How To Add Products To Shopify | Easy Step By Step Tutorial
all right, what's up guys? this is jay kidd. in this video, i'm going to be showing you, step by step, how you can go ahead and add in products to your shopify store. so all you need to make sure you do is that you already have your shopify store set up and created, and then we're going to go ahead and start adding products. so if you don't have your shopify store already set up, you can go ahead and click the link in the description to start your free trial, and once you go ahead and create the store, you'll be brought to this page right here, which is where we can go ahead and get started. the first link in the description. so let's go ahead and get into it here. so all you need to do is go over here to the products section right here on the left, and then we're just going to click on add products here in the top right and we're going to be brought to this screen right here. so the first thing we need to do is put in a title for our product here. so in this case i'm going to be adding a deck of playing cards as our product right here, so that's going to be our title. then we have the product description right here. so the product description is going to be used to help, obviously, describe what the product is to the customer. but also you can use the description to help with things like seo. so if you put relevant keywords in your description, it's going to help your product to show up in google for specific keywords. so keep that in mind when you are editing your product descriptions. so you normally want to take a good amount of time to edit your product descriptions to make sure that they have a lot of details in there, and i do have a separate video on how to go ahead and do that. but this is where you can go ahead and put in the description. so in this case i'll just put in a couple basic things. so when you're filling out your description, you can put in text, or you can also put in other things, such as images, by clicking insert image here, or you can insert a video here as well, or you can also insert custom html by clicking on show html. so the next part of adding a product. here is going to be the media section, so this is where we can upload pictures or videos of our specific product here. so i'm going to go ahead and do that right now. so you want to make sure, when you're adding pictures and videos of your product, that they're very clear and professional looking pictures. you want to make sure that they're not blurry or pixelated, because when people are buying things online, the primary selling process is going to be extremely visual. so if you don't have good pictures, then your product is likely not going to sell very well. so if we go ahead and scroll down, we can see that the next thing we can do here is set up our pricing for our product here, so we can put in, let's say, a price for this deck of cards right here and then, right here, we can go ahead and choose what's known as a compare at price. so this is how you can go ahead and create a sale. so i'll go ahead and show you what this is really quick. so, first, if we come up here and i just click active on product status- real quick- and i'm going to go ahead and save our changes and what i'm going to do is i'm going to preview this product right now and we can see here that right now it shows this product as 5.99, which is the price we set. but if i were to go ahead and make the compare at price 9.99 and then i click on save here and come up here and preview it once again, we can see that now it essentially creates a sales. before it was 9.99 and now it is 5.99. so that's how you can go ahead and create a sale is by using the compare at price here and then down here you can choose whether or not you're going to charge tax on this product, just by checking or unchecking this box, and then down here is your calls per item. so this can help you to determine your profit margins on your product here. so if you are making these products yourself, you can go ahead and put in how much it costs for you to make these products. or if you're sourcing this product from somewhere else, you can go ahead and put in how much it costs to source this product. so let's say it cost us one dollar to source these deck of cards and then we can see that it shows us that we are making a profit of 4.99 at our current sale price. so we have an 83.3 profit margin. so this just helps us to see our numbers up front and determine good pricing for our products. and moving down from here, we can come down to the inventory section right here. so first we have the sku, so the stok keeping unit. so this is where you can assign certain number and letter combinations to kind of keep track of your different products right here. so if you do have an sku for each one of your products, this is where you can go ahead and put it in. and then, if you have a barcode for your product as well, you can go ahead and put that in right here. and certain ad platforms, such as if you're trying to run like google shopping ads, are going to require a barcode. so that's where this would be important, right here. right here you can choose whether or not you want to track the quantity of your products here. so if you have a specific quantity in stok, then you want to go ahead and track it right here. and then you can also choose whether or not you want to continue selling when you're out of stok. so if you want to keep selling when you're out of stok, you can check this, but we're going to go ahead and keep that unchecked and then, right down here, you can go ahead and take a look at your location. so if you're fulfilling from a physical location, like a warehouse, you can go ahead and edit your quantities in here within the actual fulfillment center. so let's say that in our warehouse we have, let's say, 100 new playing card decks in stok. so now we have 100 in stok right there. so you can go ahead and put 100 in this specific location right here. and if you're not using a specific location, you don't have to use this, but if you are, this is where you can go ahead and set it up. this is where we can choose whether or not it's a physical product. so if it is a physical product, we'll keep it checked. if it's a digital product, you just get rid of it. and then we can go ahead and put in the weight of the product right here- and this is going to help us with setting up our shipping and things of that nature. and then, right here, we can enter in some customs information right here. so you have to go ahead and enter this if you are shipping internationally. so in this case, you're just going to select your country of origin right here, which in this partikular case would be the united states. so you can go ahead How to Add Products to Shopify from Aliexpress (2023 Updated)
