The Best Shopify Themes for Your Online Store in 2022
in today's video, i'm going to show you how you can make one of the best online stores out there with ecommerce themes that are a designed to be fast and also high converting. so shopify has rolled out five new free themes and 65 updated paid themes that work with online store 2.0 features- literally so exciting. so i'm going to take you guys through some incredible shopify themes so that you guys can decide which one is right for your business in 2022.. each one of these offers industry leading performance and deep customization. but can we just get a little sneak peek here? okay, let's look at some of these amazing themes. so, first of all, look at this one- this one's called context, and i just feel like it would be perfect for someone who is starting like a clothing store but maybe wants a bit more of an editorial vibe. and then this one over here. look at this one- this one's called loft, and i feel like it would be so good for anyone selling home goods. so that's just a little preview, but definitely stik around till the end of this video, because i'm going to go through a ton of themes and just discuss the specifics on who they're good for and how they can work for you and your business. [Music]. okay, guys, so what exactly is a theme? so, if you think about it, themes are kind of like the skeleton of your online store. it's just going to define what your store is going to look like. so, for example, in this theme over here, this has one main image for the banner, but if you look at this one, it's going to allow you to put two images for the banner, and a theme is also going to define some of the functionality of your store. so, for example, when i click the cart on this theme, it pops up as a sidebar and then when i click the cart on this theme, it's just going to take up the whole page. so, if you guys don't already know, when you create your online store with shopify, you can choose between either free themes or premium themes, and it's really nice because there are more and more free themes that are being released recently. so there's tons of options there. and then, as of now, there's also 60 paid themes and you can find a theme that works really easily for yourself because you can narrow it down by industry price and then just basically find the design that you're after. okay, i know you guys are wondering: are shopify themes better than other themes out there? and i just want to say really quickly, just want to say this from the jump: shopify themes are amazing. they're amazing. first of all, if you are not tik savvy, shopify themes were going to be perfect for you because all of the features that you need already come built into your theme. you're probably never going to need to hire developer because 99, if not 100, of what you need already comes built into your theme. but but if you are a perfectionist like me and let's say, you do want to do like a little tweaks and like edit, you can edit your store without touching any code. so let's just look at my screen here for one sec, because i actually do think this is really important. so if we look here, you can see that i can easily edit these sections and these blocks to look exactly how i want and i can add apps, and i can add apps through app blocks. like there's so much flexibility here. obviously, hiring a developer can get really expensive really quickly, so this is a really good option if you are just starting. maybe you're trying to save a bit of money. and another thing that i really like about shopify themes is that you can get set up in literally less than 24 hours, like that is not an exaggeration. it is so fast. you could get set up between zoo meetings. you can get set up while your bagel is toasting. you can get set up before your roommate is done with the shower. okay, i don't know, probably not that fast, but one thing is for sure: you can definitely get set up before the pandemic is over. that's a little food for that. so this could be your sign to get going. so it is really quick to get set up. but it's also really good at getting your vision into the real world. you know when you have like an idea in your head and then you're like, okay, like i know what i want this to look like. i have this idea in my head and then you put it out into the universe and it's just like not really what you were hoping it would look like. i feel like that's definitely happened to me before. but i feel like with shopify themes, you can. you can get your branding and your vision out into the real world because you just have so much control over styling, over everything. and have you ever been on a website on your phone? and it's just like not as good as it would be on desktop. but with shopify, since themes are responsive, i feel like that just pretty much guarantees that your store is going to look dope, whether it's on the phone, whether it's on the desktop, wherever. we've all gotten to be very impatient creatures and, let's be real, no one really has the time to wait for even like four seconds for a page to load. but with the online store 2.0, let me tell you the speed and performance. it's good, as long as we don't overdo it with the heavy videos and like heavy images and that kind of thing. these themes are going to be so fast, guys. not nearly enough people pay attention to this, but shopify's themes are going to be highly accessible by design, and i think this is really important to me because everyone has different abilities, like, for example: some people might not be able to read small type, maybe they're just unable to see, maybe they're color blind. some people are unable to use a mouse to click on products to purchase, so they're going to rely on a keyboard alone to navigate the web. and with any shopify free theme that you choose, or paid theme, you can be sure that it's meeting the latest accessibility standards baked in by default. shopify actually requires the people who are making these themes to make sure that users can navigate through an entire theme with only a keyboard and