00:01:48 00:01:51 much saturation in enure you're
00:01:50 00:01:52 wondering like how am I gonna be able to
00:01:51 00:01:54 sell it if all my competitors are
00:01:52 00:01:56 already selling this product and here's
00:01:54 00:01:58 what makes my strategy and kind of
00:01:56 00:01:59 strategy that I share with my students
00:01:58 00:02:02 inside the Academy inside the inner
00:01:59 00:02:04 circle a different than everybody else
00:02:02 00:02:05 is right because if you're competing on
00:02:04 00:02:07 price guys and a lot of you guys
00:02:05 00:02:10 actually do compete on price and that's
00:02:07 00:02:12 like not a good place to be right those
00:02:10 00:02:13 of you that don't know this actually
00:02:12 00:02:14 used to sell on Amazon
00:02:13 00:02:16 and I still recommend people sell their
00:02:14 00:02:18 products on Amazon do plan to launch
00:02:16 00:02:19 untappd on Amazon but the problem with
00:02:18 00:02:21 Amazon is a lot of competitors right
00:02:19 00:02:22 let's say you want to sell you know
00:02:21 00:02:25 let's say you want to sell these
00:02:22 00:02:26 headphones right if you have AG your own
00:02:25 00:02:27 pair of headphones or you're gonna be
00:02:26 00:02:30 racing to the bottom with everybody else
00:02:27 00:02:32 right now now the reason Bose here right
00:02:30 00:02:33 Bose can charge whatever they want for
00:02:32 00:02:37 their headphones right why because they
00:02:33 00:02:39 started an amazing brand and they also
00:02:37 00:02:41 have an amazing offer okay now a lot of
00:02:39 00:02:42 you getting into e-commerce and drop
00:02:41 00:02:44 shipping in business are you're not
00:02:42 00:02:46 gonna have this brand loyalty like a
00:02:44 00:02:48 Bose headphones does right and I'm gonna
00:02:46 00:02:51 start there but you can get there right
00:02:48 00:02:52 that's what you can get there now yes
00:02:51 00:02:54 there are some downsides to starting
00:02:52 00:02:56 with drop shipping there are those cons
00:02:54 00:02:58 but the pros far outweigh them right you
00:02:56 00:03:00 get to have a low minimum cost of entry
00:02:58 00:03:02 you don't have to invest a ton of money
00:03:00 00:03:05 in inventory like an Amazon business but
00:03:02 00:03:07 in order to be able to compete against
00:03:05 00:03:09 other people in your niche especially if
00:03:07 00:03:11 you're selling on a Shopify store where
00:03:09 00:03:13 I or you're using a sales funnel for
00:03:11 00:03:15 your business the real way to stand out
00:03:13 00:03:18 in your marketplace is to actually craft
00:03:15 00:03:20 offers around your products okay right
00:03:18 00:03:23 and what is an offer while an offer is a
00:03:20 00:03:25 way for you to actually compete in the
00:03:23 00:03:26 marketplace without actually lowering
00:03:25 00:03:28 your price sounds confusing but let me
00:03:26 00:03:30 explain right there are two ways that
00:03:28 00:03:31 you can compete on price guys you can
00:03:30 00:03:32 lower your price right just like all the
00:03:31 00:03:35 Amazon sellers just like maybe you're
00:03:32 00:03:36 doing right now on your Shopify store
00:03:35 00:03:38 and a sales funnel and you think just
00:03:36 00:03:40 lower your price we'll bring you in more
00:03:38 00:03:41 customers yeah you know it will a lot of
00:03:40 00:03:44 times it will bring you more customers
00:03:41 00:03:46 but the problem with that strategy is
00:03:44 00:03:49 that you're not making any money right
00:03:46 00:03:50 you're not making any money right you're
00:03:49 00:03:52 not gonna be able to make enough money
00:03:50 00:03:54 to be able to hire team members to pay
00:03:52 00:03:56 yourself or your business reinvest back
00:03:54 00:03:57 money and advertising right and I don't
00:03:56 00:03:59 know about you but I want to make as
00:03:57 00:04:01 much money as I humanly possibly can
00:03:59 00:04:03 with as much margin as a humanly
00:04:01 00:04:06 possibly can okay so the other way to
00:04:03 00:04:08 compete with your customers is to
00:04:06 00:04:12 provide more value when you provide more
00:04:08 00:04:13 value to your customers right it interns
00:04:12 00:04:15 psychologically in your customers mind
00:04:13 00:04:17 makes them feel like they're already