and now the next step is to import our product to our shopify store. so i'm going to be drop shipping from aliexpress, which is the most popular place to drop ship products from, and when you drop ship from aliexpress, you can use a tool called deezers, which makes things a lot easier. so this allows you to simply import any product from aliexpress to your shopify store, and then it also makes fulfilling the orders a lot easier once you start getting sales. so i'm going to leave a link to this tool down below in the description, so click on that link and then, once you're here, simply click on try it free. then here you can simply create an account with your email and a password, and then click on create account. and now here we can link our shopify store by clicking on shopify right here, and that will take us to the shopify app store, where we're going to install the deezers aliexpress dropshipping app. so here we simply click on add app. then here we want to make sure that this is our shopify email address that we have just used to sign up for shopify with, and then click on yes. then click on install app right here. then we're gonna have to choose a plan for this app. i'm gonna go with the basic plan, which is free, so i'm going to click on get started right here, and then here we're going to click on aliexpress. so now we need to connect our deezers app to aliexpress. so if you already have an aliexpress account, you can sign in right here. i actually like to create a new aliexpress account for every new store, so i'm gonna click on register and then create a new aliexpress account right here. then here we're gonna click on authorize and now we can start importing products by clicking right here. then we can simply skip the tutorial right here, because i'm going to show you everything that you need to know now. we also need to install the chrome extension for deezer. so we're going to click on home, here on the top left, and then we're gonna click on chrome extension. so you're gonna need to use the google chrome browser in order for this to work. so we're gonna click on add to chrome right here and then confirm add extension, and that will add the chrome extension here to the browser. however, in order for us to see it at all times, we need to click on the puzzle icon and then make this pin icon blue right here, and then we can always see the extension here on the top. now we also need to log into our diesel's account, so we're going to click on these right here. that will take us to the home page and then we're going to click on login and that should automatikally connect our chrome extension to our deezers account. so once that is done, we can go back to the aliexpress page where we're going to drop ship the product from, and, as you can see here on the bottom, we have a new button that says add to deezers, which we're going to use to to import our product to shopify. so before we do that, i want to quickly show you that here on the top, with your extension, you can also change some options. so here for the option- we're going to leave this at all for the shipping methods, and if you're going to sell in another country apart from the us, you also want to change the country right here. so, for example, if you would sell in the united kingdom, we would choose united kingdom right here and then also change the currency to british pounds. however, i want to sell this product in the united states. i'm going to leave united states and also leave the currency at us dollars, click on update settings and then i want to reload the page again just to make sure that the import button works. and now i'm going to click on add to these here on the bottom, and now it will import my product to my deezers account. so now we can go back to our deezer's dashboard and click on import list here on the left side, and now we can see our product is on our import list where we can then push it to our shopify store. but before we're gonna do that, we're gonna quickly click on edit product and then make sure we only import all the variants that we actually want to sell on our store. so here we're gonna click on variants where we can see this product comes in four different colors: white, green, blue and pink. so, for example, if you would only want to sell the green version, we could simply delete all the other versions right here, and then it would only import that one variant. so i want to sell all the variants right here, so i'm going to just leave it as it is. we can also click on the description and make sure we delete everything that we don't want to import. it doesn't really matter, because we're going to change everything manually anyway later on, when we create the product page and then we also have images, so you can just select all the images that you want to import to your shopify store and then, what's also important, to click on shipping info and make sure that the product actually ships to the country you want to sell in. so i want to sell this product in the united states. i'm going to type in united states, click on the search icon and then i can see that the product is shipping to the united states. now the delivery time isn't great, which is, uh, very usual with drop shipping products. i might be able to find this product with another provider, such as cj drop shipping or sand drop or spock it or something like that, where the it's already in a us warehouse where i get a lot lower shipping times. however, in the beginning i don't like to spend a lot of time trying to find the perfect supplier for this product, because most products you're going to find multiple suppliers. but i want to test this product first with some ads and make sure that the product actually works in the market before i spend more time finding a good supplier and making sure the shipping times are as low as possible. so that works fine for me right now. so i'm gonna click on save and and then we can click on push to shopify. right here here we're going to tik also publish to online store and then we're going to click on push to shopify. so now we can go back to our shopify store, click on products and then we can see we have a new product on our store.

