here hot deals. now these are all the type of industry market that they're currently going for. so these outfits that they're selling are outfits that big influencers wear, like kim kardashian, kylie jenner, cardi b. those type of influencers all wear clothes like this and this is what this store is all inspired by. it's about. it's about giving people that are your normal people a chance to wear clothes that famous people wear- not the exact same clothes, but something like similar to them- to make them feel really, really cool. so, based on that, a lot of people that buy from this website are people that are just in university, college. they're people that have just got a job. they haven't got much disposable income, so when they shop, they want to be able to get good deals and earn money. so what this website has done is they've been able to give you good deals whilst letting you earn money through their affiliate marketing, which is a very powerful way to get customers and then get them to give you more customers. and, as you guys can see, all these clothes that they're selling is all influence and marketing based. all these people are just instagram influencers and it's going to get those people that follow these people really hyped up. now let's move on to some data quickly, and the data that i'm going to show you is from e-commerce inspector, and i'm going to be their own money, their affiliate marketing. and that's how they've strategically been able to do it and because they focus on people that haven't got much disposable income, it's a great way for them to actually get people on board. so when you click earn money, it takes you to this page right here and it says: become an affiliate, earn up to 30, sign in. and it's got all the information. it's got a video showing you what it's all about and how it all works, and then it gives you a tier system of silver, gold and platinum. obviously it's going to make you feel more important if you go for the silver and gold and the platinum. and it's got all this other information. then it's got join now. so when you click join now, it greets you with this page that says sale dress, affiliate, join our affiliate program. there's three tiers that you can earn: rewards on silver, gold and platinum ranging from eight to thirty percent, which is going to get people entiked. and then it says: here you can learn about all the details. when you sign up- and this says more than a buyer: free, easy to join and it's an affiliate marketing program- you fill out all your details and then, once you fill out all your details, it will take you to a page and i'm going to show you right now- if i log in quickly because i've already signed in with them- and i'm going to show you exactly now what it will look like. it takes you to your dashboard. you get your own affiliate links. you can see here, when i go to dashboard, you can share your affiliate link and you can earn commission. and then, as you hi guys, in this video i am going to show you a most important concept: that how you can use your shopify store for affiliate marketing. so, basically, i will be showing you all the steps to follow and generate such type of affiliate links so that the customers could able to purchase the products from your store and you get the profit of affiliate marketing. so, basically, affiliate marketing is like uh, you, there are certain e-commerce websites like amazoncom, aliexpress, and you also have heard about ebay. so there are multiple other websites, uh, where the online products are going to be sold out, but you have the option to promote their products onto your shopify store and then you will get the percentage of the profit. so how you will be doing that is- earlier you was using shopify store for drop shipping, right, but for now, what you can do is, like, you can add a simple link from the affiliate website and then, once you are promoting your store and anyone is- uh, anyone is purchasing the product from your shopify store, then you will be getting the profit from, uh, the specific e-commerce website. like, for example, you are promoting the products for amazoncom, so you will get the profit from amazoncom once a specific product sold out. uh, because of your website, all right, so let me show you how you will be doing that. currently, you can see that on my screen i have the product page and i have just added a shop now button and you can see that this is the product which is already existing on the shopify. all right, so let me click on this one. so, for example, i am clicking on shop now and you can see that i redirected, uh to the amazoncom and here the sam product is showing and now i can purchase from here. and once a customer is going to purchase because of clicking on your website, then you will be getting the profit off, profit from that specific e-commerce website like amazon. so let me show you how. so, first of all, you have to go to your products, so each of the product which you will have, uh, so every product you need to add such type of links. how so? for example, you have couple of products here, for example, i am considering the first one, so you need to click on this product and once opened this specific product here, then what you need to do is, for example, i am opening this specific store on a new tab so you can see that all the things are over here, and first example, i am just exploring few kitchen related products. so, yeah, so this is the actual product, right? so currently, you can see that i have already implemented paypal smart buttons. if you don't have implemented, i can also do that for you. so i have