How to set up Shopify Payments || Shopify Help Center

So you’ve gone over all the eligibility criteria and decided that Shopify Payments is right for your business. Now let’s set it up and start using it. Before starting the setup process for Shopify Payments, you’ll first need to decide on a store's currency. A store currency is the currency used in your admin and the one you price your products in. To choose a currency, go to “Settings” in your admin Under “Store Currency”. choose the currency for your store, Then click “Save”. Your store currency can be different from the currency your bank account is in. For instance, your store may be located in Europe, but most of your sales happen in the US. You may want to keep the currency of your store in USD, but have your payouts in Euros. It’s important to note that, while your store currency can be any those listed in your store settings, the currency you receive your money in is based on where your store is located. This is because your bank account must be located in the same country as your store. If you need to change your currency after making your first sale, you’ll need to contact Shopify support for assistance. Once you’ve picked a currency, you’re ready to activate Shopify Payments. If you haven’t already set up a payment provider, you can do so by clicking the onboarding card on the home screen. …and then clicking “Set Up Shopify Payments”. This will take you to the “Payment” section of your settings, where you’ll be able to click “Complete Account Setup” for Shopify Payments. If you have previously set up another payment provider but wish to switch to Shopify Payments, you’ll see the primary provider “here” at the top of the payment section and the link to “Switch to Shopify Payments” just below it. Once you have activated Shopify Payments, if applicable, you’ll be able to enter your Business Number or Taxpayer Identification Number, depending on which country your business is located in…. …your personal information…. …and banking information. If your store is located in Europe, you’ll need to provide a Value-Added Tax number or indicate that you don't have one. When setting up Shopify Payments, you’ll need to choose your type of business. If you are a corporation, you can provide your business number, EIN or Taxpayer Identification Number for your business. If you’re a sole proprietor and don't have one of these numbers, you can submit your Social Insurance Number or Social Security Number instead. Keep in mind that if you set up your Shopify Payments account as a corporation or LLC, you will still need to provide the name and date of birth of someone associated with the business. This is a requirement for verification purposes. All businesses need to submit a tax ID and are responsible for collecting and remitting tax on their sales to the appropriate government authority. It's recommended that you discuss any tax issues relating to your business with a local tax professional. You may also be required to submit details about you and your business. This information is used to help identify merchants using Shopify Payments and is a requirement to comply with the terms of service. What is required to be collected may differ from country to country. Typically, this includes documentation about the business associated with the Shopify Payments account, about the owner of the business or about an individual with signing authority for the business. If Shopify is unable to verify your identity using this information, you may be asked to submit additional documentation. that could include Proof of identity, Proof of home address or Proof of business verification. Because of the sensitive nature of personal information, the requested documents can only be submitted through your Shopify admin, not through our live chat support team or email. Your identity, home address and proof of entity documents must be reviewed and matched successfully to the information on your Shopify Payments account before your business can be fully verified. Reviews of your Shopify Payments account can take up to 3 business days to complete. Once Shopify Payments is set up, customers will be able to use the service to checkout on your store. Let’s take a look at what customers see when they make an order. After entering their address and picking a shipping method, they’ll be taken to the payment screen. Here they’ll be able to see the most popular credit card options offered. After entering their credit card details, they can review the order before placing it. If you have Apple and Google pay enabled and customers are using a matching device, they will have the option to pay with it on the cart page. Once the order has been placed, you'll see the order show up in the order section of your admin and your customer will receive a notification. How To Setup SHOPIFY Payments (Simple Method)

hey guys, Dean, here in today's Shopify video, I'm going to be running you through how to set up Shopify payments on your Shopify Drop Shipping Store. this allows you to accept any kind of payments which people are going to send you, typically when you sell any product on your dropshipping store, and this is a really important thing, because when people pay you, you want to go straight to your bank account, right, and we're going to set up all the different payment methods, or at least show you how that process actually works, to make sure you can accept payments as soon as you get sales on Shopify. now, typically, this is going to be based on how you want your store to be set up, right, so there's options to get paid directly to PayPal, which is obviously going to benefit a lot of people who just want quick payments and Easy System. PayPal has some pretty good security, but they mainly do favor the buyer of the seller in a lot of situations, and obviously you can receive direct card payments using stripe, which is shopify's partner too. so let's take a look at the Shopify dashboard and go on the shop, provide payments, and I'll explain everything from that. so here we are in the Shopify dashboard on one of my stores and basically, I'm going to show you how to set up the Shopify AI payments. so the first thing, what we need to do, guys, is just click on settings in the bottom left and it'll take you to your dashboard for your store here. okay, I have my store over here. I've just blurred out some of the crucial information, but we're going to click on the payment section on the left over here, and