Shopify Tutorial for Beginners 2022 (FULL Store Setup Guide)
in this shopify tutorial, i'm going to take you through, step by step, how to build a professional shopify store from start to finish. we're going to cover every single step, from signing up to shopify to launching your finished store, ready to sell your products. that includes choosing a theme, customizing your store website, adding products to your store and also important things like setting up your legal pages, your payment providers and your shipping information. i'm also not going to waste your time rambling about things that aren't important and then try to sell you a drop shipping course for 9.97. this video will simply help you getting your shopify store up and running as efficiently as possible, while also learning how to use shopify. so let's get started. so the first step is to go to medicsmediacom forward slash shopify or simply click on the link down below in the video description. this will get you a 14 day free trial for shopify. so do that now and we'll go from there. great. so once we're here, we can simply type in our email address right here and then click on start free trial, and then we also gonna have to set a password for our new shopify account, and down here you can also see the current url of your new shopify store now. you can change that if you want to, but eventually you're going to want to get your own branded domain, something like medicswatchescom anyway, so i wouldn't worry about that too much. and then you can click on create your store. now they want to ask us a couple of questions about our business, which we can actually simply skip right here, and then they ask us for our name and business address, which is actually required in order for us to create a new shopify account. so fill that out right here and then click on enter my store. awesome, so that will take us inside of the shopify dashboard, which is what you're gonna learn how to use in this video. however, we're not gonna cover every single thing here in the shopify dashboard, because a lot of it is self-explanatory and i think the best way to learn everything is to actually start building out your store and then learning by doing learning the features when you actually need them. so i want to dive right into the fun stuff and start building out our store. alright, so the first step is to go ahead and choose a theme for our new online store. so we're going to go to online store here on the left side, then we're going to go to themes, and then we can see that the current theme that is already installed on our online store is the dawn theme. this is the default theme that comes with every new shopify store. now, choosing a theme, you want to make sure that the theme already is kind of the design that you're looking for, the structure of the of the website that you're looking for. so you have a minimal amount of work you have to do until you are ready to launch your store. so what you can do is you can go to actions, click on preview and then you can see how this current theme is actually built up, and then you can decide on if this is actually the right theme for you or if you want to choose a different theme. now, if you want to choose a different theme, you have a couple of different options. so here, when we scroll down, we can see that there are some free themes that we can use that come with the shopify plan, or it can also go to the shopify theme store right here and then also check out paid themes, which you're gonna have to pay for. so what you can do right now is to go through some of these options. i would recommend to first click on explore free themes right here and see if any theme here really fits your brand, your, your kind of store or the products that you want to sell. so eventually, all we have to do then is to add our products, add our branding and add all of our content, and then our store will be ready to go. what i'm gonna do in this video is simply choose one of the free themes right here. so i'm gonna click on explore free themes and i'm actually going to go for the brooklyn theme right here, so i'm going to click on the brooklyn theme. they also have a couple of different styles for each theme, so you can click on different styles and decide on which one you like the most. i'm gonna simply stik to the classic style right here and then i'm gonna click on add to theme library here on the bottom, and then, once the theme has been added, we can see it right here, and in order to actually change from the default theme to the new one we have just added, we need to go to actions right here and then click on publish, then again confirm right here, and now our theme will change to the new theme that we have just added and now we want to start building out our store. so we're going to scroll up again and then we're going to right click on customize and click on add link in a new tab. this way, we still have our shopify dashboard open in the background and we can work on our shopify store in the shopify editor right here at the same time. so now we are in the editor of shopify, which we can use to build out our online store website. so i'm going to give you a quick overview over how this works and then we're going to start to build out our website. so here on the top you can switch from different pages. so right now we are on the home page. you can also switch to your product pages, to your collection pages, blog pages and so on. but most of the work we're gonna do here on the home page and you're gonna see that all the other pages- like product pages, checkout pages- they're already built up for you, so there's not much design that we have to do on these pages. then you can also change from desktop view to mobile view or full screen view. so eventually you want to make sure that your store looks very good on mobile as