already created a lot of videos. if you will go through my channel, you will get all the stuff. so, for example, below this add to cart button, i wanted to add a new button for shop now. so, first of all, you can see that the description is over here, so this is also here. so i am interested to add a specific button above this, right? but now what we gonna do here is like we are interested to purchase a specific product here. so let's say, i have this product. so i'm gonna copy this uh title and i'm going to search here. so once you are searching here and if you are, yeah, this is the product. so once you will be clicking on that specific product and you are already logged in with the affiliate program, then you will be getting this specific uh top bar. what we will have to do is: uh, you can see that this product is over here and we are interested to copy the link of this. so you need to click on this top link, get link. so here is the text, so here is the link, so you need to copy this link. and then, after you need to paste that link in between the double quotes of href, equal to double quotes, right? so question number one: what is affiliate marketing? affiliate marketing is when businesses work with partners that will help promote their brand or their products. so businesses will pay these people for every lead or every sale generated, all right. so here's a little diagram that i found that really helps explain this. but with revenue sharing, affiliate marketing is a win-win for both the online merchant and for affiliates. with affiliate marketing, there is no one-size-fits-all i think you know every business owner is going to have a different program. but the nice thing is is that you get to call the shots. you get to customize a plan that is as profitable and as scalable as possible for you and your business. so you know, like who you work with, how you pay them and how you want them to advertise for. you can really be tailored to meet your needs. which types of businesses is affiliate marketing good for? so good news, you can literally be any type of business and have an affiliate marketing program. so if we think about fashion or if we think about subscription boxes, those are definitely popular when it comes to affiliate marketing. but if you're familiar with bluehost, for example, they sell domains and they have their own affiliate program. so you can pretty much be any type of business and run an affiliate marketing program. so how do you find affiliates? so there are many ways to find affiliates, both passive and active, so that you can start building out your roster of partners. so if you put a link in the footer of your website, this is a solid but passive way to introduce visitors to your program. so this link would lead visitors to a page and that page is going to be dedicated to describing how your program works and it will also include a sign up form. so the sign up form would then be vetted by you so that you can allow you know who you want to let into the program. for the field section, you can have a questionnaire and you can ask them for their social media handles and how familiar they are with your products. a more active way to find affiliates is by reaching out to your existing customers via email. so recruiting customers is pretty smart because, first of all, they already know and love your products and, secondly, they would probably be flattered that you're including them. and then another method, of course, is reaching out to influencers. so start by emailing or start by dming 10. you know, this doesn't have to be anything super formal, it doesn't have to be anything, you know, super intense. you can literally just drop them line and invite them. but what i will say is just make sure that you are giving them the link to your affiliate program page and then that way they can check it out for more information, should they be curious. now i want to mention that you shouldn't feel like your business has to be perfect or your website has to be perfect before you reach out. there's no such thing as perfect, so don't let that hold you back from starting your affiliate program. so this is a common question: how much should you actually be paying your affiliates? so usually you pay your affiliates a percentage of the total sale. the short answer is that you can pay your affiliates anywhere between five and thirty percent. the long answer is: how you pay your affiliates is gonna depend on a few factors. so it's gonna depend. number one: how much can you afford? secondly, what is the going rate in your industry? and, of course, what your average customer lifetime value is. but if that all sounds like a lot- and i admit i feel like that's you know a lot- to calculate, what you can do is you can start low, so start with 10 and then, if you need to work your way up, you can do that later. now it might take a bit of, you know, testing and trying to find that sweet spot. you want to make sure, of course, that you're happy with your profit margin, but you also want to make sure that your affiliates are happy with how much they're making. but just keep in mind, the more that you uh pay them. so the more generous you are with your payouts, the easier of a time you will have. number one, finding your affiliate marketers and, secondly, keeping your army of affiliates. so, for example, tripadvisor, their affiliate program pays 50 commission, and that's super generous. now there's one more crucial piece to this puzzle that we're toking about here. so okay, you're giving your affiliates a cut to incentivize them to promote your products, right. but you also