from here let's just take a look at all the payment options which Shopify give us as an option. so this is how we're going to accept payments from all of our customers and how we're going to process those payments and transactions and how we're going to acquire money at the end of the day. so, basically, this payment capture over here. so, if we manage this, this is the customer's payment method and how it's authorized and charged, and, by default, that's going to be on automatik. so there's the choice between automatik and manual capture. automatik captures payments for all the orders automatikally and the method is authorized and charged automatikally too, whereas if we select manually, you'll capture the payment method and it's authorized at the time of the order and you'll need to manually capture the payment within the authorization period. so this just adds another extra step in the process, which you just really don't need to do unless you just want to manually specifically look at every single order. you don't need to select manual because it's just going to add another step in the process and you want to be saving time here. so I wouldn't change that. I'd leave it on default and, as you can see down here, I have PayPal already active. that's what I activated it first and these are the additional payment methods. so the main payment system, Shopify payments- I will show you that in a few moments- but the additional payment methods- if you just want to sell PayPal, you can kind of just set that up instead. basically, PayPal is the main provider I'm using. the reason why I think PayPal is personally pretty good is because they have a zero percent transaction fee, and this basically means that when people make a purchase using PayPal on your store, you won't have to pay a cut of that towards PayPal for that sale. so that's really useful, or at least the customers also won't need to have a transaction fee. also, too, we can also click on ADD payment methods to add more, and you click manage on PayPal and over here I've connected my PayPal account. so typically, if you were to create a brand new store on Shopify, it'd have an option to activate the PayPal feature and then also link your PayPal account directly to your store, and that's how you would actually set it up. you'd be basically then log into your PayPal, get a code through your phone and then authorize it through Shopify to allow the permission for Shopify to use your account, and then you link it. it's a pretty easy process to set up the PayPal Express checkout. it allows you to receive payments in foreign countries with PayPal. so usually with a store you'd have to set up so many different Nationals and locales and set up each country and the taxes that people pay for those different countries and zones. but if you set up Paypal, it just does all for you. it's a very simple thing to do. if you don't have a PayPal account and you want to do some kind of e-commerce online, I really recommend setting up. okay now, I originally had a Paypal because I used to use it for eBay and for online work, but if you haven't got a PayPal, I think you're really sleeping on it because it's the easiest way to sell up. the only downside is, like I said before, PayPal do typically favor the buyers rather than the sellers. I've never really seen very good protection for sellers on PayPal. when we get to the stage where you may have refunds and chargebacks when using PayPal, it's probably the worst, but it is the safest and easiest payment process to use and I can't even moves along the heavy lifting and it's just really simple to set up. guys, you also have Amazon pay as well, so there's not many websites which typically you really seem to use Amazon pay, but you would click activate Amazon pay and you have to register as a merchant on Amazon for this right. so I would select United Kingdom and if you want to set up Amazon pay, you have to create an Amazon payments merchant account and basically the certain requirements needed to set up this account. so your online store must live and be accessible with products available for purchase. obviously, this is going to be your Shopify store, so you need to have products already activated in the store when you set this up and they must follow Amazon's acceptable use policy. so you need to obviously agree to their terms of service on their platform and you need to specifically specify the URLs you're going to use for their payment processor, which would be your Shopify URL and certain countries. there's certain revenue and turnover requirements, some items that you'll need when setting up. they'll need your image of your passport so they can do some kind of facial recognition and identity information regarding you, too, and details about your business- any vat numbers or business codes you need to provide- and that's how they do identity verification. just like on cryptokurrency platforms, when you want to sell crypto or any government gateways and websites, you need to provide your passport, some kind of ID and facial recognition, such as a picture of yourself, to actually verify it's you. it's kind of similar when you set up an Amazon Seller Central account to sell on Amazon or do Amazon FBA. you'll basically have to do a webcam live chat with one of Amazon's support reps and they'll verify it's you. that's what I had to do. I had to do like 30 minute or 20 minute call with an Amazon rep. I don't think you have to do that with this, but it's a similar thing where they need to verify your identity right and you need to register with Amazon pay and after registration, you check Seller Central and this is the One-Stop shop for updates. so, just like selling on Amazon, you use Seller Central just like an Amazon vendor would when you sell products on Amazon. so that's how to set up Amazon. if you want to use Amazon pay, that's another method. I'd recommend PayPal. it's much easier and you don't have to use a third-party platform as much, because you're gonna have to refer to the Amazon platform a lot more than you would have to log into PayPal. now, manual payment methods are payments made outside your online store. so if a customer wants to do a manual payment method, like cash on delivery, you'll need to approve this. I wouldn't recommend doing cash on delivery. cash on delivery is, for an example, if I was to do cash and delivery on an ebay account, that would mean where if I sell a product, such as a piece of furniture.