well, because a lot of the traffic nowadays online comes actually from mobile phones. but however, we're going to build out everything here on the desktop view. then the site is built up in different sections, so it always starts with a header section here on the top and then on all the way in the bottom there's the footer section where you're going to have a couple of links and your legal pages and so on, and in between the header and the footer there are the sections which you can decide what you want to put in here. so by default we have a slideshow section here on the top where you can feature your store or your products, and we also have a menu here on the top which is part of the header. then we have another section, the rich text section. right here we have collection list, we have feature collection and so on. these are all sections that you can add manually and also remove. so, for example, if you want to remove the which, the rich text section, we could simply click on it and then we can click on remove section right here on the bottom. now, depending on what screen size you have, this menu might also display here on the right side for you, but for me it's here on the left side- then you can click on remove section right here and, just like this, this section is now gone from our website. you can also add new sections by clicking on add section here on the bottom left, and then you can decide on what kind of section you want to add. so let's say, we want to add this rich text section. again, we can simply click on which text section, then it will add it here on the bottom and now we can also drag it to another position. so we can drag it here up to maybe below the slideshow, and there we go. we have this section now on our home page again. so let's actually start building, and the way we're going to do it is we're going to simply go from top to bottom and we're going to start with the header. so we're going to click on the header here on the left side and the first thing we're going to do is to add our logo to our store. so i'm going to click on select image right here and then we're going to choose the logo that i have prepared for this specific store. so i'm going to click on upload an image and then i'm going to choose this image right Hi friends, hope you are well. This is 2nd video of the Shopify series. In this video I will share how to add products to Shopify And start product selling. So lets start. I am Moumita and welcome to the Zaayega Seller Gyaan youtube channel. In the last video we watched how to signup and an overview of the admin panel. If you haven't watch that video, then click on the I button or check the link in the description box. Please watch that video first and then watch this video for your help. When you create an account with the platform, your URL will look like this, through which you can also log in directly: First, store name dot my shopifycom, and this will be URL which you can directly paste in the browser and log in. Let's see how you can add products and for this you can directly go to products. Then we gave to click on add product. You have to provide information related to your products: Title, description, images. The title must be short, engaging and unique. I will upload products of curtain accessories, So I added. and now comes Description part. You have to write details about products, features and what accessories are you giving in products. You have to include it in the description. Do not nake too lengthy, Pointwise describe the products So customers know what you are selling and what they will get. You can use HTML. you can insert video and image. Now I add the description will make some change here, like making bold. Now I will add an image in this manner And then ai can beautify the image as per the description text. It makes it appealing. Next is to add the image. you can drop the image. You can add a URL image if already made. Also, you can add a youtube video. If you are making a product video on YouTube, then you can add it here. Next is the price, where you get two options: Price and Compare At Price. In Price you add the price which you want to offer to customers. In Compare in Price you have you add the original MRP, So customers can understand that they are getting discounted prices of the products. Cost per time is the section where you have to add the actual cost of the product. It will help you understand what is the profit and margin In the tax. the box keeps it as it is because it is already checked. Next is Inventory to add SKUsYou can even add BarCode of the product. If you don't know how to create SKUs, check the video link in the description box to watch the video. Track quantity and sell when out of stok. If you tik on track quantity, then Shopify will track your product quantity. In the next option you should not tik because when the product is out of stok you can't sell Whatever quantity you have of the product. you should add that For shipping, your product weight also matters. We will put the weight of 25 gms. Next, in customs you have to put custom and origin. We will put the HS Code. it is important for GST. As per your product category. you have to insert your HS Code. Next is variants: Different sizes, colors and materials. You can choose the different color option, like, for example, I am showing you here. You can even choose the quantity of each color. Likewise, change SKUs and Barcode of each color product In a search engine how it will show. you can even check here URL has been created and you can see as per the URL created. On the right-hand side you can see the product is an active. option is there, But I have chosen the Draft because I need to do many things. Next is sales channels. you can also change the store availability. You have to feel the product type You should add as per your product type. Next