have to think about what would incentivize the customers to actually use that affiliate code and buy. you know you need them to use the codes to make this model work. so in order to do this, it's common for businesses to give customers a discount as well for using affiliate codes. so, for example, majuri, they give 10 off to their customers and they pay affiliates a percentage of the sale made as well. now, by this point you might be thinking, oh my god, that's a lot i'm giving away for free. but just you know, don't sweat it if you seriously want to use affiliates as a part of your marketing. just work this into your pricing strategy. you may have to up your prices in order to accommodate for the cost of affiliate marketing, so just keep that in mind. super common question is: should i be sending my affiliates product in order for your affiliates to sell effectively? of course you want them to be able to speak honestly about your products, so if they aren't already previous customers, then definitely you're going to want to send them some products to test out. if you know that you can only afford to give them a small cut of the sales you know, so you know that's not eating too much into your profit margins- then maybe, yes, throwing in some free products into the mix might be a really good way to sweeten the deal. having you know them play with your products and try them out, that can really help turn your affiliates into die hard brand advocates. how can you tell which influencers are bringing you sales so you can easily track which influencers are bringing you in, you know, added website traffic and added sales. now one way to do that is to use a discount code. so shopify allows you to set up a unique discount code for each of your affiliates so that way, you can track how many sales were made, because shopify is going to tell you how many times a discount code has been used. so another method: if you've ever heard of the term affiliate link, this refers to a unique url that contains the name of the affiliate. merchants use this link to track how much traffic and how many sales each affiliate is making. so what happens is the affiliate is going to drop that link in their content so they can put it in their instagram bios, they can put that in their blog posts, among other places as well, and then you, as the business owner, you can see metrics like how many times that link was clicked and the number of sales that it generated. so if you're watching this video, maybe you're struggling to grow sales. i know we've all.

Alex, hey, and welcome to my channel. money is also why share tips on how to succeed online, and in this video I want to address a question that I got asked from one of my subscribers and the question sounds like: Alex, can you do affiliate marketing on Shopify? and I totally get where this question is coming from. the thing is that, for those of you who don't know what Shopify is- if there are still people who don't know what Shopify is- Shopify is a platform, an online platform to create your online shop, just like there are other platforms to build your blog, for example, to publish your artikles. there are special websites, platforms specifically designed to build your online shop easily, in few steps. so Shopify is probably the leading, the number one platform in the world, at least in english-speaking countries, to create your online shop. and the thing is that, let's say, in the making, in the kind of business opportunity online, how to start your online business. there are two main kind of business models. the first one is affiliate marketing and the second one is drop shipping. these two business models became extremely popular because they don't need huge amounts of investments, unlike regular ecommerce or regular kind of product creation and product launch and proper kind of business with prior analysis, prior development, proper prior business plan creation and preparation. I mean, to create your own self hosted website on WordPress engine is way cheaper than running Shopify and you don't actually need to have a Shopify store to run affiliate marketing, because Shopify is the platform specifically designed for e-commerce type of business to place your products and they, like plug-in to Shopify, connect and integrate the, the payment gateway, like stripe or PayPal, to process payments and you know, and so on and so on. so for affiliate marketing, you don't need any of that. you would just. of course, Shopify has blogging platform, but it's too expensive to use just as a blogging platform and you basically would be paying for something that you wouldn't be even using, like product placements and all the tracking and CRM integrations and all that stuff. you actually don't need that for affiliate marketing. another thing is that if you want to drop shipping or e-commerce type of business, then by all means Shopify is my personal favorite and probably the best platform out there to have your shop online. and then of course, you I would to use Shopify as a platform- and I will drop the link to the free trial below this video in the description, in case, if you decide to start your Shopify drop shipping or e-commerce type of business. the third option when we're speaking about affiliate marketing and Shopify is to run drop shipping or e-commerce business and create affiliate program- your own affiliate program- and attract other affiliates to promote your product for a commission. for example, if you are selling through your shopify ecommerce business, let's say a leather backpacks, then you can create affiliate program and attract other fielitz