00:04:15 00:04:19 getting an amazing deal all right let me
00:04:17 00:04:21 explain that for a second say two
00:04:19 00:04:23 companies are selling a fishing lure
00:04:21 00:04:25 right I use this example all the time
00:04:23 00:04:26 fishing is one of my niches I love
00:04:25 00:04:28 fishing
00:04:26 00:04:30 she's right you can buy it from this guy
00:04:28 00:04:31 that just sells you a fishing lure or
00:04:30 00:04:33 you can buy from this guy that maybe
00:04:31 00:04:35 gives you a fishing lure but other bonus
00:04:33 00:04:37 is inside right now some of you might be
00:04:35 00:04:38 think about bonuses Pete like it's not
00:04:37 00:04:41 just gonna add more margin isn't that
00:04:38 00:04:43 just gonna try giving me my product cost
00:04:41 00:04:46 higher not necessarily okay I love
00:04:43 00:04:48 adding information products right info
00:04:46 00:04:51 products to my product to my physical
00:04:48 00:04:53 product about fishing lure so that way I
00:04:51 00:04:56 can actually retain my margin at the
00:04:53 00:04:58 same cost as my competitors now what is
00:04:56 00:04:59 value what are these bonuses and
00:04:58 00:05:01 information products that you can add
00:04:59 00:05:03 into your dropshipping products well
00:05:01 00:05:06 things that you can put in there or
00:05:03 00:05:08 audio right audio right maybe there are
00:05:06 00:05:10 some podcast interviews that you have
00:05:08 00:05:13 done with experts in that specific niche
00:05:10 00:05:14 I had those in write a video maybe you
00:05:13 00:05:16 have some interviews that you did on
00:05:14 00:05:18 video with people maybe you you have
00:05:16 00:05:20 some videos of you using the product
00:05:18 00:05:22 successfully right other things can
00:05:20 00:05:23 include guides right there are tons of
00:05:22 00:05:25 different kinds of guides out there guys
00:05:23 00:05:26 for example and cook in the cooking
00:05:25 00:05:28 space right if you selling somebody
00:05:26 00:05:30 let's say I don't know like one of those
00:05:28 00:05:32 pizza stones or whatever that you keep
00:05:30 00:05:33 in your oven I only said that I don't
00:05:32 00:05:35 know why it came out but we just got one
00:05:33 00:05:37 of those all right and you keep it in
00:05:35 00:05:38 your oven you go like pizza on it it's
00:05:37 00:05:41 like the most useless thing in my
00:05:38 00:05:43 opinion but if I was selling those or if
00:05:41 00:05:45 I was selling that specific product
00:05:43 00:05:47 right what else would I logically that
00:05:45 00:05:49 person need well they probably want to
00:05:47 00:05:52 know how to cook some awesome pizza at
00:05:49 00:05:53 home I would assume right so what can I
00:05:52 00:05:56 add in there maybe I can put like a guy
00:05:53 00:05:57 together of you know some like five
00:05:56 00:05:58 recipes to make awesome different kinds
00:05:57 00:06:01 of pieces maybe a little video guide of
00:05:58 00:06:02 how to you know treat this this stone to
00:06:01 00:06:04 make it last years and years and years
00:06:02 00:06:07 right there's all these different kinds
00:06:04 00:06:09 of things that you can add in to really
00:06:07 00:06:11 increase that perceived value of the
00:06:09 00:06:13 product that's really the goal here guys
00:06:11 00:06:16 I really want you to take away from is
00:06:13 00:06:18 up the perceived value of your product
00:06:16 00:06:21 the perceived value has to at least be
00:06:18 00:06:22 like 3x what that person is paying a lot
00:06:21 00:06:25 of you guys want like that exactly
00:06:22 00:06:27 what's that exact number then I add that
00:06:25 00:06:29 that the perceived value has to be and
00:06:27 00:06:31 there is no exact number guys there is
00:06:29 00:06:32 none but you just need to know and this
00:06:31 00:06:35 is my rule of thumb give until it hurts
00:06:32 00:06:37 right give until it hurts I promise you
00:06:35 00:06:37 if you're giving more than you're taking
00:06:37 00:06:40 in
00:06:37 00:06:41 payment you will always always win right
00:06:40 00:06:44 there's an amazing book that I recommend
00:06:41 00:06:46 you pick up it's called the go Giver
00:06:44 00:06:48 and it gives you it goes over the five
00:06:46 00:06:51 principles to really succeed in life and