is a vendor. If you are selling a brand product, then you can mention the brand. You can give the same in the vendor name. In the collection it is showing Home. What is the collection. how it is done we will see in next. Tags are very important for products. You need tags to create collections. The collection is like catalogs that you will prepare and present to customers So that customers can easily navigate your store. So tags are like the same thing, which you can add and accordingly you can search the collections with the help of the tags. Now we will check everything and save it. Now you got the message that congratulations, you added the first product. Now we will see how the product listing is looking in the webstore. Now you can see here how the title, price and color variation is looking. To add a different image in the description and the image in the image section. Otherwise it will look almost the same. If you want to change, you can delete and then change and see the preview. Now the image has been removed. Now I am not liking the size of the image, So I can shuffle and add. Now let's see how to make collections. Now. this is our page. Now the product showing in the draft. You can download the CSV template to import bulk products. You can even click on the add file and upload the images. You can click on the sample CSV template and you get the download option. Now let's see how you can do collections. You have to create a collection based on category so customers can easily find the products. We have to click on create a collection. You have to fill in the title. You can skip the description. Now you are getting collection type. You are getting two options: Manual or automated. In automated, you have to set a condition that matches with products. You can select all conditions or any condition. First is a tag that should exactly match. Now you can see I have added this one and all the products under this tag will show here. Now we will see how to do the manual. You have to create a collection. you have to fill the title as Kids toys. In collection type. I will select manually, Then save it. let's go down and you can browse instead of collection and add manually. So every time you don't have to create a collection, You can add products manually. if things come new in your store, Then you can activate the product and let's see now. Let's see the collections. how it looks Now. you can see here catalog option, where you can see all the products that are available in the store. How To List Products On Shopify!
as of recently, we have been getting a lot of questions and video requests on how to actually kind of use shopify, so in this video, i'm actually going to go over onto my screen and i actually want to just show you guys how to make sure your products are even getting shown in a facebook shop, of course. what i mean by that, though, is you post on shopify and it goes into your shop, so i'm just gonna walk you through the steps, making sure you do the few things right that you need to do, because there's a couple steps that no one toks about, or no one's even toked about yet. that's very crucial that you do so your products do get shown. [Music]. okay, now that we're over onto the screen, i actually want to walk you through the process just to make sure we're all on the same page on how to actually post an item. now, just to be very clear, this is a shopify that is actually linked to a facebook shop with a with the checkout initiated, which means someone can actually check out through the facebook side or the instagram, so you want to make sure you set up that way properly. now, inside of our subscription website, we do have a course. which that course, inside of there, once you get into the subscription website, is a hundred dollars, and it'll go over how to actually integrate that and go through that entire process. but as of right now, i am just going to show you guys strictly how to, just once you're all set up, make sure your items are actually being shown. so the first thing you're obviously going to do is go find a product. i just quickly clicked on one. i'm going to hit copy and then i'm going to just go to add product refresh and then i'm just going to quickly post one. and, by the way, this shop is not even actually active. we- um, this is one of the ones we just test throughout our testing phase. so, all right, so once you get this up, you just quickly just want to go through, do whatever you have to do. um, when you go down here, of course you have to put a quantity in makes you put a thousand. we use the list quick software, so they just do it for us. um, make sure it's all good. and then you have to make sure you hit active on it, because if it stays in draft it won't actually be shown. so, hit active, hit save. now the cool thing is: oh, let me just change this. so the cool thing is, once you actually hit save, you can actually go around into the products and change to so like. for example, i can now change it like this: so before you couldn't do that for some reason. someone actually said that shopify is trying to fix that and work on it. but when you post into the media you can't actually switch them around. but for some reason, once you save it, you can then switch and rotate them around. but if you don't hit save up top, it won't work as of right now when i'm making the video, but just make sure it's active. and then, once you do that, the next step you have to do is very crucial. you have to actually go all the way down to your sales channel and you have to hit this. hit facebook, then you're gonna have to come over to the right hand side once it loads in. and, um, once it's loaded in, you gotta go down here, hit, view all products and they're not approved, because i don't even know if it's still linked to a facebook shop- not sure, but show you guys. for