who would promote and sell your leather backpacks for 20% of commission information. this way works Amazon. they attract affiliates, other people who are selling products who are promoting Amazon, like products placed on Amazon, and get commission from each and every sale. but if we're toking about you who want to run affiliate marketing business, then I recommend you to forget about Shopify. the only way how you can make money off Shopify is by promoting Shopify through their affiliate program. but then again, you need to be ecommerce experts, or sure, or dropshipping experts to be able to share knowledge and a useful, original information about drop shipping or e-commerce in order to attract the audience who would be willing to buy Shopify subscription from you. if you don't have this knowledge, the the, the competition in the Shopify kind of e-commerce, drop shipping business is huge, and by competition I mean not the salads, but people who are teaching drop shipping, people who are teaching ecommerce business how to run, how to set up Shopify stores, how to run this whole econ business. and without these kind of original knowledge and its, if not original, deep, proper knowledge, you will be struggling to promote Shopify subscription. I have to be honest with you. so if you don't possess this knowledge, then I don't recommend you to even promote Shopify subscriptions through their affiliate program. so in the end, getting back to the question: can you do affiliate marketing on Shopify? the short answer is yes, you can, but the long answer is: if you are not sure what is the answer to this question on the first place, then I don't recommend you to run affiliate marketing on Shopify and I would recommend you to keep these things separately in your mind and clearly understand that affiliate marketing is pretty much spend alone business and separate from Shopify type of business, which is drop shipping and ecommerce. there are some intersections between them, as I mentioned in this video. for example, you can set up your shop and clear the filter program for other people or influences who would be promoting the product that you are selling through your shop and would be getting a commission from you from each sale. or you can run some education, can have a youtube channel or blog blogging type of website where you will be sharing some knowledge about e-commerce and drop shipping and invite people to register through your affiliate link, fool the Shopify subscription and create their online e-commerce dropshipping shop and get the commission through the affiliate program of Shopify. but if you are not familiar, if you don't want to run ecommerce or drop shipping business and you are not familiar with this type of business model and all you are interested in is just affiliate marketing, then forget about Shopify, because there are a lot of other affiliate programs that you can promote, like email autoresponders, website hosting, all sorts of tools, all sorts of products, all sorts of courses, all sorts of- yeah, even physical products from Amazon. it depends on your niche as well. How to Create a Successful Affiliate Program for Your Business
as you build your business, you of course, need to attract more customers in order to grow. i mean, that's why you're hustling with sales, marketing, relationship building and creating content for social media, but what you might not be doing is letting other people bring new customers to your store for you, and in this video, i'll peel back the curtain on how to do just that. welcome to learn with shopify, where we arm you with the tools and knowledge to start, build and grow your own business. in this video, i'm really excited to share the ins and outs of affiliate marketing, one of the most effective ways for you to have an entire sales and marketing team of real people driving traffic to your online store without the upfront costs and complexities of hiring employees. if you clicked on this video, you probably have an idea of what affiliate marketing is, but, to summarize it as succinctly as i can, affiliate marketing is an incentive structure that encourages people- usually social media influencers, content creators and website owners- to recommend you to their audience in exchange for earning a percentage of any actual sales they bring into you. in other words, they don't make money until they help you make a lot more money first. this means that affiliate marketing is based on reciprocating incentive. i mean you want people to promote your business and products for you, and those people want to earn extra money by making a percentage of the sales that they generate. in practike, you provide a way for folks to sign up to receive a special link that's tied to them. they share that link, so when their audience clicks on it and makes a purchase on your website, the sale is recorded for both you and them in a dashboard so that everyone knows the results and commissions are automatikally paid periodically. it's really win-win in the best sense possible, because on the affiliate side, it doesn't take a lot of work for people to sign up and share links and on your side, once your affiliate program is set up, you don't need to spend a lot of time to babysit it and, best of all, you don't pay your affiliates a penny up front. you only pay them when they deliver you sales. but because affiliate marketing is commission based, the very first thing you'll need to do is to ensure your pricing and, more importantly, your profit margins are big enough that you'll remain profitable after commissions are paid. there's a concept called the