00:06:48 00:06:54 one of those is to always take always
00:06:51 00:06:56 give more than you take in payment and
00:06:54 00:06:59 that that line that that one law in that
00:06:56 00:07:01 book really stuck with me and I always
00:06:59 00:07:03 think of this and anything I do always
00:07:01 00:07:04 give more than you take in payment it's
00:07:03 00:07:07 a winning formula for anything you want
00:07:04 00:07:08 in life right like so for example when
00:07:07 00:07:10 you're selling these fish they don't
00:07:08 00:07:13 just try and be like selling selling
00:07:10 00:07:15 selling right provide value right and
00:07:13 00:07:17 value of course is in the eyes of the
00:07:15 00:07:19 beholder right now this is this kind of
00:07:17 00:07:21 leads me to our final point here on this
00:07:19 00:07:22 video and probably the most important
00:07:21 00:07:26 point at the point of this entire video
00:07:22 00:07:28 is you cannot create these things I'm
00:07:26 00:07:30 telling you if you don't know the person
00:07:28 00:07:33 you're selling to now some of you let's
00:07:30 00:07:35 say fishing you're gonna say I sell to
00:07:33 00:07:37 people that like fishing that's
00:07:35 00:07:38 impossible okay and I know this because
00:07:37 00:07:39 I know the niche the fishing niche is
00:07:38 00:07:41 massive
00:07:39 00:07:42 some of you might be in Fitness right
00:07:41 00:07:44 and you're saying I want to sell to
00:07:42 00:07:47 people that want to get fit it guys
00:07:44 00:07:49 those are so broad everybody wants to
00:07:47 00:07:51 get fit right everybody wants to get fit
00:07:49 00:07:53 there are billions of billions of people
00:07:51 00:07:55 in that like fishing you can't just do
00:07:53 00:07:58 that you have to pick that target market
00:07:55 00:07:59 out first so let me give you an example
00:07:58 00:08:02 if you're if I was going into the
00:07:59 00:08:04 fishing niche right now right I have two
00:08:02 00:08:05 choices really I can either go after the
00:08:04 00:08:08 beginner so I can go right after those
00:08:05 00:08:09 beginners that are just getting in right
00:08:08 00:08:11 think of it kind of like a wall right
00:08:09 00:08:13 here right like where people are just
00:08:11 00:08:15 getting started in something and they go
00:08:13 00:08:16 there in the beginning page and they're
00:08:15 00:08:18 always searching things on Google like
00:08:16 00:08:19 how to kind of fish for trout how to
00:08:18 00:08:20 fly-fish and they're there nerding out
00:08:19 00:08:22 on all these cool things that are
00:08:20 00:08:24 happening right you can position
00:08:22 00:08:26 yourself as that right you could be like
00:08:24 00:08:28 hey I'm gonna be the ads they see like
00:08:26 00:08:29 as far as getting a beginner fishing set
00:08:28 00:08:31 getting all these beginner things
00:08:29 00:08:32 teaching them all those things that they
00:08:31 00:08:35 need to know to be successful at
00:08:32 00:08:37 fly-fishing let's go say okay or you can
00:08:35 00:08:38 actually position yourself for like the
00:08:37 00:08:40 more intermediates right and I'm only
00:08:38 00:08:43 using beginner and intermediate because
00:08:40 00:08:45 experts are usually what I consider
00:08:43 00:08:46 experts in niches typically people that
00:08:45 00:08:48 are like sponsored by very big
00:08:46 00:08:49 businesses you can get there but it's a
00:08:48 00:08:51 whole different video and
00:08:49 00:08:52 for discussion so intermediate people
00:08:51 00:08:54 already that are already in they're
00:08:52 00:08:55 doing it right so people that already
00:08:54 00:08:57 you know fly fishing they know how to
00:08:55 00:09:00 fly fish those are usually the two
00:08:57 00:09:02 options that you have okay intermediates
00:09:00 00:09:03 they already know it the messaging the
00:09:02 00:09:04 bads that you're putting out there have
00:09:03 00:09:06 to be different that's definitely
00:09:04 00:09:08 specifically going after the person that
00:09:06 00:09:10 already knows how to fly fish versus in
00:09:08 00:09:12 cold traffic of somebody that's just
00:09:10 00:09:13 getting into five fish alright so
00:09:12 00:09:15 completely separate people these guys
00:09:13 00:09:17 already know how to tie flies on a
00:09:15 00:09:19 fishing pole right these guys have no