a screen reader. i love it. i'm here for the inclusivity. last thing that i really like about the new online store 2.0 themes is that you are fully covered when it comes to support. like, if you decide to get any free shopify theme today, you would get an hour of free design time and in those sessions, the support advisors just have tons of ideas on how you can get more sales. and if you got a paid theme, you can chat with someone who can give you ideas on how to get sales too. so, literally, support in every direction. all right, guys, this is the age-old question: should you go for a free theme? should you go for a paid theme? all right, here's the t. so i feel like if you are just starting out, if you're just getting your feet wet, a free theme is a good option, because there's going to be light, they're going to be flexible and if you're looking to have the ability to tweak, the ability to get your theme super on brand, you can definitely do that with a- a free theme you can get so granular to the point where, like, you can choose whether your buttons are going to have rounded corners or sharp edges. you know what i'm saying. so i do love a free theme, but nothing hits like a good paid theme. this is just my opinion. i find that with premium themes is just such a breath of fresh air because you have so much more control. you can get really granular with your settings and your designs in a way that's just not as possible to that level with free themes. for example, you can add animations, you can have product details pop up on hover, you can even change the spacing between letters, and those are just to name a few. and i think i mean these themes aren't just made by random people. they're literally made by shopify's theme store partners, who have been building themes for over a decade. developing good themes for you is their entire business, so they always want to ensure that their themes are on point, that they're giving you incredible customer support. so, yeah, there's just nothing like a good premium theme. so if you are new, a free theme is going to be great, but if

Top 5 Best Shopify Free Themes 2022
what's up everyone, edwin anthony here, back at it again with another shopify video, and today what we're going to go over are the top five shopify free themes that i strongly recommend out there for you guys. so again, if you like this type of content, as i say before, just please press that subscribe, demolish the like button, make sure that you smash it, demolish it, all that type of stuff, and let me know in the comments as to what you think about this video. okay, because i really read all of the comments and i respond to each and every one of you guys for any tips or advices that you guys need from me. okay, so let's get to it. what is this for? these are for people who, um, who just don't want to purchase a theme. they just want to start off with: hey, i just, i'm starting off a business, i just want a free theme and i want to know which are the best themes. and first on our list, let's start off with don and. so, for those who are familiar with the shopify world, if you guys remember, back in the days it was debut, debut was the default theme from shopify and instead shopify. now, with the store 2.0 and all that good stuff. they upgraded to this one that's called dawn, which is very robust and, um, pretty much new. so a lot of developers in the shopify community they love to use dawn as a starting point and then they try to customize your website from there. so this is something that is not just a biggest choice for people who are selling products, but also for developers. they use this as a framework and then they start building from within. so let's check out, don, let's see. why is it that people just love this? so it comes with a pop-up, as you can see right here, and, uh, very, very minimalistik in the sense of the header. as you can see right here, they have a minimalistik logo. so make sure that if you're going to put a logo, it's very nice and clean, minimalistik. right here, you could see that it doesn't have a mega menu, but it's very simple. so, for those who are starting off, i think that this works out very well. even though it's a vertikal menu. it's just something to start off with right, and we have a nice banner here with a call to action very clear. i would say that if you're going to use something like this and also make it look like this, make sure that your images are not only very high resolution, but also make sure that you add some type of an opacity film over it so that it kind of tints like how you see it here, and that way the words really pop out. right, the call to actions need to pop out. and look at this. so it has like a little focus hover over as well as a zoom in, so it kind of has like that zoom. in effect, you see, while it switches, we have a nice little badge here, very nice, very clean, okay, and we have some nice- uh, also lifestyle images. and pay attention, here we have a stiky bar. so this is a stiky menu. if you guys ever want that, this comes with it. stik it many means that the menu up here it scrolls down as you scroll down, so as you're scrolling down, and you'll see that that pops up right there. so we have some categories here. we have a area for that you could use. uh, you could put a video right, let's see how this looks. oh, not bad, i'm not gonna play it, but you guys could test it out. anyways, and very clean again, you know, as a start-up point, i think this is actually pretty good. let's take a look at, uh, the collections page. all right, very nice. so they have the menu systems horizontally. so if you guys want to filter, uh, the this right here, yeah, it comes with it. not bad, okay, and it has other features here. that's standard, very nice. so instead of using like the old drop down they kind of have like these pills here, you could scroll down and you can see how the product continues to navigate with the pictures, allowing you to kind of like, stay on this focal point right here and then further you could go ahead and start adding some