Shopify Payments Setup: How To Create Payment Gateway (2022)

shopify payment setup. hi everyone, welcome back into this channel, and today i will be teaching you how to create a payment gateway on shopify. so let's begin right away. the very first step is to make sure that you have an account on shopify. so if you don't have an account, you may go to shopifycom and place your working email right here. make sure that your email is working, since shopify will be sending you a confirmation email or a verification email that will verify that your account is existing. once you're done inputting your email address, click on start free trial right here and then click on password and type in your password. i'll just type in right here and make sure to follow the required password right here. click on create your store once you're done and then wait for it to load. so shopify takes a lot of time to load, so you should be patient with all of these steps. so, as you can see, shopify is loading right now. so once it is done loading, make sure to add the important information that shopify needs in your store so you may click on um. are you already selling? you may choose an option, or what is your current revenue? choose an option. which industry will you be operating? choose an option as well. right here you may click on skip if you think that you still don't have the answer to all of this, and then it will redirect you now to this page right here. so it will ask about your address, so your country or your region, your first name, your last name, address, your apartment, suite and etc. your postal code, city, region, phone and optional business or personal website right here. so make sure to add all of these ones, since it is required, except of this optional business or personal website. you may also check on: this store is a registered business, if you have already registered it to your respective office swap, and then click on enter my store. and once you click on enter my store, this page or the home page will appear, and then you may add a product right here by clicking on add product. or let's say, for example, that the product that you want is on um, aliexpress. so you may go to apps right here on the left pane and then click on overloop. so once you click overloo, it will redirect you to this page, which says that the overloo is a drop shipping app. so click on add app and then wait for it to load again. shopify is taking time to load, so you should be patient with it. once you click on add app, this will be shown on the screen. so the first one is create or connect your shopify store. step two is: i had your first product. the step three is go live and the step 4 is make a sale, so you may track your steps right here. as you can see, there is a green one which indicate that you have already achieved the number of steps out of the four steps right here. so, since we have already created and connected our shopify store, it has now been added right here. so what we're going to do now is to proceed with step two: add your first product. so go to products, right here on the left pane, and click on find products, and right here you may choose the category that you want. so you may choose men's clothing and accessories, women's clothing and accessories, toys and hobbies, beauty and health, watches and etc. you may also choose on more categories. if you cannot see any category that you've won, let's say, for example, i'll click on beauty and health, and right here you just simply choose the product that you want. so click on the. for example, i want to choose this one. simply click on add to import list and then choose as many product as you want. as you can see, i have added or imported a product already, so you may now then click on import list right here and then make sure to tik the box right here. or let's say, for example, you have a lot of products. you may click on the box right here as well, so everything will be selected. once you have selected your products, click on import to store right here, then make sure to turn it to draft first and click on import ass draft, then wait for it to load. once it is done loading, a tik mark or a check mark will be seen right here, and then now you may proceed back to your shopify store and go to your products and, as you can see, now you have your product right here, so you may click on it and then you may be able to see your product. jimmy also edit the name of that product, the description and etc. so again, let's just wait for it to load and then- let's say, for example, that you have already edited your product name or your description. you may click on the bottom right of the screen and then now let's proceed to what you're looking for, which is the setting up of the payment. so let me go to settings, right here on the left pane, and then you may see store details, plan billing, users and permissions, payments, checkout and many more. so let's focus on payments right here. so click