00:09:17 00:09:20 idea how to do that they don't even know
00:09:19 00:09:22 how to cast these guys are out there
00:09:20 00:09:23 every single weekend right fishing there
00:09:22 00:09:25 you know it right
00:09:23 00:09:28 so those are two groups of people now
00:09:25 00:09:30 you can go in and start targeting both
00:09:28 00:09:31 of those that'll probably be good enough
00:09:30 00:09:34 you'll make some sales but if you tell
00:09:31 00:09:37 your messaging your offer to that one
00:09:34 00:09:38 specific group your ads are literally
00:09:37 00:09:40 going to be so much more profitable
00:09:38 00:09:41 because those people they're gonna feel
00:09:40 00:09:43 like you understand them do you see
00:09:41 00:09:45 where they're coming from and you're
00:09:43 00:09:47 serving them better than somebody that's
00:09:45 00:09:49 just putting out random fly fishing
00:09:47 00:09:51 poles and fly fishing flies alright I
00:09:49 00:09:54 hope that makes sense to you okay
00:09:51 00:09:56 now my final point of this is that you
00:09:54 00:09:59 have to really understand what the
00:09:56 00:10:00 result is that those customers want okay
00:09:59 00:10:02 so I'm gonna give you a live example I
00:10:00 00:10:03 just picked up a hobby I mentioned it on
00:10:02 00:10:05 probably on a previous video picked up a
00:10:03 00:10:07 hobby with me and my wife we love to
00:10:05 00:10:08 play tennis and when I first you know I
00:10:07 00:10:10 used to play when I was younger I wanted
00:10:08 00:10:11 to pick it back up she used to play a
00:10:10 00:10:13 little bit too so we just picked them
00:10:11 00:10:16 back up now I haven't played in probably
00:10:13 00:10:18 like eight nine years it's been a long
00:10:16 00:10:20 time so when I started coming back to it
00:10:18 00:10:23 I started nerding out on it all right
00:10:20 00:10:25 just like a beginner right I was looking
00:10:23 00:10:27 up influencers on Instagram on YouTube I
00:10:25 00:10:28 was looking up tutorials I was looking
00:10:27 00:10:30 up all these different training aids I
00:10:28 00:10:31 was looking up all the information I
00:10:30 00:10:34 can't I was buying stuff right because
00:10:31 00:10:36 I'm a beginner right I'm a beginner so I
00:10:34 00:10:37 know I need my needs met right and a lot
00:10:36 00:10:40 of beginners believe it or not guys
00:10:37 00:10:42 right in the marketing sense when they
00:10:40 00:10:44 buy something right when they buy
00:10:42 00:10:46 something from you they feel like that
00:10:44 00:10:47 need that that void that they've done
00:10:46 00:10:50 some that they've accomplished something
00:10:47 00:10:52 okay I'm telling you it's very powerful
00:10:50 00:10:53 to really understand your target
00:10:52 00:10:55 customers so for example there was a
00:10:53 00:10:57 there's a there was a funny company that
00:10:55 00:10:59 I was I'm getting hit with ads a lot of
00:10:57 00:11:01 and it's called what's it all like fuzzy
00:10:59 00:11:02 yellow balls or something like that they
00:11:01 00:11:05 do like 10
00:11:02 00:11:07 tennis training and and gear and stuff
00:11:05 00:11:08 like that right and they're going after
00:11:07 00:11:10 me right there they're following me all
00:11:08 00:11:12 over the place because they know I just
00:11:10 00:11:14 got into tennis and they've their
00:11:12 00:11:15 messaging is very clear towards a
00:11:14 00:11:17 beginner just getting into tennis now
00:11:15 00:11:18 they're following me all around the
00:11:17 00:11:20 internet getting me to buy right to
00:11:18 00:11:22 opt-in to their lead magnet to start
00:11:20 00:11:23 learn learning about their products or
00:11:22 00:11:26 services and how they can help me
00:11:23 00:11:28 right get to the result that I want
00:11:26 00:11:30 right that's the goal of all of this
00:11:28 00:11:31 right you want to make sure that
00:11:30 00:11:33 whatever you're selling whatever your
00:11:31 00:11:34 offer is whatever you're putting out
00:11:33 00:11:37 there especially with paid ads it's
00:11:34 00:11:39 helping your customer get to a desired
00:11:37 00:11:41 result that they want so ask yourself
00:11:39 00:11:42 that what is the result that your
00:11:41 00:11:44 customer wants right if you don't know