double keystone that you can use to evaluate your pricing. double keystoning means that, as an absolute minimum, the stiker price of each of your products doubles at every stage between manufacturing and the end customer receiving it. now this can just be doubling once if, for example, you're making the products at your dining room table and selling direct to consumer on your website. so if it costs you ten dollars to make one product, the double keystone rule means that you need to sell each one for at least twenty dollars, and that is a bare minimum. but let's say you found a manufacturing partner to make your products for you and not only do you want to sell direct to consumer, you also want to wholesale to other stores so that they can sell for you as well. if it costs your manufacturing partner five dollars to make it, they'll at least double that and charge you ten dollars for each. then you at least double what you pay to sell wholesale to other stores, charging them at least twenty dollars each, and they in turn at least double that and sell for at least forty dollars to their customers who buy from their store. as a side bonus, this means you quadruple your costs when folks buy directly from you. sweet, this means that when you list the product on your own website, you'll need to list it at at least 40 as well, so you're not undercutting your wholesale clients. by observing the double keystone rule as an absolute minimum, you ensure that your margins are high enough to be able to support an affiliate marketing program. now that you've priced your products in a way that can support an affiliate marketing program, let's get into the good stuff: how to actually create a successful affiliate program. since the incentive for your future army of affiliates is to earn money, the first step is to ensure you can create the conditions to make it attractive for them to do so. put yourself in their shoes. what they want is to earn more, so it stands to reason that you want to start structuring your program to feature the highest earning products for them to promote, since if the value of what they promote is high, their commissions in turn will be high as well. your store may have a hundred different products ranging between five dollars and five hundred dollars. if we use an example of a ten percent commission, which would be more attractive to your future affiliates to earn fifty cents per sale on a five dollar item or fifty dollars on a 500 item, of course, you can absolutely enable affiliates to earn their commission on everything in your store. but this first step is about making a program that will be attractive for folks to want to sign up to be one of your affiliates. digging into some psychology here: us, as humans, are easily paralyzed by choice. we want things to be frictionless. so in the context of creating an affiliate program, we want to be able to quickly and effectively communicate the potential of being one of our affiliates. so this first step is about creating the program, making it jump out at potential affiliates and creating the communication materials so it's as easy as possible for them to sell for you. i'm toking about being able to have a landing page that communicates things like: hey, you love our products, earn up to fifty dollars for every sale you bring us. best of all, you can download our rapid start guide that includes gorgeous product shots and copy-pastable messaging, including the ability to offer your audience a first-order discount and free shipping on orders over 100. the photos, by the way, in that download pack could all feature your higher tiket items. so these affiliates are psychologically anchored to earning more. you're also making their promotional workflow easier for them by creating copy pastable messaging. finally, with end customer incentives like free shipping and a first order discount, you are increasing the likelihood that their audience will make an order, thus earning both you and your affiliates money sooner. so to summarize step one, you are designing the bare bones of the program itself and the communications materials to be as compelling and as attractive for your future army of affiliates to want to sign up and, more importantly, want to actively continue to promote your products to their audience. step two is all about building the actual commission structure and validating it with some math. of course, the higher the commission your future affiliates can earn, the more likely they are to dedicate more focus to promoting you. but you need to ensure the money makes sense. let's say, for example, you're selling a jacket that costs you twenty dollars each to get from your manufacturer and you're selling it for one hundred dollars when it sells. you tiknically have eighty dollars left over, but you need to cover your overhead costs like renting your office, the packaging the jacket will go into when you ship it, your own salary and other expenses like your paid ads and your year-end accounting costs, taxes, all of that after your calculations you determine that all of those combined account for 40 dollars worth from each jacket sale. so you have an additional 40 left over from that initial 100 sale. you also determine that you want to keep another twenty dollars from each sale to bank and reinvest back into your business to help it grow, which means you have twenty dollars left over to play with meaning from that one hundred dollar sale. you can afford to allocate twenty dollars- or in this case with such a convenient number, 20- in things like discounts and affiliate commissions, since you're already p.