on payments and you may choose payment providers, supported payment methods or manual payment methods. so, on manual payment methods, you may add manual payment method, such as create a custom payment method, your bank deposit, money order or cash on delivery or cod. once you are looking for your desired payment method, you just simply try all of this so that you may um experience everything. so let's say, for example, i want to choose a provider. i'll just simply click on that one and then wait for it to load. so, right here i may look for the provider that you want. you may choose to check out by d local credit card or debit card, via paymongo and etc. so you may see here as well what cards are supported by these payment method or your payment providers. so let's say, for example, i want to choose this to check out, and then, as you can see, there is a description. there are also instructions, which include create a to checkout account and log in and activate your to check account, access the integrations under the api section, and you should read all of this so that you will have a successful payment gateway. so the merchant code and the secret code can be seen once you created an account on to check out or other payment options. so let's say, for example, let's click on create a to check account and then make sure to sign up for free. since i have already signed up, i'll just sign in right away. so i'll just log in first, i'll type in my password and make sure to provide again a working email so that you will not have problems later on. so let's say, for example, that you have done um, creating your account, and this page will appear. so let's go back to shopify and the payments method. as you can see, you need your merchant code and your secret word. so to do that, go to integrations and then make sure that you are in the web hooks and api. so let's say, for example, you forgot this video. you may go to shopify and again read all of this, since everything is um the same. so again go to web books and api and right here you may see your merchant code. so simply copy this one and paste it right here, and then your secret word or secret key is right here. make sure to click on the i button first and then copy it and paste it right here as well. so you may check on the credit card providers, such as visa, mastercard, american express, jcb, discovery and diners club. so if you don't want diners club, you may uncheck it and etc. you may enable to check on enable test mode so that you may see what are the things needed in order for the customer to pay your product. so click on activate, found on the lower right corner, if you are already done, and then you may now go back to the shopify store type in shopifycom. make sure to log in and then go to your store. so once you are in your store, let's just wait for it. you may now go back to products and then make sure that this product status from draft. you may um turn it into active. so let's just click on more actions and click on set us active and wait for it to load. as you can see, now your product is active, so it can be seen on your store and you have already set up Shopify Payments Setup | Super SIMPLE Tutorial (Step by Step)

hey guys, this is Jake Alexander with casual e-commerce, and in this video, I'm going to be showing you how you can set up your Shopify payments account so that way you can start receiving payouts when you begin making sales with your Shopify store. so, in order to get started, you just need to log in to the dashboard of your store and then we're gonna come down here to settings and then, once where its settings, we're gonna go to payment providers, and this is where we can go ahead and choose which payment providers we want to go ahead and use, and you can see that there's a lot of options here. now, really quickly, before we do this, I do want to scroll down and just confirm that your payment authorization is set to automatik. this makes things a lot easier and it also saves you the hassle if somebody, for example, purchases an order and you know you fulfill it accidentally before you actually get the payment and then you never just get the payment. so it's a lot easier to just keep this at automatik. so, when it comes to setting up your payment providers, there's really only two that you're gonna be using. one is Shopify payments into his paypal, so we're gonna go ahead and get into Shopify payments here. so, if you don't know, Shopify payments is essentially just stripe. it's just Shopify has partnered with stripe and it's kind of a custom setup of stripe. but tripe is a third-party payment provider and they process credit card transactions. so Shopify payments is literally just stripe. so they've just partnered together. so Shopify payments is the easiest one to set up. there are others you can do if you go to change provider. you can select a third-party credit provider here and you can see there's a bunch of different ones here. but I would