more stuff here. very complete, guys, this is not bad, very, very beautiful. so don don, makes it into a list as one of the very high popular themes that are free out in shopify. you'll go ahead and set that up and, um, definitely try to work with it. all right, let's go to the next one on our list. the next one is called refresh. very interesting, store, uh, clean and modern design, emphasis on product detail and advanced customization options. very, very interesting. also, a store 2.0 feature. right, so it's up to date. this free theme has the store 2.0. let's go see what's inside. all right, so interesting, tiknique, that they have going on with this. so we have an announcement bar on the top, which is good. announcement bars should follow you, uh, showing you the offers throughout the store, no matter what page you're in. and then we have a fully colored uh navigation menu with also a minimalistik logo, but it's inversed, in other words, that it's a white logo. and then they just made sure that they set up this as part of their branding colors because, as you can see right here, with this business, uh huron, their main color is blue and i'm sure that they- um, you know that this is their branding color, as what you could see right here. right and very interesting. let's see in this menu they have another vertikal and notike how the vertikal was so clean when i clicked on that, and the edges are not like square, they're actually rounded edges, uh, so that's actually pretty nice to see. and then we have these other types of menus: call to action. we have a nice banner that the focal point is on this side, leaving this side, allowing you to go ahead and contrast this out very clean. i really like how this uh stiks out and how this call to action also pops out and it stays branded in this whole thing. so this is actually pretty nice going down the list here. oh, very nice here. so the what's required to get your store to look like this is that, although this is free, you have to really invest in your product images. like you can't go in here with, like you know, whack product images. that doesn't make any sense. you got to make sure that your product images look really nice and also stay branded. so, notike, how they did here, they have their product images kind of like all lined in place. if they differentiate in color of the background, notike that they don't stray too much away. they want to make sure that the product really pops out. so if you're going to use this theme, make sure that your products are popping out and they're all aligned perfectly and they're all the same size. and as an alternative image, or image number two, they do the same thing. it's a little bit of a lifestyle image, but they have the blue in the background and notike how it kind of has like a little zoom going on. it's kind of like a zoom effect. okay, so that's pretty nice. and then we have, you know, the hover over on the adds carts- very nice, so we have a nice logos here to call out as far as y, and then we have look at all these points right here, so you know what. this is actually pretty good also for small catalogs. or if you have a single product, like let's pretend that you're only selling this one shampoo and that's the only thing that you're selling, this theme allows you to go ahead and make the home page look fantastik regarding the focal points towards why that one singular product, what are the benefits, and you can see also right here we have a stiky menu. that's also good here on the homepage- beautiful. look at that. so very branded. uh, it allows you to stay branded with simple colors. it's just the blue and the white or this kind of like off gray and then maybe this blue, and then we have this right here. this is very nice. for it to be a free theme. i think this is fantastik. again, i repeat, the only thing i would emphasize you guys to do is make sure that you have good images, because you can have a nice free theme. if your images are not on point, your store looks horrible. uh, so we have some text on the banner. this is actually good for seo. i like this a lot. and then we have the collections page and then we have more information. this is also good practike for seo. so i would say this is

I think the this theme is just really slick, really easy to use and understand, easy for visitors to get like: okay, this is this product category, uh, and it just the minimalistik aspect of it just makes the product details really pop, in my opinion. uh, and this is really great, I guess, if you have, like any type of brand where you're selling multiple different types of products, different categories, uh, really like a very brandable type of theme design, yeah, I, you know, I would say, obviously it's a bold theme for elevating product quality and brand storytelling, really any of these themes you can easily customize yourself and really make it look and match your brand specific feel or what you're trying to go after for your online store. so, yeah, definitely worth checking out. refresh um as well. moving in at number four, we have the sense theme. so sense is more of an energizing theme featured for, of course, extensive product detail layouts. you have uh glow. of course. this is more like a makeup brand example that they use here for sense theme and sense also is good for, similarly to, I would say, to refresh, as far as, like you know, focusing in on a specific product category, uh, then you also have. or a specific product lineup, then you know you also have sense. I would say sense is kind of like, uh, the brother or sister theme. to refresh as far as the overall layout and design: uh, of course you have good brand storytelling, a fresh and bright design. I would say this is good for, maybe makeup uh products where you want that more, like bright and fresh color palette, depending on the type of design and theme layout you're trying to go for. of course you can easily customize any of these as well, but you do have, you know, specific uh featu.
New FREE Shopify Themes! Should You Switch To Online Store 2.0?
