Shopify POS: A Comprehensive Review for 2022
In this article, we will be discussing Shopify, the world's leading e-commerce platform for all businesses. Shopify has now developed its own tools for brick-and-mortar businesses, offering solutions for physical retailers. In this review, we will be discussing Shopify's POS system, its pricing plans, and its advantages and disadvantages.
Getting Started with Shopify POS:
1. If you have a Shopify eCommerce website, your current plan already includes the Shopify POS app.
2. If you don't have a Shopify account, create one online and choose the plan that best fits your needs.
3. Install the Shopify retail POS app available on most Android and iOS devices.
4. Once you're logged in, the POS app will provide you with an all-in-one solution to run your store.
Shopify POS Pricing Plans:
1. Shopify offers three different pricing plans with a monthly fixed fee and a blended transaction rate on all payments.
2. The basic plan costs 24 Euros per month with a 1.7% transaction rate.
3. The Shopify plan is 69 Euros per month with commissions of 1.6%.
4. The advance plan costs 289 Euros with transaction rates of 1.5 percent.
5. The POS Pro app comes with an additional 89 euro per month for establishment.
Advantages of Using Shopify POS:
1. Shopify POS is an all-in-one solution, designed to make in-store payment seamless.
2. It removes barriers between online and in-store sales, enabling you to offer the best of both worlds to your customers.
3. Shopify POS is directly connected to your Shopify product catalog, enabling you to push customer cards directly to your terminal to facilitate payment.
4. It provides complete tools to manage online and in-store activities from a single platform, including inventories, logistics, customer profiles, and much more.
Disadvantages of Using Shopify POS:
1. Shopify POS is a less attractive offer for starting or established in-store businesses with significant monthly fees, limited payment options, and high transaction rates.
2. The wise pad free reader can only connect with an iPad or iPhone that is running iOS 12 or higher.
3. Payment methods like discover JCB and Union pay are not supported yet.
In conclusion, Shopify POS is an incredible solution for Shopify online merchants who make a few in-store sales. However, if you make significant revenue in-store, then Shopify will probably not be the most suitable offer for you. You might then want to consider more specialized payment solutions that fit your needs better. Overall, Shopify's POS system is a great option for multi-channel businesses, providing complete tools to manage online and in-store activities from a single platform.
Shopify POS Card Reader for Vendor Events & Retail
Hey guys, welcome back to my channel. In this video, I'll show you just how easy it is to collect payments using a POS card system reader. If you're thinking about getting into the local market, participating in pop-up events or vendor shows, then you need a physical card reader system to collect your payments.
Why use a POS system?
- Expands your business
- Gets more local customer base
- Tap into local market even when traveling out of town
Step 1: Online platform
If you don't already have an online platform to sell your products through, then you need one. Shopify is the best platform you can use hands down. It's efficient, easy to use and can make selling products a breeze.
Step 2: Attend vendor events
I recently attended a vendor event through Her Market, which is a really fun and great vendor market event in Atlanta, specifically for women-owned businesses. This past August, they assigned me to pop up in their brand new store, where I was able to set up my booth inside of their store and collect payments from my iPad and my POS system.
Step 3: Choose a POS system
There are two different ways to collect payments using a POS system:
1. Download the Shopify POS app and connect it through Bluetooth to the POS card reader. This allows you to add custom sales or select products directly off of your website to add to your cart and check out.
2. Use the regular Shopify app and add custom sales to the app, and then you can manually enter everyone's card on the app. This process can be time-consuming and unprofessional.
Step 4: Get a POS system
Shopify offers a card and chip reader system that is currently priced at $29. They also have newer models that have newer features like the tap feature. This is a great option if you're holding in-person events and need a physical card reader to check people out.
Other options that Shopify offers are:
- The tap and chip card reader
- The dock for the card and chip reader
- The Shopify retail stand for iPad
- Full retail kits and hardware accessories like barcode scanners, receipt printers, cash drawers, and more.
So, are you excited to get ready for your first in-person event? With a POS system, you can make selling products a breeze and give your customers a seamless and easy experience. Don't miss out on impatient customers because you're having to manually type everyone's credit card in, just get a POS system.