recommend just stiking with Shopify payments. now I am located in the United States, so if you're outside of the United States, in another country, you might need to use something different. so we're going to go ahead and do now. when it comes to setting up Shopify payments, it's pretty simple. you just need to complete account setup in here and now you just have to enter some sensitive information so you can see. here you type in your business type, so most likely you're an individual or sole proprietor, but if you already have an LLC or if you're in a partnership or if you've registered a corporation, you'd go ahead and do that and then you would enter your EIN number, if you have one and then your business address and then you enter your personal details here and then right here is actually pretty important- in product details. so you just kind of want to tok about what you are selling. so in this sample store here I was selling acne products so I could put in online retailer of skin care products. so you just want to put something like this in here: just a little brief description of what you're selling. that way, stripe knows, because they have to have some sort of vetting process, but you know pretty much I've never seen anyone not get approved before, but I still wouldn't risk, you know, putting something stupid in here. definitely just put a nice clean-looking description of what you're selling and then down here you can go ahead and put in- I wouldn't put like a personal number in like this is a Google Voice number. so you can put in a Google Voice number or your business number if you have a 1-800 number, because this information will be shown on your customers credit card statements. so if it was me, I you know I don't like having my personal number anywhere out there, so I wouldn't want that here. and then the statement descriptor right here. you can see if we change it. you can see this is what's going to show up on our customers credit card history. so if you want to put the name of your store here, or you can put the name of like- if you have the actual company name, you could put like, company, LLC, and then down here- you just go ahead and put your information and then complete account setup and most likely you're going to be approved instantly and you'll be good to go. so once you're approved, you're gonna be all set, and then what you'll be able to do actually, once you're approved, is you can edit here and you'll see that you can actually change which types of credit cards you want to accept. so if you don't want to accept certain credit cards, you can go ahead and edit that here. I'm not really sure why you wouldn't want to accept certain credit cards, to be honest, but that is something you can do. all right. so now that Shopify payments is set up, you're pretty much good to go. so I just wanted to quickly let you know how the process works once it's set up and you start to get your first orders coming in. so let's say, a customer buys your product for $30, so obviously you're not going to receive that entire 30 dollars because Shopify is gonna take a small transaction fee and then stripes going to take their transaction fee and if you open this up here, you can see the payment processing right here. so if you were to make a $30 sale, it would. you would lose 2.4 percent of that plus 30 cents. and whenever you upgrade your Shopify plan to go ahead and get a higher pain Shopify plan, what it does is it lowers this processing fee right here. so what I normally recommend is the only time that you really need to upgrade beyond the basic Shopify plan is when you're making enough sales to where you'll actually just make more money to go ahead and get a lower payment processing rate. so that is the main draw of upgrading your Shopify plan is to get in a actual lower payment processing rate, because eventually you do hit a point where you're losing money by staying on the basic plan because of this percentage right here. and as far as the payment delay, payments aren't going to be transferred to the Associated Bank account immediately- know there's a two to three day delay. so normally you will receive all of the money from the sales that you made a few days ago and if you receive any refunds or get any. if you issue any refunds, rather within the products or orders section, it's going to be withdrawn from the linked bank account. it's not going to be withdrawn from the pending balance. it's gonna come from the bank count and if you get any charge backs, that's also going to come out of your bank account as well. so, with that said, I think I've pretty much covered everything in regards to setting up Shopify payments and how it works. if I miss something, be sure to let me know in the comments and I'll try and answer as quickly as possible. if you liked this video and found it helpful, go ahead and leave it a thumbs up, be sure to subscribe to the channel for more content and I will see you guys in the next video.