example, you'll see that it needs a google google product category. that is crucial. so you gotta hit this now. we just put the same one in every time. but of course, if you want, you can be specific. and then you just got to hit new, hit save and then it will update it and then you can back out and you are all set with that. now, if you want to add shipping, you got to hit settings, shipping and delivery. so this is how you actually add the ship and you want to create a new profile, then once you create it, you can hit add products to it and then you'll basically just add a product to it. it's very simple and easy. just make sure you go here and set that up. of course. now, say, when you were setting up your shop, when you like, you shopified your shop and you linked it, you could have put like a base shipping rate in there. but if, of course, if you go and do it this way, it will change that. so if you put it the base shipping rate at like six dollars, every item will go to six dollars. but then when you go in here and change it to a ship and profile- say the shipping profile is fourteen dollars, it will move to 14.. so that's what you want to make sure you do, and i can even just go over it one more time again. um, i'll just go find a different product, um, i'll just hit this one and then you can hit copy. then, once you hit copy, of course i usually go up in the extension and just select feature and just change it. but let's just do this, for example, so it's just quick and easy- change it to make sure it's all set, and then i'll refresh and then i will post the item, of course, and i will show you guys, see how it goes first, which is good, but you can't change it. see how you can't change it. that's a problem right now with shopify. and then, obviously, you just want to go through just whatever you want. just put 44- it's already at the thousand- in for me, and then i'm gonna go up, make sure it's active, save now, once i save it and it's done being saved, i can then go boop and change it around, all. so that's something to note. it's very crucial that you understand that. then, of course, you go to sales channel, go to facebook and then you're just going to repeat the same process where i'm going to add a google category, go down here, view all products once i actually load into that, you're then going to see it's blank. of course i'm going to hit the same one, then i'm going to hit new, hit save and we're good now. and then, of course, you want to go add your shipping, which is going to go through the same process all over again. you can go down to settings, then you're going to go into shipping and you're just going to add the product to that shipping profile. now you can make a handful of shipping profiles. you can make like a 6, 9, 14, you know, whatever you guys choose to do, the only thing i will say is that you want to make sure you just add that every single time, because if you don't, then your product won't be shown. um, and at the end of the day, this is honestly probably the biggest main factor to your shopify store, because this is probably why most of your products aren't being shown, because you got to make sure they're at least saying active, they're not in draft, and you have a google category and if you do that, everything will be shown. of course, it takes about eight hours the first time you actually enable marketplace, usually eight to 24. they say we found around eight hours. Shopify Product Listing | Do Shopify Product Upload | How to List Product on Shopify
all right, welcome back. so now let's continue by going through the setup of Shopify, by adding our first product to our sample web store. so let's go ahead and click add product. by the way, of course, products can include physical items or digital items or services, so let's click add product. so now, as you can see in the top left, we were taken to products and then the all products sub tab. this is normal and will happen every time you add a new product in Shopify manually. so now look at what we have here. now we have the add product window and we are told, you know, the title, description and product status and all of these terminologies that we will get to in this lecture. so let's start off with the title. obviously, a title will be the title of your product. so you know whatever you're selling. is it a t-shirt? is it a dress? is it, you know, a gift card? whatever it is, is it a digital good? this is where the title of that product will be. so here will be. you know, let's, for the sake of this course, type in something: Sam sample. so John's t-shirt. okay, so John's t-shirt, this is the name of my sample product. I'm going to sell a t-shirt. now underneath that is the description box, in which I can add a description that makes this item you know more informative to people that are interested in buying it, or also more appealing. your descriptions should definitely include: you know the features of the product, you know what customers can expect, um, you know, if you're toking about clothings, then the sizes- that's very important- and you know the make and the material of the item as well. your description should be informative, but not overly long, but also not, like you know, only one sentence song either. they should be in the middle. now you may be wondering about all these buttons at the top here. they look like buttons that you would find in Microsoft Word or something like that. these are, of course, buttons that lets you change the size, the font style and even the color of the description, and even allow you to add images and videos to your description. so that's just an important thing. and also, of course, tables, for you know sizes and all of that. so, of course, that is something that you can explore on your own time, right, you know whether you want to add a bulleted list of the features