:30 00:01:35 gotten was 570 in a day and then if you
00:01:33 00:01:38 spring forward to the next month you're
00:01:35 00:01:41 gonna see that this is when i actually
00:01:38 00:01:43 found the winning product that i'm still
00:01:41 00:01:45 selling to this day so this was the
00:01:43 00:01:47 month that i officially found my product
00:01:45 00:01:49 at the time i had seen a facebook ad
00:01:47 00:01:51 with like nine million views running
00:01:49 00:01:53 this product up and the ad looked
00:01:51 00:01:54 horrible so of course i tried to make a
00:01:53 00:01:56 better ad and then i launched it on
00:01:54 00:01:58 facebook almost instantly this product
00:01:56 00:02:00 started taking off and that's when i
00:01:58 00:02:02 knew it was time to go all in in august
00:02:00 00:02:04 of 2020 i decided to completely scrap
00:02:02 00:02:06 the hybrid store and rebrand this
00:02:04 00:02:08 business to focus on that one product
00:02:06 00:02:10 and as you'll see that decision really
00:02:08 00:02:13 paid off because over the next three
00:02:10 00:02:15 months we went on to sell over 200 000
00:02:13 00:02:17 of this product and that's when i knew
00:02:15 00:02:19 that this was going to be something big
00:02:17 00:02:21 now before we get into the scaling phase
00:02:19 00:02:23 and tok about how i blew past 1 million
00:02:21 00:02:26 in sales in just a couple months

00:04:12 00:04:16 i made the decision and went all in on
00:04:14 00:04:19 this product business just started to
00:04:16 00:04:21 take off if we look at these next couple
00:04:19 00:04:23 of months after we branded the store
00:04:21 00:04:26 fully around the sleep band you're gonna
00:04:23 00:04:27 see the numbers jump up significantly we
00:04:26 00:04:29 were able to have our first hundred
00:04:27 00:04:31 thousand dollar month in december and
00:04:29 00:04:33 the following month we did a hundred and
00:04:31 00:04:35 eighty four thousand dollars in sales in
00:04:33 00:04:37 just one month and that was only about
00:04:35 00:04:39 seven months after starting this brand
00:04:37 00:04:41 the way we were able to achieve this was
00:04:39 00:04:44 a combination of three things first an
00:04:41 00:04:46 unrelenting focus on the branding
00:04:44 00:04:48 product quality and customer experience
00:04:46 00:04:50 making sure that anytime somebody bought
00:04:48 00:04:52 from sleep band they were gonna have a
00:04:50 00:04:54 good experience this was priority number
00:04:52 00:04:56 one because we needed people to be happy
00:04:54 00:04:59 for us to scale the second biggest thing
00:04:56 00:05:02 was that i made my own custom ads and i
00:04:59 00:05:05 was testing every single day testing new
00:05:02 00:05:08 audiences testing new ad copies testing
00:05:05 00:05:09 new videos it was a non-stop experiment
00:05:08 00:05:12 that allowed us to scale and get to that
00:05:09 00:05:14 next level of results and lastly around
00:05:12 00:05:16 november we decided to expand our
00:05:14 00:05:20 product lineup with the sleek band pro
00:05:16 00:05:23 this one is a full face mask but it has
00:05:20 00:05:25 the same thin speakers built into the
00:05:23 00:05:28 product adding this new product to our
00:05:25 00:05:30 lineup pretty much increased our aov by
00:05:28 00:05:32 like 20 30 percent and this allowed me
00:05:30 00:05:34 to scale the ads so much more
00:05:32 00:05:38 effectively it was only a matter of time
00:05:34 00:05:41 until we hit a million in sales and in
00:05:38 00:05:44 may of 2020 we officially had our first
00:05:41 00:05:46 million dollars in sales oh and by the
00:05:44 00:05:47 way that was in less than a year but
00:05:46 00:05:49 who's counting something else that
00:05:47 00:05:51 really helped me get to this level was
00:05:49 00:05:52 using youtube ads if you look at our
00:05:51 00:05:55 analytiks for this time last year you
00:05:52 00:05:57 can see that we made around 150 000 with
00:05:55 00:05:59 our youtube ads you know because they
00:05:57 00:06:00 don't track everything on here and over
00:05:59 00:06:03 the course of the year i went on to sell
00:06:00 00:06:05 over 300 000 worth of our products just
00:06:03 00:06:07 through youtube ads we are really
00:06:05 00:06:09 closing in on that two million dollar
00:06:07 00:06:11 mark for this business so now i want to
00:06:09 00:06:13 tok about how we surpassed one million
00:06:11 00:06:16 and kept it going because a lot of
00:06:13 00:06:18 stores hit that first mill and die off
00:06:16 00:06:21 afterwards you know most shopify stores
00:06:18 00:06:22 make that first bag and then die but why
00:06:21 00:06:24 because typically they don't care about
00:06:22 00:06:25 the customer at all the reason why sleep
00:06:24 00:06:27 bend has been able to survive for all
00:06:25 00:06:29 this time is because we've always kept
00:06:27 00:06:31 our number one focus on product quality
00:06:29 00:06:33 and customer experience aside from
00:06:31 00:06:36 marketing this is what truly grows a
00:06:33 00:06:38 business and in 2021 we took a lot of
00:06:36 00:06:39 feedback from our customers and
00:06:38 00:06:42 constantly worked on our product we've
00:06:39 00:06:43 gone through over 15 variations of our
00:06:42 00:06:45 product to reach the level that we're at
00:06:43 00:06:46 today and we're still continuing this
00:06:45 00:06:48 process and that's the real key to
00:06:46 00:06:51 scaling past seven figures now the
00:06:48 00:06:52 remaining 800 000 or so in sales came
00:06:51 00:06:55 from a few different channels let's
00:06:52 00:06:57 break them down 60 of our sales come
00:06:55 00:06:59 from paid ads so that includes facebook
00:06:57 00:07:01 instagram google and youtube 30 of the
00:06:59 00:07:04 sales actually come from organic and
00:07:01 00:07:05 direct traffic people just sharing our
00:07:04 00:07:07 brand people toking about our brand and
00:07:05 00:07:09 people searching it up and the last ten
00:07:07 00:07:11 percent come from email and sms i have
00:07:09 00:07:13 one girl that manages this whole channel
00:07:11 00:07:14 and she does an amazing job currently
00:07:13 00:07:16 this business is generating around a
00:07:14 00:07:18 thousand dollars a day pretty passively
00:07:16 00:07:20 like i toked about in my previous video
00:07:18 00:07:23 some days we go way higher some days we
00:07:20 00:07:25 go lower but overall the product is
00:07:23 00:07:26 selling consistently but my goal since
00:07:25 00:07:28 the beginning has been to build this
00:07:26 00:07:30 brand up and actually sell it i've been
00:07:28 00:07:31 working with a broker for the last five
00:07:30 00:07:33 months and we are making some real