Shopify payment setup: easy tutorial for beginners- step-by-step guide. hi guys, welcome back. today I'm giving you a tutorial on how to set up Shopify payments. what are the different ways we can add payment methods to accept our payments from our customers on our Shopify store? so let's get started. first, what you guys need to do is you will open up your Shopify store, which is going to be myshopifycom, and you will land right here on your admin. today I'll show you how to set up the Shopify payments for your new store that you have created, or if you're looking for different payment methods. once you get to the admin right here, what you guys need to do is you will click on settings. in settings, we have different options. you can see the fifth option is going to be payments. right here, click on payments and it will take you to the payment set up on Shopify. you can see we have different options available and I'll show you different options and everything thing that you need to know. so you can see, in payments, the first option is a payment provider- providers that enable you to accept payment methods at a rate set by a third party. so this is going to be for the third party. then we have supported payment method. these are the payment method that Shopify approves and these are available. and then we have manual payment method. before we check out the supported payment method and payment providers, I want to show you the manual payment methods. so the manual payment methods are payments that are made outside your online store. in here we have the create custom payment method: bank deposit, money order and cash on delivery. so if you're looking to set up cash on delivery or bank deposit, then this is where you will go. so, let's say, I select bank deposit and then you have to enter your additional details right here, payment instruction, click on activate bank deposit and it will be activated. similarly, I can select the cash on delivery. you have to enter your additional details- payment instruction- and click on activate cash on delivery, and these manual payment methods can be set on Shopify. moving on, we have the supported payment method. now this is where we actually first check that if the payment method we are looking for is available on Shopify or not. so you have to click on ADD payment method and it will take you right here you can see search by payment methods. let's say, I'm looking to add a MasterCard payment, like a card payment, so we can select MasterCard. now I will select this one. moving on, we will actually get different suggestions from Shopify. so we have MasterCard, then I can search for a Visa, American Express, JCB, then we have others, so you will select the cards you want to go for or the payment methods, such as Apple pay, union pay. I'm gonna add union pay as well. then I want to add clarina. we can also accept crypto coins with are Shopify payments. you can see right here we have usdc, die doji coin and others. then we have yellow. right here we have zip, alipay, WeChat pay- so I'm going to select WeChat pay as well for my chinese-space customers. then we have Samsung cord. we have others as well, so you're going to select the ones you want to go for now. it will actually show you if there are different payment providers available that give us all of these different options, such as- if I didn't have, like Florida, we have faster pay. then we have payment wall as well, so now I have this provider, which gives me all of the payment methods that I'm looking for and 47 more, such as WeChat pay, Bitcoin, and then we have union pay too, so I'm going to click on activate right here. all right. so now it's asking me to connect my faster pay with my Shopify. so you have to click on connect, click on install app so it'll open up the faster pay for me and you can see right here, remove money worldwide in seconds. now. now you will create your account on this website right here, which is a you know payment setup, and it allows you to accept payment worldwide. it gives you your own digital wallet. now, this is just not for this platform. on Shopify, we can actually connect any method we want to. let's say that you already have an account on some of the payment methods, for example, PayPal, or you want to use stripe. stripe is actually really famous and a lot of people use strive for payment, for accepting and you know sending. so how to connect stripe as well, it's going to be similar. what you guys need to do is, once you get to the ad payment method, you're gonna search for stripe, or you can search in the provider, because stripe is a payment provider, and once you get it right here, you will open up your stripe. you need an account on that platform as well. if you do not know how to create an account on stripe, well, you can go to stripecom and this is where you will get on stripe. you have to click on sign in or sign up and it will allow you to create your brand new account. so you will enter your email address right here, password, click on continue and the stripe account will be created. it's really easy to create an account in stripe once you get the account. you have your stripe account right here and then you will just go to your Shopify and payments and you will connect and click on activate for your stripe. I'm actually showing you all of the possible payment methods because, watching this video, I don't want you guys to think that, okay, there are just limited methods that you can add to Shopify. the process is similar to add any kind of payment method. you will open up these settings for your stripe, you will click on the payments and then you can choose a provider or a payment method that you like or you already have an account on or that works with your country. so the options are not limited and we get a lot of different. you can see payment providers right here. we have ePay, we have icon account, then we have ip88, we have moneypal, we have WeChat pay. we have a clarina stripe- you can see right here a stripe tab: value, tour, Wind Cave. so any of these payment methods that you have. you can just simply go ahead and select that and then you will, for example, ARP. so you just select that, click on, activate and open up your account. login to the payment account, the platform that you want to connect. you will log in and then just connect your Shopify to that payment platform. that's how easy it is to set up payments on Shopify. so it is going to be the provider and then, similarly, we have the payment methods right here, where I can just add any of the simplest payment methods, such as the debit cards, and then we have the manual payment. so go ahead and check out the Shopify payments right here. it's really easy to set up the payment on Shopify and start accepting money and payments with your Shopify store to run a successful business. this so yeah, guys, this brings us to the end of the video.