that your item has or product has, or a numbered list, or maybe you want an indentation- if it's going to be like a lengthy description, right? or maybe you want to even add code, or, you know, you want to change the alignment or maybe even the color right of the text, you can definitely do that as well, or add some tables and so forth. but really, or clear formatting, or just leave it as basic text, but really, for the sake of our You Know, sample item, we're just going to leave a succinct, you know description of this shirt. so I'll just say: this is a basic white T-shirt made out of cotton, and then we'll just say: one size fits all, right, just to keep it simple. so this is our description, not a very good one, but for the sake of this it's enough, right? and so then let's move on to where it says product status at the top, right. so, as you can see, right now it's a draft. that means that this product is only a draft and therefore not live on our store. in order for it to become live in our store, we have to click here and change it to active, and then we would have to click the save button. but we're not going to do that yet, only because we are not ready. then underneath that we have sales Channel and apps. so we have online store checked. we always want to make sure that that's checked, because that is our Shopify store. we can also schedule availability if we want to make this item available at a future date. let's say you have, you know, uh, Halloween or Christmas collection that you want to appear on your site at a certain date. you can definitely change that here, okay, and so let's scroll a little bit down. so on the right side we have the organization vendor. so this is basically more so what we're going to get into later on when we're toking about- you know toking about. you know print on demand and apps. don't worry about that, we'll tok about that later on. or let's say you have your own you know brand right of clothing or, in general, your own business brand. you can type in the name here. or let's say you work with you know a, you know a production company or someone that prints your items for you, right, they would be considered. you know who the vendor is. or maybe let's say you work with a partner company. they would be the vendor of your product and you're the one responsible for selling it. right, you can type that here, if you'd like. you know, this is just something for you and to make the- you know- items more organized and to keep track of what you're selling, basically, and then underneath that we have product type. so, again, this is something that's helpful for you know: organizing, keeping things needed in order, depending on what it is you're selling, you know, you can have a type of category for it. so, since I said that I'm going to sell a t-shirt, I would be looking for a pearl and accessories, so let's go ahead and click that and then look for clothing and then T-shirt, If we can possibly find it. yes, shirts and tops. so this would be under shirts and tops, because this is a t-shirt that I'm selling. so that has been added. so now this makes the item more findable for people that are trying to find t-shirts and then collections. this is something that we'll tok about more in depth later. but what is a collection in Shopify? well, again, let's tok about that example that I mentioned earlier. let's say you're trying to have a Christmas or Halloween collection, and this is something that's seasonal, obviously right. so a collection would be a subset of items that fall under that- either Halloween or Christmas- in your store and are specifically or exclusively available during those dates, or not, right, it can also be, you know, a plus size collection, whatever collection that's available year round, but you want to have these items in their own section of a store because it makes it easier to find for that group or niche of people. so just be aware that that is what a collection is. and then tags: this is something more so for you, but it's also helpful for General organization skills. you know, let's say you want to have your items, you know, be separated by adjectives, or you know, uh, anything in general that is an attribute to it. so, let's say, this shirt would be. you know, I said that it was made out of cotton, so I would include cotton, and then it was also a plain white T-shirt, let me add, you know, white. and then one last one, let's say t-shirt, right, this is just so you know you can filter out the items whenever you're looking for a tag and so forth. this is something that I would recommend also adding, just in case you are a type of person that likes to have your store really organized and neat. okay, and so then online store theme template. so here we have default product you always want to leave this as default product. why? well, because this is what the Shopify theme, which we're going to get into later, has been coded to show. you typically want to have your pages left alone when it comes to your theme template, when it comes to your product pages, because Shopify already did all this coding work for you. so just don't mess around with this too much, unless, of course, you know. you know you, you know what you're doing. but since we're just beginning with Shopify, just leave this always as default product. so now let's scroll up a little bit and go to Media. so media, as you can probably assume, this is where you add the images or the pictures for your product, right? so let's say, you know you have a nice picture of a model wearing your product or something among the like. you definitely want to have at least one picture for every item on your store, because when people, customers, are scrolling through your store, thumbnails are going to be required. and where our thumbnails taken from- well, of course, from your media, from where?