following up the release of online store 2.0, shopify has just come out with a suite of brand new free themes for your shopify store. today, we're going to break down all the new cool stuff that's coming up, what's going on everybody, and welcome back to the channel. if you're brand new here and we've never met before, hey, what's up. my name's carrie. i'm the founder of shirt school and i created this channel to bring you the best strategy, secrets and hacks to grow your online t-shirt, apparel or e-commerce business. i want to jump right into it today because i'm really excited that shopify has just released four brand new free themes for your shopify store: sense, crave, dawn and craft. last year, in the middle of 2021, shopify released a brand new upgrade to their entire system called online store 2.0. now, if you have no idea what i'm toking about, basically what they did is upgraded their entire dashboard inside your shopify account. they added a ton of new features. they completely redid the store editor, the actual like website builder, where there's tons of new features. it's laid out a little bit differently. there's a lot more customization that you can do and along with that, they released one new theme called dawn. we just mentioned it. now they've come out with not only more free themes- the four that we're going to tok about today- but also a lot of additional paid themes. now online store 2.0- as i've been using it over the last eight to nine months- has been a huge upgrade. it really does take shopify to that next level and take it into 2022, and it feels like a new and exciting and fresh experience, as opposed to kind of the old and a little more clunky experience. although i still thought shopify was very good before the upgrade, now it just really is at a whole new level. initially, a lot of the upgrades we saw with os 2.0 were on the back end, with the coding, with the language, so shopify rolled this out to developers and just now we're starting to see a lot of these upgrades coming to us as sellers. let's start with dawn. dawn was the first one that rolled out- uh, when they rolled out online store 2.0, and i've actually been using dawn for a while and i think it is the best of these four themes from my experience. now, keep in mind, these other themes are brand new, so i haven't had a lot of time to really use them, but dawn has been pretty awesome and at the end of this video i'm gonna go into the editor and kind of show you what that new editing experience looks like if you're editing with the dawn theme. so let's look at what it has to offer here and we'll look at some examples. dawn is great for clothing and accessories, health and beauty, home and garden and you kind of get some pictures and some different things here: minimalistik design, media, forward product page, advanced customization options. that's actually my favorite thing about dawn is the customization options which i'm going to show you, uh, here at the end of the video. but dawn is really really good. if we look at a preview of this man, it really is light years ahead of the older free themes. you know i was a big fan of the simple and minimal theme and those were the ones that i've always recommended to my students, that i've always used myself, and when i started using dawn, i was extremely impressed with just how slick and fast and how customizable, uh, this theme is. you kind of see that here as we go through the product page. i mean there are so many options which i'm going to show you, but this is a really really great option and you know, for a free theme you can't find something better. next up, let's take a look at the craft theme. now this is brand new, only been out for maybe a week or two at this point. this one they specifically say is great for home and garden, and so as we scroll down here, we get some of those pictures: honest and authentik design, elevated storytelling, advanced customization options. again, let's go over to the preview store so you see, this kind of has these bigger tiles, this kind of feel much more visual than the dawn theme, and that's why they specifically say: you know it's good for this home and garden type thing, but let's click into a product so we can see what this looks like. now i always try to keep in mind with these demo stores that shopify is giving you, that they are always giving you really the best version of this right. they've- they've spent a lot of time and energy making a really, really beautiful store, and so it's not quite as easy when you're just a normal person designing to get a store looking this good. but you can see, this kind of gives you an idea of what the craft theme has to offer. hey, if you're enjoying this video, would you do me one quick favor? it really, really helps me out. if you just hit that like button, if you are truly getting value out of this video, that'll push this out to more people. it'll tell youtube that this is good stuff and more people need to see it. also, consider subscribing to the channel and hitting the bell icon. that'll make sure you get notified when we release new videos, which is every single tuesday. back to the content. next up is the crave theme and you can tell just by the visuals here on the crave thing that it's going to be good for food and drink. right, they're showing some beautiful colors, vibrant colors and lots of food here, and so it's going to be great for food and drinks style stores, some of the features that they advertise here, vibrant and playful design for the on-the-go buyer and then those advanced customization options. so if we go over to the crave theme, we see what this looks like here. again, a really, really beautiful design. i love the uh kind of the shadow or the black around these, these images. it just looks really good and, again, these are not so easy to make when you're doing it on your own, but this gives you a really good idea of kind of what this looks like. let's click into the product page. here's what the product page looks like. we see some similar things throughout these 2.0 themes. we see these little drop down menus which you can customize. this one has a different style of the way the images are laid out, which i really like, but overall, hey, it's a beautiful theme. the last theme i want to take a quick look at is scents, and again you can tell here that they're really aiming this towards the health and beauty niche and you can kind of see that they've designed these four free themes to target specific areas, some of the biggest niches on shopify: food, do it yourself, health and beauty and, of course, apparel and clothing. this one kind of flaunts a fresh and bright design, enhanced product understanding and advanced customization options, as all of them has shown. here's a quick look at what this scents theme looks like. again, really, really beautiful, gives you that vibrant, bright look and definitely does look great for health and beauty. let's click into a product page, kind of see what that looks like, if we see any really uh changes that stand out. again, the photos: the different way of displaying the photos. i love how they've curved the edges and they've added this drop shadow. it looks really really good. again. we've got the the little drop down menus here looking really good. really beautiful theme. lastly, i want to give you a look at the upgraded shopify editor and it is on another level from the old one. now i'm looking at the dawn theme because, as you know, i sell t-shirts and apparel. we also have an online course where we teach people how to build profitable online t-shirt and apparel businesses. so i'm really focused on apparel and that's why i really like the dawn 2.0 theme. so let's dive in and look at some of the cool features of the new online store 2.0 editor. so i'm inside a test store here. you see that i've already added- kind of added- some stuff here, just to give you an idea. but this is what the editor looks like. one of the things i really love is how incredibly customizable everything is. if you look at this about us section, you know you can literally just drag a.
